It was just as well the hum still kept her up sometimes, since other times her memories made her restless. Nia's voice still echoed in her dreams some days, even after she'd come to see there had been better ways to do things. Nia's way was the only way.
Echo was standing at the window, looking down at Earth. Slowly it had changed colors over the years. It was supposed to be the five year mark later this year. The mark to which they would go back to the ground. They had yet to find a way. Which meant they might be a little late in getting back home. Which was both good and bad. For her it meant not having to deal with the repercussions of of her choices yet, and not being able to see the people she grew up with yet. Would their really be peace?
Hearing steps behind her, she smiled to herself without turning. She knew these steps. They had come to mean more to her then she could ever imagine. Loyalty that had been demanded, and forced into her as a child--now grew stronger then ever before with love. "There is just no walking up on someone here." She teased, knowing footsteps echoed up here more so then they had on the ground.

For the moment, everything seemed to still. After the chaos of fighting for this place, they could move forward with peace. Maybe. There was a small complication. Echo kept quite about it for now, but she knew she needed to come clean to Bellamy. He was going to go with Octavia to look at the markings on her back, but that was waiting until morning. Since Bellamy was talking to Gabriel and it seemed the conversation might last, she knew she needed to interrupt.
She hated bringing this on them. She knew how bad he wanted peace, and it seemed he was just moving on with his sister. Yet there was some things he needed to know. Mostly--that she was now a nightblood, and the flame was no longer in Maddie. Which meant when and if the others found out . . . . so much for peace.
"You need rest," she said, walking up to softly interrupt the men talking. "Oso gaf gon chichplei." Her face held a smile, but she knew he would understand the words that Gabriel would not. We need to talk. Without letting too many people know.

Echo hadn't expected to like motherhood so much, or to have taken too it like she did. As a warrior, she was built to fight, and motherhood hadn't been something she'd ever thought about. Feeling the warmth on her hand, she smiled over at her son's father. "Ready." She promised, and gave his hand a squeeze before reaching for the blanket that she'd brought their young son.
Bellamy would enter the codes, and wake up their son. Echo hadn't missed the slight limp that he had, and knew he needed to rest it. Resting her hands on the glass she waited for him to tell the computer what to do. "And he'll wake up safe?" she asked, knowing that Bellamy wouldn't risk their son, but still needing to know.
The world of the sky people was one she had learned over the time she spent watching them, and the five years she'd spent on the ark in space. She never had imagined worlds beyond theirs and the fact that she was among the ones who now walked on another plant was heavy. She wanted this world to be better then the ones they had known. She wanted him to grow strong, but unburrened by the fight or die that she'd known her who her live.

Echo and Octavia had encountered each other over and over in this life. First when Echo had lead them all into a trap in Polis and disappeared. Then again when they'd fought and Echo thought she'd killed Octavia thus stopping her from warning Skikru about Azgeda's attack. Later when Octavia demanded she spy for her. And now, on the ship as everyone was moving to get into the pods to 'sleep' in ice. On Earth if you'd gotten frozen in Ice Nation you didn't wake up. This was more of the science that she didn't know or understand. She had to go on faith that it would all end well. That when they turned the machines off everyone would wake up just like they were now.
Octavia was sitting alone, and Echo approached her, moving to sit on the other side of the table before her. They needed to deal with this between them. Once they woke up, wherever that might be, they needed to be ready. Since they were both some of the best fighters, they needed to be ont he same team and ready to move on. Besides, Echo had been Bellamy's lover for over 3 years now. She knew how much he loved his sister. She wanted peace between them so that when Bellamy was ready he could forgive his sister too.
Redemption was something important for her. She had over come all that she had done, including losing honor with her people, to be the woman she was now. Finally free from who she had been. "Octivia," she greeted, and waited to see how the younger woman would react to her sitting here.

Echo had been a spy long enough to know how lies worked. When you didn't want someone to know what was really happening you gave them a story that was too easy to believe. You then disreacted them with information and finished by removing their chance to think of questions to ask. She knew she was being lied too now. This normally would have only made her curious but she was being lied too about Bellamy--and that pissed her off.
Moving sightly and around the building she paused until she heard the footsteps coming. She had watched him for a few minute to see him go off alone. Once Miller passed by her, Echo grabbed him and pulled him behind the building. Glancing behind him she made sure no one was watching, before looking back at him. "Bellamy is not on a mission to scout a new site for us. We're being lied too." Echo got right to the point. They needed a plan, and quickly, because she was going to look where they said he was going, and then find the truth.

The sound of crashing made everyone freeze. Another crash on the ceiling of the bunker had everyone looking up. A third made roof shake, and rumble fall to the pit. The fighters moved out of the way as a fourth and finally crash broke through the stone and sunlight broke in. Everyone turned their faces away or shielded their eyes as the first rays of sunlight in 6 years touched their pale skin. As the first scent of the outside world begin to fill the large around room. Then a figure moved down into the hole and lowered himself to the pit floor.
They were free! For a moment it was all Echo could think as she blinked against the sun. She couldn't see anything beyond the outline of the body at first. Slowly his face came into view. Octavia moved to hug her brother, and Echo--who was stationed near the door to the council room fell back slightly to rest her back on the door. Bellamy. He was alive! He was here and had freed them! She didn't know how he'd done it yet but seeing sunlight for the first time in years made her not care. They could leave this place!
They could this place. Her and Shado. The only reason she had been allowed to live was because of him. Bellamy's son. Bloodreina's kin. He was even now safely tucked away. Echo having been assigned here and having no choice was but comply or end up in the pits. Right now she was grateful, because she would not have believed this without seeing it with her own eyes. Moving forward she stepped toward the siblings, and the sunlight.

