Jacapo ideally liked a job where he didn't have to worry about getting electrocuted, of course given how hands on his job was, there was always an element of risk. Luckily, he'd never experienced any severe injuries in the workplace... Yet. Still, he liked to play it safe, never wanting to risk an unnecessary injury. Alex seemed used to working with more risks than he was and he couldn't fault him for that, it was necessary in his line of work, Jacapo would've just preferred a warning before receiving an electric shock. The man stopped what he was doing to watch Alex work when he seemed to wave off his concerns so casually. "That may be, but you never know... What starts out as a cough could develop into something more serious" he told him, he didn't like to see anybody not taking their health seriously and if somebody caught something serious, it could spread through Arkadia rapidly given how close they were all living to each other. "They'll have a harder time keeping us alive if they have to deal with an outbreak of some mystery sickness too" he muttered, turning back to the job at hand so that he couldn't be accused of slacking. He'd never been one to get distracted when he had a job to do... But the situation on Earth was quite different than it was on the ark and because of this, it wasn't as easy to keep focus. "Er..." Jacapo looked up once again as Alex continued speaking to him, trying to keep his focus on the task at hand "I guess... I'm just overseeing the repairs because I'm one of the most experienced people down here" there were others who were as capable as him, but they hadn't made it and so the responsibility had been left to him. He'd been the chief of engineering back on the ark, so it wasn't like he didn't have the qualifications, he'd been responsible for a larger workforce whilst on the ark, but it still felt different than what he was used to. Alex Horanooc: Sorry if this is a bit all over the place, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.

Although Sinclair didn’t appreciate the idea of getting shocked every time he had to work with Alex, he could appreciate that it was the way that he preferred to work and was what he was used to. “Oh, yeah… Ideally you don’t want to kill everyone” Jacapo agreed, that was the opposite of what they wanted to do whenever they were doing repairs or maintenance checks. He looked at Alex in surprise as he told him of the time where he once had to fix a live generator “A live generator?” he asked, looking for clarification “I’ll bet it was” he definitely didn’t envy the other man having to do that.“I guess I’ll just be more careful next time I have to work with you” Sinclair chuckled knowing that they probably would have to work together many times in the future and he didn’t want to get a shock each time they did. If that happened he felt like some people might get too much amusement out of it and he thought that it could probably become embarrassing for him after a while. “Bad cough” he observed “you should watch that” it was none of his business really, but the last thing anyone needed was for people to start getting sick. With limited medical supplies and everything else that they currently had to worry about, they really couldn’t deal with an epidemic. It was just a cough, probably nothing, but Sinclair worried about people, especially those that he had to work with, it was natural to him.Alex Horan

Sinclair could acknowledge that he probably wasn’t the funnest person to be around, his idea of fun was probably a lot different from what people usually considered ‘fun’. That didn’t bother him too much though, other people were entitled to spend their free time as they wished just as he was. “Talking to yourself can be fun, can’t it?” he asked her, smiling as he remembered all the times he’d been forced to talk to himself when he was working and lacked better company. Sometimes he talked to himself just because he could, it could be reassuring to hear a voice instead of just silence, even if it was his own.
He considered her words, taking a moment to weigh up the possible pros and cons of accepting the challenge. It could definitely be fun and they were both adults capable of knowing their limits and controlling the situation. Finally he nodded “sure, I’ll accept your challenge” he told her, still a little apprehensive about the agreement. “What could go wrong?” there wasn’t much that could go wrong.. At least he hadn’t been able to think of something that might present a problem to them. They were responsible adults capable of having a drink together, even if they did turn it into a little competition.Larkin Jones

Sinclair nodded at Kane’s words, knowing that it was true that this was more important than anything else Wick could be doing at that moment. If he failed to determine which stations would make it down to Earth then it was a real possibility that none of them would see the ground, the odds weren’t great but Sinclair was determined to give everyone on the ark the best possible chance at surviving. “I can do this… I just need a little more time” he muttered, not entirely sure if he was talking to the other man or if he was just trying to persuade himself that he was capable of completing the seemingly impossible task.
The man listened intently to what Marcus was saying and a small smile appeared on his face as he listened, despite the circumstances. Nobody had ever really seen Earth as a realistic possibility, it had always been something that people dreamed about but knew that they’d never really get to see it. Survival on Earth hadn’t been something that had been thought possible until recently and now they were actually trying to find a way to safely get everyone to the ground. “With all due respect sir, I’m glad you were wrong too” he told Kane after hearing the other man voice his concerns. Killing their own people was something that nobody had ever wanted to resort to, but it had been necessary to buy them a little more time and to ensure the survival of the rest of their people. Providing he figured out which stations would survive the journey, those that were sacrificed in the culling would have helped ensure that they survived long enough to give them a fighting chance.Marcus Kane

