As soon as the girl fell to the ground a triumphant grin appeared on Seren's face. Her tactic had worked and she could almost taste victory as she stepped towards her opponent. Sword in hand as she stood over the girl, her eyes flashed towards the girls hand as she reached for her discarded weapon and smirking she stepped on her wrist, applying just enough pressure to bring pain to the girl and to stop her attempts at reaching the weapon. Staring down at her she pressed the tip of her sword to the girls chest "You're dead" she told her, as a small red welt appeared around where the tip of the weapon was pressing on the girls body, showing that the blade had pierced the skin.
As soon as the blood became visible, Seren withdrew her sword and replaced it in its sheath recognising that she had won the fight. Removing her foot from the girls wrist she held out a hand as if to help her up "you fought well" she complimented as she waited for the girl to take her hand. Hoping that she wasn't too disappointed that she had lost the fight, but for a while she had been worried about losing herself as this girl had put up a great fight, she hadn't made it easy for her.

Seren waited patiently for the child to speak, she understood that she might not want to speak to her or maybe it was just because she was scared but eventually the girl did talk. Her voice sounded hoarse and sore as and Seren couldn't help but feel sorry for the child. As the girl finally spoke, introducing herself as Charlotte, the warrior dipped her head in acknowledgement "Charlotte... I'm Seren" she told the girl her own name as she shuffled forwards, closing what distance there was between them. Cautiously she reached out with a hand to touch the girls forehead and frowned as she found that she was warm, too warm. "Where does it hurt?" she asked Charlotte as she lowered her hand from the child's forehead and lowered her gaze to look over her body.
The girl had many minor scrapes and bruises littering her skin and they were clearly visible to the warrior, but she was not concerned by them. The thing that concerned her was the internal injuries that the child might have, she was aware that there was a cliff nearby and it looked as if Charlotte had dragged herself from that direction. "Did you fall?" she asked gesturing behind them in the general direction where the cliff lay. She wasn't the first child to have fallen over the edge, many children from her own clan had fallen after playing too close to the cliffs edge, it wasn't common but it happened. "Are your people looking for you?" this question was edged with concern as she glanced over her shoulder, the last thing she needed was for the sky people to discover her hovering over one of their children and to get the wrong idea. Not only would they probably kill her, or worse, but it would probably provoke them to retaliate and maybe they'd attack a village, maybe they'd attack her village. She could not allow that to happen, the sooner she got this child somewhere concealed where she could help her without risk of being discovered by either of their people the better.

Seren had been walking through the forest when she'd come across something that worried her, crouching down she examined the ground her brow furrowing in confusion, the grass had been flattened and disturbed and it looked as if something had dragged itself across the ground. The girls concern only grew as she spotted a couple of spots of blood decorating the grass, whatever or whoever had been here was injured and if they could not stand then it was likely to be serious. Without hesitation she got to her feet and began to follow the trail, she didn't have to go far however before finding the source of the blood and she was surprised to find a young girl sitting propped up against a tree seemingly asleep.
She was dressed in the clothes of a sky person and Seren's first instinct was to turn around and leave the girl to her fate, she was not one of her people and the warrior had no duty to protect her or seek out help for her. However, she couldn't bring herself to look away from the girl, she was just a child and Seren quickly came to the realisation that she couldn't be much older than her brother Gastor, she might even be younger than him. Stepping closer to the child, once again Seren found herself crouching down, hovering a hand in front of her face she discovered that the girl was breathing and didn't know whether to feel relieved or disappointed. Maybe it would've been kinder if the child had slipped away in her sleep, she was obviously injured and needed to see a healer, but Seren could not take her back to her village, they were at war with Skaikru and bringing a sky person back to the village would do more harm than good.
The warrior was just debating whether or not she should leave the girl when a small groan escaped the child, attracting Seren's full attention. As the girl seemed to freeze in fear at the sight of her, the warrior offered her most reassuring smile. "Do not be afraid..." she muttered, remembering what she'd heard about Skaikru only speaking English. "I'm not going to hurt you, what's your name?" she asked, making sure not to touch the child until she made it known that she was not a threat and she had no intention of harming her.

Seren continued to glare at the other girl, remaining on her guard in case her rival tried to catch her by surprise again. She wouldn't fall for that trick a second time, watching the girl intently as she tried to figure out what her next move would be she could feel her opponent studying her with the same intense curiosity that she felt. Seren didn't have time to retaliate before the girl launched her attack, this time aiming a strike at her shoulder but she'd anticipated this attack and quickly brought her sword up to block the attack.
As soon as the two blades clashed the impact sent a painful jolt up Seren's arm causing the girls mouth to open in an inaudible gasp as she met the girls gaze, glaring at her as she gripped the hilt of her sword firmly and threw all of her weight against the blade as she tried to get the upper hand. Realising that she was in a dangerous situation and there was a risk that she could be overpowered by her adversary, she desperately thought of a way to regain the upper hand. Her eyes flickered down quickly as a thought suddenly hit her and she aimed a kick at the girls legs aiming to destabilise her or better yet knock her over.

