She grinned and nodded her head at Jasper. "Hell yeah!" She said with a giggle. She took the goggles and put them on her head, attempting to mirror the way they had been on his only a moment ago. Once they were situated she looked at him and wiggled her eyebrows. "What do you think?" She asked. Another chuckle left her lips and she thought about how nice it had been of Jasper to let her try them on. From the short story she knew how important they were to him and she wondered if he usually let other people try them on or if they even came off his head for that matter. After a moment she took them back off and handed them over to Jasper. "I think they look better on you," she said with a grin.
Nina looked up and noticed that Clarke and Finn were out of view. She frowned and scanned the area, looking for the blonde or the spacewalker. She couldn't see them and she certainly couldn't hear them. "Uh Jasp," Nina said, nudging his side. She kept her eyes on the lookout for their partners but was having no luck. "I think we're on our own." Nina didn't like the idea of being lost in the woods without Clarke and Finn. She knew Finn was a great tracker and would have easily been able to lead them back to camp. But without them, they were sort of screwed.

Glad that she had gotten his attention, Nina followed him over towards an empty fire pit and she sat down next to him so the two could talk without anyone eavesdropping. She listened to his warning but gave a curt nod in return. She knew what she was doing. If she was afraid of something happening to her then she would have kept her mouth shut. But Nina knew that Pike was doing something wrong and Marcus was the only one she could think of going to. "I know," she said. "But he's planning on taking the grounder army out. I think he's going to get someone to give him and Farm Station guns." She glanced up to make sure no one was paying any attention to them. They appeared to not be but you could never be too sure. People were great at eavesdropping or even pretending like they were busy doing something else. Nina left the part out about Bellamy being the one to get them guns, as she hoped he wouldn't do it.
"Actually," Nina began. "I have a plan for that too. I'll be telling Pike I'm trying to talk to you to get any information. As a member of the guard, you trust me. So Pike will understand where I'm coming from," she explained. She didn't know whether or not Kane actually trusted her, but the explanation was solid enough to get Pike willing to let her give it a try. "But I'll be reporting back to you. Sir, my loyalty lies with you." Nina planned on making Pike believe she was double crossing Kane, when in reality she would be double crossing him. Sure, it could get her killed if she got caught but she would rather die than do nothing about Pike's plan.

Nina ran a hand through her hair, wanting to pull it out due to the stress she was currently under. Things were not going how they had all wished for them to go. She was glad that they had found Farm Station, but the celebration hadn't lasted long after Mount Weather had been blown up with almost all of their people inside. It had been a devastating blow to their people and it had not helped ease the tension between their people and the Grounders. Most of the people from Alpha Station were fine with the Grounders, but Farm Station was having no part of them. They blamed them for everything and while Nina understood their anger, she found it unfair to group all of the grounders into one group. Not every grounder was the same. There were different clans and they knew that. So why punish one clan for something a different one did? It made Nina think back to history classes and the groups of people that had been wiped out due to a strong hatred. She wasn't going to let that happen to the grounders, not after everything they had done for them.
She was still pissed over the Mount Weather thing, but that was on Lexa. She knew that some grounders would have stayed to help them if they had been given a choice of leaving or staying. Sure, most of them might have left but they were still people and Nina believed that there were good people in the world. If all of the grounders were so terrible, she doubted that three hundred of them would be sitting outside their walls in case the Ice Nation decided to hit them again. It hadn't gone over well with Farm Station, and that's when Nina began to get worried. It appeared that Pike held the attention of his entire station and she was afraid that something bad was going to happen. She didn't want Pike taking anything into his own hands, especially when they were so close to getting another alliance with the grounders set in stone.
Later on, Nina had been eavesdropping on a conversation between Pike and Bellamy. It had been difficult given the open area so she had been unable to hide, but she had strained to listen as best she could. She didn't get all of it but she got that Pike wanted to go out there and strike against the grounder army. She hoped that Bellamy wouldn't agree to help him, but he had been in such a bad place since the Mount Weather explosion. She didn't know if she could go to her friend anymore so she found herself looking for someone with more pull. If she could stop a massacre, then she sure as hell was going to do that.
Nina rushed through camp, eyes searching for Kane everywhere. She tried to look natural, not wanting anyone to raise suspicions as to what she was doing, but it was difficult given all the red flags going off in her mind. When she spotted him she quickly walked over and got his attention. "Sir, I need to speak with you," she said. Her eyes conveyed the things she didn't dare speak out loud. Panic. Urgency. Worry. She didn't want the wrong person hearing because she knew she would lose any sort of advantage she had. "It's important," she added. Lowering her voice and moving her head more into his personal space. "Regarding Pike."

