Tara's thoughts were quite haunted by what she did. It was enough to prevent her from sleeping but she could deal with that. However, speaking with Katarina helped her a bit so when the auburn-haired girl said that her job had to be helpful, Tara couldn't disagree with her. " It can be... But to be honest, it has never helped me to open up to others like you are right now..." Tara admitted, she had to be honest with Katarina even if it made her less credible because the younger girl was honest with her. " Actually, I think that as we never forget anything, we have to make ourselves useful by doing what we are good at to be able to live with it." Seeing the auburn-haired girl crying was heartbreaking for Tara. She knew that in her job it could happen quite often to make people cry by making them remember bad moments but it was harder to see tears running down some people's faces than on some others'. Tara couldn't explain why some people touched her like that. Well... in Katarina's case, she had an idea, the girl had been through a lot like her so they had some things in common, plus Katarina was really pretty. Normally, Tara shouldn't have done that with a person she was helping but she didn't really care about that at this moment so she just wrapped her arms around Katarina and softly drove her into a hug. After all, sometimes a hug was much better than words, it showed understanding, support and also affection in that case. The way Tara was melting from the inside as Katarina glanced at her, the brunette knew she could never, even for a second, think that the auburn haired girl was a bad person. She watched the younger girl hesitating about her offer but she didn't insist not wanting to push the girl to accept. And even if she would have wanted to insist, she wouldn't have had the time before seeing the girl nodding. " Of course it's alright otherwise I wouldn't have offered that. Plus, it will make you feel a bit better so it's the least I can do." Tara said smiling at the girl, happy that she accepted the offer. After looking the girl in the eyes and getting lost into them for a bit, Tara came back to reality and said " Okay... So, you can take the bed and I'll be right here, just in case." Kat Roux

Tara realized that her words were confusing and worrying as soon as she saw Leiana's face after she said them. But Tara didn't want the girl to worry about her so she added " I mean it can't happen for the moment... But hopefully some day...". Tara forced a smile to seem more convinced by her last words hoping it will be enough to dispel the unease that had settled. However, Tara was quite sure she wasn't as persuasive as she would have wanted be. But she decided not to let it show too much because she didn't want to talk about her mother. She was already destroying a big part of her life so Tara won't let her destroy moments like this one too. " My favourite colour..." Tara repeated thinking about her answer " I think we are lucky to live in a world made of an infinite amount of colours... Imagine how sad the world would be if it was all black and white... So I guess my answer is that I don't have a favourite colour, I like them all!" Tara explained with a smile satisfied of her answer. Now it was Tara's turn to ask Leiana a question " Okay, my turn! So... How old are you exactly? I'm seven and I can see you are around my age, maybe a little younger?" Tara decided to keep it simple, she wanted to know the basic information about the girl before beginning to ask her about her problems and what brought her there. Leiana LaCroix

It felt weird talking to the girl, Tara was so not used to meet people around her age and to talk to them. She was alone since her birth as her mother didn't want her to spend time with other children. And at that moment, after all the time she waited hoping that one day she would be able to make a friend, she didn't really know what to say to the girl. And not being able to tell Leiana more about why she was there didn't help Tara at all. However, it was great to have some company for once. Adults company was good but they didn't really understand kids, so they weren't the best to make their fears go away, to give them some hope. that was why Tara enjoyed Leiana's company, because they could understand each other. As she saw the girl smiling at the idea of them seeing each other again, Tara smiled in return but her smile quickly went away as she added " I wish it could be in better conditions, somewhere else than here... but unfortunately, it won't happen... it can't..." As most of people, Tara didn't like to go to medical but at least it would make her stays more enjoyable than they had been until now to have the girl, not to stay alone. Speaking of being alone, Tara wondered why Leiana was on her own when she got there. She couldn't understand why somebody would leave a young girl alone after an event where she had been hurt like that. For her, after something like that, nobody deserved to be alone, they needed someone they know they could talk to. " Yeah, I think both of us could really use that." Tara answered smiling at the girl. As she felt the squeeze on her fingers, Tara looked down to their hands and then looked up at Leiana again as the girl spoke. " I hope so. It would be great." Tara really liked this idea but she wasn't sure her mother would let that happen that easily. Not wanting to think about her mother, Tara proposed " So... What do you think about learning a bit more about each other? We can take turns and ask each other a question one after the other.". Leiana LaCroix

