The Arkers Arkers, or Sky People, are those who are descendants of humans who survived the nuclear apocalypse for 97 years. They reside in what is known as The Ark, a station that is orbiting in space. For nearly a century they have been surviving on limited resources and with extremely strict laws. One such law being that each family was only allowed one son or daughter. This limited the population on the Ark to ensure that there were not too many people. The only family who seemed to successfully break this law for some time was the Blake family, until they were eventually caught.
They are governed by a Council that is responsible for making executive decisions. It is led by the Chancellor. Project Exodus was a plan set by the Council for the eventual return to Earth once they knew their resources would inevitably return. They had laws already set in motion for when they do return.
All crimes in the Ark were capital and criminals were executed immediately. This was done by 'floating them', meaning that they were released into space. Those under the age of 18 were sent to lock up until they reached said age and were given a trial. If found guilty, they were floated. One hundred of these delinquents were sent to Earth to see if it was survivable and were promised that their crimes would be pardoned.
The Guard was the security team on the Ark and were in charge of reinforcing the laws that were expected to be followed by all Arkers. This included surprise inspections of the Sky People's living quarters and standing guard during council meetings. They worked toward law enforcement and providing protection for those in the Ark. They were also responsible for carrying out punishments for criminals and floating them when found guilty. Guard cadets are responsible for chaperoning public gatherings, i.e. dances. The Guard wear a special uniform and are equipped with weapons to use when necessary.
The Sky People like to celebrate the holiday called Unity Day in which they give thanks to the people of the 12 space stations that were still active during and after the nuclear war. These 12 stations in an unspecified year came together because they knew that life would be better together. Unity Day has been celebrated presumably every October 1st since this event.
They are able to metabolize high amounts of radiation as a result of advanced genetic engineering and living in space for a prolonged period of time. This ability to filter radiation with no effects on their health makes them essentially immune to any form of radiation poisoning much like the Grounders.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: What is this site based on?
A: This role play is based on the tv series The 100.
Q: Is the site based on the television series or the books?
A: Television Series. Because the book series is so drastically different from the TV series, we are focused more on the television series. If there is a character you want to play in the books who is not in the show, you can do so as long as it does not drastically conflict with the series. If there are events in the book that you would like to play out that did not happen in the show and are out of canon, then you have the freedom to explore these plots in the AU board.
Q: Is there a set timeline on the site?
A: No. Threads can take place any time before, during, or after any of the episodes in any of the seasons. We also have an AU section where you can have "What If..." threads.
Q: How many times do I have to post as my character?
A: We ask that you post at least 2 times a week. If you have multiple characters, then that is 2 times a week PER character.
Q: How many characters am I allowed to have?
A: You are permitted to have as many made up characters as you like, however please remember the posting requirement and don't take more than you can handle. While we have no set rule limiting the number of canons, we ask that if you are taking more than one canon, that neither of those characters have many scenes together as we would not want to create any character conflict by the same person taking two characters that interact a great deal. For example: one person taking Bellamy and Octavia.
Q: Do I have to wait for the admin to approve my bio?
A: Yes. We require that you wait until bio approval before posting anywhere in the role play, plotting in the Plots & Plans thread, or requesting graphics. You will receive a PM from us when your bio has been approved.
Q: Can I apply for canon characters that are not in the cast list?
A: Yes. Since there are so many characters, we have only listed a few of the main ones, but any canons not listed there are assumed to be open for application.
Q: Can I apply for canon characters that died in the show?
A: Yes. However if you wish to play that canon, then you can only have threads that take place before their death. Or if you would like threads that take place where they did not die or somehow returned, then those threads must be posted in the "AU What If" board.
Q: Which boards are role play ones?
A: Any boards listed under the category "Role Play Locations" are boards for role play threads to be posted in. Please do not post any rp threads outside of these boards.
Q: Am I allowed to be in more than one thread at one time?
A: Yes. You are permitted to have your character in more than one thread at one time since there is no set timeline on the board. Just be sure you can keep track of all the threads you are in and that you can handle all of them. A suggestion would be bookmarking them to keep track. |

The Plot It has been 97 years since a nuclear war has devastated Earth. The only known survivors were approximately 400 inhabitants of 12 national space stations that were in orbit at the time. For generations, people have survived in space on what is known as The Ark. The Ark has extremely strict laws and those over 18 who break them, are what is called 'floated', meaning they are sent out into space.
Realization came to those in power that resources are running out and that the Ark will not survive for much longer. It was imperative to discover whether Earth was livable and so 100 juvenile prisoners were sent down to Earth as test subjects to determine whether humans could live on Earth once again. What they did not know, was that they were not the only humans who survived for on Earth are groups known as Grounders, Reapers, Mountain Men and so much more, including strange creatures and peculiar places.
Eventually, those on the Ark joined the others just in time to fight a war against others who threaten their existence. What side will you choose? Who's war will you fight? And what will you do to survive?
This role play is based on the hit series The 100, based on Kass Morgan's novel, The 100. There is no set timeline on the site, as threads can take place before, during, or after any of the episodes in any of the seasons. AU plots are also permitted in the appropriate board.