As a newly appointed cadet, Nina was often given the grunt jobs that no one wanted. It wasn't just her though, it was all the other cadets that had graduated with her. Mostly everyone had, with the exception of a few people. But Nina hadn't been making a ton of friends during classes. She had been training and studying, wanting to become a member of the guard. At first it had been something she fought against. She never wanted to be a part of the guard, especially since her father was of a higher rank. She didn't want him to constantly be hovering over her shoulder, yelling at her because he could. But a talk from her mother had straightened her out and she went forward with the training. Her mother had pointed out that Nina was a good person and she knew all she wanted to do was keep people safe and help them. Nina and her mother knew that the system was flawed. People had more privileges over others and sometimes people got more food than others, depending on their importance on the Ark. It was kept on the down low but everyone knew it happened. That's how Nina found herself looking away when she knew someone was stealing a small amount of food. Every time she caught someone, it was a parent stealing to help their child. Nina didn't have the heart to float a parent for trying to take care of their child. It was, after all, how she lost her own mother.
Nina's mother had been floated two months ago for stealing rations. The guards had done a routine inspection in their apartment and found the food. Her mother claimed it was hers and that she had stolen it for the children that she taught at school. She believed they weren't receiving enough food and she wanted to change that. Nina's father hadn't even blinked. He didn't even try to save his wife and the mother of his child. The whole thing had broken Nina, especially because it had all been her fault. Her mother hadn't stolen the food but she was such a kind woman that the guards believed her without question. Nina had been the one to steal the food and it wasn't the first time. At one point she had caught Bellamy Blake stealing medicine and after doing some research, she stole some rations to help him. The whole thing had been a huge fight between the two, but eventually things had settled between them. Nina stole food for him from time to time and she always knew that he was likely to deny it. But she kept doing about it because she cared and she didn't want him getting sick.
She blamed herself for her mother's death. She had relied on Bellamy during this whole disaster, insisting that it wasn't his fault and she didn't blame him. She had been the one to steal the food, not him. All she had asked for in return was for him to be there for her. It didn't matter that two months had passed, Nina still felt guilt over her mother's death. She still felt utterly saddened by it. Her relationship with her father had continued to deteriorate, not that it had been great in the first place. Nina saw less and less of him and she was eventually allowed to apply to get her own apartment. After that, she only saw him through work and even that was a rarity given his higher status.
Glancing down at her boots, she began to count her steps as she walked through the hallways to get to her destination. Three. Four. Five. She looked up and nodded at someone passing her by. The only positive about having to do this job was that she knew the person she was supposed to escort. They weren't the best of friends but they ran in the same social circles, being fairly close in age. Nina found him to be funny and enjoyed his humor. She hadn't seen him since the death of her mother, never really feeling like going to hang out with her friends. All of her free time was spent training, doing whatever she could to stay occupied.
Nina walked into one of the rooms the engineers used and glanced around. "Wick!" Nina called out. She leaned against the wall, looking down at her fingernails. She began to push the cuticles back, waiting for the engineer to appear. Due to the restricted area, Nina had been assigned to escort him and make sure everything went smoothly. She didn't know what he was supposed to do and she didn't really care. Sighing, she grew impatient and walked further into the room, turning a corner and spotting Kyle. "Let's go, Princess." She glanced around at the room, looking at the boards filled with writing and numbers she didn't understand. There were other supplies lying around as well that she observed for a moment before returning her attention to the engineer.

Nina thought about his question and shook her head. "Not really," she said. Sure, there were some kids that she knew but she wasn't close to any of them. Their knowledge of one another was just in passing. Then she remembered that Bellamy had gotten onto the dropship. Nina and Bellamy had been in the same class during training and had both made it to the Cadet status. Their friendship hadn't started off that great. Nina had caught Bellamy stealing medicine and she, in turn, had stolen food for him thinking that the medicine was for him. They eventually became friends and he had been there for her when her mother had been floated. Guards had found stolen rations in their apartment and her mother had taken the blame, even though Nina had been the one to steal the food for Bellamy. Bellamy had never asked Nina to steal the food, quite the opposite in fact, he had always insisted that she stop. But she didn't and it had gotten her mother killed. Nina had relied heavily on her friendship with Bellamy after her mother was floated and her father refused to intervene. "Well, I guess so. Bellamy is down here," she said. But she also knew that Bellamy came down here for her sister, which she still had a hard time wrapping her head around. It hadn't been until he was stripped of his cadet status that Nina found out about Octavia. Their friendship had changed after that, if you could even still call it that, but Nina still cared about her friend all the same.
Making a mental note to introduce herself to Octavia, she continued talking to Jasper. "But now I have this awesome friend with these sick goggles!" She exclaimed with a laugh. She felt a little stupid now that she thought about it. She had wanted to get down to the ground but she hadn't thought about anything after that. She was alone and she was just now realizing it. She wished she had a best friend down here with her, but that wasn't the case. Nina didn't like the idea of feeling needy towards people she had just met. But she needed some sort of social interaction. She couldn't function without it.

