The desert. It was not the most favored environment for the former member of the Trikru gone rogue, but it was a necessary place to come to. He was now against the Commander -- him and the group of Grounders who disagreed and rebelled against Lexa's decision to withdraw the army. They had all been there, prepared to fight, ready to die . . . blood must have blood! And what happened? She withdrew. Alekay did not understand the decision. Indra did not question it. This only enraged him further. For all those that the Mountain Men had massacred . . . they were to do nothing. They were to let them live. What prevented them from taking their kind and transforming them into Reapers again. The though had made him livid. So now, they were rebelling. Alekay did not plan to start a war, but rather, create a strategic ploy to overthrow Lexa. Surely over time, others were realize how poor her decisions were. The first for him had been her acceptance of Finn's death. Alekay had wanted justice as their culture dictated, yet the murderer had died and Lexa accepted this. Mount Weather was the last straw. Surely, others would start to see just how the Commander's decisions betrayed their culture. Went against everything they believed in. And Alekay would be here waiting to welcome such people with open arms.
He also sought to gain the support of the other clans, which was what brought him to the desert. The Sankru was here along with those who had been banished due to their deformities. Alekay would never have sought them out but right now, it was about numbers. He needed to strengthen the group of rebels that he had formed. He didn't even want to go against Lexa's successor as she had a right to be put in power. At this point, he was willing to accept anyone other than their current commander. He was unsure whether the nomads would join for it did not guarantee their acceptance back into the clan. Their culture was not such. However what he was hoping for was support from those who knew of Lexa's decision, and disagreed with it. It was about justice. And for anyone who shared the desire for it . . . well, that was what Alekay was hoping for. That was what made him travel through the heavy sands under the beating sun, so that he could find anyone else who wished to fight for justice.

Word of what happened at Mount Weather took a while to reach the Sankru settlements and longer to reach Amuna. It was by chance that she overheard some Sankru people talking about it and although curious about it, she could not approach them to ask what happened. She had only been sneaking by, intending to filch some of their supplies. Besides, it had to do with the Sankru and the Coalition, not her. She was an outsider.
Still the talk made her uneasy and she had to wonder if she heard correctly. It honestly made little to no sense to her. The Trikru commander had amassed an army, including some of the Sankru, but called for a retreat when they were at their enemy's doorstep in exchange for their captive people. The Sankru she overheard talking about it expressed disdain for the decision, but Amuna doubted they would do anything about it.
It was by chance she learned about what happened at the mountain and by chance that she came across the group of Trikru with the scar of fresh injustice in their heart.
She expected nothing from them. She was a stain against the bloodline of her people and none would ever take her in. Yet she watched them as they spoke to a small group of Sankru. Once the two groups separated she approached the Trikru.
"Is it true?" Her question was not directed at any one in particular, but certainly one would step forward and answer. "Is it the that the Trikru commander denied you your just blood?"

They had encountered a group of Sankru who seemed to be equally enraged by the Commander's decision. They would need time to consider what could be done about this, but were not expressing a great deal of objection toward Alekay and his purpose. Granted, it was not just him. The army of rebels he was building continued to grow, and he knew that a few Sankru would join soon enough. After all, the Mountain Men had not just taken those of the Trikru . . . they had taken those of almost every clan. Whoever was near; whoever they could get their hands on. This was why so many would feel the sting of betrayal. Lexa had the power to be praised and regarded as the strongest Commander of all the clans . . . and instead, she proved to be the exact opposite. It was the final straw for Alekay. He no longer answered to an injust, cowardly leader. The next in line surely would be stronger, wiser, and far more brave. When the two groups parted ways with the promise of speaking again soon, Alekay headed in the opposite direction, but it was not long until another woman joined them, questioning the validity of the rummors.
Alekay gave a small nod to the others, as they stepped away, though cautiously watched. They had received directions by the other Sankru clan members of a water source nearby and they would need to stop there before returning on their journey. But for right now, Alekay focused his attentions on the young woman who inquired about the rumors. She had not been with the others. Interesting. Something told him she was an outcase but Alekay was not going to focus on her status or affiliation right now. Instead, he was going to confirm what was spreading quickly throughout the lands, reaching the ears of each person. "It is," he confirmed, his voice strong and unwavering. "And it is also true that not all of the Trikru will accept this decision and instead, rebel against it." Him. The others. They would no longer remain silent. "It is not just the blood of our people, but your people as well." Whether she was an outcast or not. They had all been targets.

"I can't say I blame you. Any of you, really." It was surreal to imagine any Grounder would back down from a fight, especially one that they were ensured to win. It was hard to swallow it as the truth. He had plenty of reason to lie if he wanted to amass an army to rebel. He would need as many bodies as he could get, especially if the rest of the Coalition backed the Trikru commander.
It was not her fight though, even if he claimed it was the blood of her people. Her blood, stained as it was, was hers alone. Her people had made sure of that when they left her to die. She was alone.
"What if the Coalition bands together against you?" She asked instead. Numbers would be against any rebellion.
She had no stake in this. No desire for revenge. No attachment to the Sankru. There was no motivation for her to pick sides If she did join she would likely die in a battle she had no reason to fight. She did, however, know of some Nomads who may be willing to join the rebellion. They rarely needed much reason to fight. It gave them a purpose, if only for a short time.
"I know of a few who may join you," Her hand lifted for a second, brushing against the shawl covering her hair and mouth to assure herself it was still there. "They don't stay in one place for very long, but I know where they'll be. They tend to follow a set path."
