Luna iahLexa wasn't too keen on drinking suspicious liquids though they were unable to get off the little island without it. They'd reached the peak, set off the signal with green flames and soon they had been greeted by stern looking warriors. They had to look strong, stern and intimidating - less likely for others to try and cajole them into a fight and if this really was the way to the peaceful clan, Lexa understood completely. Words and looks mattered when it came to potential fights. Sometimes a word could diffuse what would be a sword fight or a look to quell the fist fight. Brought up to be a warrior, to kill, to lead, Lexa's body had tensed in anticipation of battle. It was habit, it was instinct and she stayed her hand and her blade because she didn't want to spill blood.
She'd taken the liquid with Ontari, if this would kill them then she didn't want to see her die. All it did was make her sleepy, and she couldn't even feel the sand hit her when she collapsed unconscious. Nothing mattered in her mind. They were taken to the rig, placed rather gently into the container before they would go tell Luna of their presence. Lexa could have stayed asleep. They'd been on the run and hiding for so long with Lexa being unable to sleep well because of all the dangers. But the moment Ontari spoke, the tremble in her voice, pulled Lexa from the murky depths to open up her eyes, the groggy feeling persisted. Unlike the rest of the times she woke up, going from sleep mode to alert in the blink of literally an eye. This was horrible.
Her lower half was on the cold hard ground, her upper half cradled by her Sun and she looked up with that self same groggy expression. "I'm here, I'm okay. Are you?" Lexa asked, trying to think through the fog in her brain. Last thing she remembered was taking the liquid and then waking up. Before that was the anxious wait for the grounders to arrive to shore. Her memory intact, nothing seemed missing or out of place. Just something to knock out guests so they didn't see the way to where they were now. That was how they stayed secret and protected, but where were they? Lexa looked around, the metal rusted in some places, clean in the others. Holes littered the sides and even above, the sunlight peeking through.
"Sun, did we make it?" Her voice low, in wonder. Constantly thinking, her mind never stopping, she saw what Ontari may not have. And that was okay, they balanced out each other. Lexa would not have gotten this far, or survived this long, without her. Giving Ontari a half armed squeeze hug(hugging in her position was rather difficult), Lexa pulled herself to her feet to look around. She noticed her swords were not on her back, their constant weight now absent. The knives on her person were also removed. Any weapons were taken, leaving them with the clothes on their back and their lives intact. Lexa supposed she should thank them for that much. "Is anyone out there? We're awake." Lexa called. And full of questions.

LunaThe future wasn't something she liked to think about. On one hand becoming Heda would be no greater honor but that meant her fellow Nightbloods would be dead. Those who she grew up with, trained with, spent time around, all gone. When Luna sat upon the bed, Lexa moved a little closer to her, closing the small gap between them. There wasn't often a lot of time for contact and that alone was hard. Sometimes all she wanted was a hug, or a simple touch of the hand and often that couldn't happen.
Their future was sure to keep anyone up at night, even Lexa who was adamant in doing her duty as a nightblood. She was a good litte natblida but even so, she was still allowed to care and feel, it just wasn't shown as much. She took Titus's teachings more to heart mainly in hopes that he knew something that would help quell the inner emotional turmoil. He was their teacher and she trusted him to know it. "That's enough to keep anyone awake." Lexa commented with a slight nod of her head, her heart seemingly twisting it an unknown grip.
Aside from the other nightbloods, she didn't really have anyone. An only child, her parents out of her life, she had come to Polis alone. Lexa dipped her head, a small smile on her features, one of relief and full of her grateful feelings. "Thank you. I really appreciate that." Luna asked the question that even Lexa didn't have the answer too and as she stared ahead, her mind whirling with thoughts buzzing like flies, it was hard to pinpoint an accurate theory. "I'm not sure. I was tired earlier but when I tried sleeping, my brain just wouldn't shut down."
Lexa paused to take a breath. "Is there anything I can do to help distract your mind?" Her fingers reached out for Luna's hand to draw a half circular pattern, her own way of asking for a hug because frankly, that was what she needed right now. Well, one of the things she needed right now.