She flicked her wrist up and down, listening to the soft clicking that it made every time she did it. She hadn't fully recovered from the bomb that had dropped on Tondc a few weeks ago, but medical had cleared her nevertheless. Too much had happened for Nina not to be out in the field. The whole Mount Weather fiasco was enough to make her exhausted just thinking about it. She still couldn't believe everything that had happened in that one night. Their alliance with the Grounders had ended as quickly as it had formed. But Nina knew it wouldn't last. She thought that any alliance that began in bloodshed would only end in bloodshed. Lexa's betrayal had caused many to die and it could have been avoided had she stuck to their alliance. Bellamy and Clarke had figured things out in the end, even if it had ended with the death of every single person residing in Mount Weather. It was a horrible thing but it was the only way to save their people, and Nina didn't blame Clarke or Bellamy for that. She thought they made the right decision and knew that it was one that she would have made herself.
But she did blame Clarke for Tondc. Nina had been there, wanting to see how everyone was doing and even meet the Commander for herself. It was ironic how such a mundane thing had saved Nina in the end. She had left the village to go into the woods to relieve herself of her insanely full bladder. She had been walking back when the bomb had hit and she had flown backwards, hitting the ground with a thud and a crack. Landing on her wrist had been painful, but she had been so disoriented from the bomb that she hadn't really felt the pain until later. Nina had been thankful that it had been her left wrist, but it still put her at a disadvantage in terms of fighting. But Nina did what anyone else would have done; sucked it up so that she could do her job.
Three months had passed since Mount Weather but to Nina, it didn't feel like it. Life at Arkadia had continued to move on. Not many of their people had been lost but those that had been lost were mourned. Most people had rejoiced in reunions between family members, friends and even significant others. But Nina had noted the absence of their leader, Clarke. The girl had not returned with them and she had later learned that she had left, not wanting to see the faces of all the people she had saved. Nina thought it was a coward's way out, but she also didn't know what else Clarke had gone through since landing on Earth. But given the specific situation of eradicating everyone in Mount Weather, she still thought Clarke should have been strong enough to come back to stand with the people she had fought so hard to protect.
A group had left for Mount Weather but Nina had been commanded to take someone with her and try to catch up with them. Apparently they wanted more bodies there given that they weren't sure how it would go over with the Grounders. Nina didn't know how she felt about Abby opening the mountain as a medical center, but it wasn't really her job to think about that. Nina had been given the freedom to pick who she wanted to come with her and she thought of one of her favorite sparring partners, Harper. At first she had hesitated when she thought about asking Harper. The two had never really been friends but Nina had enjoyed teaching her how to fight (almost as much as the two appeared to enjoy watching Lincoln and Bellamy practice without shirts on). The girl appeared to listen to Nina, and for that she was forever grateful. But she didn't want to force Harper to return to Mount Weather when she had been the victim of such violence in that place. But she also wanted to offer her the chance to face her demons once more, this time while she was much stronger.
Nina found Harper and walked up to her, offering the girl a soft smile. "Hey Harper. I've got to grab someone and try to catch up with Bell's group on the way to Mount Weather. I was hoping you'd come with me?" She asked. "But if you'd rather not go, I understand," Nina added in a softer voice. It wasn't that Harper had anything to be embarrassed about, but Nina understood the necessity of not appearing weak to those around you. "But," she added again, her tone going up an octave. "You're also kind of my favorite." She grinned at the girl, hoping she would agree to join her. @harpermcintyre