- Admin Approval: You must wait for your bio to be approved before you can post in the role play, as well as the the plots and plans board, and the graphic requests section. You will receive a PM once your bio has been approved.
- WIP Bios: You are permitted to post WIP (Work In Progresss) bios. However, if it is not complete after 5 days of being posted, then the bio will be taken down If it was for a canon character, then we will ask you wait a week before reapplying.
- AU Threads: We do have an AU (alternate universe) board. This is for threads that step outside the canon verse of the plot. This involves romantic relationships that are not canon, or 'What If' scenarios that could have changed the course of the plot
- Third Person: All posts must be written in third person (he, she, they), not first person (I, me, my).
- Post Size: We ask that each post be a minimum of two paragraphs long. Please make sure to give enough to reply to so that the person you are role playing with does not feel inconvenienced.
- Posting Minimum: For major canons (characters who have been in more than one episode of The 100) we require a minimum of three posts a week PER character. For minor canons (characters who have only been in one episode of The 100) we require a minimum of two posts a week PER character. For OCs we require a minimum of 1 posts a week PER character. Keep in in mind that this is the minimum and exceeding this would be great. This is to keep the threads moving and so that it is fair for other role players to not be waiting on people for a long time.
- Character Limit: While we do not have a limit as to how many characters you can play we ask that you take only as many as you can handle.
- Account: If your account has not been signed into for over two weeks without an absence notice, then the character will be opened/archived.
- No God Modding: Do not control any other character apart from your own (i.e. making them say or do something in your post that they did not do in their own). Also, be respectful of the way they portray that character; do not pressure them to engage in plots that go against their preference of how they see their character act or think.
- Character Standard: Members are required to stay as close to their canon characters as possible. Once your bio is approved you are not permitted to edit anything in it without the admin's approval.
- Away Notice: If you are going to be away, you must post a notice. Furthermore, when posting an away notice then you must have a return date in that notice. If you are going to be absent for more than two weeks, you MUST speak to one of the staff members.

- Face Claim: Everyone must have a face claim for their character, represented by a real life celebrity. This means no anime or animated images permitted.
- Username: The name of your username should be the name of your character. Please do not register with a username of a character that you do not intend to play (i.e. registering with Clarke if you do not intend to write as her). This is to avoid confusion. Once you are approved, you will have the opportunity to select a unique posting color that your username will be changed to.
- Icon: Your icon should be an image of the character you are playing. The maximum size permitted is 150 pixels x 150 pixels. This will also be the image that appears on the forum when you are online.
- Avatar: Your avatar is an image that should also be a picture or a gif of your character. The dimensions for this are 250 x 400 pixels.
- Signature: Your signature/banner should be an image of the character you are playing. The maximum size permitted is a width of 600 pixels and a height of 300 pixels. This is to ensure that the board does not get stretched by an image that is too large.
- Crediting Graphics: If someone else has made your signature and/or av, you must add a line of credit stating the person who made it. You are not permitted to take and use graphics from tumblr, fanpop, or any other sites to avoid plgarism.
- Custom Title: Your custom title can only be changed by the admin and it will be the name of your character's group (i.e. Arker, Delinquent, Grounder, Mount Weather, Reaper, Other, AI).

- Chat Content: The chat box is a great place to meet other members and even plan threads. With that said, please do not rant, complain, bash, or post negative messages of any kind. As well, do not pressure members to post, or pressure the admins to approve your bio. We also ask that you not post extremely personal information about you, as your private life is just that: private. Please keep in mind that this a public place to talk and thus, require that everyone feel comfortable with the conversation taking place in it.
- Discretion: Any conversation between a member and the admin is private. Do not post it or talk about it in the CB. If there is something we need to discuss with you privately, we will do so VIA PM. We require that you not talk about these issues in a public place for all members to see.
- Advertising: Absolutely no advertising in the Chat Box! There is a board for you all to post links to other sites. Please do not post links to other forums.
- In Character Chat: The IC [In Character] Chat Box is located at the bottom of the forum. This is a place to muse as your character and does not necessarily follow any specific plot. It is a great place for all sorts of in character fun and shenanigans.
- Out Of Character Chat: The OOC [Out Of Character] Chat Box is located at the left hand side of the forum. This is a place to chat and meet other members. Forum rules still apply.
