whatever THE HELL WE WANT The missions was on its way to success. At least for the first stage of it. Breathing the air in itself was a victory, having learned only through experience that it was breathable. They had set up camp where they landed, using the small ship to offer shelter if needed. A hunting party had brought back food, a scouting team to survey the area, and of course, Wick was on the technical side of things. Which, now provided the opportunity for Bellamy to make contact with the Ark. With his father.
The bracelets indicated that they were alive -- as they had all survived the landing. But it had been a few days since they'd left and once communication was established, the others would also be able to talk to their loved ones. But first, Bellamy needed to speak to his father. Putting on the headset, he nodded to Wick who was assisting him, as the screen started to move from static to somewhat of an image. "This is Bellamy Kane, can you hear me?" He trusted Wick and knew that if it didn't work this time, he would get it working. He hadn't recruited him for no reason; Wick was the best in his field and down here, Bellamy needed the best. Everyone on the Ark was depending on it.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT It all seemed too good to be true. They had made that mistake once; believing that Earth was everything it was meant to be. Breathable. Survivable. Free. They would all start a new life down here. That was, until the Grounders made themselves known. And now, here they were. In a new civilization that made promises of safety, security, and a life. They had one advantage over the others which was that, they had the freedom to leave the place. But Bellamy wasn't sure which was more dangerous: Mount Weather or the Grounders. He only hoped that by the time they found out, it wouldn't be too late. It wouldn't be at the expense of their own people.
Dante seemed to talk this place up and even suggested to Bellamy becoming a Mountain Man. After having joined the Guard only to have them arrest his sister and float his mother . . . Bellamy had mixed feelings about joining authority. But, he had joined the Guard for his sister. Perhaps, he could join the Mountain Men to better protect the delinquents.
For the moment however, Bellamy was exploring. Everyone was asleep so the halls were quiet. He found himself returning to one of the rooms they had been shown: a common sitting area with a piano, couches, books. Books. That was what attracted Bellamy the most. He looked along the dozens of spines of literature and paused when he came to one title. The Iliad. The book held mix feelings. On the one hand, it was one of his favourite books that he practically had memorized and had read to O. The other, it reminded him of his mother. Pulling it out of his place, he began to skim through the pages, abruptly shutting it when he heard someone else enter the room. The guy didn't look like a mountain man, but it didn't make Bellamy any more . . . at ease. "Figured everyone was asleep," he commented, putting the book back in its place.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Complicated was perhaps the only way Bellamy Blake could describe the current situation. Having a baby on the Ark was one thing -- not something he had thought would be in his future. And yet, here they were. On the ground, and he had gotten a grounder pregnant. Tensions were already high among the clans and Skaikru as they called the Arkers. And he wasn't entirely sure how a baby would fit into all of this . . . especially considering she was the leader of her people. He knew he had to speak to those who were close to her, starting with her second, Mikah.
Fortunately, he didn't seem to even consider it and Bellamy knew it was best kept that way until they came up with some sort of plan. He hadn't even told his own people yet. Once assured, he returned to her hut, seeing the concern in her eyes. "No," he answered simply. "Not yet." Cause it was only going to be a matter of time until he did find out. "My people don't either," he added on as he moved to sit on the edge of her bed next to her. "But, we need to come up with some sort of plan here." The fact that he was going to be a father hadn't even fully sunk in. All he knew was that not being a part of the baby's life wasn't an option. He was the father; it was a part of him.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT He knew who he was. Damn it, Kane knew who he was. Ordinarily, the possibility of what that could mean would have any Cadet beam with pride and honour . . . but not Bellamy. While he sought to excel, he'd rather not have that attention brought to him. Especially with someone as high ranking as Kane. Bellamy extended his hand, firmly shaking the older male's. As if knowledge of name and having sought him out wasn't enough . . . he then said he wished to speak to him in his office.
Bellamy felt his heart beat heavily in his chest. Had he not spent majority of his life controlling panic and ensuring he remained stoic so not to risk any chance to others finding out . . . he would have been certainly sweating right now. But instead, Bellamy remained as guarded as he could. Despite the whirlwind of fear and anxiousness coursing through his insides. "Of course," he said, quickly gathering his books and putting them in his bag. One always made time for Marcus Kane; he was the last person you wanted to offend. "May I ask what it's about?" He asked casually, unsure if he'd even survive the walk to Kane's office.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She asked him if he was ashamed of her. He knew the best answer, would be a lie. One that would push her away and make her hate him so much that she would never want to see him again. He knew Roma well enough to know that her wrath would be intense . . . but it was his only choice at this point. If she was comfortable enough to come to his place . . . and if she ever saw Octavia . . . well, Bellamy couldn't even begin to think of how detrimental the consequences would be. And he refused to be the one responsible for his sister's discovery. As she listed off other instances where she had popped up, Bellamy just listened and waited for her to be done talking.
