Costia LEXA KOM TRIKRU Lexa honestly didn't know where her fallen brothers and sisters blood ended and hers began; it all ran in dark lines across her skin, splashed across her face, her arms, her clothing. Almost as if she had taken a swim in their night blood. So covered in it that when she bathed, the clear waters had turned black.
There was no joy felt. Relief that she lived but other than that, there was nothing to celebrate. When her neck was sliced open so the Flame could be inserted she felt no joy. When her back and arm were tattooed to mark her Ascenion there had been no joy. A fierce desire to lead her people correctly and the ever present feeling of grief that she never let show on her features. You cannot show emotion, Lexa was told. To show emotion was to be weak. To show love was to be weak. Titus and his constant teachings; to be commander was to be alone, to bear the responsibility of her people.
It was an honor; if it was such an honor then why did she feel so defeated?
In the bedroom of the commander did she stand, near the window overlooking Polis. Hard to believe this was hers now, all the training, the fighting, the blood, sweat and tears. The deaths of her Natblida siblings. She didn't trust Titus for this task. No, she trusted Gustus and it was him she turned to, with her face devoid of emotions. "Bring Costia to me. Gently. I do not want her harmed." She commanded before turning back to look out the window. She didn't need to say anything else on the matter, and as Gustus left, Lexa was once again alone.
When she had last seen Costia, it was before the conclave. She had told her "this is goodbye, for now," because she had no intentions of losing. She'd been so naive. This wasn't winning. The dead had won, she had lost and there was nothing that could be said to sway her mind. She would have to live with the knowledge that she killed her Natblida siblings, all to become the Heda. Her floor length night robe covered some of the healing wounds from the battle. The open back meant the tattoos were clearly visible though she wasn't entirely sure how to feel about that.
For now she wanted Costia. The one sure thing in her unsure and unknown world and future. blood must have blood

LEXA KOM TRIKRU Seconds, that was all it took. Seconds from when she spoke to when someone dropped from one of the trees, Lexa slowly turned around to fact the intruder with the same neutral expression she always wore. She studied the other girl with cold eyes, taking a few paces forward before stopping, her hand that reached for her sword pulled it free from it's sheathe and pointed it her. Though she wore Trikru clothing as well, the rest was clearly Azgeda; Lexa was not stupid enough to not recognize those that came from the clan that had, for so long, been the enemy.
"You're not Trikru and yet you're here in Trikru territory. Tell me Azgeda, who are you and why are you here?" All she could assume was this was an assassination attempt, a very poor one as all things went, and that alone allowed her to bear arms the way she did. She had been watched and if she had been so much as a step careless, who knows what might have happened. Well, Lexa knew; not many could hope to fight her and win but that didn't maker her completely untouchable. If, by some slim chance she had been successfully attacked and killed, her guards would hunt down her murderer.
Thing was, she didn't want to fight. Though her body thrummed with energy, with adrenaline that made her as taut as a wire and ready to defend to the death, Lexa remained where she was rather than start an assault. So far all the other girl hadn't decided to launch an attack her way either which helped Lexa decide against beheading her. I'm not Nia. Lexa did not torture, kill and then cut someone's head off and send it to their lovers bed. "Are you alone or is there more of you in my territory?" Lexa asked, the very real threat of an ambush now on her mind. Her eyes swept the area, not hearing so much as a twig snap.
Azgeda was not Trikru. The forests were friends to Trikru, not to their enemy. She would be safe. For now. blood must have blood @mikhajay

Clarke Griffin ((ooc// welp, didn't take much convincing b/c Clarke has some really good points. so not sorry about Lexa keeping her close)) LEXA KOM TRIKRU Lexa knew what Clarke was referring to when she spoke about blood on their hands. That had been different. They needed to protect their inside man because without him the mission would have failed. Without him they never would have been able to march upon Mount Weather without getting acidic fog sent after them. Those who died in TonDC didn't know the end was near, most having died as the missle exploded. This was sending her people to die without them even having a fighting chance. Skaikru at least had a chance; they fought with guns like their enemy. They wouldn't be gunned down without a fight.