LunaSleep was eluding her. No matter how much she tried, she just could not fall asleep. It was rather aggravating since she had been tired at dinner and now? Now when she actually needed it it was gone. Wide awake. Thoughts of the day and of training constantly going over in her head. Why now? Lexa had shoved her face in her pillow, trying hard not to snarl. Sleep, precious sleep, she wanted it but it just wasn't going to happen.
A knock at her door alerted her to someone else that couldn't sleep as as she rolled over, her eyes staring at the door and now in the darkness of the pillow. The knocker emerged and she saw who it was, the light framing the Natblida who she looked up to the most out of all the Natblida's here. And despite her irritation at her being unable to sleep, she still managed to smile.
"It's okay, you didn't wake me. Sleep is being rather elusive." Lexa said, sitting up and moving over slightly so that Luna could sit down on the bed if she wanted. Much more comfortable than the floor. "Everything okay?" It wasn't often she had visitors at night and Luna coming in here wasn't unwelcome - she was glad for the company, especially her Natblida sister. That meant she didn't have to be alone with her thoughts and didn't have to try and figure out how the hell she was going to sleep.
Patting the blankets down was a sign for Luna to come sit with her. "You don't have to talk if you just want to sit. But I'm here for you."

Marcus KaneKane was right and she dipped her head in understanding, not at all pertubed by the held up hand. She took it for what it was - friendship not an order considering he was one of the few that seemed to understand and respect her and her tough position. They'd done things they regretted in the name of protecting their people and though many didn't see it that way, it was the truth. All her life, her training had been for her people. Her people came first, their safety and protection and if that meant doing things that they might not agree with then fine. Didn't mean she couldn't feel about the effects, and the mountain was just one of them. Though she regretted it and felt guilt, she had thought it was the best course of action at the time.
Just as the summit and inducting Skaikru into the coalition was the best course of action for their future. Like it or not, they had to share the earth now and some of her people(and she used the term her people lightly) were highly against that. She understood them to a point, and even more so if they were the enemy but they weren't. And if they wanted a future they needed to work together and have peace.
Gently she took the patch, her fingers running along the stitching. It had been years since she paid any close attention to it, but she paid more attention to the fingers that wrapped around hers, her eyes flicking up to stare Kane in the face as if to ask why did he dare grab her in such a manner? The tension that flared in her shoulders abated slightly as her mind shifted, telling her this wasn't a threat and to calm down. Her mind also began to form thoughts regarding their conversation and it was at that moment did she realize that he might know her. In fact she was sure of it, the way he breathed the question in a shaky voice. "Amelia."
There was a pause.
"You knew her didn't you?"

iah"Millions. All up there, shining brightly." Lexa stared up at the skies as if she it held such a sway over her. The stars were magical and she often found herself thinking what was up there, beyond the stars. Was there even anything? There had to be. Their existence couldn't be the only one. Although anyone else might be considered a threat, they already had one enemy to deal with - those in the mountains had been their enemy for as long as Lexa could remember. Who knew if those she thought about were friend or foe. If anything even existed up there. Lexa didn't know and she knew it wasn't something she should be thinking about.
Never had she felt so nervous before, not even waiting to be reprimanded by Titus came close. This was different, this was showing someone she cared a great deal, the stars that she enjoyed watching at night, finding them beautiful and calming. And from here it was possible to see much more of the bright lights in the skies compared to being in their rooms. Her eyes glittered with the stars reflections as she gazed up, a soft smile on her features as she took in the sights. Though the stars were gorgeous, it had nothing on the beauty of the natblida beside her. "I'm glad you think so too. Nothing is more beautiful than the twinkling stars. Well, there is one thing more beautiful."
Ontari squeezing her hand seemed to give her courage that she needed in that moment even if Ontari didn't exactly know it. "And that is you. And I know how cheesy it sounds but it's true. I like you Tari; more than just a friend. My heart beats faster when I'm with you." Lexa realized how she sounded and yet she couldn't stop the words from flowing from her mouth. "I understand if you don't feel the same way but I had to tell you how I feel." She felt it was important and she didn't know why, just that she did. Under the stars seemed like a good way to tell someone how they felt and it wasn't the reason why she brought Tari out here.
Originally it was to show her the view. And had she not have had that spur she wouldn't have even said a word. Of course now she was left to wonder if that had been such a smart idea. Their hands were let go, she wondered when that happened, and so she was free to move around the clearing. She padded closer to the edge, where the opening revealed the skies and the tower of Polis before them. The leaves remained green though in the dark it was hard to tell it's exact coloring. Similarly, the darkness hide the fact she was blushing, her cheeks reddening, hot to the touch. She was regretting the words the moment they had come from her mouth, too late to take them back and now she had to wait for Tari to respond.
All while butterflies did their little dance in the pit of her belly, her features holding some of what she was feeling but otherwise it was trying to be stoic, waiting for the worst case scenario.

