And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ It was like a dream... like she was floating through nothingness. One moment she had been crying her eyes out, so certain that she would die and then she was in this dreamworld, and now her eyelids were fluttering open. Leiana stared around with blurred vision, her senses failing her. She didn't know where she was, couldn't remember how she had gotten here, didn't know her own name for a minute. And then the hand holding hers squeezed and her head lulled to the side in a lethargic movement. Her body was like lead, so heavy she couldn't move very much at all and her mind was a haze of confusion. She stared at the woman for a moment, her brows pulling together as she worked through that confusion.
"Clarke...?" Her voice was croaky, her throat impossibly dry. Leiana tried to sit up only to fall back down, her body not yet strong enough. She groaned and closer her eyes tight. The hand not being held raising to rub at her throbbing temple, to rid herself of the mounting headache bought about by the confusion. "I feel like I've come back from the dead..."

Leiana stared at him, her eyes slightly wide and brows raised. A better cause? The way her mouth pulled into a tight line would so that she didn't agree with him, not in the slightest. Jasper hadn't done anything wrong, hadn't known that he was trespassing, and they had speared him in the chest, almost killing him. What better cause could that had been for? Leiana sighed hard, swallowing her anger. This man didn't know any better, and she hated that he didn't. None of them truly understood what she and the other delinquents had lived through.
So she let his comment slide, for now. He asked so many questions, none of which had a simple answer. "John. It's nice to meet you. I'm Leiana. Or Leia for short, if you prefer." Leiana flinched when he patted her on the back, not because she thought he might hurt her but because she didn't trust him anymore then she trusted the other Arkers. "I know these forest better then you." She told him, her tone serious, as she moved passed him. Her steps naturally moving her toward the delinquent drop shop... to home.
"Even in the dark, I'll always know them better." These forests had been her home from the moment their drop ship landed. "I can't fault you on wanting peace. Being out here alone... watching the stars, is definitely peaceful. But you should be careful. Grounders don't care for Sky People. Even with Clarke working on peace for our people, some of them might try to hurt you."

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ It had been some time now since the delinquents drop shop had made planet fall and they were... surviving, if you could call it that. In only a few short weeks their numbers had dwindled down; some dying during the landing, some to grounder attacks, and others to internal conflict. It was hard for all of them. They were teenagers and children who wanted nothing more then to be able to make a home for themselves and be safe. They didn't want to have to worry about what might happen next, what horrible thing would take a life of their friends.
It wasn't too much to ask. Or maybe it was. Leiana didn't really know the answer anymore. What she did know was that right now the camp was at peace; they had food, they had water, and there was no imminent threat of attack. For just one moment in time it seemed that they had a moment of peace and quiet.
She knew it couldn't last but she would enjoy it. Pushing aside the flaps of the tent she shared with Larkin Jones, she walked in. "Hey Larkin, how're you going?"

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ In the afternoon hours there was no peace to be found, not for Leiana. Her heart was beating so fast, her breath coming in shallow pants, as she stared at the doors into that mountain of death. Fingers clutched hard at the door of the rover as she tried to calm herself, to steady herself when her legs threatened to give out. There was a vice squeezing her heart, constricting her lungs, making it harder and harder to breath. Why had she agreed to come back here? She had never wanted to see this place again, not after...
Memories assaulted her. The humming of the drill played in her ears, pain seized her body, radiating out from the scars left behind from the torture, screams echoed all around her; her own, Raven's, Abby's. She could still hear Marcus begging Cage to stop, insisting that they could donate their bone marrow. Her stomach was in knots, threatening to bring its contents up and dump it right there by the rover. Why had she agreed to come back here?
There were tears on her waterline, blurring her vision more. "Gena..." her voice was soft, weak, full of fear as the memories of their time in Mount Weather continue the assault. She reached out blindly for the other woman's hand, needing something to ground her. She wanted Clarke here, wanted Bellamy here but they weren't. There was only Gena and Leia needed to touch her, to know that she was there with her and that when her eyes opened she wasn't going to find herself back in the mountain. "I don't think I can do this..."

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Leiana stared at him in a mixture of emotions; disbelief, heartache -- his response irritated her. Damn him for being right. Damn him and his logic. She wanted to smack him in that moment... wanted to break down into tears. How could he be so calm in the face of what would surely be the death of them all? How could he just leave his friends out there in the wilderness?
"Our forces are already split! They are out there, not here!" She objected. On some rational level she knew she was letting her emotions get the better of her. Bellamy was right. She knew that. And she hated it but she knew it. They had to stay in one place, consolidate their forces, strengthen their defenses. It gave them the best chance of survival.
The needs of a few didn't out weigh the needs of the many. And dammit if she didn't hate that. "What am I meant to do? I can't help here. I can't help them." Her voice was soft, sad; frightened. Leia started pacing in the next minute, back and forth across his tent. biting and roughly at her nails. "Am I just meant to wait here to die?"

