She breathed a sigh of relief when he decided to comply and started removing his boots. A funny little part of her was almost disappointed that he didn’t force her to make that decision for him. The image alone almost bringing a smile to her face. But instead his words sobered her. Reminding her of the internal struggle he was still going through. “You’re never a waste of my time,” she blurted out before she could carefully think through what to say to him. He was her friend, hell her family after everything they’d been through. And dammit she needed him to know that. “You underestimate me Jasper, and yourself. I’m not going to leave you or ever let you do…that.” She couldn’t even bring herself to say it. The thought alone making her stomach turn.
The moment she saw the tears in his eyes, her body instinctively moved towards him, leaning down a hand on each shoulder. Physical comfort wasn’t one of her strong suits, but this didn’t feel wrong. “It makes me…physically hurt when I think about what would’ve happened if I hadn’t gotten to you in time, if I hadn’t…figured out exactly where you’d be and what you’d do.” She added the last part to let him know that he wasn’t alone, that his response, while it was wrong…was still totally understandable. Because Raven knew that feeling of wanting to give up intimately, having been one of the first to give in to A.L.I.E. But it was Jasper that pulled her out of that. So she had to be the one to pull him out of this.
His comment about the scar registered with her on a deep level. She was still self-conscious about the one running down half her back. Letting go of him, she took a step back after not realising just how close she’d gotten into his personal space. “And I don’t appreciate you doubting my skills…these hands,” she paused, holding them up. “have done some pretty amazing things.” Tag: @jasper420

She gave in completely. No longer inhibiting herself with feelings of guilt and consequences. Instead shoving those thoughts down into the furthest recesses of her mind. If she was going to go through with this then she wouldn’t be hindered by any of that. Raven wanted to be consumed by him. She wanted to feel loved and wanted by him. Even though she wasn’t sure if she could ever return the favour. It wasn’t fair and it was cruel but right now, with the way he felt between her thighs and pressed up against her chest…Raven couldn’t bring herself to care. He was overwhelming her senses. The steady build-up of tension between them over the course of this project was finally ready to burst.
She pulled him towards her into a deep, desperate kiss, the second after he pulled off his shirt, her tongue delving into his mouth, tangling with his own. Pressing into him, Raven could feel his heart beating just as hard and fast against her own revealing just how much he wanted this too. Slowly she slid her hand down the side of his torso until she reached the front of his pants. Experimentally she added a bit of pressure, releasing an involuntary moan. Raven relished in the feeling of his growing arousal. Acutely aware of her own. Clumsily she attempted to undo the belt buckle without breaking the contact of their lips, but to no avail. “Uugh,” she groaned in frustration, looking down. Since when were pants so difficult to take off anyway? Obviously it was Wick’s fault and not her own…obviously. “Take off your pants,” she instructed, needing more of him. Her own becoming increasingly constricting.

Raven’s lips almost twitched into a smile the when Nina asked about the plan. “Yep. The best plans always involve blowing shit up.” Only this time it was different. This time it wasn’t just a pass time or an experiment. She had a very specific target in mind for these grenades. Her motives more driven by anger and revenge then any of the other times she’d snuck out to play with her toys. She’d secluded herself since…the explosion working on the new designs. Less material and wider blast radius. They’d be her most advance prototype…if they worked. And she knew exactly who she wanted to use them on first. Raven hated feeling helpless, and with these weapons she’d never have to feel that way again.
Slinging the satchel filled with her bombs off her shoulder she handed it out towards Nina, a thought occurring to her. “Well since I’m stuck with you now, you might as well make yourself useful and carry these.” Perhaps having an assistant of sorts wouldn’t be that bad after all. “Careful you don’t drop ‘em though. You wouldn’t wanna blow up that pretty face of yours.” The teasing remark almost bringing a smile to her face. Until she remembered...her. Gena. And every time she’d tease her about her curly locks, or her relationship with Bellamy. The thought sobered her. Swallowing, she shoved down the guilt as far as she could and for as long as she could so that she could concentrate. Now was not the time to wallow in sadness. Raven needed to get this done. Turning around she started making her way towards a small clearing far enough away from camp that they wouldn’t notice their little practice session…hopefully.