LEXA KOM TRIKRU Lexa hadn't known the truth behind that symbol, let alone the fact it was a religious symbol. What he was saying made sense, though she didn't know much about their life up in the skies. How hard it must have been to not be on land! Although, she supposed that those were born there had no idea what land was like so they weren't missing out on much. "I'm glad you were able to come back to earth. Even if it hasn't been easy between our people. For that I can only apologize." She had originally thought they were allies of the mountain and Trikru had been quick to attack. Oh how wrong she'd been.
"Were you able to bring the last Tree back to earth?" She was generally curious, hoping that it had survived with them when they came down.
"She had it with her when she was brought into the village. They had asked her why she held it with such fervor and she told them that it was a reminder of the better days of her youth." Lexa remembered the words as though they had been told to her yesterday. She had been angry and upset and threatened to throw the patch into the river until one of her elders told her the story. It had been important to her mother and though she was no longer around, the patch was a reminder that she had live. "Do what you want with it but remember, do not decide when you are angry or all you will feel will be regret." is what the elder had finished up with.
"My mother died when I was born. They say when she came into the village, she was broken and pregnant. She lived long enough to give birth before she succumbed to her injuries. Everything I know about her and that patch is what the village elders told me." He needed to know that she couldn't exactly answer all his questions regarding the tree symbol, not because she didn't want to but because she didn't have the information. She swallowed back the emotion that rose up, the need to know her mother but that in itself was impossible. She was dead. The dead were gone, the living were hungry. Hadn't she said those words back during the peace talks in the village?
"It's the only thing I have of her." Lexa could not finish the sentence: if it's important to you, you can have it but the words just didn't come. blood must have blood Marcus Kane

Queen NiaIt was the dagger that gave her comfort, the cool bite of the blade against the tips of her fingers kept her calmer than she should have been. Oh it was a pity she couldn't strike Nia down where she stood but that was not the best plan of action and Lexa knew that. Striking Nia without provocation would only serve to have Azgeda retaliate and that was the worst thing that could happen. Azgeda was strong, she needed them in the coalition, not having them trying to rip out her throat.
Nia answered her, acting as though she was the one to make the decision. That was fine, Lexa wasn't about to argue with the words or the way it was spoken. She'd gotten her answer, she'd gotten Azgeda under a little bit more control and she had punished Nia all at the same time. It may not be proper in terms of justice, no blood must have blood but it was something. And right now Lexa would take that over anything else because this was the only way to make her enemy suffer.
"So be it. Once his banishment is official and in effect, then your initiation into the coalition will begin." By initiation she was referring to the branding and everything behind that. Including a summit of all the representatives to welcome Azgeda. No-one could say she wasn't a merciful Heda. Though this wasn't done by emotion but logic and she was thinking several steps ahead with this and not just of the tomorrow.
Now for the matter at hand. Banishing the prince. Did Nia bring him to Polis or was he still in Azgeda? Either way, he would be banished, it just depended on how long until he was for if he was in Azgeda that meant taking a trip to the ice lands.

Clarke GriffinLexa allowed herself a small smile at the words, trying to keep herself from expending too much energy from movements and gestures. She was tired and it was a tired that went deep into her bones. A sense of tiredness that she had never felt before, as it her very soul had become weary. "It's very rare for us to do what you have done. Not many have been able to chase away death, not even our most gifted healers."
Okay, so the bed wasn't exactly huge like the one in her room but she was actually meaning for Clarke to be on the bed, not stuck in the chair. Lexa thought of the logics behind it, and although she didn't exactly like it, could understand. All she wanted was comfort and Clarke being in the chair would be comfort enough because she was there. That was all she could really ask and technically it was staying there, right? Clarke left the bedside to fetch a fur blanket, of that they had plenty and didn't move even as she left her line of sight.
With Clarke there, Lexa felt safe. If anything happened, not that she planned for things to happen, but if they did, Clarke would know what to do. Lexa was astounded by her skill, a skill that went above even many of her own healers, and wondered if she would impart any wisdom to their healers. Maybe not too.
For now she was content just to be alive, to have Clarke near her. It wasn't every day that Lexa got to rest and as weird as it felt, her body seemed to crave it. Her eyes fluttered, closing as sleep took over the commander, her sleeping form looking younger than she was.

