The Glowing Tree Festival
As the year comes to an end, the leaves of trees fall, leaving a skeleton behind. Inspired by stories of their elder, but with new interpretations, the Trikru have taken to putting lanterns on the naked trees. Each lantern stands for a dead loved one or the collective lost loved ones of a family. White lanterns stand for those, who should have found peace by now, the ones that are held dear in loving memory. Red lanterns are set up for the recently lost, for those who the Trikru mean to put to rest, by celebrating the death of a year and welcoming new life. In the next year those lanterns will be white as well.

New Years Festival
Not much has changed from modern New Years festival. It's preceded by families sitting together, having dinner together, maybe exchanging presents, if they could afford it. Then in the evening everyone comes together, to celebrate and count down to the new year on a screen in the respective areas in the stations. |

Winter Festivals With the end of a year many cultures of the worlds, in modern society and past societies, have celebrated festivals to part with the old year and welcome the new one in very different ways. As the death of a year is a very important occasion we figured the tribes and populations each came to find their own tone, their own festivals, adjusting to the situation they find themselves in. There is a different festival for each group of people! Check out the board for the info thread! Please note that these are all AU threads.

The Challenge for this thread is....
STEP INTO THE LIGHT
- Details: By Step Into The Light, we mean your characters first reaction when being exposed to the Earth's atmosphere.
For Arkers: upon exiting the drop ship/station, what were their feelings, their first thoughts, etc.
For Grounders: imagine they were born earlier in the shelter, what did they see and feel upon exiting for the first time - did they feel the effects of radiation or see others being effected/dying by it.
For Mountain Men: imagine they were able to step outside for the first time, what would their initial thoughts, feelings and fears be.
- Post Limit: You can do more than one post in this thread, including more as the same character, or a different post for a different character you have. There is no limit to how many you can do, or for how many characters.
- Narrative/POV: You can either write in First Person (I, me, my, etc) or Third Person (he, she, they, etc).
- Length: There is no maximum length for your post, however it must be a minimum of one paragraph.

The Challenge for this thread is....
NEW CHARACTERS SEASON 3 PROMO POSTER
- Details: By New Character Season 3 Promo Poster, we mean for you to design a graphic themed around one of the new characters announced to be joining season 3 of the 100. This does contain casting spoilers. You can include one new character, or multiple into the same poster. It can include whatever images you like; it can be a still, or gif, or anything at all. It's entirely up to you as we give you all creative freedom!
- Post Limit: You can post more than one graphic for this challenge. There is no limit to how many you can do.
- Dimensions: There are no specified dimensions for this challenge. But please do not exceed the width of 600 pixels.
- New Cast:
Macallan [Portrayed by Shawn Mendes]: He is a “scrappy, young Ark survivor” who finds himself in a sticky situation, which then forces him to use a “particular set of talents” he has.
Pike [Portrayed by Michael Beach]: Pike will be a “tough and charismatic member of the Ark with a staunch moral code." Pike is his last name.
Roan [Portrayed by Zach McGowan]: Roan will be "a rogue Grounder warrior who will stop at nothing to get what he wants."
Titus [Portrayed by Neil Sandilands]: Titus is an embodiment of the Old Guard, who works to preserve and protect his Grounder civilization and the fate of his people.
Nia [Portrayed by Brenda Strong]: The Ice Nation Queen has ruled her people for many years while “holding onto power through ruthlessness and savvy”. She does what she must to maintain her power, even when it puts her at odds with those closest to her.
Note: Those listed above are just the ones who have a bit of description given so that you have something to work off of in terms of the poster. Not all the new Season 3 cast additions have been listed.

the best Commander?
We know that there could be a lot more options than the thre listed, however, we focused on three strong female grounders and pose the question to you now: who is either the best or would make the best Commander. How you interpret the term 'best' is up to you.
