LEXA KOM TRIKRU She allowed the silence, hoping he was weighing over her words, not knowing it was something entirely different. She kept her gaze on him even as he moved about the room, studying the items on the table. Most of what she owned happened to be candles. They were everywhere but Lexa would not apologize for that.
"They will be safe and they will be welcome with open arms." Lexa promised - anyone who attacked Skaikru would face punishment, just the same as she hoped he realized that Skaikru would face punishment if they attacked any of the other clan members. Well, the Skaikru person who attacked, not Skaikru as a whole. "The Spirit of the Commander chose wisely then." She dipped her head, humbled by his words. She knew some of her people were angry, still wanting blood for what happened to them at the mountain. Some were also on the opposite side, where they didn't want to fight. Not all of her people were wanting war.
When he turned, holding the patch with the Tree emblazoned on it, Lexa padded towards him, closing the distance that was once between one another. Though it had been years since she held tightly to that patch as if it offered her comfort in the cold nights, she still viewed it with a bittersweet fondness. Though it was a symbol close to her heart, it didn't interfere with her position as Heda - if anything it was a symbol to fight even when broken because that was exactly what her mother did. She fought when she was broken, according to her village elders. Lexa never met her mother. The woman had given birth to her daughter, had her named before she succumbed to her injuries.
"It was my mother's. She gave it to me before she died." Lexa spoke, and although there was not much of a hint on her fact, her eyes showed exactly how she felt. She had wished to meet the woman who had given her life though she knew that would never be possible. Titus had stressed on the importance of looking ahead and not at those she had lost in her past, especially those she had never met. In this case, her mother's death wouldn't be beneficial for the future. There was nothing to learn there. Aside from small snippets of information from her village, no-one knew anything else about her.
"You know the symbol? What it means?" Lexa asked him. There was no doubt in her mind that it sparked familiarity with him and despite her leader status, she needed to know more. Of course appearing too overeager for the information was not the best so she kept her expression calm even if she had butterflies spinning around in her stomach. blood must have blood Marcus Kane

LEXA KOM TRIKRU "We live in different worlds and yet we are the same." Lexa mused. She understood his concerns because they were extremely valid in this case. "You have valid concerns. I cannot change how Skaikru views us, only that you've only seen warriors. Will they change their mind if they see our healers, learn from them, see our villages?" Lexa paused in thought. To change their minds about the grounders savagery would require going further. Well if they were to become her people, she had no right to keep them from Polis. So long as they didn't bear weapons or start any wars. Azgeda was going to flip a lid but that was fine. She could deal with them when the time came. She'd done it before.
"You will be given lands large enough to house all of Skaikru, and any of your descendants. It'll have lands suitable for farming, of that I assure you. You will have access to water, to trades with the rest of the clans. I doubt Azgeda will come to your aid but I know Trikru will. It'll be lands near us that you'll be given. If anyone dare attack you, it'll be an attack on all of us and they will be punished." He asked about their rights and that was something she wanted to address. "Though I lead all of you, especially during times of war and I expect to have my orders followed, you still are the leader of your clan. Skaikru do not lose any of their right by joining."
"Having you join my coalition was a plan of short notice. I apologize for not giving you advanced warning. However, once you join I will give Skaikru a week to make the journey into Polis so we can celebrate together. You will become my people - you will have every right to come into the city just like any other." Lexa studied him for a minute. "There is much to learn. Us about you and you about us. Most of what has happened stemmed from not understanding each other. In order to move forward as one, we must be able to understand one another. Ignorance will only serve to divide us all." Divide and destroy. That was what it would do. Lex knew they needed to understand each other before they had any hope of changing their future.
What she was doing though, it was never done before. Grounders stuck with grounders, they didn't make peace with outsiders. They never dreamed of making peace with the mountain men and the sky people had been no different. Except the sky people hadn't been like the mountain men. And what had Lexa done? Betrayed them. It was a miracle some were still here, in Polis rather than decide to ignore the commander completely. Still, together, as one, they could avoid coming to war. If Azgeda tried to overthrow her, they would fail. Skaikru would be safe, the rest of her people would be safe. Her coalition, the peace she had sought, would not crumble into dust. blood must have blood Marcus Kane

Have you ever wanted to give up being Heda? "Sometimes, though I know that's not possible unless I die. Still, sometimes I wish I was never chosen. Life would be simpler then."

