Kyle was taking this well, surprisingly well. Raven didn’t know what she’d expected but it definitely wasn’t this. She’d been so afraid he’d be disappointed or angry she hadn’t even really entertained the thought that he could actually be happy with the news. "Don't worry, Rayes, we don't expect anything from you either. The baby and I can do this on our own." Raven half chuckled at his joke. She deserved that. Maybe she hadn’t given Wick enough credit. But being pregnant was the most vulnerable she’d ever been, and it wasn’t something she could take lightly. She needed him to be serious about this.
As she listened to him talk, her eyebrows rose in surprise. His sincerity touched her. Raven knew she wasn’t the easiest person to deal with. After everything that had happened she was still finding it difficult to be with Kyle completely. Emotionally that is, she had no issues with being with him physically. And what Kyle was offering was incredibly tempting. It almost made her forget all the things that could go wrong and all the complications that would surely be in their path. But needing someone else meant letting her guard down and Raven wasn’t sure if she was ready for that yet.
This wasn’t just anyone though, this was Wick. Wick who she’d known for years, Wick who always got on her nerves, and Wick who wouldn’t leave her in the face of almost certain death and carried her back to camp from the hell hole of Mount Weather. If she was going to take the risk with anyone, it would be with Wick. “Do you mean that?” She had to be sure, her face no longer stoic, but lined with determination and hope. “Because if we’re going to do this you have to be in it for the long haul,” she added. “You can’t let me down Wick,” she said with conviction. “You can’t let us down.” Her hand rested on her abdomen. This was it, her defences were down, and it was his last chance to back out. Raven was giving him the power to make or break her.

"You don't expect anything from me, or you don't want anything from me?" Now that was the question of the hour, huh. She didn’t know how she felt about his response, was he happy with the news then? Or did he want nothing to do with her or the baby? Raven felt the room tense as he spoke, as if she was at a crossroads. She could say no, she didn’t want his help. Having been through hell and back, she could probably do this alone. But did she want to? The obvious answer was no, of course not. Raven knew what it was like to have no parents to care or love her. That’s not what she wanted for her baby. Sure she’d be there and love the child more than anyone or anything else. But she had to give it its best shot and that meant having Bellamy around. She wasn’t going to be the reason this kid didn’t have a dad before it even takes its first breath.
He was a good man, and after seeing how he’d protected not only his sister but their entire camp, she had no doubt in her mind that he could be a great dad. She let the thought sink in. Everything was happening so fast. A couple days ago all she thought about was the nightmare of Mount Weather and now all of sudden all she could think about was this kid. Raven felt a fierce need to protect it even though she’d only just become fully aware of its existence. And right now that meant getting over her stubborn nature. “Look in an ideal world, yes, I want you to be a part of this,” she began tentatively, knowing full well that the world they lived in was anything but ideal. “But if you’re not in this 100 per cent then you can walk away and pretend this never happened.” Because that’s what she needed from him, either he was going to be a part of this kid’s life for good, or he wasn’t going to be a part of it at all. “You’re choice.” Raven wasn’t going to force him, and she damn well wasn’t going to beg.

"Nope! I was just thinking about finding a pretty girl who needed what only I could give them!" Raven rolled her eyes at his response. “I guess I saved the poor girl then,” she retorted. "Why did you ruin one of my designs?" She stared up at him, not amused in the slightest and only offering him a cynical half-smile. Raven was beginning to get slightly irritated and they hadn’t even started yet. Maybe gaining the respect of her peers and becoming the biggest bad ass the ark has ever seen, wasn’t worth it. Not if she had to suffer Wick and his “jokes” for an entire job. Who knew how long it would take?
She sighed. Raven had known Wick for a while, long enough to know he was one of the best engineers here, and long enough to know he could be a real pain in the ass. She’d managed to pretty much avoid him for most of that time, but now her time was up. She needed him, and there was no one else she could trust with a job like this. “Look, are you going to help me out or not?” She asked, well more like demanded. “Because if not I can go elsewhere.” She was bluffing of course, but she couldn’t have Wick knowing how much she needed his skills….work skills of course, she wouldn’t be in need of any other skills he may or may not have. Regaining her train of thought and getting it away from any sort of gutter, Raven shuffled in her place nervously. She hated asking for help, it made her feel like she was in his debt or something, like she owed him. And Raven dreaded to think of what he could ask of her in return.