As her opponent blocked the attack, Seren raised an eyebrow in surprise of course she hadn't expected to win the fight with just one swing of her sword, that would be foolish however she hadn't expected the girl to block the attack so easily either. Scowling in frustration, the second struck out with her sword a couple more times but each time her opponent blocked her seemingly as effortlessly as the first time. Maybe she'd underestimated the girl that opposed her, she looked maybe a year or two older than herself upon closer inspection and the way that she carried herself made her seem like a confident warrior.
Suddenly, a flash of steel caught her off guard as she realised almost too late that the girl had aimed a strike at her leg. Spinning away from the deadly blade at the last minute, the girl came to a halt a safe distance from her rival. Glancing down at her leg she noticed a tear in the material of her trousers and she sent a glare towards the girl. She'd escaped injury, but only just. She willed herself to focus, to stop allowing herself to get distracted, but this girl intrigued her. She'd never before spoken to her despite the fact that they apparently lived in the same village. She was definitely smart, she'd give her that, using defence to her advantage at the beginning of their fight and only now switching to offence to unsettle her.
Seren didn't like it when something didn't go her way in battle and she especially didn't enjoy being made a fool of in front of her mentor, taking a hesitant step back towards the girl, she could feel her heart pounding in her chest and her gaze narrowed as she stared at the girl that stood opposite her. She didn't like the fact that this girl had almost outsmarted her. The fact that she'd allowed herself to get distracted angered her more than anything else, she was better than that, she knew that she should enter a battle with a clear mind and not allow anything to cloud her judgement.

As her opponent entered the glade, Seren wasn't surprised to find that it was a girl that looked to be around her own age. Her eyes scanned the girls body, assessing how much of a threat she was, as if just by a glance she could tell what her strengths and weaknesses were. As the other second uttered a quick apology for her tardiness, Seren offered a slight dip of her head in acknowledgement to the apology, she didn't know why her opponent was late, nor did she wish to know, whatever the reason it was not relevant.
As Seren listened to her mentor explaining the rules of the fight, she listened intently. As she had suspected the fight would be to first blood. Having grown up with two brothers, she was incredibly competitive and determined that she would not be the first one to bleed, not today. She would win this fight. How good could this girl be? All the while that Arwen was talking, Seren was watching her opponent, taking in her features, trying to guess what her first move would be.
Seren watched as the girl took out her sword and immediately became interested with how she held the weapon. Trying to keep her face void of emotion as to not give away what her first move would be, Seren subconsciously shifted her weight from one foot to the other. She was so preoccupied with studying the girl that when Arwen announced for them to begin, she almost didn't hear her. Starting slightly as she realised the order had been given, she took a cautious step forwards, her grip tightening around her sword. Then, her previous hesitation forgotten she swung the blade around aiming for the girls right flank, she wanted to test her first, see what she would do. If she would retreat or block the attack.

Seren stood in the glade, Arwen stood at her shoulder and she was vaguely aware of her mentor talking, trying to give her a bit of last minute advice. Arwen had arranged for her to spar against another warriors second, it would be a test of her skills and it was clear from her mentors words that she did not expect Seren to lose, failure was out of the question. Seren was barely listening to her mentors words however, she was more focussed upon the arrival of her opponent, they were late and tardiness was not something that she approved of. Maybe whoever it was that she was meant to be fighting had chickened out, thought better than to show their face.
She was confident of victory, because she knew that Arwen had trained her well and although failure was a part of every seconds training, every successful warrior had lost their fair share of fights, but she was determined to prove herself and if winning this fight proved to everyone that she was a capable warrior then she would not allow herself to lose. "Seren? Are you listening to me?" Arwen's voice snapped her from her thoughts and she turned to look at the woman with a smile.
"Yes Arwen..." came her reply "I know what I have to do" her gaze swept the surrounding trees, impatiently awaiting the arrival of her opponent, she didn't know the age of the second she was going to fight, nor did she know their gender, their skill set. She would be going into this fight blind with only her sword at her disposal, of course this fight would only be to first blood. Nobody died in training, what would be the point in training a child only for them to be cut down before they entered their first real battle.
A rustling in the undergrowth alerted the pair to the arrival of another person and Seren reached behind her to take a firm grip on the hilt of her sword, pulling it slowly from its sheath so that she could hold it comfortably in her hand as she prepared to meet the person she'd be sparring with that day.