Raven’s lips almost flickered into the beginnings smile at Nina’s eagerness to join her. While she’d never admit it out loud or even to herself, she could maybe use the company. For just a little while. Before she’d inevitably drive her away. Raven’s unapologetic cold demeanour was for Nina’s own good. People who got close to her didn’t exactly have a great track record. Everything she touches or ever cares about gets destroyed, and that included people, as Gena learned the hard way. The wound still raw and painful every time she thought about it.
“Follow me soldier,” she replied, looking Nina up and down, Raven’s arms crossed over her chest. “I’ll slip us straight out.” Turning around, she lead the way to a generally secluded corner of the camp, the ideal spot for a chink in the fence’s electrified armour. A spot she’d managed to create with some parallel cabling and her awesome brain. After a couple electrical burns…but still. Worth it. For the occasional moment of peace and quiet on her own. As they reached the fence, Raven hesitated for a moment. Nobody else knew about this. How much could she really trust Nina not to rat her out? Maybe this was a bad idea. She initially set out to be alone after all…right? “First,” she paused finally deciding to trust the girl. “You tell another soul about this and I swear to god even with this bum leg I will kick your ass.” And that wasn’t an idle threat. Slowly Raven moved some foliage she’d placed to block the fence out of the way and laid a hand on it. “It’s not hot,” she sighed in relief, untying a cable holding it together and pushing her way through. “You coming?”

She smiled at his sarcastic response, enjoying this moment of normalcy between them. It was a credit to their collective experiences that stitching up a bullet wound counted as normal. But hell she would take it. Anything that could give her hope that they could come back from this. That he could come back from this. If he was willing to sit here and let her inevitably make a mess of this then surely he wasn’t too far gone. Slowly she lay the kit on a bench and turned to look at Jasper expectantly. He got shot in the leg after all, she was going to need to see the thing if they had any hope of fixing it up. But his comment gave her the impression perhaps he wasn’t exactly eager to drop ‘em in front of her. “Lucky for you, I have a little experience with this,” unfortunately this being getting shot rather than removing the bullet. “And I know for a fact the longer that stays in there, the worse it’ll be for you.”
Folding her arms over her chest, Raven looked him up and a down, unable to resist the slight upturn of her lips into the beginnings of a smirk. “So the only question left here is, are you gonna take your pants off...or am I?” Despite being phrased as a teasing threat, Raven was deadly serious. She may have a slight disadvantage with her leg but for now so did Jasper. And he knew her well enough to know she’d tie him down to fix him up if she had to. Though Raven hoped it wouldn’t have to come to that. Her mind already straying to thoughts of some old cables she might have lying around…

Raven held onto his hand for dear life. Not letting go even as they walked further inside camp. Almost like she was tethering him to the land of the living. If he was willing to go with her, then he was willing to talk to her. Or at least he would be. Eventually. She cared about him, and he knew her well enough to know she would never judge him or hold this against him. Jasper needed to know he was worth something, at least to her. He was more than a drunken idiot after all.
She smiled at his question, relieved to hear a part of her friend through all the pain. “Humans are basically machines right?” Looking him up and down feigning confidence, she continued. “How hard can it be?” Nothing in the history of humanity ever succeeded after speaking those words, but Raven couldn’t help herself. Even managing a chuckle at how bad an idea this was. She was no doctor. Hell she could barely manage stitching her clothes together, but this was the hand they’d been dealt. It was almost like some sick metaphor for Raven ending up being the one to have to talk Jasper down. While being drastically unsuited to the task…she’d just have to do. “There’s a medical kit in my workshop, we can probably use that?” She didn’t mean to phrase it as a question, but the closer they got the more her bravado started to fade. As they walked in, it was almost completely gone. “I’m sure it’ll be fine,” she said fetching the kit, unable to even convince herself let alone Jasper.