Lexa had no idea just how close to home her comment was. For her, Lexa had only said the importance because if something happened to either one it wasn't going to bode well. The consequences of Lexa getting injured would be retaliation. The consequences of Ontari getting injured, though she wasn't Heda or even a leader could cause retaliation. Not that it would but it might. Ontari was technically Nia's second and that was important enough in Lexa's eyes. If her second got injured or killed while showing a guest around she'd be pretty pissed. The Queen herself didn't enjoy her pets being hurt unless she was the one doing the hurting. Lexa had learned that first hand.
Those that knew her knew that she thought several steps ahead most of the time. She had to, though even she couldn't see all the potential outcomes. Lexa getting injured would mean retaliation. Ontari getting blamed for something that wasn't even her fault was even worse. While they'd gotten away from most of those in the marketplace, it didn't mean they were still safe. Someone could easily come by and launch an attack and it was those she was more wary of rather than those in the marketplace. "I want to avoid anything that will get us both harmed." Lexa responded flatly. She wasn't going to give her true answer in this case and it certainly wasn't to get information about Nia.
"We both know how angry she can get." Lexa spoke calmly as if they were merely talking about something like the weather and not the leader of Azgeda. "Though I've never had that anger turned on me quite like you have, I've still experienced it." Nia had not been able to unleash her fury when Lexa demanded she banish her only son. It wasn't something she wanted to do but needed to in order to reign in the Queen who thought she was all powerful. Aside from the mountain, Azgeda was the biggest threat to herself and the coalition so the less power they had the better it was for the rest of them. "You don't, of course, have to say anything." She didn't need Ontari to confirm or try to deny such a thing especially when she figured Ontari might think this was a trap.
They were on opposing sides, Lexa from Trikru, Ontari from Azgeda. "I'm not going to do anything that would endanger you." Why was she still talking?

Lexa wouldn't have thought about running away if it hadn't been brought up. Now though, it was all she could think about, knowing the sooner they left the better it would be. They'd get a decent head start before it was realized that two natblidas were missing and with both of them at their skill level, they'd be able to stay ahead. Lexa had no doubt their survival rate would be high and if they could find the clan were there was peace, not war, they'd be able to settle down and start a new life. The idea of not having to fight was a beautiful one. Lexa wanted to see the world, not fight every day.
There was a worry that they might not find a safe place. If the peaceful clan didn't exist then their options became much more limited, their survival would become just that little bit harder. But they could go it. They had to. All she wanted was a life with her Sun, a life of happiness and joy where they could just be themselves. To be free. And this was their chance. Why not take it just because of the risks? Shouldn't they take it because of the risks? There was no backing out now and Lexa didn't want to back out. Doing so would condemn them to death and that was not something she was willing to live with. Running away had their best odds of surviving together and that was something she was going to grab with both hands.
She reached over to where her clothing was stashed and pulled several items out including outer wear for the cold nights ahead. Warm clothing on the ouside, lighter clothing on the inside. It also acted as a bit of armor though did nothing to deter her movements. Weapons on the other hand were not stored in her room. Her favorite sword was located with the other weapons which meant a little detour before they would be able to leave Polis. "It was your plan all along." Lexa smiled as she realized that this was the plan from the moment Tari had entered the room and before. "My sword is with the others." Lexa made sure she had everything else she wanted before she peered out into the hallway.
The hallway was clear, no-one was awake and with that Lexa exited the room and began to make her way towards the weapon storage. Though she knew the urgency of needing to leave as soon as possible, she still needed to be careful and make little noise as possible. Guards were still stationed in and around Polis, that much hadn't changed. She kept that in mind, watching out as she took the familair path to the weapons storage, pausing every so often when she heard a sound that didn't come from them. Highly unlikely for guards or even Titus to catch them out of bed. This wasn't like sneaking out to see the stars. Guards were stationed to keep an eye on things. Titus was busy doing his duty which meant not looking for the roaming natblidas.
Making it to the weapons storage, Lexa was able to unlock it with years of practice going in to get her weapons for training. Tucked away was her sword, her pride and joy and she reached towards it, fingers curling around the sheathe. Picking it up, she gave it a few seconds of fond expression before she slipped her arm around the strap and hoisted it on her back. Another sword caught her eye and as she stared at it, knowing she needed to go, she reached out and took that one as well, the sword going on her back like the first. Two swords were better than one and she was proficient in dual weilding. It was rare that she got to use her skill with both swords but she was thinking of the future.
Making sure she didn't leave without Ontari, Lexa made sure they were still together. "Ready to go?"

