Echo tilted her hood out of the wind to help make sure she stayed warm. This was going to be a short trip and she was already annoyed about it. Vallier was one of Nia's growing favorites, and she had looked for this chance to work with him. He had not remembered anything when they had been given him, but as fast as he was picking things up, their healer said it was memories coming back rather then him learning. Echo wasn't sure which one it was, but he was standing strong now. Perhaps he was from one of the out villages, or even funnier--he could be tree nation and their healer had not known it, thus sent him here and now they were making him better!
He told her they should find shelter, and she looked around for markers. Storms like this twisted one's ability to tell which way you were going. In the trees, about two men high were little bits of red glass. If you could see two of them then you were on the right track. They'd lead them to a cave. "This is the way." She told him, speaking up over the growing wind, and starting to walk that way. Vallier was right, and she knew it. The storm would be picking up quickly. In the city everyone would be inside. They lost a few warriors and hunters every year to these storms.
It took them longer to get tot he cave then it should have since the wind and thick snow slowed them down, but Echo collected tree branches and sticks along the way. They could make a fire and make sure they didn't freeze in this. Once she was in the cave enough that movement was easy she shook off the snow, and looked back to make sure he was following. Once she saw him, she laughed at how the snow had frozen in his hair, but then turned to walk deeper into the cave. It was one of the safe ones. It didn't lead to a tunnel, so there were no reapers or anything to surprise them. Dropping her sticks, she pulled the what she needed to start a fire out of her pocket and began working. "We will put the fire between us, and the opening." She told him. He sometimes knew too much and nothing at the same time. So she often had taken to explaining the simple things, but learning the big things from him.

She had never planned to be this. Ever since she was old enough to train as a warrior, she had trained to fight and die for her people. This stillness that came with motherhood was unknown to her. She didn't train or scout while her baby was so small, and this wasn't the life she had ever wanted--but it was one she had embraced and loved now. Echo held up her daughter under her arms, and let he legs work to mock walk over the fire warmed floor. She wanted her to grow strong! "Os ai strik gada!" Echo praised her infant's efforts, even though she knew that it wasn't her really walking. This was the first step in training the children to walk, and she was going to make sure that the daughter of Vallier and Echo of the Ice Nation was going to be the strongest of the strong!
Lifting her up, Echo smiled down at her daughter before laying her down on the floor--close enough tot he fire to stay warm but not so close she was in danger of embers flying out to burn her. Then Echo moved to the side of the home that she shared with Vallier to begin breaking up some meat to cook over the fire now that it had been drained all the way. It would not be long before Rosa was sleeping and Echo would find the house too still and quite. It was the only part of her new life she didn't like. When Vallier was away, and her daughter sleeping, the restlessness set in.
She was sued to hunting, moving out into the world, and going to far off places for information and spying. She knew that with her daughter so young that she could not go far from her for long, and she never regretted or felt bitterness toward her for it--but the silence and restlessness were not things she like. It would be good when Vallier was home. She never felt either when he was. It was love, and warriors were raised to think love was weakness, but Echo had so far only found strength in it. They pushed each other hard, and where she was weak (long term thinking, strategies) he was strong, and where he was weak she was strong. It worked out well.

"I hear parrots can do the same thing," Echo didn't react to the unknown word, but maintined his stance, and body language. "Though I guess you can't really dress a parrot in our clothing," Hearing it a second time she asked about it, still trying to speak and sound like his people. "What is this par-rot you speak of to me?" She tried to use as many words as she could think of in that question, and when he was over she dropped back to her own natural body language.
"Your clothes worked in your metal land, but here it is too little to keep you warm." She told him her opinion without him needing to ask for it--as she was doubtful he ever would. "And it is too easy to see in the woods with your colors." They wore reds, and blues, and colors that didn't match the dark greens, and browns of the Tree Lands, and the grays or whites of her own. It made them easy to find--they also walked loudly and in large groups--which made them impossible not to find.

