Monty waited for Baron to get done examining his ID and he liked to think that he was patient about it but he couldn't stop fidgeting. He knew that by now Jasper would be wondering where he was, but he didn't want to arouse further suspicion by trying to rush the councilman. He took the ID back once it had been offered to him and slipped it into his pocket "a lot of the guards don't care if you're innocent when they stop you" he said, glancing around as if afraid of being overheard. The guards could be intimidating even if you had nothing to hide and when you had everything to hide, stopping upon request was not an option unless you wanted to be imprisoned and executed. "I mean, you saw him! He was going to shock me or something!" which in Monty's expert opinion didn't seem like heaps of fun.
"If you hadn't been here, I wouldn't have ran into you and he would never have caught me" the words left his mouth before he could stop them, but he believed them to be true. The guard had been hot on his heels, but if he hadn't ran into Baron, Monty was sure that he'd have been able to give him the slip eventually. "But I'll be more careful in future" careful to avoid rousing suspicion from the guards, because the last thing he wanted was to be caught with something that he shouldn't have. "Yeah well, if you give someone the power to brutalize people then they're going to abuse that power" he told Baron almost harshly. The guard who'd threatened him had been prepared to use force to subdue him, force that obviously wasn't necessary on a boy of Monty's size and stature.
"Stealing" Monty answered immediately when prompted by Baron "I guess he thought I'd been stealing drugs or something from the pharmacy, but my parents work in the pharmacy, I wasn't stealing" he told him, careful to spin a story that was at least possible and would be hard to disprove if they looked into it. "Do you need anything else, I've got places to be" places he should have been fifteen minutes ago, people who were waiting on him.Baron Tseng

Earth had never treated them fairly, but Monty had missed it while he'd been stuck up in space for a further six years. Not the challenges of surviving on the hostile planet, but the colours and the way it overwhelmed his senses after spending far too long in a space station that wasn't exactly designed to stimulate the mind. However, the one thing he missed the most during those six years was the people he'd left behind. He'd had a few of his friends up on the Ark that he knew that he didn't have to worry about, but so many more had been left behind on earth with no way for him to know if they were alright. The moment they'd arrived back on Earth, Monty's main mission was to discover if his friends were okay- which friends had survived the six years apart, if any had at all.
Walking along the halls of the bunker, it was hard for him to find his way around, the unfamiliar surroundings disorienting him but it was something he needed to do. So far he'd at least caught a glimpse of everyone he needed to, to put his mind at ease- all but one. When they'd first met, Monty had been initially distrustful of Baron, but over time that distrust had given way and dissolved into affection until Monty could confidently call the man his friend. Right now, he was a friend that Monty couldn't seem to locate, it filled him with anxiety and so far no one had been able to point him in the right direction. Six years was a long time and Monty was already aware that the number of people that were in the bunker had dropped significantly, it was entirely possible that his friend wouldn't be there.
Just as the thought entered his mind, Monty felt himself collide with another person, almost losing his balance until a pair of hands steadied him. He was just about to utter an apology when he looked up and his eyes locked with Baron's for the briefest of moments before he was pulled into a hug. For a second, Monty didn't react to the gesture- freezing with surprise but once the shock of literally running into the man yet again had left him, he found his own arms wrapping around the other man's back. "You're okay" he muttered, trying to keep the emotion out of his voice as he hugged Baron, beyond relieved to discover that he hadn't lost another friend during the six years they'd been separated.Baron Tseng

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were doing it on purpose" Monty teased, completely disregarding the fact that at least one of their collisions had been entirely his fault. Still, seeing a friendly face was a relief, a pleasant change from what he had been receiving from Jasper in recent days. This time their meeting wasn't plagued with the worry that he was about to be charged with a crime, unless wandering the halls was illegal now, maybe he ought to get a copy of the rulebook, just to make sure. "Good, because I seem to have misplaced it" he replied to Baron's playful comment about his ID, that thing had been lost long ago- taken from him once he'd been locked up in the skybox, he didn't need it when he was expected to be floated as soon as he turned eighteen. Monty didn't realise how much he'd missed having such a casual conversation with someone until he realised the grin he had on his face, which disappeared the moment he realised it was there.
When Baron asked him if he wanted some company, Monty hesitated to accept- because although he didn't want to be alone to possibly lie awake for several more hours alone, he didn't want anyone to think that he was lonely. However, he relaxed a little when Baron followed up by stating that he could use some company "well, I guess..." he muttered hesitantly "I wouldn't mind some company" but only because Baron wanted some, it would be rude of him to deny the man when he'd only ever helped him. He would only spend a few more hours lying in bed awake if he refused him anyway and he'd do anything to avoid that. A lot had happened since they'd last spoke, at least they wouldn't be short of materiel to talk abut. Baron Tseng