I would fight with you. I would consider it. That was what she had said in terms of if it had been Lexa's people still trapped within the mountain. The words repeated themselves over and over in her mind. Hours ago she had told Clarke that she trusted her. That alone had been huge for the Commander and now she had to show those words were not just spoken for the sake of it. She had to show she truly meant it, no matter how hard it was to put trust and faith in another. It took a lot of fighting with herself, internally, before she spoke. "Osir gonplei ogeda." Lexa stared into Clarke's eyes as she said it; we fight together.
Speaking of peace as a long term thing rather than short was something she thought about enough times. One of the reasons why she wanted to bring all twelve clans together so that they could have peace, no matter how fleeting. This could be long term for her people, and for Skaikru; no matter how much her people wanted the Sky people gone, Lexa knew them to be allies, not the enemy. Azgeda was more of a threat than Skaikru was and far less trusted if Lexa ever was honest enough with her feelings. And that was all because of one Azgeda; Nia. One day that Azgeda would pay dearly. Lexa could wait for as long as she had to.
Hand and arm extended as she went to shake hands with Clarke, as if to reaffirm their 'deal,' though this was more for Lexa to show her that she would stand with her all the way. She looked towards her people, her soldiers, and not just her soldiers but Skaikru as well. "Stay with me until we get inside and then go find your people. I'll make sure mine know that those who were not part of this are to be spared. We will all come home tonight." One last look at Clarke before she pulled her sword free from its sheathe, having no prior need when she had been making the deal. blood must have blood

Clarke Griffin LEXA KOM TRIKRU Searching the room with a piercing gaze, her eyes found what, no who she was searching for. Having expected to die, she didn't just take as much comfort from Clarke's presence as she could; she made sure that Clarke would remain safe until Aden or one of her other Natblida's became Heda. All of her Natblida's had promised to adhere to her wishes regarding Clarke and Skaikru, it just wasn't them she had been worried about. Titus had tried to kill Clarke in order to protect his Heda and in doing so he had almost killed his Heda instead.
She couldn't be too mad. All he did he did for his Heda and she knew that he would not break his promise to her. Knowing that meant she hadn't minded dying. Her spirit would choose wisely and everything would be okay(she kept telling herself). Still, she didn't really want to die. As ready and accepting as she was, there was that selfish part of her that did not want to leave Clarke. Not after everything that had happened. Not after knowing that the woman sleeping at her bedroom window was her soul mate. Well, formerly sleeping, her voice had woken her up and immediately she came over where Lexa was sitting.
Trying to move herself only made the pain in her abdomen flare up and she was forced to sit still though the spark of pain glinted in her eyes. She smiled a softer smile, one that was a rarity upon her features, gently squeezing Clarke's hand with her own. "Surprised mostly. I keep asking myself how I'm still alive. But you had something to do with that, didn't you Clarke?" It was the only logical explanation that made any sense to her. Titus seemed frozen on the spot when she last saw him. There wouldn't have been time to summon a healer, which left Clarke. "Thank you, Clarke kom Skaikru. I owe you my life." Lexa recalled the first time her life had been saved, remembering how Clarke spoke of people thanking their savers after the fact.
Her other hand reached over, wanting to lightly brush Clarke's face but the awkward angle made that impossible. There was a sharp intake of breathe as she pulled her hand back. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, she hurt. More than she had ever hurt in her life which she came to one conclusion. Getting shot sucked and she didn't want to experience it again.
"Are you okay?" Green eyes searched her face; Lexa was far more concerned for her lover than she was for herself. While she saw no visible wounds, that didn't account for wounds of the mind. And who knew what had happened during that time? If any of her guards did so much as lay a finger on her there was going to be consequences. "What happened when I was-" Asleep? Unconscious? Dying? Lexa couldn't find the right words. As morbid as it was, she needed to know what had gone on while her life had hung in the balance. Lexa simplified her question. "What happened?"
Actually, better question was, "how long since?" Again, she couldn't finish the sentence, swallowing quickly and looking away. Being Heda meant being strong, not weak. And yet she felt so vulnerable around Clarke that the walls she built around her heart had already crumbled. Though she knew that she could be less than strong around Clarke and everything would be okay, she still has trouble. Years of training, of guarding her emotions, of protecting herself. Of being Heda, the Commander. She had a duty to be strong because her people needed it.