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Leiana hated how his first instinct was to question if everything was okay. It shouldn't have been that way; they shouldn't have always been assuming the worst would happen. Being asked that question threatened to undo her. She blinked back the tears that welled in her eyes and sniffed indigently. She wasn't okay... not by a long shot. She was all alone, Clarke had left her without saying a thing, and she was frightened of everything. Leiana was struggling function most days and didn't know how to heal herself. So no, everything wasn't okay.
"Can you define okay because I don't know the meaning anymore...." She said, forcing out a laugh as she moved to sit on the edge of his bed. Her words were sarcastic, poking fun at a sensitive issue and pulling at the stitches of her barely healed heart. It was a horrid defense mechanism she had learnt since being on the ground. She she poked fun at the painful issues first, others didn't. Leia took a deep breath, trying to calm herself and keep the tears and emotions at bay.
She didn't want to think about Mount Weather, not now, not ever. "I wanted to ask you a favor." She said after a moment. Leiana wasn't looking at him, didn't think she could without the guilt eating at her manifesting into hysteria. "I want you to teach me how to fight. Please."

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The camp was in a frenzy now that news of the grounder attack had spread. The delinquents were busy fortifying the gate, the walls, building and planting land mines to defend their home. And Bellamy wasn't letting anyone leave, not even to go looking for their missing friends; Clarke, Finn, Monty, had all been missing for some time now. Leiana was worried sick about them and wanted desperately to go looking for them but the countdown until the grounders arrived was quickly ticking by.
Leiana felt... useless. She couldn't fire a gun to save her life, couldn't fight her way out of a wet paper bag. All she could do was... hide, and wait. And she hated it. Absolutely hated it. No one stopped her from storming into Bellamy's tent -- they were all too busy with all the tasks he had assigned them. With Clarke missing Bellamy was most certainly their uncontested leader; the one everyone was looking to for guidance, and answers, and advice.
"Bellamy!" She shouted at him; it wasn't that she was angry at him... she was panicking, she was frightened, and she was angry about the fact that she couldn't do anything to help her friends. "What the hell is going on? Why aren't we going out to look for them? They aren't safe out there, Bell!"

"Malia? It's nice to meet you." She was making small talk, trying to be friendly, to come across as non-threatening. Leiana hesitated for a moment longer, still not entirely convince that there wouldn't be a fight but when Malia didn't move away from her fire, or throw a spear, or shoot an arrow, she relaxed, if only slightly. She moved forward slowly and kept her hands up to show that she was unarmed and didn't pose a threat.
She sad down on the opposite side of the fire, her attention never leaving Malia for very long. Leiana was still tense, still expecting the worst of the worst. And could you blame her? After everything the grounders had done to the delinquents, almost killing Jasper, torturing John, practically poisoning them with some unknown virus? Yeah, the distrust was understandable. "Did you get trapped by the acid fog as well?"

So, he wanted to leave the camp. That was an understandable desire, at least in her opinion. But the man, who she had thought one of the guards called John, was going about it the wrong way. He was being too loud, too vocal, making a scene. He was going to start a fight and he was going to lose. But... she understood. They had all been trapped on the Ark with no hope of survival and now they were trapped down here because of the grounders surrounding them. And there wasn't anything any of them could do about it. Their fate was in the hands of someone else.
Leia hesitated for only a second before following him, though she slipped out through a part of the fence that wasn't electrified at the moment... it was the same spot that the other delinquents often used to sneak out without the adults knowing. Out in the forest it was dark, quiet, almost eerily so, though the moon and stars provided enough light to not trip, even with her poor vision. He called out when he figured out that he was being followed, and once more Leia hesitated in making her presence known.
"You know, if I was a grounder," she began, her voice soft, a slight smile on her lips as she continued moving forward. "I wouldn't respond. I would have just attacked you. Spears in the chest seems to be a normal thing for the grounders in this area." Why had she followed him out here? She couldn't say. Maybe because she too had wanted to escape.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ It was funny how day by day nothing ever seemed to change... but when looking back everything was different. How long had it been since she had felt free, not trapped by the circumstances she and the other delinquents had been forced into when they were sent to Earth? How long had it been since she and Clarke had been together? It had been forever and a day. But there it was--a familiar voice calling her name, a familiar blonde head of hair, a familiar smile, a familiar skipping of her heart when she saw the woman through deteriorating vision.
"Clarke!" Leiana was running then, stumbling slightly, laughing, crying, as the emotions overcame her. There was relief from seeing her dearest friend alive and well as well as happiness. A touch of lingering anger from it having been so long since they had been together. Leiana practically tackled Clarke. Her arms going around the woman as she clung to her, crying freely, tears of happiness. "Clarke! You're alive! I can't believe it!"

