And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Leiana could not stay mad at Storm. He had a certain charm that made it terribly difficult to not like him, or even to be mad at him for long. That didn't mean she was pleased with him having barged it but that it was a forgivable offense seeing as it was the first time to happen. "I'd love to go for a walk. A bit of fresh air will do me some good." She said before excusing herself for a moment to tidy the mess she'd made. Once the letters were sufficiently hidden in stacks of paper, beneath books, and then again beneath a cup of pencils, she turned to join him. "I was actually writing letters, not committed murder," she said with a laugh. "It can get a bit messy given my eye sight. So where would you like to go on hour walk?"

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Mortified as not a strong enough word to describe what she was feeling. Had it been anyone else - Jasper, Monty, even Murphy, she might not have turned ghost white or shrieked the way she had. But it wasn't them. It was, naturally, the very person she had been fantasizing about - Bellamy Blake himself. In her haste to cover herself, Leiana was certain he had seen plenty, and his awkward demeanor and words only added to her embarrassment. What exactly had he heard? The way she breathless whispered his name? Had he heard the desperation in her voice? The thoughts made her skin crawl - it wasn't that she didn't want him to know. But to have him find out like this... was not how she'd planned to tell him. While he was struggling to get his jacket out of the door she had managed to wrap the duvet around herself like a cocoon ad now had her face hidden behind her palms. "Bellamy wait." She tried to keep her voice casual but it was anything but. Damn it. She should have just let him leave. Leia was kicking herself. He was going - why was she trying to stop him?! It wasn't like any good could come of it. "What did you want?"

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Leiana pondered his question for a moment, weighing the options. She wasn't a fighter, they all knew that, and having her on the guard would only put more of a burden on them. She couldn't do that when they were already struggling to rebuild after Mount Weather. "The basics, I guess..." She finally replied, sounding a little helpless. "I just... I want to be able to defend myself." She began to elaborate. Leia sighed softly and finally looked at him, her expression defeated. "I'm tired of being a target, being the one people hurt. I don't want you to have to keep fighting for me."
Maybe if she could have thrown a decent punch she could have helped with his Militia, or done better in Mouth Weather. Maybe it was all just wishful thinking. All she knew was that she was so tired of people taking advantage of her being weak. She wanted to help, herself and them.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Stories, Leiana laughed out loud and wiped the tears from her cheeks. There was so much to tell Clarke's daughter; their life on the Ark, when they'd first come to Earth, the Grounders attack, the Mountain Men, The Coalition. And there was still more. It had been six long years since their been closed in the bunter. So much had happened and most of it was not good. Leiana shivered when Clarke mentioned it.
"A lot happened." She answered, not really elaborating on it. "It was hard for a while. There was a lot of fighting. The twelve clans all hated us. Our own people were creating mutiny to keep the grounders hungry." Leiana had not forgiven Kara for what she'd done because it was in part her fault. But in truth they all had a part to play. Each of them had all been compliant to the dark time.
"Octavia... she... she kept us strong." Blodreina had alive through means that were taboo, and with far reaching ramifications. It was one horrible moment after the next. Leiana wondered when it would stop. When they would have time to simply sit down and breathe again. "It's a conversation we should have in private, just us."

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The cold water was extremely effective. Leiana woke with a violent jolt, gasping and jerking against her restraints. The first thing she noticed was that she was somewhere she didn't recognise, the second was that she was tied up and on the ground. Leiana struggled furiously, and pointlessly against the restraints, not loosening them at all and only succeeding in pinching and chaffing her wrists. Except when he spoke she completely froze.
His voice was worse then the water, was sickeningly casual; as though he hadn't just kidnapped her and tied her up. The memories came back to her slowly, like poison seeping into her mind. It made her shiver. Leiana looked up at him slowly, hesitantly as she held her breath, hoping desperately. It wasn't. Her vision was blurred from the blow to the head, as well as her own disability, but this was definitely not a dream.
Leia couldn't remember his name at this very moment but remembered that he was bad news. He was a criminal, that much was common knowledge. And that he was dangerous. But then again... so were the grounders, and the mountain men, and they'd survive against them somehow. Her heart was still thundering in her chest in panic when she managed to sit up, edging a little away from him despite her resolve to not be afraid. "What do you want?" He voice was horse, her throat aching.

19. Writing a love letter.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ There was something cathartic about not using technology, and instead about writing it down with pen and paper, even if she didn't intend to deliver it to him. It was just nice to get her emotions out in their pure and unfiltered form, raw and honest. Leiana's handwriting was decent enough, it not a little bit messy as she hunched over the desk, leaning comically close to the page.
There was now a few spread around her workspace, each one expressing something different. Gratitude, sympathy, her overall love for him. Leiana had no intention of sending them or revealing them to anyone, not that it wasn't half obvious already, but that didn't stop her from jumping when the door swung open unexpectedly, or the pen from jumping across the page and through the words she had written. She was quick to turn the pages over and hide them before spinning around to confront the intruder. She was a little surprised to find Storm behind her. "Don't you ever knock?!"

