Raven gratefully took the brace from her but her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as Clarke knelt down before her. She didn’t understand what was happening. Was Clarke about to beg her? For what? Forgiveness maybe? It made her uncomfortable because Raven knew she couldn’t be that person for Clarke. The person to grant her some kind of forgiveness to make it okay. It wasn’t okay. She listened to her talk, as Clarke finally acknowledged the elephant in the room. So it wasn’t forgiveness she was seeking. She was just explaining her actions. Raven looked away with tears stinging her eyes as Clarke explained in gruesome detail what they would’ve done to Finn. She knew this already and didn’t need to be reminded as tried to hold back tears, but couldn’t as a few escaped down her cheeks.
“It had to … make it quick and painless. It was the only thing I could do.” Raven put the brace down beside her and rested her face in her hands for a few moments, wiping away her tears. “I know, okay? I know. I just…” She looked away again not wanting to cry in front of her. “There had to be another way, right?” Raven knew full well there was no other way. But that was difficult to accept. “I mean the world can’t be this cruel, can it?” The question was rhetorical. Of course the world was cruel, she knew that all too well. Clearing her throat, she looked back at Clarke. “I know that you did what you had to do, but he was all I had.” Her voice cracked on the last word. Finn was the only family she’d ever known. “I’ll never forgive you,” Raven began, being honest with Clarke. It wasn’t to be malicious, but now was not the time for lies. “But I can at least…appreciate, what you did for him.” It was difficult for her to admit. Hesitantly, Raven placed her hand on Clarke’s shoulder. It couldn’t have been easy for Clarke, they had both loved him after all. They shared that. It was that thought that Raven held on to, as she sat here with her now.

"This kid is gonna be tough as hell," Raven smiled at the thought of him or her. They were slowly becoming more and more real. It was both terrifying and exciting, but she found that she really liked talking about them. “Any child of mine’s going to be a damn genius,” she teased. Raven was feeling more at ease, she’d gotten past the hard part of telling him. She hadn’t been sure if she would make it through that. Now they’d just have to get past the hard part of actually having and raising this kid. Yeah, should be fine, she thought sarcastically.
"How soon do you want to tell people?" Her thoughts automatically went to Wick. They hadn’t really talked much since Mount Weather. After she’d recovered from the extraction, Raven’d had a very short and difficult conversation with him which basically entailed her telling him that she cared about him but she wasn’t ready for any kind of relationship, and that he deserved someone better who could give him what he wanted. They’d barely spoken since, only exchanging words over work. And now she was having a baby with Bellamy Blake. That was sure to go over well. “Soon,” she answered. But she needed to tell Kyle first, he deserved at least that. “I mean they’ll figure it out by themselves eventually.” She would start showing of course, and that wouldn’t be easy to hide for very long. “I just need to tell someone first.” She obviously meant Wick, and had a feeling Bellamy probably knew that too.

“Love is weakness. There is no time to grieve.” Raven’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. That didn’t sound like the Clarke she knew. “Love is weakness? That’s bullshit.” Love wasn’t weakness. It was the only thing that was keeping her going. Her love for Finn was the only reason she even bothered to wake up. Sure it hurt like hell, but the knowledge that he loved her, even if it hadn’t been in the way she wanted, gave her the strength to carry on. The old Clarke knew that. A piece of them had died and they had to deal with it. It just so happened that Clarke’s way of dealing with it was just not dealing with it at all.
“No. You can’t come with me, Raven.” Well that was quick. Raven listened to her ask her to stay and help with Bellamy. He was going to be their inside man and she needed to figure out how they were going to contact each other and then of course how they were going to disable the fog. Her mind was already whirring with thoughts on how she was supposed to manage that. She wasn’t going to force herself on Clarke, but she couldn’t help but be a little afraid about what this new Clarke was going to do. “Whatever you need me to do,” Raven sighed. “And I need someone here to kick Kanes and my mothers asses into gear.” Her joke was hollow, just like the rest of her, but Raven forced a smile as well. “You can count on me.” Sitting back down, Raven grunted slightly at the pain and paused for a moment as she swallowed her pride. “Could you….could you hand me my brace?” She asked pointing towards it leaning on the wall behind Clarke.

