With Bellamy in school and no surprise inspection for the day, Aurora could actually spend a nice morning with just her perfect little daughter. Not for a moment did she regret having her. This little girl, who was currently carefully sorting through buttons – at least according to whatever system her little mind made up – was worth every risky situation, everything she had to do and pay in order to keep her safe and hidden. Everything for her kids, she had already gone so far for the both of them, for Bellamy alone, then for his little sister. To her there had never been a question about whether or not she would have her baby girl or not. She had to. She loved her from the moment she knew of her until now.
Really, she had expected a quiet afternoon just with Octavia, but that sadly got interrupted by banging on the door. It was way too loud, almost as loud as she would have expected it to be when a surprise inspection was scheduled. With none on announced to her, Aurora found herself panicking. She had to hide her daughter, to protect her, but instead, while Octavia seemed to be terribly vulnerable already, she managed to knock over all her supplies, causing her daughter to cry. It didn’t lessen the panic, but it set her priorities straight: Octavia. She had to calm her first, no matter what.
“It’s okay, baby. It’s okay.” Suddenly the cries got louder, Aurora heard the source of it rather than saw it. The door opened. She turned around and froze, mouth open in shock. Marcus. Of all the people on the Ark she did not expect to see him. She expected guards, she expected this to be her last moment, maybe it was still. What could he possibly want from her now? “Marcus… wh… what are you doing here?” What was she supposed to say? She started to gently bounce her – their – daughter in her arms. Marcus Kane

Some men were seriously pathetic, especially the older cadets in her class. Aurora had managed to get the clearance to go train with the men through hard physical exercise and discipline, but that didn’t stop the majority of them to treat her kind of badly. She was a woman, physically naturally weaker than them, but what they didn’t realize was, that her precious reproductive organs were inside and not such an easy target. On top of it, Aurora wasn’t beyond using a few dirty tricks. Absolutely nothing in the protocol ever stated that female cadets and guards couldn’t do that.
Aurora spoke to the one she had to fight later beforehand. He was really full of himself, loved to show off what he could do, how strong he was and he even went so far as to promise her to go easy on her. This poor fellow. Aurora paid close attention to what he said, to what he showed off, fully intending to use it later on. Once the sparing fight began, she quickly delivered a blow to his throat, followed by a well aimed kick to his weak ankle. The significantly taller guy screamed out, dropped to the floor and just like that the smaller female could pin him. “You were saying, big guy?” Aurora got up, smug smile on her face. “Anyone else?”

Solar Flares were usually no problem in the private quarters of people, but there were those exception when solar flares made problems. There were, of course privileged stations and places, which knew about them beforehand, giving Aurora enough time to make her way home, to make sure her two kids were safe during it. She came home to nothing. The small two person apartment was completely empty and with the lack of adjoining rooms, there was no way either of her kids were home. She didn’t even need to look under the floorboard, her teenage daughter would surely not be there as she hated the hideout, naturally. In truth Aurora couldn’t blame Octavia for wanting to break free, but it was just too dangerous. All of them could get killed and it might take a lot of persuasion to ensure Bellamys safety if that was ever the case.
To keep her hands and her mind busy, Aurora decided to fix a jacket. That would calm her down from all the horrible visions dancing through her mind. Her kids could be out there, hit by a solar flare. Or worse: Getting discovered. What the hell were they thinking? How the hell did Bellamy, her grown up son, allow this, assuming he was with her, which was likely true. At least he was with her. When the door opened – in time for the alarms of the solar flares – words failed her. They were together. At least they were save, but Aurora couldn’t help the disappointment in them. Every lecture she could have had for them, died on her tongue. Instead she reopened a sloppily fixed seam, not wanting to look at the two of them. blake Bellamy Blake

It was just as Tracy had always described it, the warmth on her face, the crackling of dirt and twigs under her feet. She would have never guessed for this to be where she would end up. Aurora Blake had been prepared to die after her secret was discovered, but as it turned out she had a guardian angel in the form of her childrens father. He had saved her. He had hid her. He had freed her from his apartment when the Ark was about to die. He had pulled her onto Mecha station with him, that way she survived, with him. Now they were here, relatively unharmed, on earth. Like a few of the others, Aurora felt hope and longing at the same time, as if being on the ground wasn’t enough and it wasn’t. It could never be, not for her. Not when she had been separated from her precious kids for too long. The possibility of their death never even crossed her mind, they were alive, she would feel it if they weren’t, right?
It took them a bit to gather their wits and even longer to find the weapons, but once they knew they were sufficiently armed, once they knew Alpha Station made it down as well, they made their way to the other crashed station, meanwhile also trying to locate the children, though for Aurora only two of them mattered. As if it was fate, they came across a scene that would possibly be burnt into her brain forever. Her son, her precious sons face was almost unrecognizable under so many cuts, but she knew it was her Bellamy, there was no doubt. And someone wanted to kill him. She would not let that happen. Having demanded a gun – having been a previous guard – she now raised it. It only took one shot for her, one clean shot into the Grounders head and the situation was dissolved, but could they be sure this was the only one.
“Are there any more of them?” She asked, needing to ensure the safety first. The others looked around then, as if they only just now thought of the possibility of this man not being alone. Though Kane chose that moment to speak up about how it was okay, how they were safe now that they were here, Aurora couldn’t help but mumble to herself at that: “As if that’s going to reassure them. You sent them down here to die.”

| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ | .:Name:. Aurora Melinda Blake .:Nick Name:. Rora, Ray, Mom .:Affiliation:. Arker .:Age:. 41 years old
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ | .:Physical Appearance:. Aurora is a dark haired beautiful woman. She isn’t overly tall, but she had womanly curves, which she never lost during her pregnancies which made using her body to protect her children possible. She has warm chocolate brown eyes, which could easily turn cold if someone threatened her of her kids. She never dressed to impress, not even for her lover. She dressed in what was available, for comfort rather than looks. Her clothing was repaired multiple times, carrying several reminders of her two babies. .:Height:. 5"10' .:Portrayed by:. Monique Ganderton
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ | .:Personality:. Aurora Blake could be a hard soldier. She was good at strategy, but a very fair woman. She tended to overlook minor crimes, with a wink of an eye and understanding in her heart. She was very nurturing, with a big heart. With that much love to give she poured it all into her two children, caring for them, risking it all for them. Not being allowed to have a second child never disagreed with her sense of justice as she viewed this as an injustice. Children needed siblings, friends. She struggled, though, with herself, especially when she was alone. With her children, she knew to turn her doubts into worry for her children instead, into love. She’s an intelligent woman, giving her children the best education despite not having enough resources to give them the highest education the Ark had to offer. She was resourceful and opportunistic. .:Special Skills:. Sewing and fixing, making new dresses and clothes out of scraps.
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ | .:Birthplace:. The Ark – Factory Station .:Family:. Bellamy Blake [son], Octavia Blake [daughter], Tracy Blake [grandmother] (deceased) .:Occupation:. Formerly Guard, Seamstress .:History:.
Once upon a time Tracy Blake was among the few survivors of a nuclear apocalypse by boarding one of the space stations. She was pregnant with her son at the time, Auroras father. He grew up to be a wonderful young man. He got married and they had a child, Aurora. Unfortunately not long after Aurora was born her mother fell victim to a sickness on the station, leaving only her grandmother and her father as family. As her father worked to feed his old mother and his daughter, Tracy helped raise Aurora. She grew up on dreams of earth, of wide field of golden flowers, mountains, of cows and animals, of noise other than the life support system and scents in the air, not this stale oxygen mixture to keep them alive. She was a dreamer as a young woman, always reading, always learning, always dreaming of returning to the Ground. She was good with weapons, it turned out. Aurora trained to become a guard. It was during that time when another sickness swept through the Ark, claiming the lives of her grandmother and father, leaving her all alone. It wasn’t until she fell in love that she felt the burning desire for a child. She had already started fixing clothing for others to earn a few more ration points, but as the plan formed, she really wanted to change her job. As marriage seemed to be a far off dream for her and her lover, Aurora took matters into her own hands. She approached a friend with the idea of applying for a permit together. He couldn’t have biological children, didn’t want any either, but he was eligible for a permit. He agreed, so on paper and on paper only he was her sons father, biologically she allowed her lover to father their son without losing the ability to have a child with a wife or future wife – she didn’t know if there was one. With her son Bellamy in her arms, Aurora, who learned working with needle and thread from her grandmother, worked as seamstress and no longer as guard. She loved her son with all her heart, gave him all the love she had while her lover gave them a few extra ration points to feed the two of them. Over time the visits got shorter and shorter as Bellamy grew like a weed, a normal, happy child. Aurora however struggled with how her life turned out, but for Bellamy she stayed strong.
When she found out about her second pregnancy, Aurora found even more joy. Her beloved son would have a sibling. She couldn’t give up on the child she already loved so she started to hide her pregnancy. She sent Bellamy out to get her friend more and more often. He brought them rations, with Aurora faking injuries and sicknesses. During routine checks, she hid her belly under fabric while sitting at the table until her daughter was born. It broke her heart how Bellamy had grown into the role of being a brother rather than a boy, but at the same time if filled her with so much joy to see her son take care of his baby sister. She hid Octavia under the floor during checks. The baby was a quiet usually, but as she grew older and older and less manageable with pacifiers, Aurora had to get creative. She found a way to make sure she knew about the surprise checks. She made sure she would keep both kids fed and loved, she educated both of them carefully in order to give them their best chance in life.
Not for a single day did she regret having her son Bellamy, nor having her daughter Octavia. She did what she had to do and she was proud of the two wonderful kids she had. The only regret she had was not being able to give them more. Hopefully, though, they wouldn’t be able to say they hadn’t experienced enough love.