Not for the first time Lexa reflected on how tough being Heda was and how she wished that sometimes she had never been chosen. But as she looked into Clarke's eyes, oh how she couldn't wish otherwise. If she had never become Heda, she may never have met the most important person in her life. blood must have blood

LEXA KOM TRIKRU Lexa stared at the mountain, her jawline set as she swallowed her emotions on the matter. This was about doing what was right for her people, here and now and that meant taking the deal. Clarke didn't understand, couldn't truly understand. By allowing her people to continue to fight, they would be slaughtered. She would be sending them all to their deaths; soldiers above the ridge had already killed a score of her people and even their metal shields did nothing to protect them. How was she supposed to fight against that? Swords and spears were nothing compared to bullets.
She'd already decided. To go back would make her look weak. Had it been anyone other than Clarke she would have already silenced them before leaving the scene entirely. No-one talked to their Heda that way; Clarke was not her people just as Lexa was not her Heda. Matching Clarke's ice cold look with her own, there was a flash of emotion in her eyes. She was right, in a sense. When the next generation arrived and grew up, they would hunt her people down and start the cycle all over again. There was no guarantee the mountain men would leave them alone either. Now was the chance to rid one of their biggest threats and yet, how many of her people would be sent into this massacre?
They were waiting on her to call them to advance. She had made the deal to retreat with her soldiers in exchange for her captured people. All she had to do was sound the retreat and then leave. Each second she stood there felt like an eternity. "I'll be sending them to slaughter. How many do you think will survive, Clarke? We cannot fight them when their bullets tear through our flesh as easily as pauna tore off limbs." Lexa spoke logically, without too much emotion even though it pained her to even consider this whole situation. Leave and betray Clarke, betray Skaikru fully, leave them to the mercy of their enemy? Or stay, help them and mourn the loss of those who would inevitably die here.
It was agonizing to even be second guessing herself. Right now she was wishing she'd never even met Clarke because the love she held for the woman was beginning to erode at the logic of her mind. "None of us are truly innocent, Clarke." Again she swallowed, the set of her jawline no longer as fierce as she looked towards her waiting soldiers. She nodded in their direction, most of her form hidden by shadow and construction. "I have to do what is best for my people. Look at them Clarke because their blood, their deaths, will be on your hands as well as mine. Are you really willing to accept the consequences?" She'd lose more than Skaikru; Skaikru had no fear of guns, they could fire them as comfortably as grounders fired arrows.
She paused, only her eyes showed emotion, only the movement of her throat as she swallowed showed any indication she was feeling anything at all. "Tell me, Clarke kom Skaikru. If it were my people still trapped, would you reconsider the deal to save my people at the cost of your own?" blood must have blood

LEXA KOM TRIKRU A leader listened to their people, just as much as they listened to their enemy. Listening was just as important as fighting because sometimes there were things that one could pick up and use to their advantage. She listened to villagers, and she listened to leaders, both with equal amount of interest so long as she wasn't being threatened. He spoke of tragedy and though she didn't speak anything she still felt the word cut her to the quick. How many times had she suffered tragedy? From being torn away from her parents at a young age, to losing the previous commander, fighting her Natblida siblings, losing Costia. Now she lost eighteen people in her village, including those she knew more than just passing faces.
One of her guards that had been stationed there to keep watch opened their mouths and she lifted up a hand for silence. She stared at his face and though she had no reason to do so, she believed him. Believed he was sincere and that he had nothing to do with it. "I believe you had no prior knowledge of this. However, we are to serve justice. It was my people he murdered." She turned to her guard, and nodded once. He gritted his teeth before leaving the pair alone. Lexa had nothing to fear from Kane and she got the vibe that he wasn't going to try and stick a dagger between her ribs.
Lexa felt her jaw stiffen the way it did when she felt the anger rise up. It took her a few moments of keeping herself composed before she spoke, her jaw still set, her eyes still with that fierce intensity. "You did not go into my village and massacre my people." She was not going to accept him blaming himself for the turn of events. "The blame lies with the killer, and the killer alone." Her people and Skaikru had been at war since that dropship landed in their territory. Lexa had acted in the best interest of her people and that was to have Skaikru exteriminated. They could not afford to have another presence like the Mountain Men.