She groaned into the kiss when she felt his hands slip in between them to work on the buttons of her pants. It didn't take him long and she understood his gestures, wanting her to help him finish the job given her difficult position. She lifted herself up and worked on bringing the pants down her thighs and further down until they were finally pulled off and tossed on the ground to join the rest of their discarded clothing. With her pants out of the way, she moved to straddle his waist again and wrapped her arms around his neck, devouring his lips with her own. She pulled him close, as close as two people could probably be, and wound one of her hands into his hair.
While her lips worked against his, it was her turn for her hands to travel beneath them and unbutton his pants, pushing the fabric down as far as she could with him sitting in his current position. Nina pressed her free hand against his chest, urging him to lower himself onto the bed. She allowed her body to fall with his and she used her new position to push his pants down even further. Nina began to pepper kisses along his jaw through her labored breathing and eventually her lips found their way to the spot between his neck and shoulder; her favorite resting place. For a moment she allowed her lips to kiss and suck at the skin before returning to his own lips. Pulling away, she sat up and her hands quickly made their way to her back, unlatching her bra and tossing it aside. Deciding that her lips had been away from his for far too long, she leaned back down to connect them.

He didn't push her away and she figured that was a good sign. His reaction to her second kiss only encouraged her, pushing her forward in her conquest. Nina felt herself melting into the kiss, one of her hands going to the nape of his neck, fingers twirling around his dark curls. She parted her mouth, giving him access and immediately feeling his tongue gliding across her own. Everything fell into a rhythm and she felt herself falling back into how things used to be between them. They had done this so many times that it didn't surprise Nina that it came naturally to her now, even after a year.
Goosebumps rose on her skin when she felt his fingers playing with the hem of her shirt, his skin touching her own. She made no effort to stop him and easily complied with helping to lift the piece of fabric off her body, having it tossed carelessly onto the floor. Their lips didn't stay apart long, for as soon as her shirt had been discarded he had crushed his lips against hers again. Nina worked her own hands down his torso, slipping under his shirt so she could touch his toned stomach. Nina had always preferred Bellamy shirtless, and this instance was no different. She moved the fabric up his body, willing it to come off without them having to break apart. But she reluctantly pulled away so she could finish taking his shirt off. Not wanting to waste the moment, she stood and swung one of her legs over, repositioning herself so that she was now straddling his waist.
Nina ran a hand over his shoulder, enjoying the feeling of her skin finally coming into contact with his. Knowing that Bellamy was a dominant man, as were most, she used her tongue to fight for dominance over the kiss. Nina hoped that it would have the desired effect, riling him up enough to her satisfaction.

She listened to his story about how he wanted to be a chemist and how chemistry had been his thing. It explained the goggles. But she thought it was even cuter when he said that his best friend got them for him just because. That was a good friendship and Nina was a little jealous. She never had anything like that one the Ark. Sure, she had friends, but never the kind that did stuff like that just because they wanted to. "Sounds like a good friend. Keep him close." Given his story earlier, she guessed that he was down here on the ground with them. Everyone would need someone they could count on, and she was a little glad that Jasper had his best friend with him.
"No, I understand," Nina reassured him. "I think if someone you care about gives you something that has significance, it's special. It could be a rock for all that matters, so long as you know how important it is and how important the person is that gave it to you." She shrugged her shoulders and stepped over a log. "Besides," she added after a moment. "I think they look cute."

She wasn't getting anywhere with him and she knew that. None of her words were really having the desired effect and she wondered if anything she said would do anything. But she also didn't expect for her words to make him bring that wall down and have him tell her that he still cared. She knew that wasn't going to happen. Again, Nina doubted that he even cared. Whether or not he had cared about her up on the Ark was one thing, but it was abundantly clear that he no longer cared about her. She knew things would never be the same between them. She wasn't asking for things to go back to the way they were. Nina didn't know who Bellamy had become down here but she cared about him all the same. She felt the urgent need to be there for him but ignored it, pushing it down into the darkest corner of her mind. Nina knew she couldn't run around trying to care for someone who didn't even want to give her the time of day.
The supplies were tossed at her feet and she looked up to see him leaving the dropship. Apparently he was done with the conversation. Nina mumbled under her breath about how well it had gone, sarcasm dripping into every word. She picked up the supplies and set out to put the tent up and do whatever else needed to be done. The rest of the day was filled with her doing little things, anything she could do to help. She often went to Clarke to see what could be done, not wanting to go near Bellamy again. A few times she had gone into the dropship to find Clarke hovering over Raven and she realized that the girl was not able to fix the radio. Nina frowned, knowing that people were about to die because they had been unable to tell the Ark that all the kids were still alive.
Later that night, Nina laid in her tent, staring at the ceiling. She still couldn't believe she was on Earth. Eventually she had been able to dismiss the eldest Blake sibling from her mind and she had been given the chance to actually enjoy the atmosphere. Everything was beautiful and she reveled in the fresh air. Sure, it could have been filled with radiation but it was clear that it wasn't going to kill any of them. Sitting up, Nina felt the urge to go for a walk. She wasn't falling asleep anytime soon. She had too much on her mind. She left her tent and saw that most of the kids were already asleep or retired for the night, with the exception of a few who lingered around a fire. She could see people standing watch at different posts on the wall, but even some of them looked like they had fallen asleep.
It wasn't until she passed by Bellamy's tent that she found herself moving the flap aside and going into it. She saw his body tense and while he didn't move, she knew he was awake. Although, she knew she wouldn't have cared about waking him up anyway. She had to do this. She had to get this out of her system or she was going to drive herself insane. If he didn't care about her, then fine. Nina would adjust, just like the did on the Ark when he was no longer in her life. Sitting on the edge of his bed, she watched as he sat up, asking her what the hell she was doing. Part of her told her to leave, that this wasn't going to help anything. But the other part told her that she had to do this. She had to at least try.
"Shut up," she mumbled before reaching forward and grabbing his face and crushing her lips to his. She forgot how much she loved kissing him and before he could reject her, she pulled away and pressed her forehead against his. "Just let me get this out of my system," she said before pressing her lips against his again.

