Maya was a complex character, But i truly think that she loved Jasper and desperately wanted to help him and his friends. She went against her own to make sure that she could do what was right, giving her own life in the end. Though I write her AU, I see a part of her that sacrificed everything for the better good, but I wonder if deep down she did it for the love of Jasper.