He also knew that drawing attention to themselves wouldn't be wise. As much as he could, he needed to fly under the radar and not bring this unnecessary focus to them. Clearly, Roma didn't have the same issue. "Well then let me make his real easy for you. You don't have to show up anywhere else again. We're done." Because it was far easier to hate him and he needed her to so that she wouldn't show up at his place, ever again. And with that, he hoped it would be preemptive of whatever important thing she had come to say . . . fearing it was geared towards something more than whatever already existed between them. Little did he know, the true extent of it.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT The room was mostly empty, quiet. It gave Bellamy a chance to think; process what had happened so recently. Not even a day in a new place and already things had grown tense. Already there was another threat in the atmosphere. Another fight for survival. It seemed to be a constant state for them; even on the Ark, every day had been about surviving. He couldn't help but wonder if that would ever truly change.
A familiar voice broke him out of his thoughts as he saw her in his peripheral. She apologized for stabbing him and he knew that that was one thing, she did not need to do. "Don't be," he responded quietly. His tone not rude or short, but also sincere in that she did not have to apologize for stopping him. He had needed to be stopped. "Sorry for, choking you." An underlying tone of shame for what he had done, and almost done. Nearly drowned Murphy and choked Clarke to death. He hated to think what could have happened had they not all fallen unconscious. Had he not fallen unconscious.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT A knock on the door was always a concerning sound. It prompted them to quickly get Octavia under the floor and for Bellamy to answer it, making sure to be standing directly in front of it so not to welcome anyone inside. When he saw who it was . . . he was both relieved and, annoyed. Relieved, because it was better than a guard. Annoyed, because this was the last place she should be.
Just as soon as the person on the other side was revealed, Bellamy quickly stepped out of the room and immediately closed the door behind him, his movement causing her to also move back and away from the entrance. "What the hell are you doing here, Roma?" He demanded. Holding her by the arm, he quickly walked down the hallway. "I told you never to come to my place." They were clearly getting too close, and he needed to end things. Not that there was any commitment . . . but still. It was too risky now if she was just showing up where he lived. His mother was going to be furious. When they were at the end of the hall, he released her arm and looked at her, clearly waiting for an explanation before he told her that they were done.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Sanctum was far from perfect, but it was the only option they had right now. Russell had agreed to let them stay close to their palace which would provide protection from the toxins in the air that had nearly caused them to kill each other. Fortunately, no one actually had and if a stab wound on his leg was the result, then Bellamy was all too relieved it was just a simple wound that would heal.
None the less, it caused a bit of a limp as he made his way back to the ship, not about to miss this moment. They were waking up some of the others from Cryo and that included, their son: Cato. Santcum would be as safe as it ever would and leaving him in Cryo in the ship also made him vulnerable.
Bellamy wasn't about to leave him alone for another second if it was avoidable. So once they entered the ship, they moved straight to his pod. Bellamy gently took Echo's hand in his own and turned to look at her with a small smile upon his lips. "Ready?" He hadn't known it was possible to miss someone so much. While it had only been a few days of his own consciousness since he'd seen his son . . . it truly felt like a lifetime.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had just finished training for the day. Now that he was a Cadet, the next little while would be filled with the physical training of being a guardsman, inclusive of weapons training and hand to hand combat. Bellamy was eager for the time to come where he would be a Guardsman. His mother would be able to stop . . . doing what and who she did, and he'd be able to protect Octavia better. This was perhaps the best option for his family, so Bellamy was all too eager to pass all his evaluations.
Instead of going straight home, he instead decided to read up on a few things, now having access to books and texts that he otherwise would not have. While it was not technically needed for his training, he wished to acquire all the knowledge he possibly could. So it brought him into one of the designated classrooms, now empty as there was none in session.
