When Baron had gotten a message that someone was here to see him at his office, he could guess who it was. Especially with how the visitor was described. A young, blond haired woman. Baron knew he and Abra had to be careful, considering they were getting closer. Closer than Baron ever thought he would to someone who had kidnapped and attempted to kill him. And yet, there was still a flutter of his heart when she came; when they spent time together. He couldn't quite explain what it was . . . only that he wished to further explore it. When he made his way to the waiting area however, he froze upon seeing the sight before him. Abra must have also realized how it looked considering her hands moved from the body and her immediate reaction was saying that he was like that.
Baron believed her. For whatever reason, he believed it. Even though it might be easier that he didn't. Something in the way she said it. The sincerity. And besides . . . she wasn't an amateur. She wouldn't be caught over an unconscious body that she had caused. Concern quickly took over as Baron rushed toward the man, falling to his knees next to him. Unconscious meant that he was alive. "We need a doctor," he said, fingers finding the pulse as Baron pulled out his phone with his other hand. He had a private doctor who . . . knew the delicate nature of a lot of cases.
But this was one of Baron's men. And he wasn't about to let go of what happened. Whether the man fell ill, or whether someone had caused this to happen. "Do you know how this looks?" He rhetorically asked her in a low voice. It wasn't an accusation but merely a statement. That if someone else had walked in, they may be less . . . inclined to believe her. "Did you see anything?" He asked, wondering if she saw or heard anything suspicious when she neared or found him.

An invisible thread connects Baron slowly inhaled as she lifted her leg. His eyes stayed fixed to hers, though he knew the position this put them in. Bodies nearly entangled with one another, as if this was more than a dance among two strangers. As if they held some personal, intimate connection to one another. It was far far from the truth and yet . . . Baron did not pull away. His hand went to her thigh to lower her leg back down, but instead of feeling the fabric of her dress, he felt the softness of her skin. The warmth of it.
His hand returned to slide up her back, feeling the light tug of his hair, though he made no move to break their contact. Not when she was moving even closer. His mind did not have time to process her words adequately to form a response . . . and soon enough, he was silenced from any words. For he felt her lips against his own. His froze, body stiffening as his eyes remained open. The shock from the embrace flooded him. Kissing was incredibly intimate for Baron, and not something he engaged in without thought . . . considering his position. So this, here, now . . . was unexpected and left Baron unsure how to act. He did not deepen the embrace, lips stilled, eyes open and staring, shoulders squared slightly, movements of swaying ceased. She clearly had more experience with this. Is this how she manipulated others? Lured them?
Baron had to admit . . . her lips were far softer than he ever thought they wold be . . . not that he actually thought about it. But there was something in her kiss that sent a chill up his spine. The ease in which she did it. The slowness of it, as if striving to build a need deep within him. One, he would not -- could not -- entertain. Baron was unsure how much time passed until his head started moving back a little, eyes still opened, still on her features, eyes ever so slightly widened. Once their lips swallowed, he remained frozen in place, swallowing as he just looked at her.
The seconds that passed suddenly felt like minutes, hours. He did not dare look around to see who may have witnessed this. Perhaps no one. Perhaps everyone. All Baron knew was that there was something . . . unnerving about it. Whether it be the fact that she had done it with such swiftness. Or, the fact that he did not even try to stop it. "I don't think you realize what you've done." His words quiet, but held a seriousness to them. His feet still planted in their spot, his hands still upon her as if he was transfixed and could not move. Not even to dance to the music that still played.

An invisible thread connects Baron smiled with amusement as she spoke of how she liked taking his firsts. It was true; he certainly didn't mind either. A business trip to this side of the world had certainly opened up so much opportunity, when it came to Abra that is. "I bet you do," he returned teasingly. He moved without resistance as she pulled him closer, her lips against ear.
He closed his eyes for a brief moment, taking in the feeling of her so close. Basking in the sensation that it caused to wash over him. "Perhaps . . . " He retorted, though they both knew that he did. The urge to tease her was just to great though. Something else that came with a great deal of ease now.
He let out a half scoff, half breath of amusement as he drew his head back to look at her. "Not every way," he assured her. He leaned forward, kissing the corner of her lips before inching back, though not far. "What other firsts do you think you can claim?" He asked with that same playfulness, placing another light kiss on her cheek.

An invisible thread connects Her words held that same subtle tone of threat to him, further intrigue to know what she was playing at but . . . he supposed it was clear. His reason for keeping her to ensure that she did not get away. Her reason for keeping him, perhaps to finish the job. Who knew. But there was indeed a promise there, just as there was in his own words.
When he brought her up, he felt her body press against him, his back straightening a little more and his chin titling upward slightly. He was well aware of how . . . intentional it was. And just in case that had not been enough, he felt her fingers through his hair; a gesture that could be seen as comforting and intimate.
Though in this case . . . the dynamic that existed between them made it anything but. Despite even the close proximity of their lips. Baron's eyes fell to her mouth before returning to her gaze. He let out a slow breath, not about to close the distance but instead, met her gaze in full confidence and certainty. "A blessing then," he stated, his voice low. Barley audible. Heard only due to the incredibly close -- practically non existent -- distance between their lips.
"For his sake," he added on. The hand around her slid down her back, fingers splaying over it as he kept her close. He leaned forward, as if to kiss her but swiftly altered direction so that his lips were close to her ear, hardly an inch between her skin and his mouth. Nearly cheek to cheek. And in a whispered voice, spoke directly into her ear. "I won't let you get away this time." Another promise. Another threat.