//Don't worry, Seren's not gonna hurt him As he stumbled backwards, Seren pursued him, not allowing him to put too much distance between them. She made sure to kick his gun away when she reached it, so that he could not get to his weapon easily. There was something about this mountain man that prevented the girl from killing him on the spot, most people would be terrified if they were in the same situation as he was and yet he remained fairly calm. At his words she tightened her grip on her sword "I am nothing like your people" she growled at him "if I killed you now, it would be to avenge the ones I lost to your people, your people killed mine needlessly" the mountain men could survive easily in their home, people died. That was a fact of life, people died every day, not everyone could be saved, but the people of the mountain were greedy, they wanted to save everyone by using the blood of her people to heal them. She raised an eyebrow at his words, but her sword arm wavered, "We have no need for guns" she told him quickly "we do not use them... Your people forbid us to, they threatened to destroy us if we ever lay hands upon a gun, so that we could not fight back" a slight quiver in her voice betrayed her as she glared at him. "Even if I wanted to spare your life... Even if I wanted to, my people would never accept your help! I am not the only one who lost somebody to the mountain, every single person in my village would want you dead, you'd be dead before I had the chance to explain, they'd kill you and then they'd kill me for bringing you back to our home" she explained to him. She wasn't a monster, she didn't kill people who didn't deserve to die, but the mountain men deserved to die. "It's not up to me anyway... If I let you live today, you'd only die tomorrow... If not at the hands of my people then in some other way, you can't survive out here" she muttered, her eyes flickering momentarily to the floor before she looked back at him.

Seren growled at the mountain man, her fingers itched with the desire to choke the life from his body, maybe she could have some fun tormenting him before she put an end to his pitiful life. "The sky people are your enemy just as they are mine... Just as you are mine" she spat at him, her grip tightening around her sword as she saw him reach for his gun. However to her surprise, he placed it on the ground, a gesture that told her that he had no intention to harm her. Or perhaps it was a trick. She didn't know. All she knew was that she owed nothing to this mountain man and she wasn't about to trust him.
Noticing the man's unwillingness to meet her gaze, Seren couldn't help but smirk "you fear me..." she ventured, her gaze narrowing as she took another hesitant step forward "you should... I have taken the lives of people for crimes far less than yours" it was her duty to kill the mountain man, he was perhaps the last of his kind. She had to put an end to his life, she owed it to her people. However, that was not the only reason the warrior wanted to make this man suffer, this was far more personal, the pain ran deep within her veins. She wanted to hear his screams of pain, she needed to hear them. She was owed justice, the Commander had failed to give it to her by ordering the retreat and now she sought revenge for everything the mountain had done. At his outburst, Seren faltered and her sword arm wavered, there had been rumours that the reapers had been created by the mountain men, but she had not wished to believe them. "You and your people have caused so much suffering, you turned us into monsters! You locked my people in cages! You drained them of their blood just so that you could preserve your own lives! You call us savages..." she growled at him. She failed to see how the mountain men could live with what they had done.
"You are not innocent, you say that you do not wish to be like your people! But you are like them, my peoples blood runs through your veins! It has been healing every injury you sustained since you were a child! My people have been dying to keep your people alive for generations!" she raised her sword and took yet another step towards him. "I want to kill you for what you have done... And I will... It will be painful... I will take each of your fingers, then I'll take your toes, I'll take your eyes and your tongue... And that will just be the beginning" she threatened him, she was not a stranger to torture, in fact she'd grown up watching how traitors were punished within her village. She wanted this man to suffer. For what he'd done to her people, for what he'd done to Sae, she'd never get to see her again because of the mountain men. They were the takers of life, if they valued their lives so much Seren would not disappoint him, she'd prolong his life for as long as possible, she'd allow him to feel every cut she gave him, every wound she inflicted he'd feel, she hoped he was strong, she wouldn't want him to pass out before she'd finished with him.