iah LEXA KOM TRIKRU Tension was becoming thicker, more apt to choke the very air from her lungs. In all their eyes was wariness, distrust and Lexa didn't want to stay for any longer than she had to. There was no need to remain and antagonize the people further when she had the power to leave. It wasn't conceding weakness or fear, it was for the safety of the people. She'd spent enough time that was considered appropriate and so they could leave now without any insult on timing. Just one other thing before she left and that was new gloves to put on her hands and stop the chill from ebbing into her fingers. She thanked the man before turning and following Ontari's lead as she was taken out of the packed markets to somewhere more quieter and less full of suspicious Azgeda.
Ontari's question made her arch an eye ever so slightly while amusement prickled its way through her system though it made no move to cross her features with that emotion. "What makes you think I don't?" Lexa asked, not even pausing in stride to glance over her shoulder. They were behind several paces as per her orders. Guards surrounding her would have increased tension even further even if it would have helped quell some of the urges to attack if they saw that the Heda was more protected than what she was. "Even without guards I'm not exactly helpless." Lexa was born to be a warrior, trained in the arts and killed to be at the top. Of course if too many decided they wanted her dead, she wouldn't be able to fight them all; she may be talented but she was still human and she still could be killed.
The illusion of being alone didn't mean she was. "They follow at a distance. But do not mistake it. Should anyone attack they will strike as fast as a snake." That was, after all, the reasons why they were chosen to guard her this day. If something happened she could only trust Trikru to back her, not Azgeda, despite the repercussions of anyone attacking her. She doubted it was because Ontari was going to attack her and if she did, well Lexa would just have to fight back. She couldn't think of any other negative reason for the question, it was valid after all. "Having more Trikru in Azgeda's face would only have served to cause more unrest. I was not willing to have that. My safety is important yes, but so is yours."
Lexa was about to be blunt, and while she didn't want to be, because she wasn't about to let it be known that the reason for this was to protect Ontari for a little bit, she still needed to know. Not to protect herself but to protect Ontari. "Tell me. If I was to be injured by Azgeda, would your queen be happy? Or would she be angry enough to blame you?"
Why did she even care for her? She was Azgeda, the enemy! And yet, the idea of her being hurt was sickening to her. She looked away to stare at one of the buildings as if admiring its design. This would have been easier if she didn't have dealings here in Azgeda. - - - - -

Klara Though she could never condone stealing, now that she was Heda she had to make a good example, she had also hoped Klara would never get caught. Still, they were here now and Lexa was going to deal with this. She looked towards the guards first as they explained how and where she was caught and who she stole from. The old stall-keeper was someone she knew well, buying wares off him when she could. All he did he did for his family. "What is done is done. You will apologize and give back what you stole if possible." Hopefully that was still possible otherwise she would have to find some other way to appease the stall keeper.
Lexa inhaled sharply before making a snap decision in dismissing the guards. They didn't want to leave, as evident by their expressions but they had no choice. Once they left the room, shutting the worn doors behind them, Lexa stood from the throne. She padded towards Klara, her jawline clenched. She angered because her friend had put herself in danger for stealing and she was lucky it had been the old grounder and not someone who thirsted for blood. "Your punishment does not end here, Klara." Lexa kept her voice neutral, her eyes never wavering from the other grounder girl. "By rights I should have you locked up for the crimes you've committed. However, this time I won't be."
Klara was a theif but she wasn't evil or cruel. And her plan of action was something she believed in, believed to be the right thing to do. "I'm going to make you a scout. To begin with, you'll be my scout until the debt is paid. This will ensure your protection." Because if they attacked her scouts, they were attacking the Heda and they wouldn't want the threat of her retaliation.

Klara Being one of the biggest grounder cities and a hub for her people, the law wasn't always adhered too. Thieves tended to try their luck stealing from the markets, with punishment being either jail or a hand cut off - not under Lexa's rule. The jail part she could dish no problem but to take a hand seemed a bit excessive unless the thief was unrepentent. Most cases it was usually benign though stealing was still stealing and punishment had to be enforced when they were found. Some managed to escape detection and escape capture thought not everyone was so lucky. Today was one such day that she was going to be dealing with a thief. She'd already been informed that a thief had been located in Polis and then one of her guards had come in to tell her the thief had been found. Speaking in Trigedasleng, she told one of the guards to bring the thief in. That guard disappeared to relay the message and she only had to wait a few moments before the doors reopened and the guards re-entered with the thief in hand. Lexa watched them approach, her eyes not on the guards but the girl and she forced to keep any expression from reaching her face. It was hard to believe she was dealing with the girl she had left behind several years ago. She'd met Klara before she was whisked away for training. Lexa had viewed the other grounder as a friend and it had pained her to leave her behind yet she knew what her duty was. Even so, she couldn't let emotion rule today, it was going to be her head and not her heart. "You are here because you have stolen things that do not belong to you. Do you deny this?" Lexa asked, sitting on the Commander's throne as she watched Klara flanked by the guards. Lexa had a fair idea on how she was going to handle this situation. Blood would not be spilled and she wouldn't spend the rest of her days rotting in the cells. Lexa was going to have her put that energy, that spark and intuition, to something that would benefit them all. Provided she answer correctly.

