I won't let ANYTHING HAPPEN TO YOU That had been close. Too close! Bellamy and Octavia had just managed to evade the authorities and thus, avoid her getting caught without an ID. Bellamy had not anticipated the surprise check and the damn unexpected solar flares had caused the inspection. He had wanted Octavia to get out for a bit, to enjoy the Ark . . . and he hoped she did. But it wasn't worth her nearly getting caught. Never again he thought to himself. He just couldn't bare the thought of anything happening to her and their mom, knowing that he would be the one to entirely blame for it.
Once they got to the door of their apartment, he opened it it for, letting her go in first before he looked down the hal both ways and followed her, shutting the door behind him. They had nearly gotten caught by the guard but they hadn't . . . yet, they had been caught by someone else. For Aurora Blake was home, sooner than Bellamy had anticipated.
He just stared at his mother, knowing she would not be at all happy about it and was prepared to take all the responsibility . . . or well, blame for it. He supposed he should regret it . . . but he just couldn't forget the excitement that had been on Octavia's face. The way she danced among the crowd, the thrill she experienced being out of the confinement of her apartment. All of that was temproarily numbed, as he would now have to deal with getting busted by their mother. This wasn't good at all.

Solar Flares were usually no problem in the private quarters of people, but there were those exception when solar flares made problems. There were, of course privileged stations and places, which knew about them beforehand, giving Aurora enough time to make her way home, to make sure her two kids were safe during it. She came home to nothing. The small two person apartment was completely empty and with the lack of adjoining rooms, there was no way either of her kids were home. She didn’t even need to look under the floorboard, her teenage daughter would surely not be there as she hated the hideout, naturally. In truth Aurora couldn’t blame Octavia for wanting to break free, but it was just too dangerous. All of them could get killed and it might take a lot of persuasion to ensure Bellamys safety if that was ever the case.
To keep her hands and her mind busy, Aurora decided to fix a jacket. That would calm her down from all the horrible visions dancing through her mind. Her kids could be out there, hit by a solar flare. Or worse: Getting discovered. What the hell were they thinking? How the hell did Bellamy, her grown up son, allow this, assuming he was with her, which was likely true. At least he was with her. When the door opened – in time for the alarms of the solar flares – words failed her. They were together. At least they were save, but Aurora couldn’t help the disappointment in them. Every lecture she could have had for them, died on her tongue. Instead she reopened a sloppily fixed seam, not wanting to look at the two of them. blake Bellamy Blake

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
There is many things that Octavia Blake had learned from her family. Honor, loyalty, and how to stay hidden there the some of them; coming second only to love. None of them would save her from her mother's wrath right now. Expect maybe love. Which is why she used another thing her brother had taught her--the best defense was a good offense. With that in mind she ran toward her mother and hugged her from behind. "Guess what! I had the best night of my life! Bellamy took care of me! It's not his fault! It was mine! I wanted this more then anything!
"I saw the moon! It was just as you described it! So big and beautiful and I will dream of it for ever!" She was trying to soften her mother up, so Bell wouldn't get yelled at! This wasn't his fault! This was everything she had ever dreamed about! This was magic and wonderful! She would never regret this night! "He made me feel like that princess from the books! . . . Cinderella! It was the best night of my life, Mama!" With that O looked at her brother, "And I loved every moment of it!"

I won't let ANYTHING HAPPEN TO YOU Their mother didn't say a word . . . which was more unnerving, because it reflected just how angry she was at them. Bellamy would take the heat for this. There was no blame that he ever wanted lay down at his sister's feet. He had arranged this, he had put her at risk. But they had made it back. That was what counted. He silently watched as Octavie hurried to their mother, hugging her from behind. He couldn't help but smile when Octavia started going on about the evening. He felt his heart swell with pride and joy for her . . . that she enjoyed it so much. The excitement that radiated from her in her words, expression and overall demeanour . . . well, it made it so worth it.
He couldn't remember the last time he had seen her smile so much; the last time he had seen her so excited over something. To know that he had the ability to give that to her . . . made him feel honored. He continued to smile, looking at her as he started to approach both females in his life. "She needed this, mom. She deserves it." It wasn't Octavia's fault that she was an illegal second child. "What's the use of me being a Cadet if I can't do stuff like this for her. For us." He had every intention to also finding a way to cease the necessity of his mother sleeping with Grus. But this, was a good start to all that he could provide for his family. Besides, how could either of them deny the joy felt over seeing Octavia so happy.

Of course it didn't leave Aurora cold. Her daughter had so much fun. It was something she always wished for Octavia. It was something she could never really give her. And even this, this was too risky. It made her think again, think about what she had done, doomed both her children and herself. Maybe it would have been better if she had just let it happen, but she loved her daughter so much. Still, was the price really worth it? She wanted her children to be happy, but that was next to impossible. In all of this, one thing stood: They scared her! They had put her into an impossible situation, that was worse than fearing being floated. She didn't know where her kids were and that made her helpless. She was still mad and part of her wanted to act on it. The other part decided against it.
"Do you know what you put me through? I was worried!" And that was the harsh truth. "Both kids gone. But worse: I couldn't even go search for you! I can't go out and search for you, Octavia, because the Ark doesn't know you exist." And it wasn't supposed to know. It would be their deaths. "You could have at least said something." And she would have tried to stop them, but at least she would have known what to expect. "And Bellamy... you being a cadet... I thought you knew better than to go without a word."
