TIPS FOR GETTING THREADS STARTED

We we have all been there on any forum! You're new, perhaps a little nervous and unsure where to start! We are proud to say that everyone on this site is extremely friendly and welcoming! Below are just some tips and suggestions to help you get started in the role play once your character application has been approved! They are not in any order, as it is entirely up to member preference!

Start A Plotter: A plotter helps give everyone a little summary of your character as well as what sort of dynamics and plots you may be interested in playing out! You can post it in this very board [Starting Your Journey] and it can be up to your own creativity how you would like to post it! People include things such as a summary of their character's past, a sum up of their personality, whether they are looking for friends, lovers, enemies, etc! It just helps other members get an overview of your character and thus, potential inspiration for plots with them!

Reply To Plotters: Within this board we have many plotters from characters! If you would like a thread with a certain character, you are welcome to reply to their plotter to express this interest! This will also help the other member know that you would like a thread with them as they can assist with plotting out ideas! It is an easy and fast way to get the ball rolling on threads with someone who strikes your fancy!

PM Members: Say there is a particular character you would like to thread with, but you are too shy to post in their plotter, or ask publicly for threads. Sending them a PM is a GREAT way to plot with members! This allows the two of you to work through ideas (maybe you have more than one) and iron out the details of it! Talking to members one on one also helps alleviate any nervousness you may have been otherwise feeling and you can get a good idea of their character as well as the direction of threads! This really is an excellent way to get plots with other characters!

Plot Ads: In THIS board, we have what are called Plot Ads! This is where a member posts an idea they have for a plot or thread, but are unsure who to have that thread with. If you are looking for plots, this place is a great board to look through! Maybe you want threads but don't have any immediate ideas; this board will help with that as you may find an idea that intrigues you! If that's the case, you are welcome to reply to any of the plot ads posted in there OR PM the member that started it so that you two can work out the details through either of these methods! Feel free to start any threads in here as well if you have certain ideas but are unsure who to ask for them! You can post the idea for the plot here and see who responds!

Chat Box: The Chat Box is a wonderful way to interact with other members! We encourage everyone to converse in it and get to know the other fantastic rpers on the site! It is also a great way to perhaps start plotting out threads with another. We would suggest not making vague remarks such as "I need threads" and await someone to offer. Perhaps be a bit more direct in asking a specific member if they would like threads, rather than waiting for others to offer as sometimes members are unsure whether their character is desired to be plotted with! If you are chatting with a member, and find you would like to have threads with them, be proactive! You could get the ball rolling asking what their characters are like (if you don't already know) and ask them if they would like a thread with you! Guaranteed you will be met with enthusiasm and readiness to plot! From there, it is up to you whether you would like to plot out the rest via chat box or PM! Sometimes we do suggest transferring over to PM for more complex plots so that others will not feel as if they are interrupting while chatting amongst each other, as the CB is a public place for everyone to talk!