"Then you should try listening. I'm requesting another warrior to train me." He wouldn't dare! "Now get the hell out." A warrior did not switch when they were someone's second! They worked harder and became a better warrior for the training! If he didn't like it then he shouldn't have pulled her own knife on her and then demanded she train him! They were both in this now, and there was no going back!
Echo was still high off the anger from his actions that first day, and this only fed into it! She had treated him as trusted friend, and he had dismissed it without a thought! She would never tell anyone that her 'feelings' were hurt, but they were! "Seconds do not trade!" She hissed out, before jumping toward him, and tackling him. He was not about to run to the queen and demand another warrior! If he wanted something he needed to learn to fight for it!

When you walked into a den of bears, you stepped with a light foot. Echo, a warrior of the Ice Nation, was now walking solo into the commander's camp, well aware that she was surrounded by the very people she had once fought against. The people that she had killed the brother's and sister's of. It was why she she did so with an inward caution, and an outward arrogance; because at any moment they could turn on her, but if she was going to die she wanted them to see she was proud to have done what she had done. The Ice Nation might have been forced to submit, and build an alliance; but she was a warrior who still served her Queen before anyone else--she would obey the commander, but unlike the Tree People, it was not blind obedience--it was because she had no other choice.
Once she was shown to the commander's tent, Echo walked to the center and faced the commander. "Hei Heda, ai laik Echo kom Azgeda." She told her in their language before switching to the language only warriors spoke, "And I have been sent by my queen to find out what you have learned of the invaders, and how you planned to kill them." Her tone wasn't overly arrogant, and held just the right amount of respect. She wasn't trying to get killed but the commander held an army of hundreds, and now she faced two enemies she could not defeat--the Mountain and the Sky People. Echo was also very careful to make sure she was aware of all of Lexa's warriors that were in the room--for Nia had killed the commander's lover, and as a favorite of Nia's, Echo knew she could find herself in the same fate. More so, since one could assume that as Nia's favorite, she might have had a hand in the killing.

"Is that supposed to scare me?" He asked, dripping wet, and was staring her down. "Do whateever the hell you want." Echo was unaware of how he had used that phrase before, and how far he had grown away from it. What she did know, was how much the five words boiled her blood. "I'm not afraid of you." That was the worst thing you could say to a warrior, for it was like calling them weak. It was telling them they couldn't defeat you no matter what. While you were not supposed to fear any other warrior, telling someone you were not afraid of them was personal.
She was close to him and staring up at his face. She was still pissed at him for turning her own blade on him. Instead of speaking and debating the fear he should have, she used her foot to kick the side of his knee and force it to buckle--thus making him go down on at least on knee--while her hand fisted in his hair and yanked his head back. "You still speak too much when you talk." She hissed at him, pushing his head away , but not stepping back.

Hearing footsteps, Echo stood up and watched until Bellamy came into view. She felt relief at seeing him, and her lips almost took on a smile. Almost. There was something off. It was int he way he moved, and looked at her. Not the eyes of any man--but of the dead. They'd turned him. She knew it as he pulled his blade. It wasn't the calm stead moves of a human; but the angry jerks and animalistic hurry of a Reaper. She said nothing to him, for there was no longer a him to speak too. It was the body, but the man was dead.
No. What had he said in the cages? They could save them?! Yes! She had to make sure she replayed her debt. Her life for his! With that, Echo did something she had never done in her life--she turned and ran. Down the stole halls of the caves, and toward the exit that she had seen before. If she could get to the trees then she could turn the tables! She could try and lead him to a place to capture him. The trouble would be making sure he didn't catch her before then. She had been bleed while kept in a cage and wasn't at her peek, and if she didn't stay out of his reach one of them would have to die.

"Then what the hell was the point of you all learning English?" He snapped back, before saying something else to irritate her more. "Speak in whatever language you what. Just don't expect me to always reply." Then he DARED to turn his back to her, and pour him another drink. Echo reached around him, as he lifted the cup to his face and pushed it over so the water spilled on to his chin rather then past his lips, and all down the front of his face, neck and clothing. It was meant to insult--just as turning his back had been to insult.
She was livid and wanted to make him so as well. Stepping closer toward him she let out a angry growl of words. "Turn your back on my again, Sky Person, and you will find more then my anger at it." It was a threat, and she knew the queen would be displeased at her if she injured or killed him but she wasn't thinking with her whole head. Only the moment.