"I know how to have fun" Sinclair told her defensively without actually answering her question, her idea of fun was probably very different to his and he was completely prepared for her to tease him if he disclosed what his idea of fun was. He found working fun, that wasn't what he did for fun... If it was then all he'd ever do was work, he had a wife who would be less than pleased if he never stopped working, he worked enough as it was. "When I do have time off work I try to spend time with my wife, if she's working then I look for other things to do" there wasn't often a lot of things that he could do, his wife was the one that knew how to have fun or at least make the most of a day off. When Jacapo had a day off he often didn't know what to do with so much free time, the first few hours were great and it was great to have that time to himself but after that things did tend to become boring.
Her words brought a small chuckle from the man "Is that a challenge?" he asked her, raising an eyebrow questioningly as he tried to figure out if she was joking or if she was actually serious about what she had said. He didn't drink often, occasionally he would but he wasn't a heavy drinker, he needed to have a clear head to be able to work effectively and that couldn't be expected of him if he drank often or heavily. If she was serious then he suspected that she'd be able to hold her drink a lot better than he would, after all, she apparently knew how to have fun a lot better than he did. Larkin Jones

Sinclair had reached out to touch a wire only to recoil when he’d received a small electric shock, shaking out the affected hand, he stared at the wires in confusion for a couple of seconds before hearing the man that was working beside him laugh. He stared down at where Alex was on the floor, looking for an explanation to why he was laughing and more importantly why he’d gotten a shock in the first place, he’d expected the electricity to be off or he wouldn’t have thought to touch the wires. “That’s probably something that you should’ve done, yeah” Jacapo agreed when Alex suggested that he should have pointed out that the lines were hot. He didn't know how people in Tesla worked and although it wasn't enough of a shock to cause any lasting damage, he would've preferred to avoid getting a shock at all.
He nodded when Alex mentioned that it must've stung "it did, but only for a second" he was not unfamiliar with getting small electric shocks like the one he'd just received, he just hadn't been expecting to get one at that moment. "I did expect you to have shut it off completely" he admitted to the other man "is that not how you guys work?" he figured that it wasn't really dangerous if the shocks that could be received were only minor but they were distracting to say the least. "Thanks for the warning though, whenever I work with you in future I'll ask before I touch anything" he didn't want to receive a larger shock next time he was caught working with the other man.

