Mel
I'm not strong. Stubborn maybe.
Mel walked down the hall and out of the ark, half skipping and half jumping off the step from the ezit she used. While most where flat, and could be walked over or drove over with ease, not all of them were. She walked toward where they said their might one day be stables for a real horse. She'd never seen a real horse before, and exited to see one whenever they came.
Her steps slowed as she grew closer, becoming lighter and smaller. She held a closed plate of food, and looked around the open area. The grounder should be here. No. Lincoln. They were people and had names. She didn't want to be the type of person who didn't use names. Who grouped all people together. Yes, the grounders as a whole scared her down to her toes and was the main reason that she was standing still and slowly looking around right now--because she might be a little afriad of him. But she was still going to try to not be that way. "Hello?"

Mel
I'm not strong. Stubborn maybe.
One moment she was scared for her life, and the next . . . she was scared for both of their lives! "Alekay!" They were speaking in grounder and she picked up on a few words. She'd been learning some of it, but with how fast they spoke and how hard her heart was beating, she missed a lot as well. Alekay pushed her toward the wall and her hand reached for his, though she didn't hold it, only letting her fingers touch him. She knew he would need his hands. She'd rather die then make him die. And the sudden realization made everything happening ten times worst. She loved him. Really loved him. More then she had anyone before him. One where she'd do anything if it only meant he was alright. Swords were drawn, and she wanted to scream but was too afraid of distracting him. She wanted to close her eyes but was too afraid that if she took her eyes off him then she'd never see him again.
They fought, and Mel didn't miss that Alekay had not told him that his fight was over. That he had only told him he shouldn't have done this. He reached for her, and Mel nearly jumped to use both of her hands to hold his. Tightly. As they got to their room, Mel ran in, almost pulling him with her since she was too afraid to let him go. Since she tightly held one of his hands with both of her's, and his sword in the other, she made herself let him go so he could shut the door.
Once it was shut and sealed, Mel jumped at him. Wrapping her arms around his middle and burring her face into his chest. Her knew her body was shaking but she didn't care. She loved him. He saved her. He was safe too. For now. They couldn't stay in here for years, but they could for hours. As her breathing slowed she pulled her face from his chest and looked over him to make sure he wasn't bleeding anywhere. His chest, and arms, and finally she looked up at his face. "Mochof," she breathed.

I'm not strong. Stubborn maybe.
Over their time of getting to know each other, Mel had gone from trying to figure him out, to thinking him an ass, to thinking of him as a friend. One that made her feel more then friendly, but still a friend. While the wife thing used to really annoy her, mostly because she had felt like an idiot at first . . . now she kind of liked it. She'd die before admitting that to him though. So when he told her they were still married, Mel rolled her eyes and pushed slowly to stand. The room tilted slightly, but since she was moving slow it didn't make her stumble. After a few blinks everything sorted it's self out. "Alekay," she warned almost exasperatedly (even though she liked it when he teased her to call her wife, telling other people was taking it too far), but he kept going.
This was "their" room. For the next five years!? Mel stared at him, wanting to run at him and make him open it before pushing him out! WHAT!? "What have you done?" She asked slowly, not even bothering to ask if he was joking because she knew that with him you just knew--KNEW--he would do it. She wasn't sure what had happened, and nothing was making sense right now. Her head was starting to hurt from trying to sort it out and shake off the--"Was I drugged?" The gas. Someone had gassed everyone! Her hand lifted to touch her forehead. Something else was occaring to her too. He was in the bunker. He was in the bunker! That was really good but . . . how??

Everything was happening so far. First they were told to move into the bunker, and she assumed that it would stay open for now. Since there was room, she had also assumed that it would be open to more then just her people. However, before anyone could think about what was happening--the door was sealed! Mel wasn't sure why but her first thought wasn't toward the fact that she was now safe, or the fact that they'd just left part of their people to die, or even the fact that she'd not lived above the ground, on the ground, and below the ground--it was of Alekay. It hadn't lasted long though, before the door was opened again and . . . . nothing . . .
Blinking her eyes slowly, Mel almost thought she was on the Ark. The metal walls with no view. But there was no hum. No sound other then voices muffled from the thin walls. She couldn't hear what they were saying but there was a faint sound of people talking. Pushing to sit up slowly, her eyes found Alekey and for a moment she instantly smiled a little at seeing him alive.
Then the memories came back, and her bows bent slightly. "What happened?" she asked, not knowing how she got here. Last she knew she had been in the courtyard looking up to the podium when the gas came.

