Larkin wasn't necessarily the greatest empath face to face, but it seemed like he, like many people, struggled with his current position. She couldn't blame him one bit. She, herself, was still struggling with what happened during the culling. It left her with a parent less and then the crash with an adoptive "sibling" she didn't exactly expect. She had a hard time considering the kid a sibling, actually, due to the age difference, but she was okay with him, liked him even and he was good for the family, he made the healing a bit easier. So Larkin knew earth could be hard on people. Apparently in his case, it was.
"I have been told you wanted to fix the radio station on a... secure frequence thing." Without an invitation she plopped down on his desk, making a bit of room there by gently wiggling her ass, careful not to damage something while doing that. "You know, I find it a rather good idea. I wanted to get our of that, but looking at it now, I think it's a great idea. People here, like you and me, we've ripped out of out status quo and this new one is scary to say the least. I think something familiar might be great. So if you'd set it up, I would step up again."

"In that case, Larkin is fine, too." She was pretty sure half of the people down here called her by her first name due to the radio anyway, not that many even knew her face or the general look of her. Not that she necessarily cared. There was something empowering about not everyone knowing her face. It was the potential of leaving her past behind and going about it in a new way. She still ahd her goal, now more than ever. Larkin knew things had been difficult, but that the unelected chancelor and - which ever that was now - was once more at power was something she disliked. They made decisions that were not good for them. She, for one, lost all trust in them.
"I must warn you." She began. "I have no experiences in fighting yet. I have the theoretical knowledge, but so far my physical fighting was none existant." The others were trying, without having proper instructions, but Larkin knew that that was potentially dangerous, so she wanted to wait for their instructor. "I heard many things of you, Bellamy. Is it true you were with the 100 and protected them?"

She had heard through the grapevine how people wanted to put up the radio station again, with a secure frequency of course, given that they weren't the last survivors of humanity after all. One of the former hosts had always claimed that and had been declared mad. Well, while she knew he was mad, for other reasons, it seemed luck had struck and he was right about that. As the only surviving host - so far, there might have been some on the other stations with which they didn't have contact with yet - she made her way to the engineer that apparently took to the task.
Larkin stayed in the door for a moment, looking at him work. She always found people who could do something like that fascinating. They could make so much, life giving things from basically nothing. And in this case, what he meant to do was to better his peoples life through something simple, seemingly insignificant. It was a great idea. "Hey." She began. "Heard you wanted to fix the station."

Part of her was still surprised she managed to get through with it. Then again, she had learned she could be quite persuasive, if she wanted something and her arguments were solid, she knew that. She wanted someone who could hold his own, someone who would put his people first. Hence why she asked - no insisted - on Bellamy Blake being her instructor. And some of the younger cadets parents had insisted on the same. So they were a small group, ready to be taught how to fight, however basic it would be, since none of them were really experienced with any moving beyond the basic step after step, preferably without falling flat on your face - something that sometimes was still a struggle for Larkin, given her long and thin limbs.
She sat on the ground as the others were already playfully trying some moves they had seen with other guards. Larkins nose was buried in a book, though a digital one on the Ark issued tablet that miraculously survived the crash landing of a giant space ship. It had a book about martial arts on it, since she wanted to know what to do, what to look for. She didn't want to be fully unprepared, though she knew, he could probably break her in half if he wanted to. She didn't expect him to want to.
Larkin looked up as the door open, revealing their instructor and with that superior. Unlike the others she got up and held out her hand for him. "Mr. Blake. I'm Larkin Jones, one of your new students.... or well cadets."

| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ | .:Birthplace:. Farm Station .:Family:. Mother: Mara Jones; Father: Kyle Jones; .:Occupation:. Used to be a student .:History:. Larkin was born into a humble and hard working family. Her parents always taught her, from a young age on, that nothing came for free, that if she wanted to change something about her life and about the situation of all her people she had to be the change she wanted to see and that she took to heart. At a young age she started to get interested in the rules and politics of the Ark, finding them harsh and unfair. She wanted to one day make them fairer, but she knew it would be a long way until then. For the beginning she comforted herself in doing the best she could do in bettering her own lot in life. She studied hard, hoping to get the opportunity to get a good job and go from there. But things fell apart just before she turned 16. Her mother fell ill. And there was nothing that could be done to save her. It was a short and violent sickness, resulting in her death. Some others had it, too, that year. Some died. Larkin felt great grief. She went to school and back home, cared for the household while her father worked. Until one unfortunate day. She was just going back from school, when one of the guards turned to her with harsh comments. Larkin made the mistake of talking to him, telling him to leave her alone. It apparently prompted him to do the exact opposite. To her horror he became increasingly more agressive. Larkin didn't just let him. She tried to defend herself. She tried to push him off. She even managed to push him off, sadly timing and placing were unfortunate: She pushed him to the wall, where a small spike got embedded in his skull, killing him instantly. She screamed in horror, alerting everyone to her and the situation. Larkin sunk to the floor, pulling her legs to her chest. She didn't even resist when they seized her. She got put in isolation. Larkin awaited trial there. But the thing was: She didn't expect to be released. They spoke of murder. And she knew there was not much she could do, not even in trial. To her surprise instead of facing trial she got sent to the ground with other kids. They were disposable and had to see if the ground was save. It was and it wasn't at the same time. She was one of the kids captures in Mount Weather, kept herself in the background. She didn't really interact, but didn't fully retreat herself either. As the Ark crashed, Larkin had to believe her father was dead. Turned out he wasn't. When Farm was found, she was overjoyed to reunite with him. That was until Mount Weather happened. Now, due to having been one of the 100, she was one of the only surviving members of farm station.