" Well... If it can reassure you, I swear I'm not a threat." Tara told the girl smiling. She was just trying to clear the air as she had noticed how traumatized the girl seemed to be. Somebody had to help her to relax a little and to try to think about something else. Tara totally understood that it was hard to act normally after some traumatizing events but it was human to want to do so. And if some people needed to talk about what happened to feel a bit better, some others didn't want to speak and prefered trying to act like everything was okay. Tara couldn't blame these people because she would probably do that too if something happened to her so it was understandable. Actually, speaking about talking to someone else about events or problems, Tara was hiding a big part of her story by just telling the girl that she was in medical most of the time. But she had her reasons why she couldn't be fully honest about that. First, she couldn't explain to anyone what her mother was doing to her or she would be floated and Tara would never see her again. And secondly, the seven-years-old girl didn't want to make the girl sadder than she already was by telling her her story. As the girl offered her a seat, Tara hesitated a little, it wasn't very usual for her to have a discussion and to spend time with someone around her age so it felt a bit weird. But she finally decided to sit next to her letting her fingers into the girl's hand as it seemed to help her and it didn't bother Tara. All the contrary, it was good to hold someone's hand. As Leiana said she would have to come back, Tara answered " Then I guess we will see each other again quite often. That's a good thing!" It was, even if she would have prefered to see Leiana again in a place other than medical. Leiana LaCroix

Seeing the girl jumping as she clasped her hand, Tara understood she scared the girl who hadn't seen her coming. " Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." she apologized. Then, she saw the girl turning to look at her and Tara could feel her hesitation. Tara could feel that there really was something wrong with the girl, not only because she was lying in a medical bed, but also in the way she was acting. " I'm sorry but it's hard to believe someone who says she is fine while she is crying in an hospital... Want to talk about it?" Tara wouldn't force the girl to talk to her, she was just proposing her help to the young girl. After all, she was a total stranger to this girl so she didn't really expect her to open up to her even if she had noticed that the girl seemed to have relaxed a little since she was there. As the young girl asked her how she got there, Tara answered " My name is Tara, I'm a patient here too... I kind of almost live here... I mean, it feels like I spent at least half of my life around here...". Leiana LaCroix

Medical... There she was again... It was almost like a second home for Tara. She was used to the silence of this place and if this atmosphere could be kind of stressful or disturbing for some people, Tara had grown more and more at ease with it. At seven years old, she had been there so often that most of the nurses and doctors knew her and some of them had somehow replace the friends she would probably never have. This time, Tara was in medical for some food poisoning. It wasn't the first time she was there for that reason so she knew the procedure, they wanted to keep her under observation for a day, maybe two. Then her mother would be able to bring her back home and to poison her again or to find some other way to make her sick or anything like that. But for the moment her mother wasn't there so Tara was free. The nurse who had to check on her several times in the day had just left and she wouldn't be back for at least an hour. So as she didn't want to stay alone and as she felt good, Tara decided to go see if she found someone to talk to and spend some time with around. Hanging around, she saw a girl who seemed to be around her age lying in a bed, no one by her side. Tara was so glad to find someone around her age, maybe they could be friends, so she approached of the girl. As she was coming closer, Tara understood how bad the girl seemed to be. She had no idea of what happened to the girl but it must have been terrible. Once near the girl, not having any ideas of what she should say, Tara looked at her for a minute and noticing the tears beginning to form in her eyes, she simply took her hand and asked " Do you feel bad? Do you want me to call a nurse or a doctor?". Leiana LaCroix