Most people didn't loose everything they had, but Mel had lost it twice. First when her station was wiped out and she was the only one left, and now when the Earth was wiped out and she was here. Under the ground. A place she wasn't even supposed to be, but Alekay had saved her.
She was out of their small room, and had been sitting reading a book in a quite area when suddenly there was feet. Stomping feet, and a few of them. Curious, but not alarmed, Mel looked up expecting the feet to pass by her little cubie. She was learning their language, and had been for a while, so she knew enough by this point to understand what they said as they stopped by her little hall and began yelling. They ran at her, and she only had time to jump as they grabbed her.
Apparently Skikru had once again taken the bunker--this time locking everyone but them out of the kitchen. AND she was skikru. It mattered little she was here, and not in there. She was Skikru. Mel pulled and them, and kicked but they were angry, and wanted blood. Right now she was the only way to get it. TAG: Alekay NOTE: Layout to come soon

Mel climbed into the cockpit and felt her heart beating so fast. Once Alekay was in too, she'd made sure he knew how to buckle before climbing into her own and . . . . they went to space. Earth was litterly on fire below them, and they'd gone back to the place she'd crashed down from. It also mad everything seem pointless. Almost. Reaching for his hand, she held it. Not pointless. While she'd not admitted to it yet, at least not out loud, Mel had gotten fond of the grounder who never shut up. She had told him they were going to the bunker, and asked him to go with her. For a chance. Only, now their chance was in space. Since neither of them had been in the bunker, it was more then they had had.
That had been a few hours ago. Once they finally docked, after a space walk from Raven, they'd struggled to get the air going. Then they had to open doors and get power. Heat. Monty was working on food. For now they only had time to wait. Years of waiting. Mel found Alekay at the window, looking down at the Earth. Walking up to stand beside him, Mel watched the Earth as it began changing colors from the heat that encased it. Looking up at him, she reached for his hand not sure that he would take it.
She'd lost her home when it crashed into Earth. She lost everyone in that sudden moment. She knew how he felt. TAG: Alekay NOTE: Layout to come soon

All the stars and all the planets in that moment aligned or something because by no small miracle he sat without making a fuss or a show about it. Mel moved closer, so that she was kneeling beside his legs, while pulling his shirt away to see if she could work around it. While she was he bit out the question asking if she wanted hi shirt off. "Yes to the first one. I need it out of the way. I think there is some wood in there and I need to pull the splinters out before I can bandage it."
Mel ignored the pants comment, mostly because while she was so close to him, she defiantly needed his pants--wait. Looking around she noticed they were very public. This wasn't the tent. Mel put her on serious face and looked up at him. "If you want to loose the pants, go ahead." Holding up the tweezers she pinched them at him in a silent warning about what she might do if he did.
There was so much rumble and death around them. Mel couldn't believe she'd just made a joke (even a dry one) while here. After all the death she'd seen she wondered why here in this moment she was able to. Looking up at Alekay's face while waiting for him to remove his shirt, she wondered if it was because that was how he was. TAG: Alekay NOTE: Layout to come soon

He thought she smelled him. . . . . . he. . . . . thought . . . . . she . . . . smelled . . . . him . . . . Was he an idiot or was the culture REALLY this different. He moved to smell--HE SMELLED HER! Mel--who was very aware that he could say smelled but not Mel--moved away from him, and stared at him for a second before moving to bury her face in her hands. This was not a good job. She wanted to quit. The half naked grounder man had just smelled her. Please let her not stink! She wasn't even sure why she cared that he thought she smelled nice, but if he thought she stinked then this was just going to be a worse day.
She felt the heat of him as she got closer--a lot closer. PLEASE be dressed. She glanced over, and thanked the stars he was. Turning her face back to her hands she heard him say you! and didn't even have to look up to know he was writing int he damn air again.
Go?! Go?! Looking up at him in annoyance for a moment she had to close her eyes and take a deep breath. Fine! Turning to look at the map she pointed to a river. Then looked at him and raised her eye brows back at him, and waiting for him to say something. THEN out of fear he would say map, she spoke. "river." TAG: Alekay NOTE: Layout to come soon

She wasn't falling for his dumb assery again. "You know damn well what first aid is," she said, reaching out to thump him in the chest with her hand. It wasn't hard but she knew since he was injured t would hurt a bit. In her surprise at seeing him here, and hurt she'd forgotten she had to be on her toes with him. Pulling out some antibacterial cream and a bandage that would stick to the wound without needing to be wrapped around him. She also pulled some tweezers so she could make sure nothing was in the wound.
"You sit. Me first aid." The phrases were short and broken on purpose, even while her tone was condescending. Since that was how he had pretended to be in their first meeting. Kneeling down neck to the rock she told him to sit on, Mel waited for him to be sitting before she looked up and spoke again. "Are you hurt anywhere else?" She asked, moving to pull the clothes he was wearing out of the way a bit. TAG: Alekay NOTE: Layout to come soon