Sinclair would continue to try until he was told to stop, there was too much resting on him locating the parts of the ark that would survive the descent to earth. Lives were at stake and if he failed then potentially their whole community could be lost. "Of course, sir" he answered Kane, it didn't sound as though he was being forced to keep searching but he needed to, because giving up wasn't an option, not if he wanted them to have a future on the ground. When he heard Kane mention Wick, he was grateful that he wasn't the only engineer there, if he needed help then he'd have somebody to turn to for assistance.
"I appreciate it, I'm going to need all the help I can get" he forced a smile in an attempt to reassure the other man, running a hand through his hair subconsciously. "I might need to ask Wick for his help later, but right now it sounds like he's busy elsewhere" he was more than capable of completing the task on his own and although having Wick on hand would benefit the search, finding stuff that would be useful to them on the ground was also important. They couldn't go down with nothing, they had to be prepared as best as they could be so that they could have the best start possible on earth. Sinclair would've liked to have taken his time with the task, so that he didn't have to deal with the stress or the headache that was starting to bother him, but unfortunately, time was a luxury that they didn't have. "Y'know, this isn't exactly how I'd imagined going to the ground" he told him, as he lowered his gaze to look at the blue prints once again. Everyone thought about going to the ground at one point in their lives, he wasn't an exception, but all the times that he'd imagined it, the 'life or death' situation hadn't been a part of his thoughts. Sinclair listened as Jasper spoke, he could hear the emotion that was in his voice as he spoke about his friends and what they had done. It wasn't easy to sit there and listen as it became increasingly obvious that Jasper was close to tears, the wobble in his voice being the ultimate giveaway. "It must've been hard, having your friends betray you like that" he muttered "realising that they'd killed all of those people" Jasper said that he'd been trying to save them, he must've believed that he could, if he thought that it wasn't possible to save his friends without irradiating the mountain then Sinclair doubted that he'd have the same reaction. "Your friends were trying to save people too... Maybe they believed that the only way to save you and the others was to irradiate the mountain" he didn't think that they would have killed all of those people if there was any way to avoid it.
"I'm not saying that what they did was right... It wasn't, but maybe there wasn't a way around it" he added, not wanting Jasper to think that he was saying that what they did was right. He didn't think that killing innocent people could ever be the right thing to do, but if it was the only way to save people that they cared about, then he could see why they did it. "As for Clarke running away, I don't know why she did that and I'm not going to pretend like I do... People run away when they're scared, maybe she was afraid of something?" he didn't know what she could've been afraid of, maybe facing what she'd done, maybe of people's judgement, there was no way to tell without actually talking to her. "Maybe talking to them will help you to understand why they did what they did..." he just wanted Jasper to have the support of his friends, maybe then he'd start to heal "but you're grieving Jasper and the only thing I know that helps with grief, is time" maybe that wasn't what he liked to hear, he obviously wanted the pain to end or he wouldn't have thought about taking the key, but pain did fade eventually, the trick was having the strength to wait for it to end.

The news about Raven didn’t erase the worry Jacapo had for his wife, or the pain that he felt at not knowing if she was alive, but it was something positive for him to focus on. From what Kane told him, her injuries were serious and she wasn’t out of the woods yet but the fact that she was still breathing was enough to give him hope. There would be no point in operating if there was no chance of fixing her, however if the bullet was really near her spine then Sinclair knew that it would be a risky procedure. He wasn’t a doctor but he didn’t need to be to know that spinal injuries were bad news. “She’s a tough kid, she’ll be fine” he told Kane, he hadn’t known Raven to give up, she was a fighter and living in denial about the seriousness of her condition was better than actually thinking about what could go wrong.
Of course he wanted to go see her once she was out of surgery and he was grateful that Kane had thought to inform him of Raven's condition, it at least gave him something to hold on to and motivate him to keep moving forwards even if certain losses tried to hold him back. "Thanks for telling me, you didn't have to" he was glad that he had thought to let him know, especially when most people wouldn't think to. "As soon as you know anything, you'll come and find me?" he wanted to be kept up to date with any changes, if things looked bad or if it looked like she was going to be alright. His task was to try and bring power to Camp Jaha and whilst he was doing that he wasn't going to wander far, he'd be easy to find if anyone tried to seek him out. Marcus Kane

He would’ve laughed at her words if he could, but he found laughing impossible at that moment. There wasn’t anything to laugh about, not really. He felt like he’d had all the strength drained out of him, he felt so tired and he knew that was probably due to the amount of blood that he’d lost but he didn’t want to sleep, he was too afraid to sleep at that moment. Afraid that if he gave into his exhaustion and allowed his eyes to close, that they’d never open again. He owed Raven more than to just give into his need for sleep, she deserved more than to watch everyone that she cared about die, he wasn’t going to just become another name on the long list of names of the people that she’d lost. "That's not going to happen any time soon" he muttered a reply, finally managing a small smile in an attempt to reassure her, even if he couldn't bring himself to laugh.
He felt her lift his shirt up, he figured that she did this to get a better look at the wound, he knew that he was still bleeding, he didn't know if the flow of blood had slowed or not but he knew that the need to stop the bleeding was probably a priority. Blood needed to stay inside your body to be of any use to you and he'd felt quite a lot of his blood escape from the wound in his abdomen and coat his hands and now probably the floor too. Raven's words made sense to him, any method that she used to close the wound or stop the bleeding would surely cause him pain but then he followed the movement of her hands and realised what she was doing. Suddenly the idea of sleep didn't sound like such a bad idea opposed to the idea of the pain that her next move would bring to him, he'd rather not be move at all despite knowing that it was necessary. "It's okay, just do it" he told her after hearing the emotion in her voice, wanting to comunicate to her that he knew that she wasn't doing it because she wanted to bring him pain and she was only doing it to save his life.
He took the belt willingly into his mouth, figuring that it would help if he had something to bite down on, he knew that having the hot metal pressed against the fresh wound would be painful and he didn't know how he'd react to that pain. 'I'm sorry' were the last words he heard before he felt the stabbing pain in the place right where the bullet had entered his body. The belt helped stop him from screaming out in pain from the searing pain that seemed to have consumed his body and forced his eyes to close, but it couldn't stop the cries that ripped from his throat and showed the pain he was in. Keeping completely quiet seemed impossible with the pain that he was in, his hands curled into fists at his sides and he bit down on the belt in an attempt to keep quiet. If he'd thought that being shot had hurt, closing the wound using this method somehow felt worse. When the blade had been taken away from his skin and the burning had subsided, Jacapo opened his eyes and found that tears had begun to leak from the corners of his eyes. "Hurt a little? Understatement" he panted, swallowing as he tried to calm his breathing down enough so that he could think clearly, which was hard enough as it was from the pain and the blood loss that he'd sustained. "You're okay?" he asked her between breaths as he tried to read the expression on her face.

