Husavik (My Hometown) Will Ferrell & Molly Sandén
youtube.com/watch?v=AvzotsxlJLI
All by myself
With this great big world before me
But it's all for someone else
I've tried and tried again
To let you know just where my heart is
To tell the truth and not pretend
All I needed was to get away
Just to realize that I was meant to stay
Where the mountains sing through the screams of seagulls
Where the whales can live 'cause they're gentle people
In my hometown, my hometown
Thought I made it clear, do I have to say it?
It was always there, we just didn't see it
All I need is you and me and my home
Vera með þér, með þér
Í Húsavík við Skjálfanda
Í heimabærinn minn
You want the world All the neon lights and billboards
To be seen and to be heard And I followed you But now I know what makes me happy
And I can tell you feel it too
Where the mountains sing through the screams of seagulls
Where the whales can live 'cause they're gentle people
In my hometown, my hometown
Where the northern lights burst out in colors
And the magic nights surpass all others
Það eina sem ég þrái er, að vera
Vera með þér, með þér Í Húsavík við Skjálfanda
My home, my hometown

Malia had been getting ready for bed, lighting candles around the room so she would have the comforting light of the small flickering flames as she went to bed. She was just getting into the bed when her door flung open, banging loudly against the wall. She stiffened in fear, balling up her fists as she spun around the face the door. She became less tense when she saw Josephine, but clearly something was wrong. She watched her approach, about to speak, but she suddenly felt her arms around her as Josie pulled her close. Surprised, she stood there for a moment without doing anything. She hesitantly wrapped her arms around her after a moment's consideration, accepting the embrace. The hug felt intimate, but she did not mind. She held her close, gently running a hand over Josie's hair.
"Are you alright?" she asked her softly after being silent for a while. "Is something wrong? You seem troubled." She sat down on the edge of the bed, still holding on to her, and had her sit down beside her.

Malia had absolutely no idea what was going on. She studied the light box--the...TV--with a frown. It was hard enough to wrap her head around the idea of the object itself. There were pictures moving on the screen, people's voices coming from it. As she watched the pictures move, she could not figure out what was going on. She did not know what she was watching. Was this something that had happened? The people on the TV did not seem very genuine. It was hard to believe that there were actually people like this once. She understood that this had taken place a long time ago. There was not anything here or back at home that looked like this, not anymore, anyways. Perhaps long ago the earth had looked like this. She realized she could barely name the objects and things around in the screen. Those were trees, sure. Those buildings looked odd, and what were those people wearing? It looked ridiculous. Surely those clothes could not be practical.
As she continued to watch, she realized she wanted to know what was happening and wanted to know what would happen next. She studied the people as they walked around the screen, interacting with each other, becoming less confused and more curious as the show went on. She smiled faintly as she heard their laughter. Whatever was going on, they seemed happy, and it made her feel like she wanted to be there, too laughing with them.
Malia was so focused on the TV that she did not hear Josephine walk up to the room. She did not notice her watching her from the doorway. So when she suddenly heard laughter that did not come from the TV, Malia jumped in surprise, quickly standing up as her hand went automatically to her side where her knife would have been, but she remembered that it had been a while since she had had a knife actually there. She relaxed when she saw that it was Josephine, not someone trying to kill her, even though she doubted someone trying to kill her would have laughed. She sat back down on the couch. It was comfortable, and she liked it.
Her brows furrowed as she tried to understand what she had meant. Had it looked like she had been enjoying it? She certainly had been captivated by it, and that seemed embarrassing, and she found herself blushing slightly as she watched Josie's expression. She straightened herself up and fought back the blush. She did not want to be embarrassed, or at least show that she was, though she knew it was too late already.
"Do you ever knock?" Malia demanded as she studied her. "I would suggest knocking next time. You startled me." She decided to get up, brushing herself off even though there was no reason to. She was embarrassed and feeling awkward and she did not know what to do with these feelings. She disliked them and hoped that she would not go through them again. Tagged: Josephine Lightbourne

