So many things had changed. The people they had once seen off into the bunker were changed. The people she almost gave her life for were changed. And she herself was changed. She had a child to take care of now. And then there was the feeling of being utterly detached. One group has become a family, the other, essentially a cult, having formed into a unit Clarke could no longer see a beginning or end in. It was distressing to her. Things had changed, perhaps too much for her? Clarke sat in front of the tent outside of the bunker that she had taken residence in for the time being. She could see darkness rise on the horizon, not just the night, but another war, another time of pain, hardship and death. In the time she and Madi had been alone, she had hoped she would no longer have to fight or watch people die.
And suddenly she saw it, a smile she was so familiar with. She was a friend who had always been there for Clarke even though Clarke often had to distance herself from her and others. She always made an effort to try and understand and Clarke could be honest with her, even with the deep dark secrets she had to hide away from most others. Clarke stood, she held up her hand before she even thought. "Leia!" She called out and then it hit her. What if she, too, had changed? Like Niylah had. Could she take losing her like that, too? Certainly not. But then again not facing her was just delaying the inevitable.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ It was funny how day by day nothing ever seemed to change... but when looking back everything was different. How long had it been since she had felt free, not trapped by the circumstances she and the other delinquents had been forced into when they were sent to Earth? How long had it been since she and Clarke had been together? It had been forever and a day. But there it was--a familiar voice calling her name, a familiar blonde head of hair, a familiar smile, a familiar skipping of her heart when she saw the woman through deteriorating vision.
"Clarke!" Leiana was running then, stumbling slightly, laughing, crying, as the emotions overcame her. There was relief from seeing her dearest friend alive and well as well as happiness. A touch of lingering anger from it having been so long since they had been together. Leiana practically tackled Clarke. Her arms going around the woman as she clung to her, crying freely, tears of happiness. "Clarke! You're alive! I can't believe it!"

Everything seemed horrible in this place. She had peace and now her friends were so changed, changed that she didn't feel like she could connect with them anymore. She had feared Leia to be similar. Why would she be the exception? Niylah was so very different, Octavia was unrecognizable. She even saw it in Bellamys eyes, he, too, did barely recognize his sister. She didn't think that look was possible. And yet it was happening. But then there was Leia. There she was, her arms around her, warm, welcoming and just as she had remembered it. A single tear slid over Clarkes cheek. She was so glad to be able to hold Leia again. There was so much she had been through and she had changed, too, but she knew the old Clarke was still there. She still wanted her friend. She still wanted to be close to Leiana.
"I...am, too." She said. "When I heard so many died, I feared you were one of them." And it was possible. But she was kind, too kind for this place, she felt. And yet she survived. She was so glad. "I am so glad to see you!" She gently stroked through her friends dark hair and smiled at her. "So much changed. I have a kid now...basically at least." And she guessed some things happened with Leia. "You will have to come to Shallow Valley with us. You will love your village. So many colors. We have berries and fish and can you believe I can actually cook now? Not half bad even."

❧ Hands had fluttered along Clarke's body, touching here and there, simply because Leiana could hardly believe this was real. She had longed and waited, and wished to see her dearest friend again. She had wanted the world to be right, calm, peaceful, happy, because that's what they deserved. Not to be trapped in space. Not to be trapped with people that hated them. But this, having Clarke in her arms again, it was something and it made her incredibly happy. Words would not begin to describe the extent of her happiness. "You're a mother? Clarke that is incredible!" Leiana had never envisioned Clarke, or any of the delinquents, to be parents but she knew that her friend would be an amazing mother. Colours. Berries. Real food. It sounded to good to be true. "That sounds so amazing. I can't want to go there with you."

"Madi is amazing." She said, happy to talk about her adoptive daughter. She was truly amazing, so strong, so clever, so mischievous. She was a delight to live with. She guessed Leiana would love Madi, too. Madi sure as hell would love to meet her, she knew that already. Clarke had told her all about her best friend and all the others. She loved these stories and Clarke loved to remember her friends. Her encounter with Bellamy showed her, that a lot had changed in these six years and yet Madi was excited to meet them all. Maybe things would remain similar than to what it was before. Maybe that, too would change a lot. "She knows a lot about you guys already, I told her so many stories." In her memories and in Madis mind they were all alive and closeby and....important. Even though they weren't closeby and were changing and some had clearly left her behind.
"What is up in this place here? The bunker seems...strange." Almost militaristic, like a second opionion wasn't allowed at all and thus...they seemed opressed and like they were collectively hiding something. It seemed like and environment that would oppress people and her spirit. It sounded like an environment she couldn't thrive in. "I can't see how you possibly....survived here even. It seems terribly opressive! What happened here?"

❧ Stories, Leiana laughed out loud and wiped the tears from her cheeks. There was so much to tell Clarke's daughter; their life on the Ark, when they'd first come to Earth, the Grounders attack, the Mountain Men, The Coalition. And there was still more. It had been six long years since their been closed in the bunter. So much had happened and most of it was not good. Leiana shivered when Clarke mentioned it.
"A lot happened." She answered, not really elaborating on it. "It was hard for a while. There was a lot of fighting. The twelve clans all hated us. Our own people were creating mutiny to keep the grounders hungry." Leiana had not forgiven Kara for what she'd done because it was in part her fault. But in truth they all had a part to play. Each of them had all been compliant to the dark time.
"Octavia... she... she kept us strong." Blodreina had alive through means that were taboo, and with far reaching ramifications. It was one horrible moment after the next. Leiana wondered when it would stop. When they would have time to simply sit down and breathe again. "It's a conversation we should have in private, just us."