Tara was already regretting her vague answer, it did feel quite well to speak to someone about what happened to her. She now understood why people spoke to her, why they need a psychologist sometimes. "Yeah, it would be too easy if walking just make it go away and make us able to live with what we did and what we saw..." They would be far away, walking all the time and being more tired than ever if it worked and Tara knew that it wouldn't work before beginning to do it.
Tara was glad that Shiloh had decided to talk to her. Maybe she could tell more for this girl. She had noticed that Shiloh said she went down with ninety-nine other delinquants but she didn't really care that the girl was one of the hundred, it didn't scared her at all, she had killed her mother so maybe she was even worst than the girl. So to show Shiloh that she wasn't shocked or scared by the fact she was one of the hundred, she decided not to bring this topic "Exactly, it's like life is just a huge game where we are the players and no matter what choice we do, we always lose... It's so unfair..."
"I'm sorry to hear that... But sometimes it's better not to know believe me... I wish I didn't know what happened to my mother..." Actually she would probably not be there at this time if she didn't have killed her because she wouldn't be haunted. Tara listened to what Shiloh had to say like she had learnt to years ago. The girl was going to turn eighteen the following week and she seemed to have no one there for her as she didn't know what happened to her mom and didn't mention anyone else. That made a lot but Tara felt like there was more behind this. So Tara decided to reveal the girl a little more about her to see if it would make her open a bit more "Birthdays and anniversaries are terrible things... They are meant to make you think you are going to celebrate or to remember and just be happy but they are also a part of the game that life is... But there is always something hidden behind them... And actually I think my dad's death anniversary is in few days...". Six years had passed since she had found her father's body and she still remembered every details. A silence settled but it was broken by Shiloh when she tried to express her feeling. "When you do you'll literally explode in a million pieces and return to dust..." Tara completed Shiloh's sentence "Yeah... I know that feeling...".

Maybe Tara shouldn't have said what she just said about people killing people but the words just got out of her mouth before she could stop them. But seeing how the other girl acted after that, Tara understood that it had touched her and she felt sorry to have let the words out, she didn't mean to make the girl feel uncomfortable. - She could not have put it any better - Tara thought when the girl spoke about never knowing who might become a killer but the other Arker probably didn't suspect that the girl beside her was a killer. Tara had stabbed her own mother and she couldn't sleep because of that. Her mother was litterally haunting her and she wasn't sure she could keep living like that any longer. It was a weight way too heavy that she couldn't carry on her shoulders anymore.
"Then I must look much better than I thought." Tara told the girl smiling at her. She perfectly understood what look the girl was talking about. This tired look not only tired because they hadn't sleep enough the last night but also tired of everything around them. Tara had that look for what seemed to be an eternity now. She had grown more and more tired over the years since she was a child. Her mother's terrible treatments, her father's suicide, her mother's death by her hand, if you added everything that had happened, everything she saw since the landing, you could easily understand why Tara had this look and was so tired.
Even if she wanted to be alone when she had left the camp, having the girl next to her now didn't bother Tara. All the contrary, she was glad she had met the girl otherwise who knows where she would be at the moment. But she had run into Shiloh, maybe it was a sign, maybe the girl could help her. That was why when Shiloh asked her why she needed air, even if Tara wasn't the kind of person who shared what they had on their heart, which was quite ironic as she usually incited people to talk to her as a former student in psychology, she decided to answer the girl "I can't sleep lately because I have loads of things in my mind and I hoped that walking outside and breathing some fresh air could maybe help me clearing my mind... But I guess I was wrong..." Tara sighed acknowledging her defeat against her thoughts and then added "Your turn to tell me why you needed air now.".

The way the girl spoke made Tara aware that the other Arker had noticed how lost and confused she was and she hoped she won't have to answer questions about that. "Yeah, I know... I just... I got lost in my thoughts so I didn't notice you..." Tara said honesly. And did she really needed to be careful anyway, nobody would notice that she wasn't there anymore and there weren't much people who would miss her so it didn't really matter for her to be careful.
The girl admitted she wasn't the best person to say that Tara shouldn't be alone in the woods but Tara couldn't blame her for that, it was human to need to be lonely sometimes. It happened to all of them, some more often than others. Tara wasn't really sure what to think of the girl's words about the ground not having killed her yet but she told her "Well, only people kill people so as long as we can't read minds, we don't know what can happen...". Tara was quite well placed to say that, she knew anyone could become a killer by choice or not, even the kindest person in the world. But that meant that they should always be careful and on their guard and if they wanted to live without being stressed all the time, they needed not to take too much precautions and just live their lives without worrying.
Without really knowing why, Tara felt like she could be honest with the girl so she hoped the other Arker felt like that too. She saw the girl hesitation, maybe she didn't really want to confess to a stranger which was totally understandable by the way. But as the younger girl invited her to sit next to her, Tara did so and answered her "Is it that obvious? Do I look that bad? Because I definitely did need to breathe some fresh air...". She had to look worse than she actually thought because of the long nights during which she stayed awake to avoid the nightmares. And now, even if the first purpose of this walk was to be alone, Tara enjoyed the idea of staying there sitted with the girl in the calm of the forest. "By the way, I'm Tara." she said realizing that she hadn't introduced herself.