"Are you . . . . Raven, are you telling me that I am going to be a father?" She understood his confusion. Wick wasn't the only person she'd been with since she'd been on the ground. There was Finn, and Bellamy of course. But she'd done the math and so it was definitely Wick's. What surprised and scared her was that was the part that she'd actually been glad about. She wanted it to be Wick's. Raven swallowed. Could she be falling for him? Oh she was so screwed.
Pausing for a second Raven had a brief thought. She could avoid all this and lie to him, saying it was Finn's. Then she wouldn't force him to feel any obligation to her. Her real reasoning was much more selfish than that of course. If they went through with this then there would always be the risk of her getting hurt. What if he suddenly woke up one day and didn't want her anymore? It wouldn't be the first time. Kyle was a good man, he would stay for the sake of the baby.
No. She couldn't do that to him. Secrets and lies had messed with her life enough already. Raven needed to be straight with him. She almost thought he sounded hopeful when asking if he was the father, instead of dreading the answer. Could he actually be happy with this news? Her face remained stoic. Raven wasn't going to get her hopes up. "Yes, Wick," she answered tentatively. "You're the father." She felt her stomach tighten in anticipation of his reaction. Her hand rested there as if the baby was afraid of his answer too. She almost smiled at the thought. These baby hormones must be really doing a number on her, she thought quickly.

“You ok?” She tried to smile but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Yes,” she answered, a little too quickly. Not quite sure if it was a lie or not but wanting to reassure him. Raven felt tense and a little panicked. She had no idea how he was going to react and she hated not knowing. What if he backed out? Raven wasn’t sure if she could do this alone. She needed him and that terrified her.
Taking a deep breath she finally mustered up enough courage to speak. “Look, this might not be easy to hear,” she began, because it certainly wasn’t easy for her to hear. Bringing a child into this godforsaken world was the last thing she’d wanted to do, but there was plenty of time to think about those consequences later.
“I’m pregnant,” she continued, her heart beating fast and hard. Raven almost felt compelled to run away and hide but she stood her ground. “I don’t expect anything, I just thought you should know,” She quickly added. Raven had learned to keep people at arm’s length and while Wick was slowly trying to break down those walls this was different. Raven was having a baby, and she wasn’t about to force Wick to do this with her if he didn’t want to. No matter how much she wanted him to.

Raven had almost completely recovered after the ordeal in Mount Weather. Physically at least. She shivered as she sat on the edge of a bed, thinking about what happened again. It was her last checkup in medical and she felt restless in the room. But Abby had insisted on doing one last blood test just to be sure her platelets and blood cells were at their normal levels again, so she obliged. She couldn't say no to Abby; she was one of the only other people who understood her pain and the fear that was still deep in her bones.
Raven liked to think it was impossible to surprise her now, especially after being on the ground this long. This damn planet had thrown everything it could at her and then some. So when Abby tentatively informed that her blood test actually showed that she was pregnant, Raven was unprepared. She asked Abby to do another one, just to be sure, because this couldn't be happening. But it was still positive, she was pregnant, and apparently she wasn't very far along at all. So the baby was definitely Wick's. She would've asked Abby to do a third test, but there were other patients who needed her. Taking a moment or several to panic, Raven made her way to engineering. She needed to tell him now before she talked herself out of it.
As soon as she entered the room she saw his face and smiled. "Watch this!" Raven watched as his chair fell apart and laughed, a real full body laugh. It felt almost strange. Wick's traits that she used to always find irritating were becoming endearing. Must be these damn hormones, she thought quickly. "We can fetch Bellamy later."
"Kyle, I need to talk to you about something." She used his first name to grab his attention. "It's serious." She needed his undivided attention if she was going to get through this.