"The priority was to get our people out of the mountain, away from immediate danger" she told him hesitantly "that mountain has been impenetrable since the day that we discovered it, it has claimed thousands of our people and turned others into monsters" she knew that Bellamy was angry, that he didn't agree with the Commanders decision because it had cost some of his own people their lives and she understood the anger that he felt, but she couldn't sympathise with him. Not when the sacrifice of a few of his people had saved her own. "For us... There was no other way, no other solution, they sent a missile to my village, it claimed countless lives, the power that the mountain held over us is not something I am proud of but our losses could have been greater if we'd sent our army into that place and I know many of our warriors would be reluctant to leave anyone alive, even if you claim that some of them were innocent"
At his words her glare latched back onto him "I didn't know that you could see into the future, is that a gift that Skaikru possess?" she asked him, sarcasm dripping from her voice "You cannot be certain that we would have been victorious, our people in the mountain were the priority, sacrificing a handful of your people to save hundreds of ours seemed worth it at the time" she met his gaze as she tucked her knife back into her belt, her hands balling into fists. It was so frustrating to be trapped in a cave with a man that would never understand why the decision had been made. "I do not agree with everything our Commander does, I wanted to avenge the people we lost in the mountain, I wanted them to suffer as we have suffered, but that was not what was decided... Would you not have done the same if you could be guaranteed that the lives of every single one of your people would be spared?" questioning him cautiously, she wiped a hand over her face, sure that most of the war paint that had once been there had been completely washed away.
"We may have had the numbers, but they had the technology, we have seen how much damage guns can do, the Commander was not ready to risk losing her army just to save a few of your people" her voice wavered slightly, her brow furrowing as if in thought "It was... Wrong... But either way, the mountain had to fall for our people to move on, Jus Drein Jus Daun, like you said... Every man, woman and child in that mountain were guilty of bleeding my people to preserve their own lives" as the man began to show signs of anger, Seren automatically got to her feet. "We have been trained all our lives for battle, instead of toys to play with we were trained how to use knives and spears, when we saw you fall from the sky we reacted negatively, that is true, we hunted you because of the threat we thought you posed to the villages that were nearest to your crash site"
Seren studied the man cautiously, she viewed him as nothing more than a child who was unable to control his anger, he lacked the discipline that all grounder children were used to. As a child Seren had been used to the rough handling from her father and the long sparring sessions with the other seconds. It was clear that the Sky People had grown up very differently to them. As he countered her argument her gaze narrowed "It may have been a betrayal to you, but it was a tactical move to avoid a battle that would claim countless lives, the boy called Finn, he slaughtered the children in that village as they fled, my village demanded justice, the Commander promised us justice and then we never got it, just as she promised us justice at the mountain and again, we never got it! That is... Until you and your people went in and wiped them out and I suppose I should thank you for that, for getting rid of the threat that they posed" she offered a slight shrug of her shoulders as if the deaths meant nothing to her before she placed a hand on the wall of the cave, letting out a small sigh that she could no longer hold in.
"The death of their leader would not have been enough to please my people, I know that it wouldn't have pleased me, they all had to die... All of them, every single one and only then would I be happy, only then would my people be content" she muttered, closing her eyes briefly "but you are lucky... My clan, they allowed you to live after you landed in our territory, if you had landed further north, in Azgeda territory I doubt you'd be alive today" a small smirk played upon the grounders lips now as she turned to him "Like it or not Bellamy, you are the enemy, there may be a truce in place but you have always been the enemy, my people do what they have to, to survive, that has always been our way, I appreciate what you did in the mountain more than most but my loyalties are to my people, to my clan... Helping you would be seen by many as a personal betrayal, my father certainly wouldn't stand for it, there may be a truce but our people are definitely not at peace"

The warrior waited until a figure emerged from the foliage. She was momentarily stunned at the appearance of a Mountain Man, she could tell that he was from the mountain, he was not wearing the appropriate clothing to be from any of the twelve grounder clans and he was far too clean to be a sky person even if he did look bedraggled and wasn't wearing one of those protective suits the mountain men usually wore on the rare occasions that they left their home.
Slowly Seren took her sword from its sheath, her dark eyes locked onto the man that had been unfortunate to cross her path as she rose cautiously to stand. Her guard was up as she scanned his body, ready to launch herself out of harms way if she needed to. She immediately noticed the gun on his shoulder, but it would take him a few precious seconds to get it in hand and Seren meant to take advantage of this. As he lifted his hands as if to signal his unthreatening position the grounder could not help but snigger. His claims would not help him, not here, not with her.
Cautiously she took a couple of steps towards the mountain man "You are not the enemy?" she asked him, the English language rolling fluidly off of her tongue. She rarely spoke the language but thought it best if her enemy knew of all the things she was going to do to him before the night was over. "Tell that to all of the people died inside your mountain, to me you are nothing but the enemy" taking another step as the words left her mouth, her free hand went to the knife at her waist. She was heavily armed, she might not have a gun or anything as advanced as that but it was evident that she was skilled with the weapons that she had.Noah Hendrix