The Sky Warriors came to them, and the warriors gathered around. They were not in their own lands, but nor were they in the lands that belonged to the Sky People. At first everyone was hesitant to allow them this close--everyone knew of the mountain's fall. Sky People fought like mountain men, but Echo knew they held more honor. At least one of them did. She stood back and watched as one of the Sky People broke off from the few with him. Belomi. She moved closer, though still behind him, to hear what was being said as he addressed her mother. Her mother being Nia, the queen of the Ice Nation. 'Welcome, Sky People.' Her mother told him, but it was more in a display of power then a real welcome. 'I am Nia, queen of the Azgeda'
The last time she had saw Belomi was in the mountain before it's fall. She was in a cage and he had promised to return for her--and he had. Had the commander of the tree nation not disgraced herself and made a deal with her enemies, then she would have fought with him to bring blood to the ones who had take blood. However, before she realized what was happening, they had been outside and forced to leave. Echo had wasted no time returning to the mountain with the aid of Alekay, a warrior from the tree nation--and together they had found the dead. Returning home, she brought word of the disgrace and soon enough word of TonDC spread. Her mother had lost her general there, and his second had returned with her. Antol had brought word of TonDC to them. Now they were at war for the failures. Lexa would pay for it with her blood.

Echo finished off what she had in her hand while he explained it was from Earth's history. She wasn't surprised she had not heard of it before, as they tented to know more about recent histories to long time ago histories. Why learn anything that had nothing to do with them now. Most of their histories were of their clans. Apparently it was were he pulled his ideas, which meant clearly there was advantage in knowing their war tactics.
It was his last comment, and smirk that drew her attention away from politics. "I'd like to see you try and conform to the appearance of one of my people." She squared her shoulders and shifted to turn and smoothly come to rest beside him, rather then facing him. Her stance had falling into one to mimic his, and her hands even rose to move where his own were. Then, in her best impression of his accent and fluency she tried to copy his words. While they were not as smooth, she managed to get close to his accent. "I'd like to see you try and conform to the appearance of one of my people." Echo waited for his reaction before dropping from his stance.

"Ai laik Belomi gon skai kru." Good. "Or Azgeda. Whatever better suits the context." Well, his knowldge was better, his tone was defiant and she had done her best to beat that out of him while training with him. Ever since he had taken her own blade to her, she had been doing everything she could to make him too tired to move as often as she could--though his stamina at training was improving. It had been impressive, but it was getting bettter. "trd." She told him, and even though she had never told him that word before; she snapped it like he should have known. "Skai kru trd Azgeda." Because he was training to be one of them.
"You done speaking Grounder?" Speaking grounder?! Grounder?! "Ai laik a gona gon Azgeda, en ai spik Trigedasleng! Nou grounder!" She hissed at him, telling him she was a warrior of the Ice Nation and she spoke it's language, and it was NOT called grounder! She knew this was what his people called them, but they were no longer one people and she would not be called the same as the tree nation, or boat people! Effortlessly she hopped down from the table and stepped closer toward him. "So I must not speak my language, and only speak yours?" She asked, annoyed. "More speak my language! Thousands more then you have. Yet I must speak it to you?" His people were so arrogant! Saw their weapons and called them savages!

Nia waited for Belomi to walk in, and when he did she slowly uncrossed her legs and stood. She knew he'd come, and had been ready for him. He would not be pleased, but she was not going to allow weakness within her army. He was here for a reason, and that reason was not to bring them down with in. Which meant she had watched him very close, and was displeased with the connections he had made.
He was here to deliver her Lexa, and to make sure the other clans feared her. If he grew too close to some of her warriors then she risked them not watching him as close, or him trying to begin maneuvering things to his advantage. She was not going to be used. "Belomi," She greeted, and waited for what she knew was coming. After all, she had taken his lover, and was even not trying to pull information from her about how close they'd gotten and what things she might have told him, or planned with him.
