Alekay grinned proudly at his success in drawing such a reaction from her as she playfully hit him. Within their culture, particularly those that were warriors, displaying such jovial -- or some may call it juvenile in Alekay's case -- actions or emotions. It never stopped him from provoking others, but he found it especially enjoyable when poking at those he was close to. Yvette being a prime example. "At least I made you smile," he said teasingly, purposely pointing out the emotion despite how brief it may have been.
"I'm going to count that as a win on my part." He did pride himself in such things. And he wasn't about to minimize it -- hence the reason he had displayed such attention onto it. She then teased him about behaving himself, and that they then wouldn't have a problem. "I will, if you will." The tease continued. "I said I would resist my urges, but you better resist yours too. I know the temptation is there, but try to fight it." He was of course just making fun over the whole notion of it. It would make this hunt so much less boring setting out with a friend rather than one of the overly serious Grounders who offered one or two words every hour.

Alekay wouldn't said anything about distrust. It may be implied, and it was certainly felt between the two groups . . . but it wouldn't be said. Despite Alekay's tendancy to run his mouth, he wouldn't be so careless about speaking ignorantly or thoughtlessly, especially about an already sensitive truce. "Now did I say that?" He asked more teasingly than anything else. "I'll leave the reasons up to your creative imagination." Sarcasm, but said in good humor rather than rude bluntness. She pointed out that he was not like her usual escorts. "I'll take that as a compliment," he said with a bit of a smirk on his face, giving himself that flattery though it was in good humor. If she was expecting a more serious member of the Trikru . . . well, she would be undoubtedly disappointed with Alekay's presence.
"They sent me because I am Indra's second." Indra was one of the strongest Chief's, most likely well known. "And the other seconds were all busy." It was a joke, and he said it as such. He wasn't the default to be sent here, but it was amusing to humor the idea. "What kind of escort were you expecting?" He asked, genuine curiosity in his voice mixed with other tones consistent with how he'd spoke to her thus far. It was her latter comment that caused him pause, though he did not show sign of offence. It sounded like sarcasm, and their Commander would not put up with it. But instead of offering threat or warning, he decided to take another direction. "Now what would you say or do if that was said about your Queen?" He questioned. If someone was sent as an ambassador to the Azgeda, and they displayed that attitude toward Nia. They were loyal to their leaders, and that included not really tolerating any ill speak toward him . . . or bad tones and attitude.

Alekay smirked with amusement upon her insistance of it being one time. "That's plenty," he said back. The entire idea had entertained him more than anything else. It had been hysterical, and Alekay recalled actually laughing when he had found out. "Good thing you didn't cause permanent damage," he further teased. It was really going to be a long time before he fully let this go. And until then . . . he was enjoying taunting and teasing her about it. Especially considering the reason she had stabbed him.
"Well that's reassuring," he said with playful sarcasm when she told him she wouldn't stab him. "I'll try to restrain my urges," he further joked. She was his friend more than anything else, but teasing her about something that she often had to deal with from the male villages was just too tempting to resist. Her next question was made on a more serious note, and he could reply in kind. "A few of the hunters are going East. We'll go in the opposite direction." Since that ground would not yet be covered. With that, he waited for her to be fully ready before they began to venture out into the woods.

Alekay was on duty for hunting today. He didn't mind it in the slightest. It allowed him to be out there in the woods and come back with something to benefit his people. All in a day's work for a warrior and member of the Trikru. He was not to go alone though. Hunting was more efficient with at least one partner . . . and today, that partner just happened to be Yvette. It was hardly a coincidence since he and Yvette were friends and he quite enjoyed her company. He had known her since he had started training to be a warrior, and with most of his immediate family living in another village, she was part of her family of heart that he had found among the other warriors and village people. He was situated in Tondc right now, which was why he was ready to set out with her.
Seeing her standing there near the exit of the small village, he armed himself with a couple daggers, a bow and arrow and of course a spear which he gripped in his hand. He then approached her once he was prepared for the hunting journey. "Ready?" He asked her, a smile playing on his lips. "You're not going to stab me are you?" He asked teasingly, referring to an incident where she had tried to stab a man who was interested in her. Alekay found it to be highly amusing and spared no opportunity to bring it up in a teasing manner.

They had encountered a group of Sankru who seemed to be equally enraged by the Commander's decision. They would need time to consider what could be done about this, but were not expressing a great deal of objection toward Alekay and his purpose. Granted, it was not just him. The army of rebels he was building continued to grow, and he knew that a few Sankru would join soon enough. After all, the Mountain Men had not just taken those of the Trikru . . . they had taken those of almost every clan. Whoever was near; whoever they could get their hands on. This was why so many would feel the sting of betrayal. Lexa had the power to be praised and regarded as the strongest Commander of all the clans . . . and instead, she proved to be the exact opposite. It was the final straw for Alekay. He no longer answered to an injust, cowardly leader. The next in line surely would be stronger, wiser, and far more brave. When the two groups parted ways with the promise of speaking again soon, Alekay headed in the opposite direction, but it was not long until another woman joined them, questioning the validity of the rummors.
Alekay gave a small nod to the others, as they stepped away, though cautiously watched. They had received directions by the other Sankru clan members of a water source nearby and they would need to stop there before returning on their journey. But for right now, Alekay focused his attentions on the young woman who inquired about the rumors. She had not been with the others. Interesting. Something told him she was an outcase but Alekay was not going to focus on her status or affiliation right now. Instead, he was going to confirm what was spreading quickly throughout the lands, reaching the ears of each person. "It is," he confirmed, his voice strong and unwavering. "And it is also true that not all of the Trikru will accept this decision and instead, rebel against it." Him. The others. They would no longer remain silent. "It is not just the blood of our people, but your people as well." Whether she was an outcast or not. They had all been targets.

