Marcus left Blake int he holding cell, and sent someone to go get a report on the Murphy kid from Abby; who had him in the medical bay. Thankfully that came down with them so they had some supplies. From what Marcus had gathered so far, the kids they send down had really screwed them over in the making peace area. To say he was displeased was an understatement. Marcus was chancellor now, and he was not going to begin this by fighting a war that a bunch of kids started. He needed to reach out some how and try to make peace. Before he could do that, he needed to know what was happening here. They had no power right now, and he had assigned seren2 to figure out what was needed to get them stable here. Thankfully they had a few engineers down here with Sinclair and Kyle Wick. Marcus walked into the workroom that they were using, and looked around at the mess. The crash had left everything tossed around. With any luck they could make what they had work. Looking at Sinclair, Marcus got to the point. "How bad did the crash hurt us?" Sinclair was one of the best, and Marcus respected the hell out of him. He hoped that Sinclair could get them something usable. If not then the parts needed to build a wall around this place--apparently they might need it.

Since arriving on the ground Jacapo had been hard at work. Not only was the threat of hostile grounders hanging over them but Camp Jaha, as their camp was now named, was without power and it was his job to fix it. The workroom was a mess at that moment due to the crash but that was the least of their worries. Sinclair's main priority was to figure out how badly some of the parts were damaged and if any of it could be repaired. From what he'd seen so far Sinclair remained hopeful that he'd be able to restore power to the camp, there was the possibility that he could stumble upon complications further along the line but he'd think about that when it came to it.
The man immediately noticed when the chancellor entered the room and stopped what he was doing as he saw him walking in his direction. "Chancellor Kane" he muttered a greeting to his superior as he stopped in front of him and as he heard the question Sinclair slowly nodded his head. "The crash hit us pretty hard, it's probably going to take a while to sort through all of this mess and figure out what still works and what we can repair but we're working on it" he explained waving a hand to motion around the room at the evident mess that the crash had caused. They were lucky that they had a few more engineers on the ground, it meant that the job could get done faster. Sinclair had a deep level of respect for the new chancellor and had no trouble following his orders, especially since he seemed to be doing a pretty good job at keeping them all alive in the brief period of time that they'd been on the ground. Marcus respected Sinclair, and thought him one of the brightest minds they had right now. They would need that in the coming days if they were going to find a way to get any sort of power or defense. Kane wasn't unreasonable, he knew the crash could have taken out all the systems and the damage might bee too much for Sinclair to fix. Even with the help of the few people they had down here. Rayes could have been helpful but she had been shot, and Abby wasn't sure she would walk again. There was also Wick, whom Marcus had assigned to work under Sinclair.
"If you need anything just let me know." Because right now they needed this to help the people. "We don't have many people down here who know what they are doing, but whoever we have to spare can be sent here to sort scraps or gather whatever you need." Man power was about all they had right now. He'd built a new guard up to help protect them, but the people were not pleased at the children not being within reach.
Speaking of children, Marcus knew that Sinclair too had a family. No children (not that Marcus knew of at least) but a wife. "We are still hoping we can find some of the other stations." But many had exploded on the way down here, and Marcus wasn't sure which ones it was yet. Until then he didn't want Sinclair to loose him. "Once we know for sure, I will make sure someone tells you first thing." Reaching forward Marcus put his hand on the other man's shoulder in comfort, before dropping it.

Sinclair was fairly confident that they'd be able to repair most of the damage that had been done to the ark, he had some pretty capable people on his team and failure wasn't an option. They already knew that the grounders were hostile, without power they would be more vulnerable to attack. It was true that Sinclair didn't have a massive team, it was nothing compared to what he had back on the ark but they had to make it work, they didn't have any other option. He was just thankful that he wasn't the only engineer that had made it down to Earth, he had Wick and Raven was there, even if she was incapable of helping at that moment due to her injuries, it was reassuring to know that when she got back on her feet, however long that would be, they'd have a talented young mechanic on hand.
"Thank you sir" he muttered as he looked around the room, help would definitely be appreciated. They might not have anybody else that was capable of restoring power to the camp but having a couple of extra people on hand to help clean up the mess that the crash had made, might make all the difference "If anything changes I'll send someone to let you know immediately" he was sure that Kane would want to stay updated if anything important changed, it would be important to keep the chancellor updated. If something went wrong then Sinclair had no doubt in his mind that Kane would want to know, currently he was crossing his fingers that everything went according to plan, they couldn't afford to make mistakes. Not down here.
When Kane mentioned the other stations, Sinclair felt a familiar pang in his chest. His wife had been travelling down on one of the other stations and Sinclair still didn't know if she was alive. He didn't know why he hadn't insisted upon her travelling down with him, if he had then she'd be safe now. There was still hope, there was always a chance that the station that she'd been travelling in had made it, but only five percent of the arks stations had made it down to earth. His gaze went to the chancellor's hand as he placed it reassuringly on his shoulder before allowing it to drop once again to his side "Thank you sir... I appreciate it" he muttered his thanks quickly, he had to keep busy. As long as there was work to be done, he wouldn't be able to focus on the dark thoughts that had started to invade his mind. "Others made it, we can't be all there is... Right?" he asked, not really expecting an answer, maybe he'd said it to reassure himself more than anything. The idea that they'd been the only ones to make it was almost unbearable to think about.