"And now I have to live with it." His response was more personal than she’d expected it to be. Raven wasn’t sure what she’d expected, maybe she’d get a rise out of him, or he’d leave, but not that. Maybe the whole thing had affected him more than he’d let on. She had to live with it too and she supposed since Bellamy had actively taken out the radio maybe it was worse for him. Good, she thought bitterly, not totally sure if she meant it or not. Raven was feeling the beginnings of sympathy for him, but quickly stuffed it down. She didn’t understand where his faith was coming from. The chancellor never forgave anyone. Hell, he even sent his son down here to die. Bellamy didn’t stand a chance. Perhaps it wasn’t faith, maybe it was desperation. Raven was familiar with that feeling.
“Tell me you wouldn't do anything to protect the one you love, even if it involves potentially taking a life." Her thoughts immediately went to Finn, and she looked down. He was her family, even after everything that had happened. She’d die for him, so it wasn’t too far-fetched a thought that she’d probably kill for him too. Raven may be stubborn but she knew he had a point. Sighing in defeat she took a step back, only just realising how close she’d gotten to him in her anger. She took a moment to calm herself down.
Bellamy’s sincerity caught her off guard and forced her to stop thinking of him as some selfish arrogant prick, as much as she wanted to. His fierce love for and protectiveness over his sister was something she couldn’t help but relate to. “None of us should have to make those kinds of decisions,” she said, finally showing a hint of sympathy rather than red hot rage. Sitting back down, she held a handful of bullets. “We shouldn’t have to be dealing with any of this.” They were kids pretending to be soldiers, preparing for war. Smacking her open fist with the bullets on the desk, Raven rubbed her eyes. She was so tired of all of this. “The ground actually kinda sucks.”

“Wick!” Raven exclaimed as he grabbed her from behind. She had to fight her instinct to roundhouse kick him in the face. She was going to need that head of his if this was going to work. “What are you…?” She watched him write ‘ENGINEERS ONLY’ on the board and rolled her eyes. Really? This was how they were going to play this. Holding her hands on her hips, Raven reluctantly listened as he explained how it was his space. “God, boys and their toys.” She held her hands up in surrender. Wick was going to need the old plans eventually, so she would concede defeat now. It was worth it for the satisfaction she would get when he’d inevitably ask her for them.
"If you want to write on this, become an engineer . . . . . or at least find your own marker." Raven took a step towards him. “HA! I’d rather float myself,” she teased. Besides, mechanics had all the real fun, and did all the real down and dirty work. Taking a step back, she folded her arms and nodded her head towards the board. “But fine if you’re going to be childish, show me what you got.” It was obviously a challenge and one she was sure Wick would take up. She hated to admit it, even to herself, but Raven was kind of starting to enjoy herself. Just a little bit. But the smirk on her face gave that away. “Let me know when you need me to step in,” she added walking up behind him and mockingly patting his shoulder.

"No." It was apparent by his tone of voice that he did know about them. Raven wasn’t sure if that was a good thing yet. "Rayes, do you know how long they have not worked for?" He answered his own question before she could respond. But that’s why she was here; why she’d come straight to Kyle in the first place. He was the best engineer here, and the only one who could pull this off. Or rather help her pull this off. “Which is why we have to fix them.” This was about more than just the thrusters, this was about proving her worth not just to everyone else, but herself too.
Raven stood impatiently leaning against his bench with her arms crossed as he rambled on about how impossible fixing the thrusters was going to be. She didn’t need him telling her that too. She’d heard enough of that from the other mechanics who’d scoffed at the idea of anyone, let alone some rookie having a go at it. "Which is actually not a bad idea." That’s it. Just what she’d come here for. “There’s the Wick I know and…tolerate.” She said with a smirk. Raven followed Wick to his board, rubbing her hands together in excitement.
“Of course I looked at it,” Raven said approaching him. "Can you get them off?" Turning towards him, she scoffed. “Umm have you met me?” She asked rhetorically. “Consider it done.” Grabbing the marker out of his hand, Raven turned to the board. “Move over, Wick,” she said pushing him out of the way. “Let me show you how the pros do it.” Teasing apparent in her tone and on her face, as she glanced up at him. Raven then proceeded to start drawing the old plans for the old thrusters on the board so they had somewhere to start from. She’d basically memorised them after attempting to do this by herself so many times, before eventually accepting the need for help.