Raven was only in the first month of being a Zero-G mechanic but she was loving it. Sure she got all the manual labour jobs, being the youngest one there but she didn’t mind. She enjoyed every second of it, the weightlessness; the freedom. She felt a familiar twinge of guilt every time she felt happy about her job. Finn always told her that he was fine and that she should enjoy herself whenever she visited. But sometimes that was difficult, especially when he was locked up because of her. Raven sighed, she couldn’t go down this train of thought every time she went out for a job.
The other mechanics always talked about a set of thrusters just outside Mecha station that had been faulty for years. Bets have been made and lost over the years and still no one’s been able to fix them. But Raven was going to. Being the only girl, she felt determined to gain their respect and be treated as an equal and this was the way to do it. The others mocked her but she didn’t care. They’d be eating their words soon enough. Hell, she'd force them down their throats if she had to. After going on her last inspection of the thrusters she made mental notes of all the issues before getting back inside the ark. It was definitely out of her league. The thrusters were completely toast. They’d only be useful as spare parts, meaning new ones needed to be designed and built. And that meant engineering, which meant…Wick.
She wasn’t one to ask for help and under any other circumstances she’d just accept defeat and move on. But Raven was desperate, so with a sigh she made her way towards engineering. As much as she’d hate to admit it, he was the best engineer there. Even if he did irritate her. Raven spotted him with his back turned standing over a table. “Wick,” she called as she approached him. “You busy?” She reluctantly asked, ready to roll her eyes at his response. This was going to be a long job.

She followed him to his tent. It was as good a place as any. Entering first, she kept her eyes on the exit just in case she needed to make a quick retreat. "What's going on?" Raven decided early on that she wasn't going to keep this from Bellamy. He had a right to know being the one to knock her up and all. She hated secrets, being hurt by them enough in the past. Raven pushed thoughts of Wick and her hypocrisy out of her mind. One massive confrontation at a time.
She tried to keep herself composed as she turned to Bellamy. Her heart was beating so hard she was almost sure he could hear it. Raven didn't think it would be this terrifying. Realising she actually cared about what Bellamy was going to say; how he was going to react...it was making her panic. Her eyes kept darting towards the exit while she continuously rubbed her hands together nervously. She could still pretend there was nothing wrong and just leave. Maybe even lie later on and say it was Finn's. But she'd done the math, it was definitely Bellamy's and eventually he'd figure that out too. Before she could chicken out she finally looked at him, her uneven breathing giving away her panicked state.
"Look, I'm going to cut right to the chase." It was best to get it over and done with as quickly as possible; like ripping off a band aid. "I'm pregnant and it's yours," she stated firmly; or as firmly as she could. "I don't expect anything from you okay? I just thought you had a right to know." Raven was preemptively letting him off the hook. She wasn't going to ask for his help or guilt him into feeling an obligation to her or the baby. He didn't ask for this, well neither of them did. But she was giving him an out, while not even sure if she wanted him to take it or not.