❧ Leiana looked away from him then. She looked down so that her hair fell around her face to hide the way her cheeks flushed pink at his words. She didn't know why it made her blush. Maybe because what he had said was unexpected, or maybe because she didn't think that trying to smile and be happy in a world gushing blood deserved such a statement. Leiana wasn't doing anything special, she wasn't anything special.
Not like Raven, or Clarke, or Octavia. No, she was just being herself, she was just trying to make the best of a worse situation. Leia swallowed hard to dislodge the lump that was suddenly in her throat, and tucked her hair behind her ears when she thought she'd stopped blushing. She looked back up at him, a soft smile on her mouth, her expression almost coy. "I would like that. It would seem were going to be here for a while, so I think it's a lovely idea, us getting to know each other."

❧ Her brows drew together in concern. I'm fine, he said but he was lying. That much was obvious from the way he couldn't look at her. Leiana frowned slightly, sighed softly as he explained that it was Dax. The news surprised her and it shouldn't have. She often forget that they were all criminals to some degree or another. It only made sense that they'd turn on each other sooner or later, and she hated knowing that. Bellamy casually revealed that Dax was dead and her mind went racing again; questions bubbled to the surface but would remain unasked.
"Yeah... I'm okay. It was a weird night... Monty ate a pine cone." She'd spent most of the night pacing, waiting for Clarke's return, and then later hid, cowering because her father was in the camp trying to kill her. Now that she was sober she knew that it simply wasn't possible but at the time it had bought back a lot of old memories that were better left forgotten. Her hand was still on his shoulder and she squeezed gently, trying to reassure him that she wasn't going anywhere, trying to get him to look at her again. With the opposite hand she very carefully pushed aside the guns on the table so she could lean against. "It's going to be a long night, right?" She smiled, trying to be comforting, even if she felt worried sick. She hoped that Clarke was okay and would definitely check on her soon... but right now her focus was on Bellamy. "So I've got time for a long story. You can talk to me, Bellamy, if you need someone to talk to..."

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The first few night after escaping Mount Weather she had spent crying herself to sleep. What the delinquents had gone through was... horrible and she still had nightmares about it; she couldn't stop her mind from going back to it. It was so much worse for Clarke and Bellamy Her heart broke for the both of them, knowing what they had done to save their people. Except Clarke was gone. She'd left them. Leiana had wanted to go after her, to try and help her. But for the first few days she just couldn't convince herself to leave her room. She was terrified that she'd wake up and still be in Mount Weather... watching Jasper getting closer to Maya... worrying about where Clarke was... being experimented on...
Finally she'd decided that she needed to get busy. She needed to find something to do to keep her mind from reliving what had happened, from concocting scenarios of what would have happened if... Leiana closed her eyes tight to stop that thought. She couldn't think about it. It would end up making her break down crying again. She she had made a decision -- she was going to learn to fight. She was going to learn to defend herself so that no one could take advantage of her again... so that she wasn't such an easy target.
Leia took a deep, calming breath before knocking as she entered his room. "Bellamy... do you have a minute?" She wasn't looking at him, was talking softly. There wasn't anyone else she trusted to help her other then Bellamy. Clarke was gone... there was no one else for her to turn to except him and she hated that. He had done so much for her and the delinquents already, he had guilt filling his heart, eating at him. But keeping busy just might help him also. If he taught her how to fight, how to handle a gun, it might just be enough to keep his mind what had happened at Mount Weather... off of what he had done.

❧ The gasp that escaped her when he looked up was loud, shattering the silence. Her hands shot up to cover her mouth, hiding the shock but it was there to be seen on her face, in her eyes. "Shit Bellamy!" She hesitated for barely a second before rushing to his side. Her hand touched his shoulder, trying to keep his attention of her as she studied each dark, angry bruise that marked his face. Leiana frowned slightly, her brows knitting together in concern. "That's really bad." She felt stupid for saying that. He knew how bad it was without having to be told.
He was probably fine and would probably shrug of her concern. But knowing that didn't stop her heart from hurting for him. "Have you have someone have a look at you? You could be really hurt." Yeah, okay, she hated to see him like this.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The past few days had been difficult to say the least. Bellamy had kept his word and Leiana hadn't been given any food because she refused to remove the bracelet. And then one day all of them had gotten fried... so it didn't matter anymore. Leiana hadn't dwelled on it as there was nothing to be done about it. Instead she had spent the past several hours pacing around the camp, waiting, sulking, fretting, because Clarke was still somewhere out in the forest... alone with Bellamy.
And even though she knew that Clarke was capable of taking care of herself... she was worried. But she had heard from one of Bellamy's henchmen that they'd returned, and was hurrying through to camp in search of Clarke. She burst into the drop ship, panting slightly, looking almost relieved and excited. "Clarke! You're back!" She fell silent and stopped in her tracks when her vision adjusted to the drop ship enough for her to see that it was definitely not Clarke.
Leiana found herself staring at Bellamy... who looked like he was sorting and storing... guns? She stared at him, surprised, stunned, and unsure what to say. She hadn't heard anything about guns and she didn't know if she should be frightened or not. So she only stared, like a deer in headlights. "Bellamy?" She said his name softly, softer then when she had called out for the blonde woman. "What's all this?"
