Echo was currently in Bellamy's tent, and trying to force feed him their language. She hated this part, because it meant talking to him, and she was always torn between trying to kill him and trying to do something else. Anger had won out thus far, which kept her seated on the table in the tent, one leg folded under her and the other hanging off the table. "Yu nou nowe osir em." She told him, knowing he wouldn't understand. He will never learn this, she had just told him. She wasn't sure if he didn't want to learn, or if it was just too hard for Sky People, or if she was just not wanting to teach him.
Echo watched him for a moment before trying again. "Tell me who you are." Because that was something important that he would need to be able to tell others, for Nia to be pleased. "Chon yu bilaik?" She asked him who he was in her language, and waited for the reply. He had been training all day, and now it was night. She had shed her outer layer of clothes and was now wearing just her pants and a thin shirt. His tent was open enough for a bit of room, and the fire near by kept it warm.

we've been AT WAR SINCE WE LANDED The training had been intense, but that was what he had needed. Each day that passed, he felt like he was learning more and more. Even when the physical training was over, Echo would push him to learn the language. He had no interest in it but it wasn't something he was left with much choice in. He withhed an eye roll at her statement, for she knew damn well that he didn't understand the words. He knew a few, but not nearly enough. She then said in English for him to tell her who he was. He wondered if this was how Lincoln had taught Octavia how to speak Grounder. "Ai laik Belomi gon skai kru." He purposely used that particular word, being a bit of a smart ass.
"Or Azgeda. Whatever better suits the context." Because right now, he was both. He was here as part of an alliance, but he would never give up his Arker status. It was a part of him. It was what ran through his blood, just like being part of the Ice Nation ran in Echo's. Bellamy poured himself a cup of water and practically drank the whole thing in a sip. He was used to training, but this was a different level . . . and yet, part of him always wanted to keep going, just so he wouldn't have to stop and think about the event that had occurred on a few months ago. "You done speaking Grounder?" He questioned in the usual blunt tone he used. She looked pretty comfortable sitting on his table there so he doubted she was.

"Ai laik Belomi gon skai kru." Good. "Or Azgeda. Whatever better suits the context." Well, his knowldge was better, his tone was defiant and she had done her best to beat that out of him while training with him. Ever since he had taken her own blade to her, she had been doing everything she could to make him too tired to move as often as she could--though his stamina at training was improving. It had been impressive, but it was getting bettter. "trd." She told him, and even though she had never told him that word before; she snapped it like he should have known. "Skai kru trd Azgeda." Because he was training to be one of them.
"You done speaking Grounder?" Speaking grounder?! Grounder?! "Ai laik a gona gon Azgeda, en ai spik Trigedasleng! Nou grounder!" She hissed at him, telling him she was a warrior of the Ice Nation and she spoke it's language, and it was NOT called grounder! She knew this was what his people called them, but they were no longer one people and she would not be called the same as the tree nation, or boat people! Effortlessly she hopped down from the table and stepped closer toward him. "So I must not speak my language, and only speak yours?" She asked, annoyed. "More speak my language! Thousands more then you have. Yet I must speak it to you?" His people were so arrogant! Saw their weapons and called them savages!

whatever THE HELL WE WANT He knew she was doing that on purpose. Speaking more Grounder after his sarcastic question asking if she was done, and making it clear that he wanted to stop speaking in it. Though truth be told, he knew this was beneficial. Hearing it more, allowed him to pick up on it more . . . especially when she used unfamiliar terminology. He could at least pick up on the context of it in the way she used it, piecing together the other words he knew as well. Like trd. And the word that was the actual name of their language. He just called it Grounder . . . perhaps because he knew it in turn would annoy her.
The nature of their interactins were as such. Which made their training sessions rather interesting indeed. She then stated that she must only speak his language and not herown; that more spoke her language yet he was demanding she speak his. "Then what the hell was the point of you all learning English?" He bluntly and rhetoricaly questioned. It obviously was not for the sake of the Sky People since warriors had been learning it well before they came onto the Ground. "Speak in whatever language you what. Just don't expect me to always reply." Especially if he didn't understand what she was saying which annoyed him. With those words he turned to keep his back faced to her, pouring another cup of water to drink.

