And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The camp was in a frenzy now that news of the grounder attack had spread. The delinquents were busy fortifying the gate, the walls, building and planting land mines to defend their home. And Bellamy wasn't letting anyone leave, not even to go looking for their missing friends; Clarke, Finn, Monty, had all been missing for some time now. Leiana was worried sick about them and wanted desperately to go looking for them but the countdown until the grounders arrived was quickly ticking by.
Leiana felt... useless. She couldn't fire a gun to save her life, couldn't fight her way out of a wet paper bag. All she could do was... hide, and wait. And she hated it. Absolutely hated it. No one stopped her from storming into Bellamy's tent -- they were all too busy with all the tasks he had assigned them. With Clarke missing Bellamy was most certainly their uncontested leader; the one everyone was looking to for guidance, and answers, and advice.
"Bellamy!" She shouted at him; it wasn't that she was angry at him... she was panicking, she was frightened, and she was angry about the fact that she couldn't do anything to help her friends. "What the hell is going on? Why aren't we going out to look for them? They aren't safe out there, Bell!"

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had a rare moment of solitude, alone in his tent, trying to collect his thoughts. He was looking at a makeshift map, one that they had all managed to create based on patrols and what they knew thus far of the wooded area. His hands were on the table, head lowered to intently study the area . . . until a voice broke through just as easily as the person did through his tent flaps. Bellamy straightened and look at Leiana, clear fear in her voice and evident on her face.
She wasn't the only one. Bellamy knew that it was not only strategy that would make them victorious, but also . . . morale. And going after the three missing people right now was something he knew a few of them were fixed on doing. Leiana was apparently among them. "We go out there now, we'll divide our forces." They did not have the advantage of numbers. But they had the advantage of guns. "We need to fortify our position here first. Then we'll worry about the others." It could after all be a way to lure them out; break into separate groups. Which, was going to be extremely dangerous. "We have to stay as one force right now. It's too damn risky." He wasn't dismissing the possibility of going after them . . . but that could also be exactly what the Grounders wanted.

❧ Leiana stared at him in a mixture of emotions; disbelief, heartache -- his response irritated her. Damn him for being right. Damn him and his logic. She wanted to smack him in that moment... wanted to break down into tears. How could he be so calm in the face of what would surely be the death of them all? How could he just leave his friends out there in the wilderness?
"Our forces are already split! They are out there, not here!" She objected. On some rational level she knew she was letting her emotions get the better of her. Bellamy was right. She knew that. And she hated it but she knew it. They had to stay in one place, consolidate their forces, strengthen their defenses. It gave them the best chance of survival.
The needs of a few didn't out weigh the needs of the many. And dammit if she didn't hate that. "What am I meant to do? I can't help here. I can't help them." Her voice was soft, sad; frightened. Leia started pacing in the next minute, back and forth across his tent. biting and roughly at her nails. "Am I just meant to wait here to die?"