Lying awake in bed, sleep continued to evade Monty as he lay on his back and stared up at the ceiling. He must've been lying there for at least a couple of hours, tossing and turning and praying that at any moment he'd pass out and escape the nightmare that was his reality. Every time he closed his eyes though, he saw the bodies of those that had died in Mount Weather, died because of a decision he'd made. He hadn't pulled the lever but he'd enabled Bellamy and Clarke to do it and in his mind, he'd killed those people too... He'd enabled it to happen. Usually when he had trouble sleeping, he'd seek out Jasper and the pair of them would sit up for hours talking until one or both of them passed out, but that wasn't an option for him at that moment. Jasper hadn't spoken to him since they'd left Mount Weather, something Monty was almost grateful for, because he was sure that Jasper wouldn't have a kind word to say about him right now- but Monty missed his brother and the radio silence was killing him almost as quickly as the sleep deprivation.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, Monty slipped out of bed, giving up on trying to find sleep on his own. Maybe if he walked down to medical, they'd give him something to help him sleep, he wasn't holding out hope for it, but maybe the walk would be enough to help him sleep anyway. Shrugging on a jacket to protect himself from the cold, he headed for the door- sure that he wouldn't come across anyone, no one else seemed stupid enough to be up at such a late hour unless you counted the guards- Monty didn't. Quietly, he slipped from his room and turned to hurry in the direction of medical, but before he'd gone more than a couple of paces he unexpectedly collided with another body. Grunting in surprise, he opened his mouth to utter an apology but before the words could leave his mouth, his eyes focussed on who he'd collided with and all that left him was a sigh of disbelief. "We've got to stop meeting like this" he told Baron, almost managing a smile. He took a step backwards to distance himself from the man "can't sleep either?" he asked him, wondering why anyone would be up so late by choice. Baron Tseng

"I know who you are" Monty said almost immediately after Baron introduced himself, it was the reason why Monty had initially been so distrustful of him. It was hard for him to trust anyone on the council, what had they done for him besides lock up his friends and float their parents. His words were dismissive, not the respectful tone he should have when speaking to a member of the council. When asked for his ID, Monty's hand went immediately to his back pocket- glad that he'd remembered it that day before offering it to the man "Well, seeing as you said please" he answered a hint of sarcasm in his voice now. He knew that he shouldn't be rude, especially given the mans position and the apparent kindness that he'd shown him already by deterring the guard from using unreasonable force against him, but the words just sort of slipped out before he could stop them.
Monty hadn't thought about the possibility of being questioned further on the events that had led up to their meeting. Was he supposed to think of a believable story every time he broke the rules? That was exhausting. "Well, you see... That's a funny story" he laughed, trying to buy himself a little time to spin a story that he knew would be half-assed at best. "You see, I was running- Gotta get that exercise in somehow and that guy, he stops me and accuses me of stealing! Can you believe that?" he paused for dramatic effect and to make sure that Baron was still listening "I tried explaining that just because I was running, it didn't mean I was guilty of anything, but he wouldn't listen, I got scared and I ran- you can hardly blame me!" as expected, his story was poorly thought out and was hardly believable, but at such short notice it was the best he could do. It would just have to be good enough to get him off the hook for now. Baron Tseng

"Are you ok?" Monty's brow furrowed at the inquiry, surprised that Mr Tseng's first reaction would be to check up on him, especially considering the circumstances upon which they'd just met. "Er... Yeah, I'm good" he said almost hesitantly, taking his hands cautiously out of his pockets as he straightened up and eyed the two men cautiously. Knowing the day he was having, he was about to be arrested for assaulting a member of the council as well as for the theft he'd committed- Way to make your parents proud Monty, he thought to himself, resisting the urge to roll his eyes, somehow he figured that might be misinterpreted in the current situation. The moment the guard pulled out his shock lasher, Monty took a nervous step back, not eager to have that thing anywhere near him but Mr Tseng once again surprised him when he stepped between him and the guard, effectively shielding him from any harm the guard may wish to inflict upon him. When the question on whether there was reason to arrest him came up, Monty wanted to speak up and say no, insist that he was just a law-abiding citizen in the wrong place at the wrong time but he guessed that no one would buy that excuse.
Monty watched the exchange between the councilman and the guard with suspicion, wondering when they'd both turn on him and drag him off to the skybox, or maybe the crime of charging headfirst into a member of the council was severe enough to warrant floating him right then and there. He thought briefly of making a run for it, but ditched that idea almost as soon as it had entered his mind, it would just erase all doubt in their minds that he was guilty. "I'll handle this." Monty swallowed nervously, taking another step back as he heard the words spoken. How exactly did he plan to handle it? Make him disappear? He doubted he'd be the first. However, as he continued to watch, the guard put away the shock lasher and left, an action that instantly caused Monty to relax a little- he definitely didn't feel like he was out of the woods yet but he had one less problem to worry about. The other was still there and had just turned to look at him. "Monty... Monty Green" he answered the councilman still eyeing him suspiciously as he tried to figure out what cruelty was about to be inflicted upon him. "Sorry about running into you like that" he apologised, perhaps hoping that trying to be polite would buy him a relaxed punishment or maybe get him off the hook completely "that guard, he completely misunderstood!" of course, because there was a totally legitimate reason why he'd be running from a guard.