Much like letting Azgeda into her coaltion despite the Queen killing her beloved, Lexa knew that the best course of action for her people would be peace between them and Skaikru. She could not fight Skaikru, the lingerings of Azgeda and the Mountain Men all at once. No matter what she decided here and now, she still needed to wait the two days before riding to their camp; she had given them two days and she would abide by that. Considering peace between their people was fine on her end but she knew Kane did not the true extent of such a punishment. "Tell me, Kane kom Skaikru. Will you still ask for peace when you know what is in store for the killer?" Lexa tilted her head, studying him.
He knew nothing of their ways and she had to remind herself that when dealing with Skaikru. "He will suffer the pain of eighteen deaths; one for each innocent life taken. Everyone who grieves will have a turn with the knife. If he lives at sunrise, I'll end it with the sword." She needed him to understand the gravity of the situation, she couldn't have any surprises for he might very well break his word at the last minute if he found this out later. "Blood must have blood. It is our way. Our peace will begin with his death." blood must have blood Marcus Kane

LEXA KOM TRIKRU Heading back to Polis after visting one of the villages left her a little more tired than usual. There hadn't been much rest on her part, having spoken to the leaders and then got dragged along by one of the children; though she was respected as Heda and could have easily put the child in her place, it seemed unnecessarily cruel. Lexa interacted with her people as much as she could so long as they remained respectful. What did it matter if she spent a few minutes letting a child talk about how they wanted to become a warrior and asked for her Heda's blessing? Respect didn't just come from being an authoritative figure; it came from being there for her people.
Having stopped for a moment to rest and get something to eat, Lexa left her horse with her bodyguards before deciding to take a walk to stretch her legs. Armed with her swords on her back and daggers at her hips, she was more than prepared for anything that might happen. As rewarding as being Heda was, it was still very dangerous. Not everyone agreed with her decisions and it wasn't unusual for Heda's to be attacked as they traveled. Should anyone try she was more than confident in her own ability, and had no qualms with sticking a dagger through their throats. In fact she had stabbed a grounder in the throat but that had been some time ago. Most usually tasted the biting steel of her sword.
The same sword that rested upon her back, sheathed and waiting to be used on the enemy.
The air felt unusually warm on her bare skin and she moved through the forest floor avoiding any loose sticks that would no doubt snap under pressure. Her step matched her small, lithe frame, quiet movements that didn't even stir up the grass around her. Something seemed amiss, her keen senses picking up that she wasn't alone; the feeling of being watched loomed like a shadow over her. Wasn't the first time and surely it wouldn't be the last yet she was mostly alone with her guards several paces away - if someone was truly watching her then she might have felt she was in danger. If she wasn't so confident in her own ability to protect herself. Lexa had been training and fighting since she was a child. She'd killed her own Natblida siblings, some who had as much, if not more, training than her.
Her expression remained neutral even as her gaze kept their icy appearance. She padded forth, paused for a moment as if studying her surroundings. "I know you are there. If you don't come out then I'll have no choice but to force you out." blood must have blood @mikhajay

Clarke Griffin ooc// let me know if this works for ya! also will change the gif at some point. LEXA KOM TRIKRU Nothing could have prepared her for the day's events. In a moment of bliss she spent her time with Clarke, allowing herself to be that vulnerable with no walls up, no shields to protect her emotions. She was raw, exposed for Clarke to see and it was more than just something sexual; it was spiritual, emotional, showing Clarke who she was beneath the armor, the ice, the Heda. She could be seen for who she really was and instead of being pushed away it had been embraced. If she didn't know Lexa was her soul mate beforehand, she did now.
Clarke had already exited, allowing Lexa to dress and finish sorting through a few matters before it happened.