So Isa was her name. Something Alekay would remeber. She then added on that she was surprised her visit brought forth so many -- adding on her flattery over it. "Good. Better you keep think it flattering rather than accept the actual reason there are so many of us." Which was the wariness that both groups felt toward one another. Alekay had been told that sometimes he speaks too much, or without thought . . . but he didn't really care. He was just saying what everyone already knew. Besides, his tone was a bit light, almost teasing over the subject though it was not without truth. His expression was less serious than a few of the others as he continued to watch the newcomer.
"Come then Isa of Azgeda. The Commander wishes to meet you promptly." And they had a bit of a walk ahead, but it was nothing compared to the amount of traveling their clans tended to do. The Trikru were accustomed to the heavily wooded land compared to the other terrain such as sand or ice. It just depended on what a person was used to. He motioned for her to commence walking as a few of the others with him started to lead the way. Alekay stayed near her, walking alongside her. His job was to watch her and that was what he intended to do, though know it was just more of casual company.

The desert. It was not the most favored environment for the former member of the Trikru gone rogue, but it was a necessary place to come to. He was now against the Commander -- him and the group of Grounders who disagreed and rebelled against Lexa's decision to withdraw the army. They had all been there, prepared to fight, ready to die . . . blood must have blood! And what happened? She withdrew. Alekay did not understand the decision. Indra did not question it. This only enraged him further. For all those that the Mountain Men had massacred . . . they were to do nothing. They were to let them live. What prevented them from taking their kind and transforming them into Reapers again. The though had made him livid. So now, they were rebelling. Alekay did not plan to start a war, but rather, create a strategic ploy to overthrow Lexa. Surely over time, others were realize how poor her decisions were. The first for him had been her acceptance of Finn's death. Alekay had wanted justice as their culture dictated, yet the murderer had died and Lexa accepted this. Mount Weather was the last straw. Surely, others would start to see just how the Commander's decisions betrayed their culture. Went against everything they believed in. And Alekay would be here waiting to welcome such people with open arms.
He also sought to gain the support of the other clans, which was what brought him to the desert. The Sankru was here along with those who had been banished due to their deformities. Alekay would never have sought them out but right now, it was about numbers. He needed to strengthen the group of rebels that he had formed. He didn't even want to go against Lexa's successor as she had a right to be put in power. At this point, he was willing to accept anyone other than their current commander. He was unsure whether the nomads would join for it did not guarantee their acceptance back into the clan. Their culture was not such. However what he was hoping for was support from those who knew of Lexa's decision, and disagreed with it. It was about justice. And for anyone who shared the desire for it . . . well, that was what Alekay was hoping for. That was what made him travel through the heavy sands under the beating sun, so that he could find anyone else who wished to fight for justice.

Alekay wasn't sure what had just happened. One second they were preparng to fight, to bring justice to their people, to kill every single one of the enemies who had murdered so many of their own . . . and the next, they were retreating. Those who had been captured were being released, but only their people. It wasn't any loyalty Alekay felt toward the Sky People that angered him; it was the betrayal of their culture and the rights they had within it. Blood must have blood. That was what they were told. That was what they were promised. And instead, they were retreating. Running away, like cowards. Alekay would rather die in the fight than live as a coward. Yet it seemed that their Commander was perfectly content for them to suffer the latter. This showed no strength on their part. What would stop the Mountain Men in the future? They were alive. Their resources in tact. They could continue to kill their people. This war was supposed to mark the end, to bring the destruction of the Mountain Men. But instead . . . it was just a rescue mission with no blood to pay the price. And it left Alekay completely livid. He was instructed to help a few of them being released, most all of them had blankets covering them, except for one. She was of the Azgeda. And just as he had been before, Alekay was instructed to accompany her during their journey back to the village. He didn't dispute it. For the first time in perhaps all his life, Alekay was left silent. The anger over all this was coursing through him, causing his blood to boil, and he was using every ounce of his strength to not let it show. He walked alongside the woman, motioning for her to take a fur covering that would keep her warm, as she had been the only one without a blanket. Normally he'd have a light, humored comment to offer. But tonight, he had nothing other than these two words. "Take it." Because he was not in the mood to convince her to. Seeing what they did to her only reminded him of what they were deprived of: justice.