Random Line Generator Chose: "Am I under arrest, or not?" It wasn't often that Monty could say that he got into trouble, as far as his parents knew, he was a model citizen, aware of what might happen if he broke the law. However what his parents didn't know was that he and Jasper had started taking some of the herbs from farm station for their own personal recreational use. Technically they weren't supposed to steal herbs from the stores for their own personal use, but they never thought that they'd get caught, they were careful and always made sure to replace what they took and they always waited a few weeks before they took any again. This time when Monty had gone to take them, he was confronted by a guard on his way out who insisted that he turn out his pockets- seeing as he had a stash of contraband in his pockets, Monty was less than willing and his mind went blank with panic, the only thing that he could do was run. So he ran.
Sprinting away from the guard and aware of how painfully guilty it made him look, Monty's only concern was evading capture. He could hear the heavy footsteps of the guard pursuing him and that just gave him motivation to keep him moving, despite the burning in his lungs from the physical exertion and he didn't dare look over his shoulder, sure that if he did then he'd slow enough for the guard to catch him. Rounding a corner, Monty was so focussed on outrunning his pursuer that he didn't see the man walking down the hall towards him until it was too late and he was almost on top of him and unfortunately, the man was someone Monty recognised and not someone that he wanted to be standing between him and the only route of escape from the guard behind him. Skidding to a halt, he stood trapped between a member of the council and a rather agitated guard, looking between the two he tried to think of a way out of his predicament "So... Am I under arrest, or not?" he asked, shoving his hands inside his pockets as if he was afraid that one of them might catch a glimpse of what he was hiding within them. Baron Tseng

Random Number Generator Picked: 8. My muse is surrounded by thugs up to no good and yours happens upon this. Monty walked along the darkened street, it was later than he'd anticipated but the late hour didn't concern him, living in the area the streets were familiar to him. If he'd been paying attention, maybe he'd have noticed the group of men approaching from behind him, but instead his eyes were trained on his phone, focussed on tapping out a text to his mother, telling her that he'd be home soon. He only glanced up once briefly when the men began to pass him, but his gaze quickly returned to his screen- until one of the men practically ran into his shoulder as he tried to pass him. The phone slipped from Monty's grip and it was impossible for him to catch it again before it clattered onto the pavement "hey!" he called after the group on impulse, massaging his sore shoulder before crouching to pick up his damaged phone. He reached for it but it was promptly kicked away from him, making the teenager flinch away in surprise- he looked up and saw that the group had doubled back to confront him- probably because of his earlier outburst.
Hesitantly, he got to his feet and glanced around at the group- all four of them appeared to be at least a couple of years older than he was although he didn't recognise any of them. It took only a second for Monty to decide that this was not a safe situation for him to be in and, forgetting about his discarded phone, he tried to walk around them, hoping that they'd let him go without issue. Unfortunately, he wasn't that lucky- he had only taken a couple of steps forward when he was shoved backwards with so much force that he stumbled and almost ended up on the floor again. "Please, I don't want any trouble" he told them, taking a step back as if to retreat back the way he'd come but he was shoved forwards from behind, two of the group having circled around behind him to block his escape.
His heart was beating rapidly in his chest by his point, realising that he was actually in very real danger and needed to remove himself from the situation as soon as possible. Suddenly, he felt a pair of strong hands grab him and wrenched his arms behind his back "get off!" he yelled, struggling to free himself but he was held fast. The sound of approaching footsteps echoed along the street, making Monty hope that whoever was passing by had the sense to realise that he needed help. The footsteps grew closer and it wasn't long before Monty caught a glimpse of who it was and he allowed himself a breath of relief as he recognised who it was "Bellamy?" he called, hoping that he hadn't mistaken the identity of the passer-by. Bellamy Blake ooc: Hope this is okay, just let me know if you want me to change anything c:

The people around him were bruised and battered, that was the first thing Monty noticed when he stepped off of the rover and there were a number of dead that he tried not to focus on. Earth seemed not to have changed as much as he'd originally thought. The next thing that drew his eye was a number of familiar faces, some of whom he hadn't seen in six years. One man in particular stood out to Monty, he was one of the original 100 who'd been sent to the ground, he'd been with him in Mt Weather, experienced what he'd experienced and been with him through it all. A smile made its way onto Monty's face as he walked across the sand, approaching the friend that he hadn't seen in six years. Monty hadn't even been sure that any of their friends in the bunker would still be waiting for them after six years, but he was beyond happy to see him
As Monty approached Miller, the other man drew him into a hug which he welcomed gladly, wrapping his arms around his friends back as he embraced him. "It's good to see you too" he told him, years spent up in space watching a planet that looked dead, it was hard to imagine any of his friends could be alive on the ground. "You got old" he joked as he pulled out of the hug so that he could look at his friends face. They had a lot to catch up on, a lot had obviously changed in the six years that he'd been stuck in space with the others.
