Things were utter chaos. They had found the bunker, only to be locked out of it by Skaikru, only for them to be . . . gassed out, apparently. It was all enough to make Alekay still doubtful of the outcome. As if the turn of events hadn't been shocking enough, he was selected. Selected to go in the bunker. Truth be told, he never thought he would be given that chance. He had defected, Formed a rogue army to overthrow the once Heda. But, they needed warriors. They needed at least a few strong fighters. Thus, Alekay was chosen. Had he had any family left, he would have advocated for them. Had his friends not been chosen as well, he would have tried to convince someone. Not all of them of course, but a few. Saying good bye to those who were not was beyond awkward. Some were trying to fight their way in, others had accepted their fate.[break][break]
Alekay was making his way to the entrance as he watched the others haul Skaikru out. He wouldn't have thought much of it, had he not suddenly saw an all too familiar unconscious person. He paused in his tracks, realizing . . . she had not been among the chosen. He could just walk away and let Skaikru do their thing as he minded his business. But, he somehow couldn't just walk away. Instead, he walked towards the body. She was alive at least. He glanced around him, before looking back at the woman. Taking a deep breath, he scooped her up in his arms, confidently making his way to the entrance. He was of course stopped, but he explained that this was his wife. And he might have taken it a step further but she didn't need to know the details.[break][break]
Once inside, everyone was appointed a room. Fortunately, they had their own -- as most 'married' couples did. He put her on the bed before standing at the thresshold of the door, watching the hustle and bustle of the hallways. He was not going to be there for the grand action of closing the bunker doors. It was a bittersweet feeling. To say goodbye to all they knew, so many people they knew. To now lived in such a confined space. But Alekay was not going to let the deeper thoughts effect his mood. He was just waiting for Mel to wake up so that he could fill her in on their cover . . . and explain why they would be sharing a room for the next five years.