An invisible thread connects Random Number Generator picked: 8. Lying naked in front of a fan.
The meeting with his fellow businessmen at the spa didn't exactly go smoothly. It wasn't so much the dealings between them, but what came after. They had been enjoying the heat outside by the pool, and unfortunately, when Baron moved to stand, someone tripped over a towel, and one thing led to another . . . landing Baron in the pool.
The workers rushed towards him, clearly mortified by what had happened but there was no harm done. Still. They offered him a room to shower off and get a massage should he desire. Baron was going to opt out of the second option, but he was definitely going to take them up the first. He was escorted to one of their best areas, granting him the necessary privacy . . . or so he thought. He showered off the chlorine of the pool and stepped out of the shower, the heat hitting him immediately.
It was so damn hot here that he already felt like he needed another shower. Fortunately, a fan to help the air circulate helped, as he moved to stand in front of him. He closed his eyes, using the towel to ruffle his hair as the rest of him just enjoyed the cool sensation over his now dry body. He wasn't even sure how soon the footsteps had entered, only that when he suddenly opened his eyes, he saw a figure. He abruptly lowered the towel to wrap around his hips to cover his lower region. "Do you ever knock?!" He exclaimed, his back turned to the intruder as he was hurrying to grab a robe.

An invisible thread connects Baron wasn't sure how it came to this . . . and the strangest part, was that he had no complaints. He simply, embraced it. Despite the complications that it posed. It was perhaps why they chosen to meet at a hotel room, where privacy would be granted to them both. A nice dinner in the room, where they didn't have to worry about prying eyes. They already had enough issues with the tabloids. It was strange indeed. How . . . at ease he now felt in her presence. Considering in their first meeting, she had tried to kill him.
He knew it wasn't anything personal, but never had he thought he would reach this level of her. From dinner, to casual cuddles on the bed, relaxed. Eased. Unguarded. Clearly, for he was currently lying next to her comfortable, her fingers weaving through the locks of his hair and skilfully twisting it together in what he assumed was braids. "I should have you know . . . this is the first time anyone has ever braided my hair," he told her with an underlying tone of amusement. "You like to take a lot of my firsts," he said teasingly. For, it was also the first time he was enjoying the company in this way of someone who had kidnapped him.

One generation plants the trees,
Baron didn't have to ask why he was asked to do this. He supposed it was fitting considering his position on the Ark, and the knowledge others had of him. That didn't mean it would be an easy task. He had learned only bits and pieces of their language, and hoped to learn more. To understand more. But right now, his efforts were fixed on the girl before him. She didn't need to speak English for him to understand her.
He could see it in her entire demeanour. She didn't want to be here. And that right there, was going to make his task ten times more difficult. To find motivation for her. He smiled, clearly not understanding what she was saying so thought to start with something simple enough. Introductions. He put his hands on his chest, taking a few steps towards her and looking at her. "Baron," he said. "Name, Baron." He could eventually scaffold and extend the sentence but for now, it was more important for her to pick up on the basic keywords first.

Tell me, I forget. Show me, I remember
Baron took in her words, commenting on the stars and their beauty. Yet, it was a bittersweet sight. As she added that they were also burning and dying. He could understand the reasoning for it. Sometimes, a sight was not worth it in the absence of loved ones. He kept his gaze at the stars, though felt hers upon him. A slight smile formed on his lips at her latter spoken words of how she was not the best company.
"I can't tell you how many times I've heard that," he told her, turning his head to now look at her. "Both on the Ark, and the ground." People speaking of their poor company due to the trauma or loss they had faced. Though, they had not lost an entire civilization . . . still. Sometimes the loss of a single person could feel like the loss of ones existence. "You don't have to be Maya," he told her. She didn't have to great or even good company.
"No one expects you to be," he added on with a continued smile. "I just hope you know that, no matter how it may feel right now . . . you're not alone." With those words he turned to look back at the endless sky. He knew that she had formed close bonds with one delinquent in particular. But he also wanted to assure her that there were others here that would work to make feel like she belonged. Baron among them.

An invisible thread connects Baron held a stoic gaze, face moving with her prompting so that there was hardly any space between them, as he felt her nails against the back of his head. He slightly titled his chin upward, eyes locking onto hers, unfazed. Unaffected. While he had men working on finding her whereabouts, this was certainly not the place he'd expect to find her. Let alone, be dancing with her. When she suggested jealousy, Baron withheld a scoff. His face remained unchanged, disallowing her teasing words to get to him.
Though, the thought was certainly an amusing one, as she elaborated. A slight smirk reformed on his face. "Neither," he replied nonchalantly. He wasn't about to even suggest that it was jealousy that kept him so close to her. But even then, he was not going to forgo the opportunity to return the tease. He raised his hand a little to spin her and then his hands wrapped around her waist as he dipped her, his lips dangerously close to hers, eyes still fixed onto hers.
"But now that I have you in my arms, don't think I'll be so quick to let you go." The words of course, played along with the tease, but how he meant them . . . was of course in an entirely different way that one of intimacy. And he did mean them. Perhaps the words more of an underlying threat than anything else. He slowly raised her upright again so that they could resume each step at the still close distance. "My concern rests with whoever is victim to your company here." Because clearly, she had a purpose for her presence at this event.