Grinning, she gripped his arms as he spun her and kept a hold on him as he spoke. "Wait . . . is this a baby engineer, or mechanic. Cause I dunno if I can handle two of you." She stared at him with a wry smile on her face and rolled her eyes. “Very funny, Wick,” she said sarcastically. The more he spoke, the realer everything was becoming, and it both scared and thrilled her. Her smile turned sincere when she realised he probably wanted a girl. “No matter what she’ll be beautiful.” As long as she was happy and healthy, that’s all Raven could hope for right now. “Or he,” she quickly added, knowing that was a definite possibility. “And tough as nails.” Wick was a genius, though she’d never admit it, and let’s face it she was freaking awesome. Their baby was all set.
Raven let out a short disbelieving laugh before wrapping her arms around Kyle and hugging him hard, her face resting on his chest. She wasn’t always great with showing her emotions but in that moment things didn’t seem so scary. Because he was doing this with her and she felt compelled to show that appreciation. She kept holding on as he spoke, with confusion lining her features, unsure why he was further confirming his earlier words.
"How together are we doing this?" Raven finally let go and looked up at him, taking a short step back. Now that was a hell of a question. She came to him unsure of whether he’s even want anything to do with her or the kid, and now he was offering her everything. The whole deal. A family, which was something she’d never really experienced before. But was it really time for this conversation? She’d been putting it off for a long time and for good reason. She was terrified. But she’d had a lot of time to think about this, and now was as good a time as any to take that step. After a long pause she took a shaky breath, obviously nervous. “I’m in…if you’re in.” Knowing he’d know what she meant. She was sure of at least one thing and that was that she didn’t want this with anyone but Kyle. Raven waited with bated breath for his response.

"It wasn't my idea," Raven listened to his explanation but she wasn’t having any of it. “Did what you had to do?” Raven stood and turned to him. “Like you did what you had to do when you took my radio.” She knew that was a low blow the moment she said it, but Raven stood her ground. She was in a bad mood and if that meant taking her anger out on Bellamy then she had no problems with that. He wasn’t exactly her favourite person in the world, and she was feeling especially bitter. Just because they were working together didn’t mean she had to be nice. Besides, he could take it. And if he couldn’t…well that was his problem.
"Jaha's life is still in danger. And that, is what we're gonna warn him about." That meant Bellamy had a chance of a getting a pardon. Raven wasn’t yet sure how she felt about that. “What a miraculous change of heart,” Raven stated disregarding his earlier statement of it not being his idea. She held no love for the man but she was at least sure she didn’t want to see him dead. That didn’t mean she didn’t want him to suffer at least. He was a constant reminder of her failure so maybe that was her job. Raven knew that was probably bullshit, and maybe she was being childish, but that didn’t matter right now. “Good luck with that Bellamy. The Chancellor is known to be forgiving of course,” she added with obvious sarcasm in her tone.

Finn’s funeral and the pain it was causing her was written all over Raven’s face. She felt vulnerable, scared and most of all angry, and she made sure everyone around her damn well knew it. Sure, maybe the punch was a bit much, but she was angry and grieving so she wasn’t going to apologise for it any time soon. Raven watched Clarke drop the things she was carrying and turn to her. Perhaps what she said struck a nerve. Her face continued to show no emotion. But as Raven looked at her; really looked at her she noticed it was more than that. There was an emptiness in her expression that unnerved Raven. Even her voice as she continued was practical and logical, devoid of any emotion.
“I can stop when they’re safe.” That struck a chord with her and Raven looked down for a moment. It was easy for her to forget the role Clarke played in the fragile structure of their camp. She was their leader, and that meant she shouldered so much responsibility on her own, which was evident in the way she listed their names. Clarke was under the impression it was her sole responsibility to save everyone. But they were Raven’s friends too. Even Clarke was Raven’s friend, at least she used to be. That friendship was cracked probably beyond repair.
“You need to grieve too, you know,” she said looking up at Clarke. “You’re allowed to feel something Clarke, even if it’s just for a second.” Her voice raised slightly. “We’re going to save our people in Mount Weather.” Because they were her people too. “You’re not doing this alone. I’ll come with you.” Raven stood, one hand leaning on the bed to keep her steady. She would either go with her or go wherever Clarke asked her to. Either way she needed to work too. If Finn’s death was going to mean something then they were going to have to work together. Even if that meant Raven getting over her anger, which was easier said than done.