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Time healed all wounds. That's what someone had said to her. Maybe enough time hadn't passed. Maybe she just hadn't waited long enough. Because she still felt broken - horribly and irrevocably broken. Her bones still ached with phantom pain, the drill tearing into skin, and muscle, and bone, drawing the marrow out. The sound of it whirring insistently, the screaming, her screaming, replaying in her ears every night. The horror of it all. It was like a bad dream she couldn't wake up from - a nightmare that was never ending. Each day there was a new chapter, a new torment. Clarke had left - hadn't even said goodbye. And Bellamy and the others were throwing themselves into training, or rebuilding Camp Jaha, well, it was actually called Arkadia now. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate their efforts or support them. But she was struggling. It had only been... what, a month? She didn't even know but so much had happened. There had been so much fighting, and so much death even before Mount Weather. How were any of them meant to be okay?
Leiana sniffed back her tears, refusing to be seen as weak, tired of being a burden to the group. Forcing her mind away from the turmoil and instead to the task at hand - inventory. She'd been one of the people tasked with cataloguing the items retrieved from Mount Weather, as well as the stock of items the Ark had landed with. It was mundane work but it kept her busy. Hearing the doors open across the room behind her, she watched Kane enter.
There had been some animosity between them for a little while but regardless Leia was grateful for him. He'd done what he could to save them from the Mountain Men. So she offered him a brief smile before resuming her work.

❧ She caught the movement out of the corner of her eye, even with her limited vision. Leiana turned the stranger, making certain that her shoulders were squared and the tremble threatening to make her kneels give out was not visible. It was true that Leiana was not a fighter but she would not make killing her an easy task, not even for a grounder. So when the stranger, Etera she'd introduced herself as moved closer, Leiana was careful to take a step back to keep some distance between them. "Given what has been done to us by your 'brothers' and 'sisters', I am sure you can understand my hesitations to trust you." Leia said, still watching the woman as she sat down. The others were still close by; Monty and Jasper were laughing loudly, some of the girls were giggling, singing, encouraging drinking games. If anything was to happen they would be there to help. Leiana cast a glance in their direction before retaking her seat opposite Etera.
She sighed softly. "What do you want to know?"

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Leiana was nothing in not intuitive, so when that rock, or stone, or acorn, or whatever it was, landed at her feet with a dull thus, she'd known what it meant. And she'd known better then to go gallivanting into the forest without any hesitations whatsoever. The trees had eyes and ears, was home to the Grounders. And after one of them had through a spear, a real goddamn spear, into Jasper's chest, only to then string him up as bait, the delinquents had learned to be more careful.
But still she felt their eyes on them every night, watching and waiting for the right opportunity. She moved slowly at first, standing and stretching her limbs, so that it did not immediately appear that she intended to leave the relative safety of their camp. She slowly moved away from the others, brushing a hand against the knife that was strapped to her thigh, and remembering the one hidden in her boot.
As she moved deeper into the trees, eyes scanning the area with limited vision, she called out. "I know you are there." Leiana was careful to not alert the others just yet, but also careful that she stayed close enough to camp to be able to call for backup. "We do not want trouble with you. We just want to survive, the same as you. So I'm asking nicely that you leave before this situation escalates."

❧ There was no subtle way to force the book deeper between the cushions, no way to hide the stiff and awkward way she cleared her through and moved around the couch toward Malia. "No, no." She said a little to quickly, trying desperately to shift attention away from herself and onto Malia. "What's going on? What can I help you with?" She'd moved to stand a few feet away, smiling through her embarrassment. hands on her hips and posture open to block Malia looking deeper into the room.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ It had been a hard few months, or years, honestly she couldn't remember how long had passed since they hit the ground running. Surviving was not easy, came with challenges none of them could have expected but against all the odds that was what they were doing--surviving. Somehow. Leiana was grateful she did not need to do it alone. Even now, after the horror they had ensured, she had people to count on, people to call friends and family. Even now she wasn't alone. Bellamy was there on the cot beside her, breathing deeply, no doubt lost in his thoughts of how he would get them through another day. He carried the weight of the world on his shoulders--like the titan Atlas. He personified the quality of endurance. Leiana felt lucky to being here with him. The tips of her fingers lightly skimmed his forehead as she brushed dark locks from his eyes, and then her palms caressed hows face, gently tracing his freckles as she encouraged him to look at her. Yeah. She was lucky.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Leiana was not quite certain what to say or really how to feel in that moment. There was a part of her that felt uncomfortable, even quite disgusted, having someone else', blood in her veins. It felt like Mount Weather all over again. But the extent Clarke was willing to go to protect and save her friends was heartwarming.
There was a wave of adoration felt for the Commander of Death. Clarke's devotion to her friends was without compare, without fail. She had proven her loyalty at the drop ship, and then again at Mount Weather, and then again at the Conclave. Leiana had lost count of how many times she had saved them all, lost count of all the things she had done for them.
And there there was the knowledge that she was a nightblood now. Leiana would need to learn to live with that. But they were both safe and together. "Thank you." Leia said softly, her mouth in a gentle smile. Her movements were slow but she placed her hand atop of hers. "For everything."

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Her breathing was erratic and wild, impossible to catch. Inside her lungs were burning, desperate for air as she hyperventilated. Leia was doubled-over, clinging to Gena's hand as thought it was the only thing that grounded her when trauma threatened to consume. "I can't... Gena, I can't..." There were tears streaking down her cheeks as the memories continued their assault. Leiana remembered how peaceful the mountain had seemed, how perfect it was, a paradise found in a world trying to destroy them.
She had loved being in Mount Weather. All that history. Real food. A real bed. Books! There had been so many books. It was home... until Clarke pointed out their flaws. And than the bubble had burst. The secrecy of their posts came to the light; the superficial charm of Cage Wallace peeling away like the snakes skin. She remembered wanting to escape with Clarke, how hopeless she had felt while trapped inside and separated from her dearest friend. But words of all was that she still felt the restraints around her ankles, how her flesh was torn open and bones drilled into.
Just the mechanical whir of a power tool back at Camp Jaha would send her into a panic. There wasn't even a concern that she was appearing weak in front of Gena and the others. There was just the fear that she might not escape the mountain this time. "Gena... please don't let me go. Don't leave me alone in there..."