The conclave had never invoked as much fear as it had that night. It was a very real possibility of having to do her duty though she thought their commander would live longer than this; not to mention her fear had amped up when she had fallen in love with Ontari. It was why she never thought about the conclave, as much as humanely possible. She avoided talking about it too much, focused on other words instead when Titus brought the subject up. She had mastered the art of looking as though she was paying him attention rather than ignoring certain words and phrases.
"If being a good little natblida means killing you then I don't want to be a good little natblida anymore." Lexa replied, her emotions slipping through her voice rather than holding them back. Being the good little natblida was what she knew. What she was and the words didn't hurt as much as they reminded her what would happen if they entered the conclave. A shiver coursed through her body, making her tremble and she didn't bother hiding that either. Instead she curled up closer into Tari's frame, gaining comfort and warmth that otherwise eluded her.
'We can't do our duty.' Lexa agreed with Tari's words, giving a quick nod to show she agreed with her. But how would they not to their duty? What could they even do? It was Tari who had the answer it seemed, to run away and yet Lexa wasn't sure where they could run to. She wasn't saying no to the words, thinking about it more on the side of where they could go to. If they ran, they'd be dubbed traitors of the blood and could be hunted down and killed if the next commander wished for it. Lexa wasn't worried about herself but for Tari, her Sun though she knew this wasn't a choice based on just fear alone. Very real thought had been put behind this just as she was thinking about it now. Thoughts such as a small village half a days walk from Polis had horses that they could use to travel further rather than rely on foot.
Or part of the rivers that crossed through Trikru, the point shallow each to safely collect water and deep enough to fish for eels. Was it crazy that she was even considering it? Leave everything behind that she knew fot a future where her and Tari survived? A few years ago she had asked Tari if she trusted her. Though she hadn't been asked that question, Lexa felt it deep within her bones. I asked her if she trusted me. Now it's my turn to trust her. It was a crazy plan, absolutely insane. And yet as she looked into Tari's eyes in the dim light of her room, all she could do was nod her head.
"I'll run with you anywhere." Lexa spoke, clearing her throat since she had been so quiet. "I'm not sure how much we can take now but remember those villages south of Polis? We can pick up supplies there." The village that helped people on their way, no matter who they were. Of course Lexa had never been there; she just heard stories from those that did whenever she milled about in the markets. Slowly she uncurled herself from Tari to pull herself to her feet, her hand still clasped around hers. "We leave together."

It was funny how a few years ago, Lexa's focus had been on the future. Train to become the next heda, the idea of killing her siblings wasn't exactly a strong thought back then. Just something that needed to be done in order to fulfill her duty. And oh how Titus was so proud of her - her dedication and her strength and her willingness to learn. It was amazing how quickly thoughts could change, from a girl who wanted to do her duty to a girl who didn't want to participate in the conclave. How could she kill the girl she was in love with? Because love was weakness, or so Titus liked to say constantly. Well that wasn't good enough, why couldn't she have both? Because only one natblida could come out as the victor. Only one could become heda.
Lexa swallowed the feelings that threatened to surface, wanted to reach over and hold Ontari tightly and promise her that it would be okay - except that would be a lie. "The conclave." Was all Lexa said in response to her words of it being tomorrow. There was no joy or anticipation that lingered on her features but resignation and sadness. If she could curl up and cry then she would but that had been knocked out of her years ago. Crying in front of others wasn't something she did - alone yes but not around others. She didn't even think she cried in front of Ontari. Not born out of fear that she would use it against her, but just a vulnerable side she didn't show anyone. Act strong, she had to act strong even when she felt weak.
Like now.
As Ontari clambered onto the bed, holding onto Lexa, she returned the gesture and scooted a little closer, keeping Tari as close to her as possible without ending in each others laps. Her heart leaped into her throat, constricting her ability to speak even as she listened to the words. Of course she didn't want to kill anyone. Ontari was a fierce but gentle spirit. "I don't want to kill you either. I can't. I love you too much. I don't care what Titus says." Lexa almost growled out the name of their teacher, though the rest of her tones were soft, just above a whisper. At this point she hoped to be matched up against someone else and be killed, just to spare Tari from that pain. Well, pain of killing, not the pain of grief. "I always looked at the conclave as doing my duty. Be the good little natblida. But how can they ask us to fight and kill? I don't want to do my duty if it means losing you."
And that was her biggest fear. Losing Tari. Whether it was by death or some other force that Lexa didn't know about. She could not lose her. She cuddled a little bit tighter against her frame, leaning with her head on Tari's shoulder and just listening to her heart beat and the way she breathed. It wasn't her nightmare, of being alone in the dark, that scared her anymore. It was the conclave. How stupid and naive she was to think she could think differently about it. "What do we do?"