He flipped them over, momentarily taking her by surprise. Pinning her to the bed, he had the power now. Well, she did ask him to show her what he could do. The feeling of being dominated was unfamiliar but not unwelcome. Finn had never been one to fight her for power in the bedroom, so it was an interesting change, but she didn’t protest. Raven actually…kind of liked it. But there it was again, she was still thinking of him, comparing this experience to all of theirs. No she couldn’t have that.
The moment she felt him at her opening Raven couldn’t help but squirm beneath him. Her core ready for him to just push all the way. She knew what he was doing, leaving her frustrated on the cusp of any real satisfaction. Hell, she’d just been doing the exact same thing to him. But that didn’t mean she appreciated it. Raven was a goddamn hypocrite and she wanted more than he was giving her. Every touch, every bite, was infuriating. "Tell me what you want," Raven’s eyes snapped open, finding his. His words taking her by surprise. Bellamy may be physically dominating her, but in that moment Raven realised she actually had all the power. It was nerve-wracking but in the best way possible.
Putting aside any insecurity she closed her eyes, pressing her head into the matress as he pushed further into her, only just. "How you want it." Letting out an involuntary moan, he was going to drive her insane. She could barely form a coherent thought let alone divulge her deepest most carnal fantasies. Oh he was good. Licking her lips after taking agonisingly long to collect herself, she spoke. “Start slow.” If Raven was ever going to do this with no inhibitions, it was now. “Make it all I want. All I need.” She needed him to purge every thought of Finn from her mind, just for tonight. “Then,” she paused, swallowing. “Then I want you to go hard, and rough,” she added biting his lip on the last word before dragging her tongue along it. “Or well you can try,” Raven said with a smirk, she just couldn’t help herself. Keeping it vague, she didn’t trust him enough to reveal anything deeper. But it would do for now. Unable to actually move to pull him inside her, she slowly moved her legs around his waist. Raven needed him to go deeper, to finally give them what they both craved.

His words pained her. Because now she was on that list. Taking away his choice to do this. But what he failed to understand was that they did what they did because they cared about him. She had to do what was best for him even if he didn’t see that yet. Raven would make him see it. Even if it took every goddamn day for the rest of her life. However long that would last in this place.
Grabbing the gun from Jasper the moment he offered it, Raven practically lunged at him. Her arms were wrapped tight around him before her mind had fully registered what her body was doing. Raven wasn’t exactly a hugger or someone who easily showed emotion and vulnerability. But right now it was all she could do. Slowly she registered movement. Shaking? It took her a moment to realise it was her. She was sobbing into the embrace with no sign of stopping. Raven had come so close to losing yet another person she cared about. The relief overwhelmed her. “Don’t…you…ever…do that to me again,” she all but whispered between each trembling breath. The gun in a lock tight grip in her hand in case he got any ideas about taking it back.
Raven wasn’t stupid, she knew this wasn’t over. Far from it. But this was something. It was a start and she would take it. “I’m not losing you too,” she said finally letting go of the tight grip she’d had around him. “Let’s go back inside so I can patch that up,” nodding to the nasty wound on his leg, she held out a hand. In the same way he’d held out the gun. “And we can talk,” So she could reach the part of him that wanted to live. A part of him she knew was still there. “Just me and you.” Reassurance, knowing he wouldn’t want to get Monty involved in this. Maybe it would prove to be a huge mistake, but Raven knew it’s what she’d want if she were on the other side of this.

“Dammit Jasper,” she snapped momentarily, desperation betraying her before sighing in defeat at his words. But she wasn’t giving up that easily. She wasn’t going to give up on him at all. He’d saved their asses on more than one occasion. She wasn’t the only one who was alive because of him and the things that he’d done. “I can’t…lie to you and say that we’re all gonna be happy again real soon. Because you’d know that’s bullshit.” She wasn’t the person to promise him that when she didn’t believe it herself. Hell it’s how A.L.I.E got to her in the first place. Life on the ground had been a fight since the start, but they had lost too much and too many people to just throw it away now. Their deaths couldn’t be in vain.
“But you and I both know that I am alive because of you. That we all are.” Now that was the truth. He had to at least believe that she was being honest with him. “You’re life matters Jasper…You matter. And if you pull that trigger you don’t get to pretend that it’s anything but selfish.” It was harsh. Maybe if she’d just had the foresight to call Monty to come with her when she’d realised something was up, he’d know exactly what to say. But this was all Raven could offer. “You don’t get to pretend that we’d all be better off without you because that’s just a goddamn lie and you know it.” With poorly hidden desperation lining every word Raven gestured once more to the gun. “So no I refuse to give you that choice, because if anyone’s gonna be selfish here…then dammit it’s gonna be me.” After everything, if she didn't give up...then he sure as hell didn't get to either.