Seren was walking through the forest, the Commander had sounded the retreat, taken the army away from the mountain. Needless to say, the warrior did not approve of her Heda's decision. She was loyal to the coalition, to her clan, but she did not approve. She wanted to go back, to kill every man, woman and child within that mountain. She did not care if some of them were innocent, they'd all tortured her people, accepted the rumoured treatment, none of them were innocent. She wanted them to feel how she felt, suffer as she had suffered. She'd been searching for years, searching for her lover who'd been taken by the reapers into the mountain. She'd watched as the prisoners had been allowed to leave, just after the Commander had halted the attack, Sae wasn't among them. She wasn't there, Seren had lost her forever and it was all because of the Mountain, she had failed to protect the girl she had loved and she'd have to live with that fact for the rest of her days.
The warrior was wearing her usual leather armour, the black war paint on her face had smeared slightly, but it still gave her the fearsome appearance that she had been aiming for. Her sword was in its usual place on her back, not that she was prepared to use it, the battle was behind her. Jus Drein Jus Daun, that was their way. Why then, had the Commander called off the attack, she wanted vengeance and she wasn't going to get it.
Suddenly, she froze. She'd definitely heard something, reaching for her sword, her dark eyes scanned the trees. Somebody might've been following her or maybe it was just an unsuspecting deer. No, this was the sound of two feet, not of the dainty hooves of a deer. Sinking into a crouch, her hand resting upon the hilt of her sword, she waited for whatever... Whoever it was to emerge. Seren momentarily froze as she studied the sky person, she appeared to have no knowledge of any events that had taken place since her people came to the ground, but that didn't mean that the warrior trusted her. She could be lying, feigning weakness in an attempt to overpower her once she decided to lower her guard. She would not be fooled by this child "yes, your kind! The people who fell from the sky, the ones that burnt an entire village to the ground within twelve days of their arrival" she spat, her grip tightening on the hilt of her sword, it was an intimidating weapon, one that was used to kill, not to injure.
As the Sky person held up a hand as if this was a peaceful gesture, it did nothing to calm the warriors nerves however as she took a step towards the girl. "Maybe I should take you to my leader, have her decide what is to be done with you" she muttered, as if thinking about the options that she had "or maybe I should kill you now... That's not really an option, your suffering would be far to brief to please me..." she took a hand and grabbed the girls face by the chin, examining the injuries she had sustained with a smirk. Believe it or not, she was one of the good ones... She didn't believe in killing unnecessarily, however the sky people had wronged her clan and they had to pay for the lives that they had taken.

"I cannot tell you where the cave is, for I do not know, but you are among a select few who know of its existence, not many would risk venturing this close to the mountain" she told him, knowing that even the bravest warriors tried to avoid the area. There was acid fog, reapers and of course mountain men and all three were a major threat to the clans existence. "The mountain men will fall, they are cowards, they think they are safe within their mountain but they do not know the lengths some of us will go to see them suffer"
"So you think the Heda should waste time trying to learn their motives? They burned a village to the ground, they've slaughtered more of our warriors than I care to count" she spat, glaring at him "they deserve to be punished, Heda shouldn't waste time talking to them when she could order her army to wipe them out, blood must have blood" the added threat of the Skaikru was concerning, especially since they seemed to have the same technology as the mountain men but that did little to deter Seren, she was determined that their enemies would fall, they didn't have the numbers to withstand an attack from the coalition.
As they finally approached the cave and sidestepped through the partially hidden entrance, Seren blinked a couple of times to allow her eyes to adjust to the darkness. "Mushrooms, got it" she muttered, not exactly sure how they were supposed to find them in the cave when it was so dark but she trusted his judgement. "Bats?" she questioned, raising her gaze as if expecting to spot the tiny black creatures but of course she couldn't see anything.

As she listened to his words she nodded "their weapons may be advanced, but there are more of us, we know this territory by heart, we know every tree, every stream, every rock and plant, we'll win this war Kinos" she told him, a fiery determination flashing in her eyes. They hadn't put up with the mountain men for all those years just to get wiped out by a group of children. That's what they were, the majority of the Skaikru were children, they didn't appear to have any discipline whatsoever and it was obvious that they had minimum combat training, if they had been given any at all.
"The Commander will not want to hear of their wishes surely? Not after they have wiped out so many of our warriors, done so much irreparable damage to our land" she did not know the Commander well, she only visited Tondc when there was trouble. There were rumours that she would be visiting soon, because of the Skaikru and the danger they posed.
As they walked on and Kinos confirmed that the name Abrus was okay to call the plant if she could not pronounce the whole name, she nodded along to his words, only half listening, half of her attention always directed on their surroundings, looking out for danger. "What do you hope to find in this cave? Is it worth the journey?" she fretted, not at all comfortable with being so close to the mountain.
