And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The first few night after escaping Mount Weather she had spent crying herself to sleep. What the delinquents had gone through was... horrible and she still had nightmares about it; she couldn't stop her mind from going back to it. It was so much worse for Clarke and Bellamy Her heart broke for the both of them, knowing what they had done to save their people. Except Clarke was gone. She'd left them. Leiana had wanted to go after her, to try and help her. But for the first few days she just couldn't convince herself to leave her room. She was terrified that she'd wake up and still be in Mount Weather... watching Jasper getting closer to Maya... worrying about where Clarke was... being experimented on...
Finally she'd decided that she needed to get busy. She needed to find something to do to keep her mind from reliving what had happened, from concocting scenarios of what would have happened if... Leiana closed her eyes tight to stop that thought. She couldn't think about it. It would end up making her break down crying again. She she had made a decision -- she was going to learn to fight. She was going to learn to defend herself so that no one could take advantage of her again... so that she wasn't such an easy target.
Leia took a deep, calming breath before knocking as she entered his room. "Bellamy... do you have a minute?" She wasn't looking at him, was talking softly. There wasn't anyone else she trusted to help her other then Bellamy. Clarke was gone... there was no one else for her to turn to except him and she hated that. He had done so much for her and the delinquents already, he had guilt filling his heart, eating at him. But keeping busy just might help him also. If he taught her how to fight, how to handle a gun, it might just be enough to keep his mind what had happened at Mount Weather... off of what he had done.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy hated night time. When all others were asleep, and he was forced alone with his thoughts. There was only so much he could do without someone else taking notice and forcing him to retire to his room. But he hated it. Every time he closed his eyes, he could see them. He could hear them. The people he had gotten to know, the people who had placed their trust in him, the innocent children . . . he had killed them all.
He had barley heard the footsteps approached and only turned his head to look at the door when he heard a voice: Leiana. There was a very, strong loyalty that Bellamy had to the delinquents in particular. He had a great deal to make up for and going into Mount Weather to help save them barley covered it. "Sure," he responded, relieved for some sort of distraction, though at the same time, was concerned that something was wrong. "Everything ok?" He asked, wanting to make sure. While he knew that nothing was ok, no one was okay . . . he just hoped there was no other immediate threat. They needed time to recover from Mount Weather, for the emotional and psychological scars would take far longer to heal -- if they ever would -- compared to the physical ones.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Leiana hated how his first instinct was to question if everything was okay. It shouldn't have been that way; they shouldn't have always been assuming the worst would happen. Being asked that question threatened to undo her. She blinked back the tears that welled in her eyes and sniffed indigently. She wasn't okay... not by a long shot. She was all alone, Clarke had left her without saying a thing, and she was frightened of everything. Leiana was struggling function most days and didn't know how to heal herself. So no, everything wasn't okay.
"Can you define okay because I don't know the meaning anymore...." She said, forcing out a laugh as she moved to sit on the edge of his bed. Her words were sarcastic, poking fun at a sensitive issue and pulling at the stitches of her barely healed heart. It was a horrid defense mechanism she had learnt since being on the ground. She she poked fun at the painful issues first, others didn't. Leia took a deep breath, trying to calm herself and keep the tears and emotions at bay.
She didn't want to think about Mount Weather, not now, not ever. "I wanted to ask you a favor." She said after a moment. Leiana wasn't looking at him, didn't think she could without the guilt eating at her manifesting into hysteria. "I want you to teach me how to fight. Please."

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Such was true. No one quite knew what 'ok' meant, but it was the generic response. The only one that they knew how to give at this point. "Most of us don't," he reassured, normalizing that uncertainty of what ok even meant anymore. When she began to ask for a favour, he listened intently, and paused when she revealed what it was. She wanted to learn how to fight. Truth be told . . . he wasn't entirely surprised. And while there was a time of 'peace' right now, with the ceasefire, it wasn't going to last. The war was far from over.
His mind went back to when they first arrived on the ground; first found out there were others. He had tried to train those who he could, but he had only been a Cadet up in the ark. Now . . . they had the full team down there, and while he knew there was a place for him on the Guard, he also knew that there were others who wanted in on it as well. "Fight how?" He asked, wondering if she wanted to know weapons, hand to hand, or both. "Fight as in, join the guard or just basics?" He wondered if she was asking this as a personal favour or, if she wanted to really be trained how a guard member would be.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Leiana pondered his question for a moment, weighing the options. She wasn't a fighter, they all knew that, and having her on the guard would only put more of a burden on them. She couldn't do that when they were already struggling to rebuild after Mount Weather. "The basics, I guess..." She finally replied, sounding a little helpless. "I just... I want to be able to defend myself." She began to elaborate. Leia sighed softly and finally looked at him, her expression defeated. "I'm tired of being a target, being the one people hurt. I don't want you to have to keep fighting for me."
Maybe if she could have thrown a decent punch she could have helped with his Militia, or done better in Mouth Weather. Maybe it was all just wishful thinking. All she knew was that she was so tired of people taking advantage of her being weak. She wanted to help, herself and them.