Make this an ideal world? She wanted that more than anything. But every other day something would try to kill them. It might have been quiet for a little while but who knew how long that would last. A war could start any minute, and she was pregnant. She was pregnant and afraid. But if Bellamy was telling the truth then at least she wasn’t alone. "Let's give this baby a mother, and a father." The sincerity in his voice gave her hope. But she tried not to get her hopes too high. “I want that too.” She didn’t know the first thing about having a baby or raising a child. Raven was a mechanic and it wasn’t exactly a baby friendly job, so she’d never really had to deal with them before. As Bellamy enforced his earlier statement by mimicking her words, she felt the weight on her chest that she hadn’t even noticed before, lighten slightly. Almost like she could breathe a little easier
Her defences were still up though and they were going to stay that way, for now at least. Bellamy sounded genuine in his words but who knew how long that would last. Sure he didn’t seem like the type to go back on his word and leave her, but they never do. "And I'm proud. To be a father to your child." Raven smiled for the first time since she began this conversation and unthinkingly took a step towards him. His words…they were personal and that he was proud to be the father of her child; that meant a lot to her. Taking a step back again, Raven quickly broke the silence in the tent and spoke. “Well, you’re not too bad yourself,” she said, playfully pushing his shoulder. “What a pair we’re going to make, huh,” Raven chuckled quietly with sarcasm in her tone. A makeshift king, though she’d never call him that to his face, and the youngest mechanic on the ark, a title that hardly mattered anymore.

The word I was tagged to use was bootylicious...which I only just managed. Nicely done Bellamy.Read 'em and weepAnd she was not a bully, she was just very determined, that’s all. Sure sometimes, very occasionally, she showed that determination in a slightly violent manner. Raven recalled the last time she punched someone a while ago. Okay fine a few days ago, but they deserved it. A guardsmen had been trying to hit on her and made the catastrophic mistake of calling her bootylicious. Raven glanced at the still healing cut left on her knuckles from the incident where one of his teeth had caught on her fist, and chuckled internally. She was still taking the antibiotics because of the risk of infection, but god damn it, it was worth it. She hadn’t seen him since, which must be somewhat difficult, seeing as they were from the same station.

She leaned back slightly when he got close to her, looking him up and down. Raven didn’t appreciate the invasion of personal space. But goddamn it. He saw right through her. Wick was right of course, if there was anyone else she could turn to she would be there right now. Raven sighed in defeat. And she was not a bully, she was just very determined, that’s all.
Pulling herself out of her thoughts Raven focused on the task at hand and moved towards Wick at his work bench. It was best to get straight to work, no distractions. "You know those dead thrusters outside Mecha," she began, everyone knew about the thrusters, at least every mechanic. She wasn't completely sure about the engineers. "Well I’m gonna fix them.” She looked him dead straight in the eyes. “And you’re going to help me do that.” It was no longer a question. She needed him so he had to help her, end of story. Raven hoped they could be professional about all this, but professionalism and Wick didn’t really mix. Thankfully she didn’t have any plans of punching Wick in the face. For now that is, she thought wryly.

"I can't think of anything Id rather do, then be apart of this." Those words, in that moment, meant everything to her. They finally allowed her to let go of some of the weight that she hadn't noticed was slowly piling on her shoulders since she became aware of her pregnancy. Sure she still had fears, she was freaking terrified. But she wasn't alone. Wick was choosing this, he was choosing her; them. A smile creeped its way onto her features. They were really going to do this. They were going to be parents. Raven couldn’t help but rub her abdomen again and think that she was actually really damn happy that the baby was Wick’s. There was no one else she’d rather do this with and hey, maybe she’d actually tell him that someday.
Maybe not all her defences were down.
She rolled her eyes but couldn't help but chuckle at his "joke." Classic Wick. She knew what he was doing; trying to lighten the mood and she appreciated it. But this was heavy stuff. "So we're doing this?" She asked rhetorically with disbelief in her voice. "Wick, we're having a baby." It was finally starting to hit her. Raven was dealing with the fear and finally letting the disbelief overwhelm her, with maybe a little joy. "We're. Having. A. Baby." She burst out laughing hard and loud, and she didn’t care who heard her because they were going to have a freaking baby.