Now what? He was Mel? No! Ugh! How did he think that was what she was calling him? Mel's brows bent together while she tried to think of a way to back track, when he took off his vest thing. She was too surprised and confused by what he did to move at first. Then he took off his shirt. "Shit, what?" He was Mel?? OH! MALE! OOOOHHHHH! NO! OH NO! NO NO!
HE WAS GETTING NAKED! Mel looked at the tent door and then at him! "Stop!" She hissed, but then he put his hands on his pants and asked to see more! Jumping toward him she wrapped her hands around his wrist to pull them away from his pants. Jumping forward also meant her nose almost bumped into his chest as she came face to chest for a slow second, before looking up at his face. Taking a deep breath she slowly let his wrist go finger by finger, and then slowly stepped back. He looked scarier naked. And better int he same moment. Moving to quickly grab his shirt she threw it at him. "On!" She demanded, in a sharp tone, before walking to the map and keeping her back to him. Damn it!
"Look!" She said, using the word he had and pointed at the map. "Look! Map!" Her tone said she was slightly frastled and maybe a little upset. TAG: Alekay NOTE: Layout to come soon

While waiting for them to answer she heard another voice. "Alekay!" She exclaimed, surprised to hear his voice here. She wasn't even sure why she was surprised other then that she hadn't seen him since he had pretended to be an idiot (or didn't pretend and really was) at camp Jaha. He came into view and she pulled her bag higher on her shoulder and walked quickly toward him. She knew his words had been snide remarks but Mel ignored them. Not even to be rude or because they were rude but because her brain was still surprised to see him. She'd lie if she'd said she hadn't thought about him. Both because he embarrassed the hell out of her, and because she had actually enjoyed that time in the tent with him for a bit.
"You're hurt!" His chest was covered in blood and she could see the gash there. "You're bleeding everywhere!" Or had been as a lot of looked like it was slowed and seeping out more then gushing blood. She knew it was stupid to be surprised that he was here and hurt. He was right, everyone here was hurt. She was more . . . . worried about him. In and odd way, and hadn't picked up on his words while she was picking up on his injury. "I know some first aid. Let me bandage that for you." Reaching into her bag she began to look for what she needed. TAG: Alekay NOTE: Layout to come soon

He said her name, and Mel smiled. Good, that was easy! Now she just needed his name and they could--wait. No, no! "Not meal," she said, shaking her head and then pretending to eat before shaking her hand again, this time moving her hands side to side to gesture as no. "Mel," This time she stressed the E to help him hear it, but didn't drag out her name. "Your name?" She asked, trying to keep her phrases small.
He then pointed her her, saying you, and pretended to write. Yes! She smiled and nodded, agreeing with him or letting him know he was write. Then he said me, and pointed to himself, to which she still kept nodding along. THEN he said he would use his tongue. What? On her! What what? Mel's eyes widened in surprise and she stood there for a moment. She had to remind herself he didn't speak her language. Tongue was once used to mean languages. Alright. He would use his language on her. huh.
Her eyes moved to his lips for a second before she looked back up at his eyes and had to fight both a smile and a blush--and she really hoped he didn't notice either! The last thing she needed to do was insult the slightly scary grounder man. "You will use your words, yes!" Point to the map she tried to figure out how to begin. "This is our map." They had already been in route, which was why her small group had gotten there so quickly. Mel had been with about 3 others, and had been going to take some equipment to TonDC when the ground shook. They were still hours away, and by the time they had gotten there it was almost dawn. Apparently there had been fighting afterwards, but they'd missed that. Thank the stars.
Walking into what might have once been a town or city, and seeing only rumble and destruction made her once again think of how awful the ground was. Beautiful, but awful in a way too. So much fighting and death. They said once the mountain fell it would be over. The idea of it being over was hard, but she lived for the idea right now.
Mel wasn't a doctor, but she knew basic first aid. She couldn't handle the sick but injuries she could do as long as they weren't serious. So that was what she did. For hours it felt like. Hearing some of the grounders talking she looked over at them, but by their tone knew they weren't saying anything welcoming. Not surprising. Mel didn't even blame them for not wanting them around. Not that it changed anything--they were here now. "Is anyone over there hurt?" She asked, trying to make herself useful. She didn't recognize them, but she didn't know many here. Or any here, really.