This wasn't what they planned. They had planned to break out the crew that was on the ground and find a way to live in the garden. The space ship had been an unwanted factor but without them they wouldn't have gotten to the ground and they wouldn't have gotten the people out of the bunker. So they would deal with that. Echo also knew that Octavia was still upset that she had killed her once. Almost. And there was plenty of other reasons. She had led them into a trap in Polis, and stabbed her, and cheated. But the deal had been struck. Spy for Octavia, and get to join Wonkru with Bellamy.
She'd take it in an instant. Not that she had a choice.
Bellamy wasn't happy with the idea. She knew seeing his sister in this light was hard on him, and that he loved her. He didn't want her going to the other side knowing what could happen. Echo had been walking among her enemies since she was a child. This was nothing new to her. "You have to stay here," She told him in a direct tone. There was no use for two of them to risk their lives. He knew it. She knew it. He needed to stay here and help his sister make better choices. Help make sure they had someone they could trust on this side too. It wasn't what she wanted (being apart of him) but he was safer here. Lifting her hand she rested it on his neck.

Echo walked down the lines of chambers, many with people already frozen. On Earth if you'd gotten frozen in Ice Nation you didn't wake up. This was more of the science that she didn't know or understand. She had to go on faith that it would all end well. That when they turned the machines off everyone would wake up just like they were now.
Turning to stand near hers she found Bellamy had been walking behind her. With everyone moving around them she hadn't heard him behind her. "Soft steps," she complemented, liking that he had learned so much over the years. It was easier to focused on that then it was to focus on the fact that he was here because he would put her in this cry-o and freeze her. Lifting her hands she tucked her fingers into his jacket, and held on to him there.
Everything on the ground had been so unexpected, and they'd had to be apart for a lot of it. Echo liked that they had both stayed loyal. That he hadn't doubted her. She wasn't Azgeda. She was with him and their friends. That small band of people were her people now. They might have had reason to doubt she would keep that loyalty, but they hadn't blinked to shown it. And she'd never given them a reason too.

Echo was often restless. There was both a lot to do up here and not a lot to do up here. On one hand they all had chores to do in order to stay alive. Once they were done however . . . .
They all had nothing to do. Which was why Echo had pointed out that being able to fight was more then just about taking on and killing someone. It was about keeping your body ready to take on any challenge. It was about learning to survive. It would help them stay busy and fit at the same time. It would also help them survive once on the ground. For whatever came at them.
Which was why Echo was standing on one side of the mat and watching Bellamy on the other. Most were sleeping or working in their area, so they were alone this time. "You fight like Skikru," Echo told him, trying to get him to break out of his need to think so narrow in a fight. He held back. He didn't want to hurt her or whoever he was fighting. He needed to cut that out. His blows needed to be deadly, directed, and with power behind it or he'd never win a fight.

Space. An adapt name for the place. It was every empty here. Echo had already been scouting through out this place to try to explore. It was hard to sleep with the sounds here. The 'hum' she was told was because the motor moving. The way each step she made no longer was muted but had sound bothered her. The way when people were talking she had trouble telling from which way the voices came from. The air still smelled dusty here, and the scents of the snow, or flowers, or trees--it was gone. Looking down at the burning Earth, she knew there was a chance it could be gone forever. Would five years really change so much?
She heard footsteps coming but didn't look up from the ball she had found. She was bouncing it against the wall and catching it. The soft thuds rymthic as she kept up the steady pace. Belomi. Their past was tense. Meeting the cages. Building a bond, only to have Lexa betray them. She hadn't liked. It wasn't right the way they left Skikru there. Had she been able, she would have done more then, but naked and weak from loss of blood she hadn't been able to do more. Then came the rest.
Stopping the ball she looked up at him. "It's different here." In so many ways. "Can't see the sun." The sun and moon had used to measure her sleeping patterns but now there was only 'ship cycles'. "And you?" What kept him up at this . . . early? Late? time.

If there was something Echo took pride in, it was the fact that she was the best spy in the land, and one of the most feared. She could move without being seen, fight harder, and was smarter. It came from years of being pushed harder and faster by Nia. So no, Echo didn't miss. Any arrow that left her fingers found it's target unless there was some drastic complication.
Even among the Azgeda people, Echo was known and 'respected'. Sometimes even feared. All obeyed her knowing that Queen Nia used Echo as a spy and personal assassin. Most didn't dare speak to her in such a way. Echo didn't have many friends. She'd learned at a young age that you didn't make friends. Friends was a weakness.
Pausing to stand over the man, Echo looked down at him for a long silent moment before a smile broke out. "They each made their own kill." She told him, and moved to sit near him, offering up a small wrapped package of heated meat. Folding her legs so they crossed she ate her own meat. "My blade is getting loos from the handle." It was both asking him to fit it, while informing him it needed to be fixed.