Feeling Josie's hands combing through her hair felt comforting. It felt like such an odd thing to think, but she was relaxed around this woman who had been a stranger not too long ago. Malia had never gotten close to anyone so quickly, and it felt too good to be true. Josie was sweet yet strong, and Malia respected her, especially because she was one of the leaders of the new land they were in. It was nice to have her as a friend, and she had not expected to find a friend here, but a part of her was worried that it would not last, that Josephine would turn out to be a bad person.
Malia closed her eyes as she enjoyed the gentle motions of Josie's hands playing with her hair. She still missed her home, back in Trishana, but as long as she had Josie here with her, things would not be too bad. And as long as she did not need to go back onto the ship they had came on. That ship hit both of her fears: confinement and darkness. It also made her afraid of running out of air. She had struggled to keep from panicking, especially when they had put her into cryptosleep. She was more than relieved to be back on land. She was not too sure about the strangeness this world had, and about the people living in it, but for the time being, she trusted them enough to stay with them, and she trusted Josie enough to be in this vulnerable position with her. She trusted her enough to be relaxed, even though she could easily hurt her if Josie wanted to.
She opened her eyes as she heard her spoke and blushed at the kiss, surprised as she always was when someone gave her any kind of affection. She found herself melt as she felt her warm lips against her skin and felt her whisper sweet words. Though a moment later she felt less peaceful and more worried as her mind warned her not to get to comfortable around Josephine. She hesitated as she considered what she had said. Falling asleep here with her did sound nice. She was comfortable and felt sleepy as Josie played with her hair. But she was not certain that she trusted the woman enough to be asleep around her. Laying down and letting her near her head was one thing. Falling asleep...
She studied Josie's expression as her own changed slightly from peaceful to guarded. She seemed genuine. She wanted to trust Josie, but the warrior in her did not want her to. She was at war with herself.
She sighed and shifted her position on the couch and closed her eyes again with a slight nod. She would try to rest. She did not want this peaceful moment to end. She was worried that she would offend Josephine if she told her that she did not trust her enough to go to sleep around her. She did not want to loose her friendship. It was important to her. She told herself that she was being paranoid about the woman hurting her and settled into her lap, breathing in her sweet perfumery scent that lingered on her clothes.
"Do not turn the lights off," Malia murmured quietly to her. Partial darkness was fine, but pitch black scared her. How could she tell what was in the darkness if she could not see a thing? It was embarrassing, but she did not want to risk Josie turning the lights off when Malia was resting. The idea of being in complete darkness interrupted her thoughts of resting.

Malia glanced over at him as he spoke, thinking through his words. She was not sure what they should do about this. Having a baby was one thing. She had not expected to ever have one. Being pregnant put her in a vulnerable position, one she should not ever be in. She knew there was no shortage of people in her clan who thought she was unsuitable to lead. This would give them a change to harm her. She had already doubled the amount of warriors that guarded her, ones she knew she could trust with her life. But would they still be loyal to her when they found out who the father of her child was? She doubted it. None of the clans seemed to want Skaikru around, and she knew her people did not either. They only tolerated Bellamy coming around because she made them tolerate it. And as far as her people knew, her and Bellamy were just allies. If they knew what they had done.... She was certain it would cause trouble for her.
She looked down at the ground, trying to find an answer to give the man beside her. 'I do not know' was not a good enough one. She should know what to do. She considered letting Bellamy out of her life. She was certain that he did not want any part in this. Why would he want to be around with her and their child? He was probably desperate to get rid of this responsibility. He had his own people to worry about, and she had hers.
She swallowed nervously. She could just imagine how angry her people would be when they found out. Even Mikah, her best friend, would not be happy about this. He would not help her, especially not to pretend to be the father so no one would figure out it was a Sky person who had had a child with her. But her people were not stupid. They would guess that it was Bellamy's. With him coming around to visit her, sometimes during the evening, and then suddenly she was carrying a baby, they would figure it out. It would not be long until all of them despised her. She could just imagine the kind of attention this would give her, from all of the clans. Any affairs with Skaikru was everyone's business, because it affected everyone. She felt sick as she imagine Heda banishing her from her clan for such a mistake. Her arms tighten around her stomach as her face grew pale. What if Bellamy took the child once it was born? Once the baby was gone, hopefully things could return to normal. She was not sure if she could go through parting from her child, but if it protected all of them...That would force Bellamy to take care of it. She felt bad for that, since he most likely did not want to. She was not going to force him to care for it. It would not be fair. This was more her burden than his. She looked over at him, thinking it over. He was a sweet man. She knew she could trust him. His people, she was not so sure about, not with her baby. But if this was the better option...
"How will your people react to this when they find out?" Malia asked him quietly. If there was a risk of his people attempting to harm her child, then she wouldn't risk having the baby live in Skaikru's home.

Malia smirked faintly as she watched Leiana. "What were you reading?" she asked her, figuring out that she was embarrassed about the book. "Can I see?" she asked her, going around her and reaching for the book teasingly. She found it amusing how flustered the sky girl seemed. What could possibly be in the book that she was embarrassed about? She was not sure if Leiana knew she could not read, and hoped she did not, hoping that the sky girl would get more flustered if she tried to get a glimpse at the book.

Malia listened to the girl's quiet words in Gonasleng, but didn't say anything to her in response to it. Why did she think that the man she had been with, Penn, she had said, was gone? Gone as in dead, or gone as in he had left? Could he be in Trishana territory or by the border?
"Octavia," Malia repeated, trying out the name. "You are of Trikru, yes?" She watched her closely. "I am Malia. Who are 'they'? The ones that attacked you. Do you know if they came from a particular Clan or if they were outcasts?"
Malia watched her drink the water approvingly. "My warriors found you alone. You are in Mia Te Mak, our capital village. My people would not have attacked you unless you clearly posed a threat to our Clan. But you are of Trikru, our allies. They would not have attacked you. It could not have been them."