At Sinclair's last words Marcus paused there and tried to think of the best thing to say. He had no family of his own, and that was a long standing regret of his. Especially after the lost of his mother. "We had brief contact with Jaha after we landed, and from his point of view we know others made it down. We just don't know where they are, or even which ones they are." But he knew that there were many who died in the travel to Earth, which is why he was not assigning anyone to look for the others right now. They needed to work on what they knew for sure they could save. The kids that they'd sent down here.
Reaching out to Sinclair, Marcus rested his hand on the man's shoulder. "There is still a chance," he tried to encourage, even though they both knew the odds weren't good. "Once we find the rest of the kids, we will begin looking for them." Which did lead Marcus into some good news. "Speaking of, one of your students, Raven Reyes, was found with the kids. She was injured, but Doctor Griffin is looking at her now." Reyes was going to be pardoned for her crimes with the rest of the kids, so if she lived then she would not face any charges. That had been the promise Jaha made to them, and Kane was doing to make sure it was kept. None of the kids would see any charges as long as they followed the rules from here on out. The kids had really made a mess of things though, starting a war with the locals, and from what he had learned--killed many of them. He had always disliked the idea of sending kids down, even though he didn't push hard to stop it from happening, but now he wished they had done things differently.

Sinclair nodded at the Chancellor's words, they knew that others had made it down to earth and because of that he'd decided that he had to believe that his wife was alive, until he received confirmation of her death then he'd continue to believe that she was out there somewhere. Hope was what kept a lot of people going and right now he was needed, he couldn't afford to grieve for someone who might not even be lost. He looked down when he felt Kane's hand on his shoulder "a chance" he repeated, forcing a smile to show that he understood. It was better than nothing, it was more than a lot of people had these days and Sinclair knew that the kids were more important, they at least knew that some of the kids that had been sent down were still alive, they just had to find them.
What Kane said next grabbed Jacapo's attention "Raven's alive?" that was good news, it was great news. He was relieved to hear that she was alive when others weren't, he was concerned to hear that she'd been injured but at least she was alive. "How bad are her injuries?" he didn't know if the Chancellor would know all that much, but as he'd been one of the ones to go to the dropship then he figured he'd at least know more than he did. Raven was a talented mechanic and he knew that they could definitely use her when she recovered from her injuries, how long that took depended upon how serious her injuries actually were.

salvation comes at a price
Marcus was pleased to see Sinclair's reaction to Raven being alive. He hoped that finding Sinclair's old student would give him hope for finding his wife, or at least give him something to keep working toward. For that, he needed Raven to live--though knowing what he did about her efforts to get to the ground, he knew her mind would be something they needed down here; so he was hoping the vibrate young woman stayed alive for that. She had managed to get to Earth alive--something not many could have done. The reports about her feats on the ground impressed him, and he knew she would be one to help everyone survive--if she could survive.
"She is badly injured, but once she is out of surgery, you can do see her." From what Abby had said, it wasn't an am easy surgery. There would be nothing to push Raven under with, so she would feel everything. "She was shot, and the bullet is near her spine." Kane added on gently, not wanting to scare Sinclair anymore then he had too. "Dr. Griffin is with her now. Once we know something for sure, I will have someone come and get you to take you too her. I am sure it will make her feel better to see you made it too."

The news about Raven didn’t erase the worry Jacapo had for his wife, or the pain that he felt at not knowing if she was alive, but it was something positive for him to focus on. From what Kane told him, her injuries were serious and she wasn’t out of the woods yet but the fact that she was still breathing was enough to give him hope. There would be no point in operating if there was no chance of fixing her, however if the bullet was really near her spine then Sinclair knew that it would be a risky procedure. He wasn’t a doctor but he didn’t need to be to know that spinal injuries were bad news. “She’s a tough kid, she’ll be fine” he told Kane, he hadn’t known Raven to give up, she was a fighter and living in denial about the seriousness of her condition was better than actually thinking about what could go wrong.
Of course he wanted to go see her once she was out of surgery and he was grateful that Kane had thought to inform him of Raven's condition, it at least gave him something to hold on to and motivate him to keep moving forwards even if certain losses tried to hold him back. "Thanks for telling me, you didn't have to" he was glad that he had thought to let him know, especially when most people wouldn't think to. "As soon as you know anything, you'll come and find me?" he wanted to be kept up to date with any changes, if things looked bad or if it looked like she was going to be alright. His task was to try and bring power to Camp Jaha and whilst he was doing that he wasn't going to wander far, he'd be easy to find if anyone tried to seek him out. Marcus Kane

salvation comes at a price
"I will leave word to have someone come and find you and let you know then moment everything is done." Marcus promised him, knowing that it wouldn't do anyone any good if Sinclair went and tried to be there now. He had to hope that the screams wouldn't carry this far. He didn't envy the young girl what she was about to go through. It would forever change her life. He had to hope that she was strong enough to make it through.
Marcus had technically came to say everything he needed, but he didn't move on right away. Sinclair and him had had a moment of understanding while back int he sky, and he saw the man as someone he respected, and could even be friends with. He didn't have a lot of friends down here, and he was hesitant at moving on. "You did good." He reminded him, "We are down here because of you. I know it's a small comfort, you should know that everyone knows it was you who got us this far."