Jacapo was surprised by Larkin’s reaction to him saying that he’d never heard of the Ghostbusters. He wasn’t aware that it was a big thing on the ark, none of his friends had ever mentioned it to him, but maybe they were too ‘old’ to get it. “If it’s so popular then maybe I should watch it” he didn’t know if the opportunity to watch a movie would present itself any time soon, but if it did then maybe it was worth giving the movie a shot. Maybe he’d heard something about it and it’d just slipped his mind, that was easily done when he had more important things to worry about.“Ghosts?” he questioned, a smile appearing on his face as he fought off a chuckle. He definitely wasn’t one for believing in ghosts, but movies didn’t have to be realistic, they were a form of entertainment after all. Her humming didn’t help to jog his memory at all “No, I don’t think I’ve seen it… I’m not really one for ghost stories” he confirmed, knowing that he probably would’ve remembered it by now if he’d seen a movie and it was as good as Larkin claimed it was. “Just because I’ve never heard of the Ghostbusters before, doesn’t mean I don’t know how to have fun” he chuckled, it wasn’t often that he took a day off and when he did, he usually didn’t waste that time watching movies.Larkin Jones

"Looks can be deceiving" Jacapo told the boy with a sigh, he didn't know if he was getting through to Jasper but he hoped that he was, not many others seemed as though they were trying very hard to reconnect with him. "You can't get happiness from a pill... Or a key? Not genuine happiness at least" that was probably hard for him to believe, seeing as he seemed to believe that all of the people who had taken the key were so happy, but Sinclair didn't believe that what they were experiencing was genuine happiness. If Jasper wanted to be happy then taking a 'key' wasn't the way to go about it, Sinclair knew that he probably wasn't the best person to be talking to Jasper about it, he'd probably take it in better if he spoke to one of his friends.
The more Jacapo spoke with the teenager, the more he was starting to see just how broken he was. He was glad that Jasper knew that drinking wasn't going to solve everything or make his problems disappear. Maybe he was drinking because it was a way to cope with everything that had happened, Jacapo wanted to understand, he didn't want to upset the boy further. "You don't have to live like this Jasper... There are people here who want to help you, if you just speak to them and stop pushing everyone away" the man spoke gently to Jasper, hoping that he'd accept that people actually wanted to help him "your friends miss you, I'm sure they aren't the only ones that do"