When she heard the firing of the weapon her instincts screamed at her to take cover and to make sure Clarke was okay. Her own safety mattered little if her soul mate had been shot and she could not lose someone else she loved. Heading towards the door of her room, she exited swiftly, letting her feet carry as fast she was able to which lead her directly into the path of another bullet. It hit her directly, freezing her in place, her eyes widened in shock as she looked from Clarke to Titus and then back to Clarke. Blood already began to steadily drip from her wound, coating her clothing, staining the floor beneath their feet.
She didn't expect to live. She had told Clarke to not be afraid, made Titus promise that he would never harm or attempt to harm Clarke ever. She relished the last touch she would ever get from her lover, the soft skin of Clarke's hand was a comfort when the world around her was starting to grow cold. "May we meet again." As much as she didn't want to leave her, she knew that she would always be with Clarke and that was comfort enough. Closing her eyes for what she felt would be the last time, she faded into unconsciousness even as there were frantic attempts to save her.
Her heart slowed down, threatening to stop but with the combined efforts, it only faltered for a few moments before it stayed at a steady but weak beat. Lexa wa unaware, still deep in slumber even as her body was moved to a more comfortable location for when she would wake. In her system, her blood as black as the night skies burned though it left no visible marks. Much like her nightmare, she knew they were not happy; but unlike her nightmare she couldn't wake up from this, trapped in a burning cage and ready to be torn apart.
Night had fallen by the time she woke, having spent several hours unconscious, her mind not in a restful place. The fingers on her right hand twitched before her eyes snapped open to stare up at the ceiling above her, a gasp of air pulling deep within her lungs as if she'd been deprived of that precious oxygen. For a moment she wasn't sure where she was, and it took a few seconds for everthing to come back to her. Immediately her hand went to her stomach before hissing in pain as her fingers touched the bandage and pressure was on the wound. I'm alive. Lexa mused to herself, ignoring the pain so she could sit up, wincing and holding onto her stomach as if that would alleviate the pressure.
"Clarke? Titus?" Lexa's voice was hoarse as if she'd been screaming. The only light came from the multitude of candles that were littered about, their wicks ablaze to give enough light to see by. Their glow reminded her of the burning in the dreams and she closed her eyes, inhaling another sharp breath. She needed to get up, figure out why she was still alive, see what had been going on, make sure Clarke was safe. As for Titus, she wasn't entirely sure if she was going to punish him or not. blood must have blood

FORM FOR CANONS [Characters from the show] Character: Lexa Season: 3 Episode: Episode 4, 7, 16 Scene: Can we go with a few in one? Since her avatar is going to be of her being serious I'd like her signature to be of her smiling. So for episode 5 it's her smiling when she bids Clarke goodnight; episode 7 where she's in bed next to Clarke and 16 when she does that half smile thing before kicking some ass. Dimensions: Whatever size you make your signature <3 Text: Nothing comes to mind right now but if you think something would work then go for it! Other: I leave this in your capable hands! If something works, go for it. It the scenes don't work then it's all good. I'm pretty chill and I love what people make for me <3 HOPE THIS HELPS FRIEND probably not but i can hope

LEXA KOM TRIKRU The worst moment in her life had not been slaughtering her Natblida siblings, nor was it the pain of never being able to go home. It wasn't the battles she got into or the wounds she recieved from said battles. It was nothing, nothing compared to seeing her lovers head in her bed. Her head without the rest of her body. Lexa had known it had been Azgeda who had been the ones to kidnap her, torture her and cut off her head. There had been no getting the blood out of the furs and she had refused to sleep on fur covered in her lovers blood.
Seeing that had devastated her, caused her legs to collapse from beneath her as she sobbed. One of the few moments that she showed something other than strength. One of the few moments that she showed vulnerability with someone other than Costia. Titus had reinforced the ideals that love was weakness and she didn't want to hear it, couldn't because her lovers head was right there. Lexa hadn't even been able to give her a proper send-off. All the while she was flooded with guilt, wondering what she could have done differently in order for Costia to remain out of harm's way or what she could have done to better look for her when she had been captured.
She had been watched with wary eyes as she sat on the throne to wait. Azgeda. If she didn't need them, their support and their numbers then she would have banished the whole lot of them. Titus hadn't been too vocal but she could tell he was worried of what she might do in retaliation. Titus, you need not fear. I lead with my head and not my heart, no matter how much I wish to. No, she couldn't stoop to their level. Though the dagger she always carried remained on her lap, she would not use it to slit the throat of the Queen. Most of the time it was for show, to show just how comfortable she was using such a small weapon and how unafraid she would be to use it.