Echo Her people had made camp, got their tents up in preparation for staying more than a couple of nights while scouts continued to expand their scouting area, hunters went to gather food. Lexa sat on her throne in her tent, not out of arrogance that she was better than her people but because she was expecting others coming for an audience with their Heda. She'd already looked over their newly laid traps, how they were going to stop the Sky people from making contact with the mountain. She could not afford to have them team up because it would mean certain death for her people. But that wasn't the only reason.
It had been hard to ignore the dropship that came to earth in a great big fireball. It was even harder to miss the fires that had sparked and spread from falling debris from the skies. Fires which had ravaged Trikru territory, not Azgeda. They had some cheek coming in here, demanding answers when it wasn't them who had suffered the losses from the men from the skai. Her thoughts were not aimed at Echo but rather the head of Azgeda; this had Nia written all over it. The girl had spoken with the right amount of respect as she had expected, obviously the girl didn't want to lose her head.
Anya had been ordered to deal with the Skai people on her end while they dealt with it on this end.
"Monin Echo kom Azgeda." Lexa responded in their language before she too, switched to english. "We have learned that though they dropped from the skies, they are not exactly well prepared for living here." More primal than the grounders, at least her people had proper weapons in which to fight and defend. "They are on Trikru territory. They will be killed by Trikru methods." Azgeda was not going to be involved in this, not unless these skai people crossed into their border. "If they cross into your border, you have permission to deal with them as you see fit."

Costia LEXA KOM TRIKRU Lexa could force her to leave just as much as she could force her to stay. Her words were not meant to force Costia to make a choice, it was something she needed to voice, to show her how much she needed Costia in her life, now more than ever. Costia had been supportive of her, her rock when she didn't know she needed it. She didn't have to be so strong when in the arms of her lover, to be able to show emotion rather than hide it, to feel love without it being looked as a weakness. Titus may believe the words but Lexa didn't even if she spoke of it sometimes. So it was her choice, not Lexa's, when it came to staying. She could give Costia that when the other young woman had given her that, and more, in their life. She also knew how hard it must be to be in her life - Lexa wasn't always the warmest, and she wasn't always available, what with her training and everything.
Titus had enough rule in her life. She was not going to let him send the only shred of happiness she ever had. The only part of her soul that wasn't damaged beyond repair. Costia spoke of wanting to stay, of never wanting to leave her and despite the pain in her heart, the words were comforting, warm. Lexa hadn't known she needed to hear it until the words hd been spoken and she seemed to hold Costia a little bit tighter. "Good. Because I don't want you to leave. I may send you away for ambassador duties but I will never send you away for good."
She let Costia inspect the bruise, her eyes half closing as the memory of how she'd gotten it flashed behind the lids of her eyes. The light brush against her skin, against the bruise, sent the nerves skittering with pain though it was made bearable by the feather light touches of the woman she loved. How can I help? the words spoke over and over in her mind. She knew of one way to forget everything for the moment but she wasn't going to use Costia that way. Their time together in bed was not to banish the darkness but to embrace the light. She turned enough so she could look at Costia, the bruise fading from view and mind as she searched her features.
She leaned fowards to capture Costia's lips in a kiss. "Stay with me." Stay with me now and forever. Not just in Polis - Lexa wanted her to stay with her that night, to keep her company while she was feeling rather vulnerable - something that no-one should really see. The only person she could trust seeing her in such a state was Costia - she would never have it used against her and for that she appreciated and loved her even more. Of course she had to add something. "You being here helps more than I can ever express." blood must have blood

Clarke Griffin Word had traveled of something dropping from the sky and setting one of the nearby villages alight and in retaliation her people attacked the delinquents - though this was more as warnings for the men in the mountain. Lexa couldn't take the risk of them being allies with her enemy and the reason why she hadn't ordered hundreds of her warriors to storm them was because she needed more information. She had enough to deal with in the way of threats with Azgeda, she didn't need this new and unknown threat coming her way. She'd finished her duties for the day, heading through the streets of Polis to reach the main building of the Commander. Guards flanked either side though a few paces back so that she wasn't crowded when a voice spoke out, cutting through the throng of Trigedasleng. The voice was speaking English, something warriors, ambassadors, leaders and the flamekeeper knew. As she moved towards the voice, Lexa studied the features of the unknown girl and although Lexa could have her killed on sight, she held up her hand, silently telling her guards to stay back. Lexa knew all those who lived in Polis. She knew most of the warriors under her command and the command of the tribe leaders. This girl was not one of her people. She continued to watch as a young boy, no more than six, ran up to the girl and began talking animatedly in Trigedasleng - that was when Lexa strode forth, her mere presence was enough to silence the kid in mid speech. "Heda." He bowed his head respectively, in which Lexa offered him a slight smile. In their language she spoke to him. "You should be heading inside now. Go on." When the boy was out of earshot did Lexa turn to the blond. "Who are you and why do you step foot into this sacred city when you know what happens to those that do not belong?" She spoke in English, her features and tone of voice icy. This girl had mere seconds before Lexa decided one way or another what was going to happen - cut her down, take her prisoner or something else entirely.

If you could change one thing about how you've interacted with the Arkers, what would it be? "It would be to trust them as much as they trusted me." *pauses for a second* "Especially at the mountain."

Difficult choice but I narrowed my choice to the beach. If it's my last day then I want to see something beautiful - the beach is that not to mention how calming it makes me feel so that is a plus(end of the workd is scary enough!)

Hey Bell, so I'm requesting because your work is amazing and I need more of it in my life. This is for the profile so the avatar and icons. I'm thinking her with her warpaint, some of her in Polis(such as what her current avatar is from). I have no real preference aside from one or two of her icons looking badass with her avatar showing her softer side(or vice versa) just to showcase her strong and vulnerabell sides?
that sneaky pun tho