Jacapo felt sure that if she stayed then she would die and he didn’t want that, that was the last thing that he wanted but he was also sure that Raven would not be persuaded to leave him, not until he breathed his final breath. She was foolishly determined to save his life but Sinclair didn’t even know if he could be saved, he could feel himself growing weaker and he could see the darkness trying to creep into the edges of his vision as he tried to blink it away. He tried to continue to watch her, as long as he kept his eyes open then he was hopeful that he could stay conscious, he knew that he had to stay awake, he couldn’t allow himself to close his eyes, no matter how tired he felt.“You’re losing too much blood” he could hear the panic in Raven’s voice as she spoke, he knew that he was losing a lot of blood, he could feel it soaking the front of his shirt and he could still feel the stickiness on his hands from where he’d pressed them against the wound. A first aid kit? She needed to stop the bleeding, he would die if he didn’t stop bleeding and he could already feel a fogginess clouding his mind, preventing him from thinking straight due to the blood loss. She claimed that it was only a few feet away, it wasn’t far but that didn’t stop him from worrying, he was in no condition to help her if something were to happen. Her hand on his face forced him to focus on her, she wanted him to make a promise that he couldn’t necessarily keep but the look on her face made him nod weakly in response. He held the bloodied rag to his wound as he felt her hand slip from his, he tried to keep the pressure applied so that it would slow the bleeding. Emerson had yet to make another appearance and that led him to believe that maybe he was no longer in the room with them, maybe it was wishful thinking but he hadn’t attacked again and that at least, was something.
One moment Raven was at his side and the next she was gone, he could hear her footsteps growing further and further away from him as she hurried towards the first aid kit that she’d claimed wasn’t far from them. He tried to sit up, to see where she was and to work out why she sounded so far away from him but as he tried, a fresh wave of pain erupted from the wound in his abdomen and with a gasp, he allowed himself to fall backwards again. He was starting to feel cold, the cool floor making him shiver but he could also feel a thin layer of sweat on his brow. He tried to regain his breath, the effort of trying to sit up had made his breathing come in short, ragged gasps. He stared up at the ceiling, waiting until he heard the sound of Raven’s approaching footsteps, he only allowed himself to relax when she appeared over him again after obviously being successful in her mission to retrieve the first aid kit. He wanted to tell her that she didn’t need him, she’d made it this far and if he didn’t make it then there’d still be others willing to give her support but instead he muttered four words “You won’t lose me” they were meant to offer her reassurance but his voice came out sounding weak and hoarse. If Raven refused to leave him behind then he had to make sure that she was risking her life for something, if he gave up then it would be for nothing. “Will you ever stop saving my ass? This is what, the third time now?” he asked the girl as he reflected upon the previous times when he’d needed Raven to get him out of difficult situations.

Sinclair shrugged at her question, registering the surprise in her voice "I guess they want it done right, they trust that I won't mess anything up" some of the younger engineers didn't take their jobs as seriously as he did and it wouldn't be the first time that one of them had screwed something up whilst they were working. Sinclair liked to be in control anyway, he liked to know exactly what was being done and any obstacles that they found whilst trying to fix a piece of equipment. Of course that wasn't to say that he didn't get bored, he had more important things to do than spend his days updating equipment when he had believed that it was be an easy task even for a novice.
"Jacapo Sinclair" he introduced himself after she had done the same and looked up briefly from his work "Like I said, I'm a busy man" most of the time he didn't have time to listen to the radio and he couldn't say that he took a particular interest in it. It did help now that they knew each others names, but that didn't mean that Jacapo had ever heard of the young woman before. "Ghostbusters?" he questioned her, unsure of what she was talking about, he'd never heard of ghostbusters before "should I know what that means?" he couldn't hide the chuckle that made its way into his voice at that moment as he turned back to his work.Larkin Jones

It didn't matter if Jacapo did manage to locate the stations that would survive or not, either way they were all going to have to make the journey down to Earth or die waiting for the Ark to run out of oxygen. As he noticed the Vice Chancellor approaching him, he took a step backwards so that Kane could look for himself. "No, not yet sir" he admitted, an apology in his tone, the task that he'd been given wasn't an easy one and he was reluctant to admit his doubts about locating the safe stations to his superior. "I'll keep trying if that's what you want" giving up wasn't really an option, even when the odds were so small and with so many lives at stake, it made it really hard to admit defeat. So many people could die if he was wrong and he didn't think that was something that he could live with.
"It's turning out to be a little more challenging than I originally anticipated" he eventually admitted to the man, knowing that he had to be kept up to date with any developments. If Sinclair decided to keep stuff from his superiors now, it would only cause problems further down the line. "Honestly, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack" the sad truth was that he didn't think they'd be able to locate the stations that would survive at all and they'd have to take a chance when going down to Earth and just hope for the best, which wasn't an easy thing to do when doing so could cost countless people their lives.