The moment he lowered the gun, Raven exhaled in relief. But this wasn’t over yet. They were in for the fight of their lives. Forget A.L.I.E or the grounders. Right now, Jasper was his own worst enemy. And no way was she gonna let him fight this alone. Tears prickled behind her eyes against her will at the sound of his voice. The misery in his plea…begging her to leave. Like. Hell. “I know what you’re thinking of doing.” She began, the trembling in her tone betraying her as the tears finally fell to her cheeks. “I’m not going to let you.” He would have to shoot her first.
Slowly Raven began to approach him, holding both hands out in front of her as a sign of peace. “Give me the gun Jasper.” Her face a picture of empathy. She would never fully understand exactly what he’d been through, but she had an idea. If anyone could relate to how he felt in this moment, it was Raven. It’s why he’d been the one to get her out from under A.L.I.E’s spell in the first place. They were bonded in their experiences together. She was his friend and he needed her now more than ever. Even if he couldn’t see that yet. Raven refused to fail him now. Not after everything he’d done for her. “I need you to trust me. Just for a moment.” The most important moment of his life. “That’s all. Just for a single second find as much strength as you can then fake the rest. And give me the gun.” Holding her hand out, all she needed was to buy some time to talk him out of this. But she couldn’t do that with the threat of him blowing his brains out at any moment hanging over her.

They did it. Dammit they beat A.L.I.E. It was finally over. Raven could hardly believe it. Watching Jasper be Jasper again instead of the blank soldier A.L.I.E turned him into filled her with relief she hadn’t felt since this all started. Raven smiled as Harper and Monty shared a moment together, no longer wanting to impose she slowly walked out of the room. Someone needed to patch that kid up and since there was no one else, she’d have to be up for the job. Only he wasn’t there. “Jasper?” ---No answer. Where the hell was he? He couldn’t have gotten far, not with that leg. And why would he…
No. Oh god. She had to find him and fast. Raven knew better than anyone what the city of light did to people. The way it slowly took away pieces of who you are and disguised it as happiness. She’d bought into the sales pitch after all and so had Jasper. That look on his face…the pain in it. She knew that look. She’d seen it time and time again, after her mom, Finn…Sinclair. It was far too familiar for her to miss. But none of that would matter if she was too late. Because if he was planning what she knew deep down he was…?
After briefly scanning the room, Raven made her way outside to the entrance. Knowing that’s where he’d be. Because if it was her…it was exactly where she would go. Just far enough that no one would hear it. Running as fast as she could with her bum leg, she felt the wind knocked out of her the moment her eyes landed on him. The gun pressed below his jaw, eyes closed. Damn her to hell if she was losing another goddamn person. “JASPER NO!” She yelled before she even reached him. “Don’t do this!” She was the last person who should be talking him down. Monty, Harper…hell anyone would be better suited for this. But he was stuck with her so she had to think of something. Right. Now. He saved her life before. Now it was time to return the favour.

If she were to believe in the whole 5 stages of grief crap then Raven was definitely at anger or perhaps more accurately revenge. She’d lost too much, first her mom, Finn, and now Gena and maybe even Sinclair though with Abby and Jackson he was hopefully going to pull through. It had never been easy for her to let people in, to make friends, but that’s what Gena was to her. And dammit it wasn’t fair. Poorly hidden beneath the anger was of course the immense guilt. This was all her fault. A million ‘what ifs’ raced through her mind with no chance of stopping. It was going to drive her insane. What if Raven had gone into the president’s old office instead? What if she’d run faster? What if she’d tried a little goddamn harder? Maybe everyone in the blast could have survived.
It was revenge that was currently driving her to where she now planned to go. The intensity of the feeling even distracting her from the chronic pain radiating from her hip. To hell with peace talks. There was no peace with these people. The grounders weren’t gonna know what hit ‘em. In a satchel slung over her shoulder were grenades. A new design. If these worked they were going to get a taste of their own bitter blood filled medicine. Trying to look discreet, Raven knew exactly how to sneak out of Arkadia to test them out. As long as no one saw… "Where are you going?" Dammit. “Mind your own business Nina,” she snapped, a little too harshly and a little too quickly. Instantly regretting it. But she sure as hell wasn’t going to apologise. “Look,” she began instead. “I have a job to do, so either help me get the hell outta here or pretend you didn’t see me and leave,” she asked or rather told. A question in her calm expression thinly disguising the desperation behind it. Raven needed this. Her work now was all she had. She couldn’t bare dwelling on what happened any longer. She had to…do something.