Tara was so tired... Tired of thinking about everything that had happened since they landed, tired of dreaming about what she did to her mother. She could remember every single detail of it and it drove her crazy. Seeing herself stabbing her mother with some sharp piece of metal everytime she closed her eyes was so much more than she could endure. And not sleeping wasn't a good solution. She needed to clear her mind if she didn't want to lose it.
That was why after wandering in Alpha Station, Tara let her feet lead her as she got lost in her thoughts. She didn't know what to do to think to something else so she just walked. She didn't know for how much time she was going to walk neither did she know where she was going but she kept walking. She wasn't sure of what she could expected of that walk alone, her body there but her mind so far away.
Apparently, her feet had decided to bring her in the forest. The calm and quiet forest around the camp. Nature, silence and loneliness, it should have been perfect for Tara to clear her mind, at least that's what she must have unconsciously assumed but now that she was there, she didn't feel any better or even any different. Breathing fresh air and walking without any purpose wasn't helping but she kept walking around.
Tara was still thinking, trying to find a way to let the thoughts go when suddenly, a voice brought her back to reality. But that's only when she saw the sunlight reflecting in the knife the girl who was in front of her was holding that Tara understood what was going on. "I - I'm sorry... I didn't mean to scare you." she apologized, she was so confused. She didn't know where she was, she didn't know how much she had been walking and she didn't know with who she was right now.
But coming back to herself, she tried to cover up her confusion. "Isn't it ironic that you're the one saying that?" Tara answered to the Arker when she told her she shouldn't be there on her own. Then, she decided to offer the other girl some help in an attempt to sympathize "Can I help you with something?".

Tara knew this feeling well to perfectly not to describe it very well. She felt this everyday, how many times had she wanted to tell someone what she felt? But still every time something had stopped her from doing it. She wished she could be the person who will help Katarina not to feel like this anymore as she would have love to have someone like that around her. " Well... What can I say... It's easy for me to describe what I or other people feels... It's kinda part of my job..." she told her. It was all she had found not to have to explain the girl what she felt and why she felt that even if she trusted the girl. " Yeah... It's... It has always been hard... But as always we do what we need to do...". She was aware it was difficult, it was even hard for her too. It was hard for Tara to see what what she did was doing to the auburn-haired girl. She didn't want to make her cry, it was heartbreaking but she had to do so in order to help Katarina. The younger girl was very strong and Tara had no doubt about that but apparently she had touched a sensitive point. A very very sensitive point that even all the comforting words she could say won't alleviate the pain of. " Of course, I'm sure. Your heart is pure, I can feel it." Tara answered, she truly believed what she just said, Katarina was obviously a wonderful person, at least she was for her. Tara could saw that the auburn-haired girl was hesitating so she could already tell that the answer to her question was that Katarina hadn't sleep well for a long time which was understandable with all the nightmares and thoughts she had. It was the same thing for the brunette. After Katarina's words, Tara answered " Then, you should get some sleep right now.". And as she wanted to make sure the younger girl got some sleep, she proposed " If you want, you can even sleep here so I'll be here for you if you have a nightmare.". She won't sleep this night anyway so if she could do something for the younger girl and have a reason not to sleep, then she will do it without any hesitations. Kat Roux

As Jackson squeezed her hand again, Tara thought it was good to have someone here to support and listen to you but she felt bad because she couldn't tell him everything she had on her heart while he was really nice to her. When he told her it's been nine years, Tara understood he had lost his parent at her age or something like that. But it also gave her an idea of how much time it took to heal, even after nine years Jackson didn't seem totally heal. "I'm a little late but... I'm sorry for your loss...".
Tara didn't like the turn the conversation had taken, she didn't like how she had to be careful about what she said about that topic especially when she was vulnerable like that. The young girl couldn't speak about her mother and what she did to her, it was too dangerous, she would be alone if her mother got caught and was floated and by the way, maybe now that her father was dead the woman would stop to do terrible things to Tara. So the young girl couldn't trust anybody, even the nurse. When Jackson told her that he could set something up for her, she answered "No, don't worry about me... It's going to be okay...". She couldn't risk to talk to someone about the impact of her father's death, about how it left her alone, she would too easily speak about her mother. "Don't worry, money isn't the problem..." she said when Jackson said he could cover the price of seances with a therapist. She couldn't accept his proposal even if it was very nice of him and she was thankful about that. She just couldn't.