The news had been shocking and terrifying all at once. Their Heda was dead, cut down in their prime and Lexa had felt the tril of grief at her fallen teacher and commander, the shock of the death and then the terror of what it all meant. When the current heda died, the natblida novitiates entered the conclave with the winner being chosen by the spirit of the commander. When the natblida entered the conclave, it meant a fight to the death - all of their training was not only preparing them for leading but for killing each other.
Killing each other.
Killing Luna but most of all, killing Ontari. When the news broke all she could think about was Tari, about the light and love of her life. So distraught that she barely ate and then when she bathed and went to bed, she spent half the night staring up at the ceiling, her body trembling and digust pooling in her stomach. She couldn't kill Tari and she couldn't let Tari kill her either - the guilt would eat her alive no matter how strong she was. Lexa made no mistake - Tari was strong and she was so proud and in love that her heart ached. She'd fallen asleep, what miracles of miracles that was, and this time she wasn't dreaming but a nightmare of darkness and being utterly alone dominated her mind.
Her name was called, beckoning to her as she walked through the darkness, alone. Her eyes snapped opened, green visionaries peering at the figure before her and her heart began to race and slow down all at once with the nightmare falling to the wayside. Immediately she sat up, letting her body go from restfulness to alert. The use of 'star' sought a smile upon her lips, reminding her of the night under the skies where Lexa had woken Tari up just to sneak out to see them.
Lexa had struggled to find a nickname for Tari because all the ones she thought of sounded really bad. She thought about moon to be opposite her nickname of star but then it hit her. Sun. The true opposite of the moon and stars. The sun was bright, beautiful and warm - the same things that Tari was. Because without Tari, her life would be dark. Tari was that bright shining light and she needed her more than air itself.
As corny as that sounded.
Lexa's own fear was hidden behind her own mask though she saw Tari's fear as plain as day; much like Tari would probably be able to see her own fear in her eyes, the only place where her true expression showed. Not to mention they'd spent enough time together that Tari could read her unlike any of their other siblings. "Hey, it's okay, I'm awake now." She paused, reaching over for her hand for reassurance. "Talk to me, Sun. I'm not going anywhere." There had to be one reason why she was woken up. Fear of the conclave. What else could it be?
Oh how little did she know.

Lexa was used to being stared at and she was used to being alone. The others either watched her or went on their merry way, either way didn't bother her all that much. Good practice for becoming a leader as leaders were constantly watched. What wasn't watching her was the wall, still and silent as ever and something she could rely on just to stare at and not be stared at back. Sometimes it felt unnerving to have someone stare at her, mostly in training when they didn't blink. It was something she was getting used to, and getting over, because she knew how important it was not to feel unnerved. Commanders did not feel unnerved - they unnerved everyone else.
It was a knock at the door that called to her, pulling her to her senses just as she was spoken to, though she had been aware she wasn't alone. There was always that feeling you got when someone was close by, a sort of sixth sense for those that were trained to take note of the surroundings even when it wasn't on the forefront of the mind. She turned to face Ontari, the younger girl was always welcome to stop by if she ever wanted to. There was only a few years separating the two and other than Luna, Ontari was one of the ones closest in age. The rest were much younger. Even so, she respected all of her siblings, no matter their age or skill. They were family.
"Hey, Ontari." Lexa spoke as way of greeting, turning to face her fully rather than have her back turned. She lifted up a hand to push a few strands of hair behind an ear, smiling a little sheepishly. "I already ate. I wanted to get in more practice." Lexa explained, feeling like she had to. It was strange really, but she didn't want Ontari thinking bad of her. She cared for Tari like she cared for Luna even though she knew Luna longer, was closer to the older Natblida. They were more than just family. As Lexa watched Ontari with glittering green eyes, she knew what it was. Ontari was her sister. It was a silly thought to have since they weren't exactly the best of friends and she didn't want to openly admit that she felt that way in case Tari laughed at her.
"Have you eaten yet? It's important. Got to keep up our strength." Lexa inwardly winced at how 'teacherly' she sounded. Thing was, she didn't need to be teacherly. They were equals here, no-one above anyone else. She swallowed, her throat feeling raw with the emotions coursing through her body. Why was she so awkward?
