The journey through the woods this time was not like any other. Why? Because he had fled. He was now against the Commander -- him and the group of Grounders who disagreed and rebelled against Lexa's decision to withdraw the army. They had all been there, prepared to fight, ready to die . . . blood must have blood! And what happened? She withdrew. Alekay did not understand the decision. Indra did not question it. This only enraged him further. For all those that the Mountain Men had massacred . . . they were to do nothing. They were to let them live. What prevented them from taking their kind and transforming them into Reapers again. The though had made him livid. So now, they were rebelling. Alekay did not plan to start a war, but rather, create a strategic ploy to overthrow Lexa. Surely over time, others were realize how poor her decisions were. The first for him had been her acceptance of Finn's death. Alekay had wanted justice as their culture dictated, yet the murderer had died and Lexa accepted this. Mount Weather was the last straw. Surely, others would start to see just how the Commander's decisions betrayed their culture. Went against everything they believed in. And Alekay would be here waiting to welcome such people with open arms.
He also sought to gain the support of the other clans -- mainly the Azgeda. Tensions had arisen since this decision and Alekay intended to use that to his advantage. This would take time, but he would wait. Wait and plan. He didn't even want to go against Lexa's successor as she had a right to be put in power. At this point, he was willing to accept anyone other than their current commander. Alekay had been gathering information when he'd been attacked. He'd been separated from his group and while he was often able to handle himself . . . he had not been entirely prepared for the surprise attack from not one, but three of the creatures. One of them had bit into his leg which had resulted in meeting its end by Alekay's blade. The other the same, but not before it slashed the Grounder's arm with its claw. Both were dead soon enough, but Alekay lay on the ground, fighting back any sound of pain. Instead, heavy breaths emitted from him, trying to remain conscious. He couldn't just go back to the village to be treated by the healer. He was a rogue now. A renegade. And he had to accept his fate as one.

The idea of turning Mecha into an outpost had been brought up during the winter and they figured winter was as good as any time to start working there. In the beginning nobody stayed there long. They took turned in working there. Mel was among a track back from Mecha to Camp Jaha after another group took over. It was a slow progress, but it was a progress. Slowly Mecha became as good of an outpost, if not better than the dropship. They had steady quarters, workstations, it was all set in motion. In truth, Mel wanted to stay there longer, dreading returning to Camp Jaha for reasons entirely unrelated to her job. Her job was her distraction. The trek back went uneventful until the guards noticed sounds. Mel thought it might have just been animals, though shuts alerted her to the fact, that she was wrong.
Mel followed the guards, leaving the other civilians with the rest of them. Her gaze fell to someone on the floor. To her own surprise, she recognized the person. She knew the Grounder. He was bloody, it looked like it was recent. The guards, she learned, were useless in first aid most of the time, so Mel kneeled next to him, carefully examining the wounds. The deeper ones should be bound somehow, she knew as much from being around the boys for most of her life and frankly the lot couldn’t afford real treatment.
“He’s from Indras people.” But he was alone. Was he meant to be alone? The guards were still weary, but they couldn’t plan on leaving him here without help, right? Treating this should be easy for them. “We have to take him to Camp Jaha to take care of the wounds.”