Ah and there it was. The arrogant Bellamy Blake. The reason she’d come over here in the first place. His playful tease would have gone over better if Raven didn’t know exactly what her actions were doing to him. Every breathless sigh and moan falling from Bellamy’s lips betraying his words. Dammit if it didn’t make her feel good. He wanted more? Too bad. That’s not why she was here. And he just reminded her of that. The urge to unravel him had clouded her judgment. Raven was here to forget. Sure she enjoyed the satisfaction of taking apart her partner bit by agonising bit but before today that partner had always been Finn. With Bellamy it was purely physical. She wanted him to make her forget. To use pleasure to purge every image of Clarke and Finn…together that her mind had managed to conjure up. She didn’t particularly like him, hell she even hated him for a while there. But she trusted that he was her best shot at this. And there was no denying the attraction between them. Made obvious by how wet she already was for him because of his actions.
“Like you could do any better?” she asked taking her lips off him while simultaneously depriving him of any release. With one last stroke of her tongue, just to make its absence painful, she sat up looking him in the eye. It was cruel but if he wanted arrogance, Raven was just the woman. “We both know why I’m here,” she said as Raven slowly moved back up his body until she reached his hips, straddling him. She looked down at his member between them, biting her lip, momentarily betraying her desire. “Show me what you got.” She finally said, mustering up as much confidence as she could and faking the rest as her eyes trailed up to his own. A challenge in them mixed with a hint of desperation. Raven needed this to work.

Raven ignored his pleas for her to leave him behind. She couldn’t leave him alone like this. Not when there was even a sliver of a chance that she could save him. “Like hell am I losing you.” It just wasn’t an option. Her safety be damned. Because if death wanted to claim another person she cared about, the bastard would have to go through her first. Her expression shifted to one of fierce determination. Emerson was out here somewhere, hopefully occupied with the others. She knew they might need her help, but Sinclair was her priority now. And she had to act fast if there was any hope in saving his life.
The rag she had pressed against his wound was quickly soaking red. “You’re losing too much blood,” she said, unable to hide the tone of panic in her voice. “There’s a first aid kit just a few feet away.” A lie. It was across the room, but she didn’t need him worrying about her in his current state. “I need you to promise me something Sinclair.” Holding his face in one hand, Raven forced him to focus on her. “I need you to hold on…please.” Taking his hand in her own, she placed it on the blood soaked rag and pushed, indicating that he needed to keep pressure on it. “I’ll only take a second.” She hoped.
And with that Raven nervously checked her surroundings before making her first move. Emerson may think he could just take them down, but he hadn’t met her yet. As soon as the coast was clear, she bolted for the first aid kit, as quickly as she could with her bum leg. The thought of Sinclair’s condition fueling her forward. “Yes,” she whispered to herself once she had her hands on the kit. Holding on for dear life to the only thing that could save him. Unless he already…no. She couldn’t think like that. He had a goddamn promise to keep. Making her way back, the pain in her leg trying to cripple her, she refused to waver. Not this time. “Stay with me Sinclair. I need you.” She begged, before finally reaching him. Using her voice to keep him conscious. “Who else is gonna kick my ass into gear?” She smiled, trying to wipe away the tears still streaming down her face as she hurriedly tried to open the kit. Sinclair's life hanging in the balance.

He agreed with her? Of course he did. As much as Raven liked to joke and tease him she knew he was a good man. Kyle was giving her an out. A chance to walk away and pretend like this never happened. A chance Raven knew deep down she should take. But the moment his lips touched her forehead she couldn’t help but release a longing sigh. She knew what she wanted, and it was selfish. Probably the most selfish craving she’d ever had. If she didn’t walk away she’d risk losing the only person that had ever looked out for her. Only now, with Wick she knew that wasn’t entirely true. He was her best friend out here, in a way that was so different than Finn.
This was selfish and stupid. And it could cause them both a world of pain, but dammit just this once Raven wanted to be selfish and stupid. In silent consent, Raven slowly reached for the hem of her ragged shirt and pulled it up, revealing her trembling skin inch by inch. Her eyes never leaving Wick’s. This was it. The moment of no return. She knew she'd hate herself later, hell she already felt the self loathing creeping in. But all that was racing through her mind was how much her skin burned for his. Craved his. Quickly discarding her shirt, she removed her hair tie from her ponytail, shaking her hair free. Raven’s face remained still, her ragged breath and thumping heartbeat the only things giving away how damn nervous she actually was.
Without a word Raven slowly took his larger hands in her own and placed them at her hips, letting him know that she wanted this. No, needed this. Damn the consequences.