The journey through the woods this time was not like any other. Why? Because he had fled. Surely, others would start to see just how the Commander's decisions betrayed their culture. Went against everything they believed in. And Alekay would be here waiting to welcome such people with open arms.
He also sought to gain the support of the other clans -- mainly the Azgeda. Tensions had arisen since this decision and Alekay intended to use that to his advantage. This would take time, but he would wait. Wait and plan. He didn't even want to go against Lexa's successor as she had a right to be put in power. At this point, he was willing to accept anyone other than their current commander. Alekay had been gathering information when he'd been attacked. He'd been separated from his group and while he was often able to handle himself . . . he had not been entirely prepared for the surprise attack from not one, but three of the creatures. One of them had bit into his leg which had resulted in meeting its end by Alekay's blade. The other the same, but not before it slashed the Grounder's arm with its claw. Both were dead soon enough, but Alekay lay on the ground, fighting back any sound of pain. Instead, heavy breaths emitted from him, trying to remain conscious. He couldn't just go back to the village to be treated by the healer. He was a rogue now. A renegade. And he had to accept his fate as one.

Alekay wasn't entirely sure how he felt about this . . . mingling and training together. But alas, he was not one to engage in it with a sour attitude. He found himself smiling as he ridiculed a few of the Sky People, in a tongue that they would not understand of course. The couple others he was with seemed to find the mockery humorous and even engaged in it. They were taking a short break from training, and just observing. After all, should this alliance fall it would be helpful to know how they trained and fought. So Alekay was taking notes should they come in handy for the future. It seemed that apart from the basic hand to hand combat, these people used their guns -- a weapon that his kind would never touch. Spears, swords, daggers, and so on were acceptable. But guns? Absolutely not. Indra would not even allow them to touch it, which was something they had long known. Alekay could see the temptation, but had no desire to betray their culture with such magnitude.
Amidst his observations, he noticed a woman start to beat a piece of meat. She was rather beautiful for a Sky Person, and though Alekay noticed her injured arm, he couldn't help but chuckle at her failed attempt to do what she was trying to with the meat. The two others he was standing with followed his gaze as the Grounder continued to watch her. "I found my wife" he joked in their Native language with a chuckle and amused grin as he began to approach the woman. "It's dead," he said, clearly poking fun at her. "And stabbing it makes it any more dead." Sky People. And an interesting kind of people they were.

Alekay had been tasked with going to meet one of the members of the Ice Nation who would be joining them. He wasn't opposed to this task, so he went with good spirits. The two groups had their share share of tensions, set to rest with a truce and alliance. But that didn't mean that everyone was wonderful and carefree between the groups. This was where Alekay came in. He was to escort the woman to their camp and then keep a close eye on her. See if she was here as a spy or as a represenatative of sorts. After all, she wasn't the first member of Azgeda to be among them. With taht mission, he armed himself with a couple blades, and took along a few others. Being one of Indra's seconds, he spoke to her as she assigned the others that would join him. He was the only second who would be going so he held the authority over the small handful of people.
They walked without stopping until they reached the outskirts of their village, where he immediately saw her. It was easy to tell she was an Outsider. Her garb, her over all appearance. And the unfamiliarity he could practically feel from her as well as see with his own two eyes. "I am Alekay of the Trikru, here to escort you to our village." He didn't know her name. He'd only been informed that a member of Azgeda was coming, but by introducing himself, he assumed that would prompt her own introduction. After all, he had no idea how long she intended to stay with them. That was a conversation better had with either Indra or their Commander.

| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. Grounder Village .:Family:. Mother [alive], Father [alive], 4 siblings [1 deceased], grandmother [deceased], grandfather [deceased] .:Occupation:. Warrior, one of his Indra's second .:History:. Alek was born in a quaint little family in avillage far from Tondc. He would be the first of five children to his parents, and the family was quite close. They had a humble lifestyle, and a fairly happy upbringings. Alek had always taken an interest in being a warrior, admiring the others who fought to serve the commander. He moved to Tondc, and was raised by his grandparents who resided there. As soon as his age permitted him to, he commenced training. He moved up in the ranks and eventually became Indra's second. He serves her with the utmost loyalty, having immense respect for the woman. However eventually, things took a drastic turn for the worse . . . it all started with the Sky People. The first tragedy that struck was the death of his grandmother. She was in the village when Finn opened fired at the village and was one of the victims to this massacre. As soon as Alek found out, he wanted justice for his family. It was not only his grandmother that was killed, but close friends as well, and the Grounder was livid . . . just like the rest. There was hardly time to mourn for his grandmother, for they were at war. Much to his displeasure, an alliance was struck between the Grounders and Arkers, yet as an obedient warrior, he voiced no objection. He just wasn't overly fond of the Sky People.
The second tragedy would be one far worse than the first. His grandfather and brother were in Tondc at the time the missile struck . . . and both of them were killed. It was then that Alek felt the heavy lost of those members in his family in such a short amount of time. He drew strength from the vengeance that he would get when they raided Mount Weather, however this too was taken from him when Lexa told their people to turn back. Again, he could not voice his objection but he was disappointed, frustrated, and unsettled. For he no longer had an outlet for all the built up rage and pain within him.
Due to that, he formed a group of other Grounders who felt the same way as him and began to rebel against Lexa, believing they were staying true to their culture: blood must have blood, and that was exactly what they wanted.