Raven could feel the tension in the room. Neither of them were particularly happy to see the other. There was too much hurt there, too many things being left unsaid. It was making her feel uneasy and uncomfortable. Her eyes kept darting towards her brace. She needed to leave. If she could just get to her damn brace. Raven supposed she could probably limp towards it, but she was too weak. And she’d probably end up falling. That was the last thing she needed, especially with Clarke in the room. It would probably end up tearing some of her stitches. And besides she didn’t want to appear weak in front of her. That’s why she refused to ask for her help. It was stupid but she was stubborn. So she stayed seated.
Raven physically winced when she heard Clarke mention TonDC. The pain of the cuts they’d unfairly inflicted on her was still fresh. Those barbarians were going to torture Finn. They were the reason he was dead. Her thoughts flashed to an image of Lexa, their commander. She felt the familiar rise of anger, but tried to control it. This was all for their friends in Mount Weather after all, it was worth it. It had to be worth it. “We never know, better safe than sorry.” Clarke; always a forward thinker. She didn’t even look sad, it was like nothing had happened. Like they hadn’t just burned Finn’s body. “You’re going now?” Raven asked. “Don’t you think you should stop for a second?” Didn’t this girl grieve? “We only just got back from Finn’s funeral.” Raven added, her voice cracking slightly on the last word. His funeral. It was still hard to believe. But Clarke was already thinking of their next move and it was infuriating.

Raven had been suspicious for a while but she’d pushed the thought to the back of her mind because there were bigger, more important things to worry about, like winning a war and saving their friends. But now they were home and nothing was currently trying to kill them so she couldn’t avoid it any longer. Raven was way past late. She’d held on to the hope that maybe extreme stress had caused her to just skip a month but she knew her body and how it responded to things like stress, and this had never happened before. But she needed to be sure. So she waited until Abby was alone in medical and had her do a blood test.
It was positive. She was definitely pregnant. She left medical before Abby could say a word only asking her not to tell anyone. She wouldn’t of course and Raven knew that. She trusted Abby. Finding a space alone in camp hidden away, Raven sat down. She wouldn’t dare going to her tent or engineering or anywhere Wick could find her. She was going to avoid him and that conversation like the plague; or at least for as long as she could. Raven just let herself cry. She wasn’t ready for this. Now was not a time to bring a baby into this ruthless world where they were always on the brink of war and surrounded by death.
Raven’s hand slowly stroked the scar on her abdomen left from when the grounders tortured her after falsely accusing her of trying to poison their commander. She thought back to the gunshot wound she’d suffered by Murphy’s hand and more recently to the bone marrow extraction. Her whole body shivered when she thought of it; of the excruciating pain she'd endured. The whole time this baby had been inside her fighting to survive just like the rest of them. She almost smiled at the thought. Getting up she knew there was one thing she had to do; tell the father.
She found Bellamy with Miller and approached them. “Could you give us a minute?” She asked, and Miller obliged leaving them alone. Consciously trying to keep every breath steady Raven turned to Bellamy. “I need to talk to you,” she said, her tone conveying the seriousness of the topic they were about to discuss. “Could we go somewhere private?”

Raven rolled her eyes at his sarcastic question. She obviously wasn’t nearly qualified enough to lead any kind of training session. But who said Bellamy was either? Although she had to admit, he really knew how to talk. Bellamy kept surprising her. She still held deep resentment for him but she couldn’t help but acknowledge what he was building. Bellamy was a natural born leader, which was the last thing she expected from a janitor on the ark. That didn’t excuse his actions though.
"If not, then shut up about it." Raven turned in her seat. “Excuse me,” she began, getting ready for a fight before Bellamy continued. She didn’t interrupt him because she couldn’t disagree. She did hate him, for now at least. Looking at him made her angry because it reminded her of her own failure. Anyway, being angry at him felt better than being angry at Finn. At least she could take out her anger on Bellamy without feeling conflicted at all.
But he was still right of course. They wouldn’t survive unless they could all work with each other, but she sure as hell wasn’t going to tell him that. “And then what?” She asked him. “You think Jaha’s just going to let you go.” When the rest of their people arrive things were going to change around here. If they lived that long, she thought wryly. “You might’ve been unsuccessful, but you still tried to kill him.” And her, if she remembered correctly; and Raven wasn’t planning on forgetting anytime soon.