"Then what the hell was the point of you all learning English?" He snapped back, before saying something else to irritate her more. "Speak in whatever language you what. Just don't expect me to always reply." Then he DARED to turn his back to her, and pour him another drink. Echo reached around him, as he lifted the cup to his face and pushed it over so the water spilled on to his chin rather then past his lips, and all down the front of his face, neck and clothing. It was meant to insult--just as turning his back had been to insult.
She was livid and wanted to make him so as well. Stepping closer toward him she let out a angry growl of words. "Turn your back on my again, Sky Person, and you will find more then my anger at it." It was a threat, and she knew the queen would be displeased at her if she injured or killed him but she wasn't thinking with her whole head. Only the moment.

we've been AT WAR SINCE WE LANDED One second Bellamy was getting ready to drink water from a cup . . . the next, he was wearing the water from the cup. His tongue ran over his bottom lip, using his had to wipe the contents from his chin, uncaring of how it dampened his shirt. He was more irritated by her actions than anything else . . . as the feeling seemed to be mutual. She stepped toward him, threatening him.
He knew that rationally, it would not sit well with the queen of Echo did anything to him. But he wasn't going to hide behind that. He wasn't going to use any position he had to dismiss her threat. She stepped closer to him and he returned the favor, moving closer to her, tossing the cup to the side. "Is that supposed to scare me?" He questioned rhetorically, hardly phased by the threat -- even if he did know that weapons wise, she could easily gain the upperhand.
He was not a swords person, or one who used bows and arrows. But nor was he a coward who was going to bow down to her warning and threats. He was frustrated with this entire situation of being here, away from the others at Camp . . . and coping with the body count that exceeeded 600 was adding to all this pent up tension as well. "Do whateever the hell you want." Now there were words he had not used for a while. "I'm not afraid of you." He didn't realize just how close he was standing to her, his intensely his gaze stayed on her. He just felt a rush of so much all at once . . . and somewhere in the back of his mind . . . deep, deep, in the back of his mind, he knew he should step away.

"Is that supposed to scare me?" He asked, dripping wet, and was staring her down. "Do whateever the hell you want." Echo was unaware of how he had used that phrase before, and how far he had grown away from it. What she did know, was how much the five words boiled her blood. "I'm not afraid of you." That was the worst thing you could say to a warrior, for it was like calling them weak. It was telling them they couldn't defeat you no matter what. While you were not supposed to fear any other warrior, telling someone you were not afraid of them was personal.
She was close to him and staring up at his face. She was still pissed at him for turning her own blade on him. Instead of speaking and debating the fear he should have, she used her foot to kick the side of his knee and force it to buckle--thus making him go down on at least on knee--while her hand fisted in his hair and yanked his head back. "You still speak too much when you talk." She hissed at him, pushing his head away , but not stepping back.

we've been AT WAR SINCE WE LANDED Amidst their stare down, she kicked the side of his knee. While it didn't make him fall, it caused him to hunch forward a little at the sensitive region, allowing her to grab his hair. This hardly hurt compared to everything else he had been through, but his body reacted reflexively. After yanking her hair she pushed his head away telling him he spoke too much when he talked. He was sick of this all. Sick of putting his trust in people only to have them give reason for him to regret it. She had been the one person he had thought he could trust here, which was why he had requested that she be the one to train him.
But since then, she was just determined to make his life hell. He was over it. Over all of this. He didn't expect the Grounders to see him any differently for helping them . . . but he had expected some loyalty and understanding from her. How wrong he was. Just like he had been wrong about Clarke. He should have learned, that the only woman he could ever trust, was his sister. His own blood. Not these others that he tried to build ties with. He raised his body to an upright position once again, not taking his eyes off of her. "Then you should try listening. I'm requesting another warrior to train me." He was done with all this. The next person may be harsher, but at least he wouldn't have any expectations. At least he wouldn't feel disappointed. "Now get the hell out."

"Then you should try listening. I'm requesting another warrior to train me." He wouldn't dare! "Now get the hell out." A warrior did not switch when they were someone's second! They worked harder and became a better warrior for the training! If he didn't like it then he shouldn't have pulled her own knife on her and then demanded she train him! They were both in this now, and there was no going back!
Echo was still high off the anger from his actions that first day, and this only fed into it! She had treated him as trusted friend, and he had dismissed it without a thought! She would never tell anyone that her 'feelings' were hurt, but they were! "Seconds do not trade!" She hissed out, before jumping toward him, and tackling him. He was not about to run to the queen and demand another warrior! If he wanted something he needed to learn to fight for it!