Tara wasn't sure that Katarina believed the fact she was brave but for the older girl she really was, Tara had never been able to talk to someone about what she did so she admired the younger girl's decision. " Yeah, I know that feeling... having the words on your lips and wanting to let them out but being stopped by something without really knowing why..." the former psychology student said, at least it was how she felt and she hoped that Katarina felt the same, it would make help easier. " I think you're at a stage where your shoulders can't handle all of this anymore... But it's a great thing, that means that you're ready to free your mind." Tara truely believe that the need to talk didn't show a weakness, it was a strength, a chance to make the thoughts and nightmares which were hunting their mind run away. Tara saw that the fact she got closer and had reached for the girl's hands had made the auburn-haired girl focus on her and she was glad of that because her words were true and important. And as the brunette noticed the younger girl's tears, she let her finish speaking before telling her softly " Hey, it's gonna be okay... You really are a good person with a pure heart. Unfortunately you had to go through hard things, to make difficult choices and I know it's hard to think that but it doesn't change who you are.". If her words could make the girl feel better Tara won't stop talking, she would say every single nice thing that came to her mind when she saw the girl if it could help. Tara listened carefully to what Katarina was saying about the memory and dreams trying to understand what was in her mind at the moment. " It can be both of them, you're right and we will try to stop that." Tara said before adding " But for now I think we both deserve to rest a little... When was the last time you had a decent sleep?". The auburn-haired girl seemed quite tired and the older girl felt like she had pushed her enough for this night. But Tara would like the girl to stay there to make sure she would get some sleep and to be here in case the younger girl had a nightmare so she could wake her up and just be here for her. Kat Roux

Tara was very interested in psychology and psychiatry, she wanted to be a psychologist for years now and she was studying hard to reach her goal. On the last psychology class, the teacher gave the students a whole work to do, they needed to prepare a presentation about the subject they drew lots. Tara's subject was Munchhausen syndrome by proxy. She didn't know much about it except it was some illness which involved psychology but also psychiatry so she decided to go see Killian Crane, the psychiatry teacher to learn more about it.
That was why after the psychiatry class, Tara waited for the other students to go out and then came to the teacher's desk. Seeing the man looking around the room to make sure she wanted to see him made the student feel a little uncomfortable. "Yes. Sorry to disturb you. But I'm a psychology student and my teacher gave me a work to do about... Munchhausen syndrome by proxy... And as I don't know much about it, I was wondering if you had some time to give me so I could understand it more easily and ask you some questions about it..." Tara said as the psychiatry teacher asked her what he could do for her. The young woman hoped the man will agree to explain her about this illness if he knew things about it.

Down there on the ground, the only thing Tara could do to make herself useful was helping those who wanted her help because even if there were loads of people who needed it, not everyone wanted some help and if they didn't want it and believe in it then there was nothing the brunette could do for them. That was why when Tara had heard Katarina saying she wanted help earlier, she was so happy not only because it will keep her quite busy but especially because there was something about the younger girl that made her want to do this, she wanted to do everything she could to make Katarina feel better. " Yes, it's not the kind of topic that you can easily insert in a conversation... and it's hard to talk about it so I need to say that I think it's very brave to have decided to do this..." Tara said as the auburn-haired girl spoke about how hard it was to be open. But when the younger girl told her that it was easier to be open with Tara, the older girl just couldn't help but have a smile drawing on her lips and she could feel her cheeks blushing a little. She didn't know why the girl made her feel like that... Well... she may have an idea, the younger girl was cute and she would probably understand what Tara felt but she needed to focus and stay professional right now. The way Katarina reacted to her question confirmed what Tara said, it was hard for the younger girl but she was able to speak about it so Tara kept looking at the girl to see her reactions and listened carefully to her. Seeing the girl that nervous and hesitant made Tara feel kind of guilty to ask her that question but she had to if she really wanted to help. The auburn-haired girl was so touching, the brunette could feel what she felt and it was so hurting, so hard. Tara moved closer to the girl, sitting right in front of her " Hey, it's gonna be okay. We've all done terrible things since we're down here... and it can change some things in our mind but it doesn't change our heart..." she said reaching the girl's hands. " You just had no choice... You're a good person Katarina... not a killer..." Tara added looking the girl in the eyes. Kat Roux
