Part of her was still surprised she managed to get through with it. Then again, she had learned she could be quite persuasive, if she wanted something and her arguments were solid, she knew that. She wanted someone who could hold his own, someone who would put his people first. Hence why she asked - no insisted - on Bellamy Blake being her instructor. And some of the younger cadets parents had insisted on the same. So they were a small group, ready to be taught how to fight, however basic it would be, since none of them were really experienced with any moving beyond the basic step after step, preferably without falling flat on your face - something that sometimes was still a struggle for Larkin, given her long and thin limbs.
She sat on the ground as the others were already playfully trying some moves they had seen with other guards. Larkins nose was buried in a book, though a digital one on the Ark issued tablet that miraculously survived the crash landing of a giant space ship. It had a book about martial arts on it, since she wanted to know what to do, what to look for. She didn't want to be fully unprepared, though she knew, he could probably break her in half if he wanted to. She didn't expect him to want to.
Larkin looked up as the door open, revealing their instructor and with that superior. Unlike the others she got up and held out her hand for him. "Mr. Blake. I'm Larkin Jones, one of your new students.... or well cadets."

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Recovery. That was perhaps the best way to sum up what everyone was going through right now. Just as they had with Mount Weather. But now, it was for entirely different purposes. Once again, they had lost so many . . . and as always, they continued to move forward. As always, Bellamy set his feelings aside for the betterment of Arkadia. Though the place wasn't feeling as much of a home as it did several weeks before. It felt, colder. In a strange, inexplicable way. Perhaps it had to do with Octavia, or the lost trust among some of the people that he had once thought himself so close to. Whatever it was, he could not dwell. He had to set his feelings aside, as he always did.
Training would be starting soon, and right now, Bellamy was making his way to the new recruits. He wasn't sure what his position was at Arkadia any more, but what he did know was that he was still someone who could teach others how to defend themselves. How to protect themselves and the others. That, had to count for something. He wanted to share what knowledge and skills he could, for the more they trained . . . the more people they would have to protect the Arkers. It seemed the Grounders would forever be a threat, and they needed to be prepared for whatever came their way.
Upon entering, one particular woman approached him, extending her hand and introducing herself. Bellamy's eyes fell to her extended arm, pausing before raising his own to shake her hand. "Cadet Jones," he acknowledged, as that was what they were. Yet, the title seemed so informal. The program had been expedited compared to what it was on the Ark. She would be a guardswoman in no time. "Welcome to training," he added on, no smile in sight, though no coldness in his voice either. He lowered his hand back to his side, his eyes moving over the crowd that was in the room. "And Bellamy is fine." Mr. Blake. He didn't exactly deserve any sort of formality. He felt his position here was too . . . undefined.

"In that case, Larkin is fine, too." She was pretty sure half of the people down here called her by her first name due to the radio anyway, not that many even knew her face or the general look of her. Not that she necessarily cared. There was something empowering about not everyone knowing her face. It was the potential of leaving her past behind and going about it in a new way. She still ahd her goal, now more than ever. Larkin knew things had been difficult, but that the unelected chancelor and - which ever that was now - was once more at power was something she disliked. They made decisions that were not good for them. She, for one, lost all trust in them.
"I must warn you." She began. "I have no experiences in fighting yet. I have the theoretical knowledge, but so far my physical fighting was none existant." The others were trying, without having proper instructions, but Larkin knew that that was potentially dangerous, so she wanted to wait for their instructor. "I heard many things of you, Bellamy. Is it true you were with the 100 and protected them?"