Azgeda was a powerful clan and with their numbers added to those already in the coalition, they had a better chance at fighting the mountain men and the reapers not to mention it would remove Azgeda from the threat table. Trikru and Azgeda had been at war for as long as she could remember and they could not afford to fight when there were other pressing matters at hand. In order for them to join however, Lexa had only one demand; the banishment of Prince Roan, the one and only heir of Azgeda. They needed to know that it was her, not their Queen, that had the power.
The moment the doors opened up and Nia began walking towards her, Lexa stared at her with unblinking eyes, matching the intensity of the gaze. Anger spiked in her blood stream, biting back the ashen taste in her mouth and the sweet desire to see her bleed. She spoke and the words had been something she wanted to hear though not quite. It still did no answer the question at hand and so Lexa, careful to keep any personal feelings aside, spoke. "And what, pray, is your answer?" Lexa's fingers lightly brushed along the dagger's blade before they found the intricate wooden hilt. Movements paused as she sat up a little straighter, wanting to hear the words pour from her mouth, to watch as she submitted to her Heda.
As it should be. blood must have blood Queen Nia

LEXA KOM TRIKRU Sometimes a different approach to getting information was needed and much more effective. Acting like she was a prisoner like them had done that; she knew she wouldn't get what she needed any other way. "I wouldn't have gotten what I needed if you knew who I truly was." There was no apology in her tone of voice. She had nothing to apologize for, not even feeling bad for the deceit. "Sometimes it's the most unassuming that you must look out for."
Kane continued to speak and she listened without commenting for the time being. Though his words could easily be lies, Lexa doubted such a thing, not when his actions before proved to be true. Leading was not always easy, if it was everyone would do so. And being Heda was both difficult, rewarding and incredibly lonely. She had twelve clans to think about, figuring out a solution that wouldn't render the alliance asunder. Though she couldn't please everyone, there were solutions that presented itself that didn't result in war. Sometimes it took a bit to see it clearly but it was there.
"You understand what needs to be done for your people." The lengths leaders must go to ensure the safety and protection of those they were sworn to defend and lead. "Then you must understand that I am do to everything I can to ensure the safety of my people." This one understood more than the other; his willingness to die proved that. No hesitation, putting the lives of his people before his own and she could respect that. She did respect that otherwise she wouldn't bother talking to him.
Anger simmered just below the surface, barely kept in check. "Tell me, if you didn't want a war then why did one of your men go into one of my villages and slaughtered eighteen innocents? Innocents who were no warriors, gunned down as if they were nothing?" Lexa kept most of her anger inwards though her words and voice still had that bite. Those green eyes flashed, daring him to make up excuses for that murderer. Killing in battle or wars was something she understood; outside against those that had nothing to do with it was unacceptable. "If you wish to speak for your people then speak. I also do not wish for war but jus drein jus daun. Blood must have blood." blood must have blood Marcus Kane

LEXA KOM TRIKRU There was certain advantages to appearing timid and weak; people didn't take her seriously enough to consider her a threat and because of it she had been able to learn much for the Skaikru that occupied the same prison she was in. Difference was, she was not an actual prisoner; she had wanted to watch them, see if their motives were true or if they were lies to keep them alive for a few moments longer. Because of their actions displayed, Lexa had declared their intentions were sincere and both men wouldn't have their throats cut.
Still, there was going to be a cost. Skaikru had a choice; to leave her territory or die. It was a merciful choice because she could very easily march her army towards Skaikru and have them all executed. Though seething with anger at the massacre of one of her villages, Lexa knew that letting emotions rule rather than logic would not get them anywhere. If there was one thing she was good at, it was ruling with logic. She wanted to avoid as much bloodshed as she could while still adhering to their rule; though they ruled in number, Skaikru had something they did not have - guns.