He made himself comfortable on the chair and started reading, so engrossed in the material that he almost didn't notice the figure that entered in the room. But after years of being paranoid of every approaching footstep, Bellamy was all too aware. When he saw who it was however, he immediately rose to his feet out of respect. "Sir," he greeted respectfully. This was after all, Marcus Kane and if there was anyone who a Cadet, or even Guardsman wished to impress, it was him. Who, was also perhaps one of the hardest people to impress as well.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had gone with a few others on a hunt. They had stabilized Arkadia and it was certainly better than the initial camp they had set up. They actually had rooms and beds to sleep on now. It had been months since Mount Weather and while the scars would always be there, people were healing. Slowly moving toward the hope of a proper civilization. And currently, Bellamy was in the company of a couple of other delinquents, along with a few of the other Arkers to help protect and aid in the hunting trip. On the way back, Bellamy saw the rover pull in from a supply run to Mount Weather. That was one thing he hadn't been able to bring himself to do: return to the compound. But when he saw them unloading the supplies, he couldn't help but reach for one of the books they found, his mind going to Leiana, thinking that she would like reading it.
Assuming she was with most others in the Hangar, Bellamy made his way to her room, distracted as he was flipping through the pages, not even giving second thought to the fact that she might be in her room . . . or what she might be doing in her room. So when he casually swept open the door, his eyes immediately widened as he heard her yell and . . . well, it wasn't so much what he heard as it was what he saw. Her hand between her legs and . . . well, the rest was forever etched into his mind. Once the shock of it subsided, perhaps he would recognize that it wasn't a bad image at all. "Oh my god!" He exclaimed, scrambling to step back outside the door and quickly shut it. In the process of the frantic movement however, he managed to get his thick jacket stuck in between the door, wedged enough to make it difficult to push open. But damn, was he trying.
"Son of a bitch," he breathed, awkwardly tucking the book under his arm as he tried to shove the door open . . . or closed. e wasn't even sure anymore. "Leinana I might need a hand." He paused for a second, realizing where he had just seen her hand and well, it wasn't intended as a joke! "I mean, not your hand." Because it was . . . well, busy doing things. "Come on!" Damn door wouldn't open! With one particularly strong push, he managed to get it open but wound up staggering back inside her room, though this time, instantly closed his eyes. "Sorry my coat was wedged between your legs-- I mean, the door. The damn door. It was stuck. I'm going." Well, this was damn awkward.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She spoke of how it was different here. Yes. That much was very true. He had once not known anything other than the Ark; and then the sudden freedom given to them when landing on the ground had shown them just how different life could be. But, those moments of joy had been far too short lived once the harsh reality had set in. And, it hadn't quite stopped setting in since then.
"Would you be able to sleep if you could?" He said, his voice a bit of a tease, commenting on whether she would have slept if the sun was out anyway. With Echo, conversations were light. Still just on the surface. "Just thinking about tomorrow," he answered simply. And every day after that. Every moment of survival up here. And of course, his sister. The others that were in the bunker. Hoping that they were doing well.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Such was true. No one quite knew what 'ok' meant, but it was the generic response. The only one that they knew how to give at this point. "Most of us don't," he reassured, normalizing that uncertainty of what ok even meant anymore. When she began to ask for a favour, he listened intently, and paused when she revealed what it was. She wanted to learn how to fight. Truth be told . . . he wasn't entirely surprised. And while there was a time of 'peace' right now, with the ceasefire, it wasn't going to last. The war was far from over.
His mind went back to when they first arrived on the ground; first found out there were others. He had tried to train those who he could, but he had only been a Cadet up in the ark. Now . . . they had the full team down there, and while he knew there was a place for him on the Guard, he also knew that there were others who wanted in on it as well. "Fight how?" He asked, wondering if she wanted to know weapons, hand to hand, or both. "Fight as in, join the guard or just basics?" He wondered if she was asking this as a personal favour or, if she wanted to really be trained how a guard member would be.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy didn't like this. Not one bit. It felt as if they were one of those ancient civilizations: striking an alliance of marriage for the sake of politics. And here he thought they were more of a . . . progressive civilization. Then again, the Grounders were clearly more primitive. He still hated it though. Hated that they were offering Clarke for peace. It wasn't right. It wasn't fair. Yet, he had no say in it. He simply had to stand there and watch it happen. But the events took an unexpected turn. To, well his people's surprise, Roan rejected the proposal. Instead, his eyes went to the ground and landed on . . . oh HELL no.
Bellamy didn't even look at Octavia when he saw Roan's eyes land on her. He was already standing with his arms folded across his chest in disagreement to this whole thing, but that feel just grew substantially. He uncrossed his arms and protectively stepped in front of Octavia to break the eye contact the Grounder had on her. "Not an option," he bluntly stated. He could practically feel Kane's eyes on him; he could practically hear the man's voice telling him to calm down. But Bellamy lacked self control and rationality when it came to his sister. He'd kill the man before letting him lay a single finger on her. And that went for anyone else who even tried to make this into an actual deal.