Raven laid down on the bed in medical but she couldn’t rest. She hated medical. It reminded her of the pain she’d endured to remove the bullet from her back. Finn had been there though, by her side. He was always there when she needed him. Her cuts had been cleaned and bandaged and she’d been strictly put on bed-rest by Abby. But how could she sleep when every time she closed her eyes she saw Finn’s lifeless body. She felt so angry at herself, Clarke and even Finn. Especially Finn. He’d been the only family she'd ever had and now he’d left her. She was alone. Raven tried to stop replaying the events in her mind but it was all she could think about. He’d always had her back and the one time he needed her she couldn’t save him. No, Clarke couldn’t save him. She’d begun to realise the alternative would’ve been worse but she needed someone to blame for now and Clarke seemed like a pretty safe bet.
What Raven really needed was a distraction. A guard Abby had stationed at the door was making it difficult for her to plan any kind of escape. She couldn’t stay here though. Not alone with her thoughts, it would drive her insane. She needed to get back to the radio. Their friends were still in Mount Weather and the radio was the only way they could ever make contact or get any kind of information about what was going on in there. At least this way she could work on saving people.
Raven sat up on the bed, trying to think of some kind of distraction to lure the guard away when she heard footsteps. Clarke easily walked past the guard and approached her inside. She was last person Raven wanted to see. Feeling the slight rise of a now too familiar feeling of anger, Raven sat up, hissing in pain. “What are you doing here Clarke?” She asked. “Need an ice pack for your face?” Raven added, referencing the blow to the face she’d inflicted on her. She tried to stand before grunting and sitting back down. She needed her brace but it was on the other side of the room. Damn Abby.

Raven tried to keep herself busy using Wick’s help to find another way of contacting any other ark survivors. But her heart wasn’t in it and she was finding Wick even more irritating that usual. Her mind was consumed by thoughts of Finn and the others, and her worry for them was preventing her from being useful in any way.
She heard the commotion outside knowing it meant the others were back with Finn. Raven went outside only seeing Bellamy and Octavia. Her heart sank. Something was wrong. She could feel it. The entire atmosphere was tense and everyone had a look of silent anger and sadness on their faces. Raven was missing something and she hated it. Every awful thought that Raven had while she waited for them to return flashed in her mind.
She couldn’t see Finn anywhere. What if they’d captured him, or worse? Not wanting to remain in the dark any longer she made a beeline for the pair, panic in each of her steps. "He's alive," Raven finally let out a breath she didn’t know she’d been holding. “Where is he? I don’t see him.” She said, looking around them. “What’s going on?” Raven asked, noticing the somber looks on both their faces too. Something happened out there; something bad and she felt almost reluctant to find out what.

Raven sighed in relief after Bellamy revealed there were more guns. That meant more ammo, which meant they would level the playing field. They weren’t sitting ducks anymore. The thought gave Raven hope. The grounders only understood violence, so that’s what they were going to get. If they wanted to survive they had to be willing to do so at all costs and she knew that.
“They were packed in grease.” Smart thinking, though it would be no use to whoever had the idea. “How many do you think you can salvage from one?" She continued examining each bullet. The gun powder in one seemed to be intact. It hadn’t degenerated yet. Setting it aside she looked up at Bellamy. “Maybe half a round from each gun,” she answered. “If we’re lucky,” which they rarely were these days. After that she was going to have to think of something else fast. Raven emptied out the rest of the bullets Bellamy gave her and handed him the live bullet she found. “I can prepare a few live rounds from the guns here for your little training exercise tomorrow but that’s all you’re getting.” They barely had enough bullets for the grounders let alone bullets to spare training the other delinquents. “After that, each bullet goes into a grounder.”
“So how are you going to train them anyway?” She asked, not turning from her inspection of the remaining gun powder. “Aren’t you a lousy shot?” Raven said taking a dig a Bellamy by referencing his attempt on the chancellor’s life again. She wasn’t a big fan of the chancellor either but she felt bitter about Bellamy and couldn’t resist asking the question, especially since everyone from the ark would be back soon. That included the chancellor who Raven hadn’t known to ever be lenient.
