.:Personality:. Alex is rather indifferent and calm on every situation what happened. She doesn't like to stir up in important(mostly political) cases, however when someone need her, Alex will be right there. Unconsciously she's often in situation when one of her mutuals needs advise or consolation and Lightwood always says the truth doesn't caring if it would ache another person. She's also loyal, honest and rather trying to avoid conflicts. Alex usually forgive fast her enemies moreover she's always try to find agreement. But trusting others often can be disappointing for her. Alex isn't good in relationship things, and most of time she doesn't know how to show her amuse or approvement. Usually she's not talkactive. She doesn't give even a chance to help herself, doing everything of her own. Because of that people finds her as rude, boring person.
Lightwood isn't brave person, she's little scared of new people or possibilities in her way. Alex would be probably terrible leader, and she's happy that she has a chance to avoid the most important affairs. She doesn't like open fights or challanges, rather prefering to get things done silently and subtly, away from the eyes of others. It's probably caused by her fragile figure. Her only defence is intelligence. Lightwood is also patient person, ready to wait years for any results with peace and calm as always, which sometimes makes other crazy. She loves to use sarcasm, and when you say something rude to her, she will be hurted, but A would never shows this (probably she would say "hmpf", which would close conversation). In extremal situations she's usually angry as hell (possibly litlle crazy) and brave, but this combination often don't end really well.

.:History:. Alex was born on the Ark as the daughter of Miles and Sharon Lightwood. Her family was rather poor, but loving and strong bonded. Her father was the mechanic, mother was working in the kitchen. She was well-educated, not giving an problems in the Ark school. From the beginning she was most intrested in technology cases and mathemathics, but little worse in language and involving literature subjects. Her dream was to become engineer, but as we know life often make a decision for us. She hasn't got many friends, and to be honest she doesn't really care. As lonely type, she loved to visit old, abandoned quarters and because of that she learned lockpicking skills. Her parents don't liked that idea of her spending free time on wandering through the Ark, but she always had the last word when they argued.
In the age of twelve her mother get pregnat. They tried to hide this from the eyes of goverment, but five months later guards of the Ark come to their home and take Sharon to expulsate her due to her "crime". Miles can't deal with that loss, but in order to fulfill his last promise with Sharon, he try to stay cheerfull person for sake of Alex, and take care of her as best as he could. As little girl she doesn't really understand that situation, but in later years it maked her wonder if loyality toward Ark goverment is right thing. She started to think often about getting all secret informations of the goverment, feeling that something is not right. Strict rules dosen't make sense for her. When she was 16, she started to spin around the engineers room, observing patiently they job. Often they threw her out of the room, saying that she disrupts peace and don't allow them to make their work. Sometimes, they let her see a few things and even chat a little with her about their duties. However, as she suspected she doesn't find out when the most important data is kept, but Alex decided to break in into engineer room, when everyone will be sleeping and try to hack from one of computers some data from other devices placed in the Ark. As you'd expect, Lightwood had a luck and get to the room, but only when she touched main engineer computer, the alarm went off and all doors closed, locking her in the trap, until guards come. She only stayed alive, because of her age, but she ended up in jail for "juvenile offenders".
Sometimes, she tries lockpicking in there but it always was unsucessfull. They were guarded all the time, so even if she open it, there were still no escape. The only plus of it, was short survival lessons, which she finds interesting and make for first time some friends. When she heard about landing on Earth, Alex felt relief. It was only way for her to stay alive and possible see the legendary planet. The day when she finally smell the scnet of greenery was one of her happiest in her life. She become little more open to people, knowing that without it she's not going to survive. Lightwood still stayed as independent individual. Because of passion for exploring, abilities reached in the Ark and desire to have few moments of loneliness, she became the local hunter. People needed food and information about surrodings, but still only few of them was ready to decide to leave dropship. She loved new experiences in Earth, so she also loved her new job, comprehending it to the real freedom. Also it enabled her to keep wristband as long as she can, beacuse of her indepence in food case. In the end Alex needed to destroy it because of some other affairs caused by Bellamy and his people in drophsip, what made Miles - her father - belive in next loss in his life. He died like other two hundred people in the Ark, asphyxiated, believing in Alex death and wanting to give a chance to live other peoples in the ship. Young Lightwood because of that event again closed up to others, spending too much time in wilds with understanding the danger from grounders side. She was enough lucky to avoid capturing to Mount Weather.
Now Alex stopped grieving, but she's never going to trust people who in old days were in government, beliving and being loyal only to Clarke's and Bellamy's decisions. In Arkadia she finally get a chance to study engineery. She's focused on learning, ignoring next appearing affairs around her. Simultaneously when approving choice of Pike as the next chancellor - person who wasn't part of the Ark government - Alex is listening to the whispers of the rest of hundred. She begins to question if choices of their leaders are still proper ones...