Blood must have blood but not all had to die. It was a fine line and she knew she had to step carefully. Think of all possible outcomes and choose the one best for her people. The one they call Jaha was going to be sent back, alive, to Skaikru with a message. He had two days which would begin when he arrived back at camp rather than when he left here. In 48 hours they were to have their answer.
"Does that surprise you?" Lexa inclined her head, her eyes glinting icily at the question, her gaze never wavering from his. Being Heda was what she had trained for since she was a little girl. To her age was nothing but a number, especially when she had the Flame in her neck."You want to know whether I have ordered his execution or if he will live to see another sunrise." Lexa spoke the non-question without averting her gaze. "I have a message for Skaikru. And he will deliver it. I have ordered that he arrives there safely." Jaha was lucky; if it was up to her people his head would be sent on a pike.
"You are more worried for him than yourself? A noble but pointless sentiment." blood must have blood Marcus Kane

HEDA LEXA KOM TRIKRU blood must have blood Roan lay on his back before her as she aimed the spear at his heart, just above his chest. Her hand dripped black blood along the shaft though her firm remained strong, ignoring the pulsing pain. He begged her to kill him and as her eyes looked up to the Ice Queen, her resolve as rigid as steel, she peered back at Roan before speaking. "Yu gonplei ste odon." Driving the spear into his heart ensured a swift, painless death. In that moment she had accomplished more than just protecting her title as Heda; the coup that Nia had tried to start died before it could take flight. Blood must have blood. It may have taken time but that price has now been paid. For years she had wanted Nia to suffer the pain that she had caused by torturing, killing and then cutting off Costia's head. Sending it to her bed of all things. To retaliate would have meant war and Lexa needed to step carefully if she wanted to have peace remain in the clans. Killing Nia would have caused Azgeda to retaliate and possibly even wipe out more than just Trikru. Azgeda was a large clan, full of warriors just as deadly as her own. A full out war could have devastated her people, her coalition, everything she'd worked for. Once the battle had ended, Lexa was taken to be cleaned up, her wounds looked over and to assess the situation. It seemed the other ambassaders were not as quick to jump to continue the coup; that threat was diminished for the time being. The matter at hand was Nia and what she was going to do with the Queen. Entering the throne room in full warlord garb, Lexa strode towards the throne, turned around and stared at Nia before she sat down, all with graceful and deliberate steps as befitting as the Heda she was. The hand she had grabbed Roan's blade with slicing into her flesh, was wrapped up and although it pained her at times, she would not hesitate to use the dagger that remained a constant presence at her side. She doubted she was going to need it; this was not going to be an execution. As Nia spoke, one of her guards told her to hold her tongue. Lexa responded by lifting up a hand to silence them. She was, unfortunately, right. Killing her now would only serve to rip apart the precious mending she had done by killing Roan. "Not all." Lexa began, her eyes flashing. As much as killing Nia would mean she had taken care of the woman who killed her lover, her living was a much better punishment; she would live with the pain of losing someone she loved and though she wasn't unkind by nature, it did make her feel rather pleased. "What is done is done. Blood must have blood and blood had blood. It's over." The words tasted like acid in her mouth but she spoke them anyway. Rule with logic, not emotion. Judgement was simple. "You will live. I'm not blind to think that if I killed you things would remain the same. In doing so you will swear fealty to me. You will not cause another uprising. You will be loyal to me and to this alliance." If Azgeda was shown to support her then the rest would fall in line without any further prodding and it would remove the largest threat from within the coalition. HEDA LEXA KOM TRIKRU blood must have blood This was something she must do. She could not afford to be coddled by those who swore to protect her; she was their commander, it was up to her to lead. Their treatment of her had become vastly different from when she was just a simple Nightblood. During her training there had been no excuses for slacking off. No-one to jump in front as someone slashed at her face or torso with a sword. Back then she had been alone with only her brothers and sisters for company and even then they couldn't afford to give into their familial emotions. What had Flamekeeper Titus drilled into their heads? Love was weakness.
She stared at the boar with intensity in her gaze. Green eyes that remained solely on the prize before her, acutely aware of its movements in relation to hers. She needed to wait for the right moment to strike least she end up gored by its tusks protruding from its jaw, one broken in half with most of the bone cracked. Heda. She heard one of the warriors speak from behind, her eyes never leaving the creature. Please let us take care of this. Her stance began more rigid, fingers tightening around the hilt of her sword while a hiss escaped her clenched teeth.
