It was late at night, with only a few guards on patrol and a a person lingering here or there. It should have been peaceful, it should have felt safe. Leiana still felt like a prisoner, like she hadn't actually escaped Mount Weather. There were still walls, still fences around her, fences that she wasn't allowed past without permission, without a valid reason, without adult supervision it seemed. She was still being treated like a child, like she couldn't take care of herself like she was some fragile, innocent thing. She hated it. Almost as much as she hated that the Ark had come to earth, that the adults had so casually taken charge.
It was why she was out so late; pacing, staring at the guards with irritation. That was until there was a noise, the sounds of an argument, caught her attention and she had began moving in that direction. She didn't know what to expect; probably some of the adults arguing about who was in charge, because that had apparently become a reoccurring thing while the delinquents were trapped in Mount Weather. Whatever she had expected, she wasn't surprised to see a man -older then her by a few years- arguing with two of the guards.
Leiana was careful not to get close enough to draw their attention to her, but close enough to be able to hear what was being said. She was curious; what was so important that they had to argue in the middle of the night?

Such a damned place to be, this camp, always roaming with people doing things, always seemingly crowded and with the possibility to meet the persons you wanted to see the least. They called it “Camp Jaha”, the most idiotic name they could have ever thought of... They chose the name of a dictator, a chancellor; the same men that his parents wished to detonate for a better future. John smiled as he shifted into his bunk bed. He had his music player snatched from the ark but he couldn’t sit still enough to listen to more than one song. He got up from the bed sighing and mumbled “Camp Jaha my a*s. Detention center more likely.”
He ran out of the building in which the rooms where, and making his way through a murmuring wandering galore of people, or so it seemed, he reached the fence. Pretending to ignore the guards he went past through them and pushed the gate going out. Almost at the same moment the two guards followed him with a visible intention to stop him. “Freeze John! No going out at night. There are grounder reports...”
Rampage spoke “Oh yes there are actual people reports outside, people that you murderers can’t stand, I know.” He turned towards the guards and camp fence.
The guard spoke: “Grounders are violent and kill. They are a danger both to you and this camp. So fall BACK!”
John spoke: “Ohh, killers? ... Like Jaha? Like some of you? Like the enforcing mechanism of Jaha’s free f****g will? Go float yourselves! I am leaving this cam with you still doing your guard duty or just laying here unconscious until grounders come. You choose!”
The other guard approached: “Leave him be, he’ll be back. We will keep on securing the gate. If he returns we’ll be here.”
John made a mocking bow to the guards and disappeared stealthily into the darkness. The air was crisp and you could actually see the stars. He patted his back two times feeling his hidden piston and checked his thigh for the knife scabbard. He wished that all the guards will meet a real thread rather than grounders... maybe a riot... the old style riots on the ark. Tight spaces make people want to fight more and be more determined to overthrow power.
Suddenly he seem to feel the presence of someone else. Revealing his knife he said on a normal tone: “Hey, who’s there? Grounder or arker, respond!” He crouched a bit to the ground clearly knowing that he wasn’t alone. He could have sworn that he saw a silhouette.

So, he wanted to leave the camp. That was an understandable desire, at least in her opinion. But the man, who she had thought one of the guards called John, was going about it the wrong way. He was being too loud, too vocal, making a scene. He was going to start a fight and he was going to lose. But... she understood. They had all been trapped on the Ark with no hope of survival and now they were trapped down here because of the grounders surrounding them. And there wasn't anything any of them could do about it. Their fate was in the hands of someone else.
Leia hesitated for only a second before following him, though she slipped out through a part of the fence that wasn't electrified at the moment... it was the same spot that the other delinquents often used to sneak out without the adults knowing. Out in the forest it was dark, quiet, almost eerily so, though the moon and stars provided enough light to not trip, even with her poor vision. He called out when he figured out that he was being followed, and once more Leia hesitated in making her presence known.
"You know, if I was a grounder," she began, her voice soft, a slight smile on her lips as she continued moving forward. "I wouldn't respond. I would have just attacked you. Spears in the chest seems to be a normal thing for the grounders in this area." Why had she followed him out here? She couldn't say. Maybe because she too had wanted to escape.

Rampage kept gazing into the blackness as someone appeared out of the dark. He didn’t wish to fight grounders and as weird as it seemed, he didn’t like the idea at all, not only because of survival but because he felt as an intruder into grounders territory, into their world. Fortunately the voice he heard wasn’t one with the usual unknown eerie tone of the ones not belonging to the Ark. He noticed the small figure and smiled as the girl approached. He didn’t know her name though he saw her around sometimes. Sheathing his knife he spoke: “A grounder’s spear is more fair intention that a guard’s bullet in the back. Definitely done for a better cause than the bullet mentioned above.”He lowered his voice so that they would not be heard. “My name is John although people like to call me Rampage. Even outcasts desire a moment of peacefulness out of the camp, sometimes even human company. Don’t worry, we’re safe out here, as long as there’s no army around. Why would you get out in the middle of the night? As you said before.... the woods are no as lonely as they seem.”Rampage approached the girl and patted her back gently. “Good to know you’re not a grounder anyway...” There was something to her that asked for protection, somehow... Leiana stared at him, her eyes slightly wide and brows raised. A better cause? The way her mouth pulled into a tight line would so that she didn't agree with him, not in the slightest. Jasper hadn't done anything wrong, hadn't known that he was trespassing, and they had speared him in the chest, almost killing him. What better cause could that had been for? Leiana sighed hard, swallowing her anger. This man didn't know any better, and she hated that he didn't. None of them truly understood what she and the other delinquents had lived through.
So she let his comment slide, for now. He asked so many questions, none of which had a simple answer. "John. It's nice to meet you. I'm Leiana. Or Leia for short, if you prefer." Leiana flinched when he patted her on the back, not because she thought he might hurt her but because she didn't trust him anymore then she trusted the other Arkers. "I know these forest better then you." She told him, her tone serious, as she moved passed him. Her steps naturally moving her toward the delinquent drop shop... to home.
"Even in the dark, I'll always know them better." These forests had been her home from the moment their drop ship landed. "I can't fault you on wanting peace. Being out here alone... watching the stars, is definitely peaceful. But you should be careful. Grounders don't care for Sky People. Even with Clarke working on peace for our people, some of them might try to hurt you."