In the trees were grounders with arrows aimed at the boar and should they need too, more than fifty would fire into the boars skin before it had a chance to bellow. Those on the ground would rush with their weapons to slit its throat and stab its heart. This was her time to show she was good enough, worthy enough.
When the boar bellowed, charging directly at her, Lexa dodged but not quick enough. For such a beast it moved quicker than she did, it's head colliding with her torso and with enough force it threw her into the air and landed directly against a tree with a thud. Her arm and back were numb from impact of both the boar and the tree, her sword slipping from her grasp and landing in the mottled leaves at her feet. As the boar got ready to charge again, Lexa reached down, ignored the pain in her body to grab the sword and stab the beast through its throat as it attempted to head butt her again.
As the adrenaline from the fight abated, she felt something hot, sticky and a flash of pain in her side. Looking down she saw she had been wounded, either by tooth, tusk or something else she wasn't sure; the wound wasn't that major in terms of she wasn't going to die from it but it hurt more than she would have expected. She all but ignored those around her who, some focused on the boar while the rest on her with shocked exclamations on their faces. She opened her mouth to tell them she was fine and to focus on getting the boar back to the village for food when the wound proved more serious than she thought; her legs all but gave out, reaching for the tree but instead finding help in her soldiers.
Not only was there a gaping hole in her side, with blood as black as night dripping against the ground, but bruises all up her torso and her back. Her arm was sprained from twisting and hitting the tree. She felt herself being picked up and all but carried, which did nothing to help her wounded pride. "Get Nyko now." She heard one of them hiss and the sounds of footsteps rushing in haste as if their life depended on it.

NOTES: let me know if this works! I had trouble thinking of what could hurt her and then the boar idea hit xD

HEDA LEXA KOM TRIKRU blood must have blood Never had she made a decision that she later looked back on with regret. She was Head the Commander; she couldn't afford to regret her choices or second guess herself. And yet when she walked back down that mountain with her people safely with her, she couldn't help but wonder. Love is weakness. Lexa continued to tell herself, over and over again even as she paced in her room in Polis. She had to do what was right for her people and though she had wanted to save both her people and Skai Kru, she had been duty bound. So why did it taste like ashes in her mouth? Though it had been days after she had left Skai Kru at the mountain, Lexa was still privy to the knowledge of what had gone on up there. Because of all those that had died by Clarke's hand, she was now Wanheda. The Commander of Death. And she was hunted by those who had once been allies with her. Though she briefly thought about killing Clarke, she knew she could never do such a thing to the woman she had fallen in love with. Love is weakness. Every time she thought about Clarke, she told herself over and over that it was weakness. She could not feel such emotional attachment to the Clarke kom Skai Kru. So she did what she did best, swallow her feelings and do her duty. There was not much danger in the woods aside from Skai Kru and various animals. Most animals wouldn't attack unless provoked and she hadn't heard any news surrounding pauna - still she was cautious. The Heda had plenty of allies, plenty of people willing to protect her and die to keep her safe but she also had enemies. People who didn't agree with her actions, people such as Azgeda who would be more than willing to kill her. Since she wanted to be alone, or rather the pretense of being alone, she had ordered her soldiers to stay somewhat behind her, telling them she was more than capable of looking after herself. No doubt some were not going to listen and follow any way but that couldn't be helped. Her movements caused sounds of the leaves to rustle beneath her feet yet other sounds were present. She paused, watching closely until a male came into view with a gun pointed right at her. "Are you going to shoot me, Belomi kom Skai Kru?" Lexa asked, using his name in her native language while eyeing the gun with distrust and distaste. Oh how she hated guns despite their apparent usefulness. Even without her beliefs there would still be distrust towards the metal killers after that massacre of one of her villages. She knew damn well he wasn't going to shoot least he risk getting a chest full of arrows and she doubted he would risk a retaliated attack on his people for hurting the Heda. "If you don't plan on shooting me then I suggest you lower your weapon." The least she could do was pretend that she actually had backup een if she was alone.