It could have been out of spite for her father, but Nina was one of the more lenient guards on the Ark. She didn't take bribes but it just all depended on the situation. If she saw someone give another person some of their rations, she didn't care. There were so many stupid rules on the Ark that she didn't care about and that's when she let it slide. If Jasper had been making moonshine or been stealing food for some kids, she wouldn't have cared. If he was stealing food because he was getting high off of marijuana and getting the munchies, then she would have definitely had a problem with it.
She watched him check her out, not even trying to hide it and she laughed. "Okay Casanova," she said through a chuckle. Nina reached over and ruffled his hair a little, even though he was fairly taller than her. "I love your goggles by the way. There a story behind those?" She asked. Nina could definitely go for a good story. And she made a note to ask him again about what he had done because she was still curious.

The sound of leaves crunching under her boots was foreign but one she enjoyed. She could get used to this, that much she knew. The sky was beautiful and the trees moved in the wind. The change of scenery was needed and she was thankful that she would never have to stare into space again. She had so many options down on Earth and she was certainly going to abuse those options. Nina had never seen the beauty of a sunset or a sunrise, but she had seen pictures and she thought they were all beautiful. She was going to see one in person and she couldn't wait. Hell, maybe she would even be able to convince Jasper to get up really early in the morning to see one with her. He seemed like the kind of guy who would want to experience anything at least once.
Nina raised an eyebrow at Jasper as he spoke of his friend not being good at sneaking things. She had no idea what he was referring to but she thought it sucked that he had gotten caught because of a mistake his friend had made. "Okay well clearly none of this would have happened if you were hanging out with me," she said with a grin. Nina didn't care about the stupid little things on the Ark. She cared about people taking advantage of the system or doing anything to screw those less fortunate. Nina grew up privileged, she knew that. But that didn't mean she thought the system was fair. She knew it was fucked and she knew it had to be changed. But she didn't have to worry about that anymore now that she was down here on Earth. Everyone could get equal shares and no one would have an advantage over someone else.

She grinned at his obvious excitement. Nina found it refreshing and knew that having Jasper around was going to be a blessing in disguise. He would be a distraction and a hilarious one at that. Nina felt like this was the start of a beautiful friendship and she couldn't wait to spend more time with Jasper. "Couldn't have said it better myself," she said with a grin. Nina was excited to see the world and everything that it had to offer. She had never been terribly interested in her studies, at least before the academy, but the pictures of Earth had always calmed her down if she ever needed a moment of air. Now she would always have those visions around her and she was thankful for the opportunity.
"I would love to join you, Jasper." Nina smiled and began to follow Clarke and Finn. "The buddy system is very important. I'm glad you remembered that," she said. She knew she wouldn't want to be out in the woods by herself, at least not until they learned the layout of the place more. She knew it was likely that she would escape into the woods to drown out the constant chatter of the group. But for this trip she thought that the buddy system was perfectly acceptable and she was glad that she was stuck with Jasper. "So what did you do to get yourself down here?" Nina asked. She knew some kids had committed horrible crimes but Jasper seemed like a good guy and she doubted it was anything horrible.

She rolled her eyes when he corrected his statement. She should have been prepared for him to do something annoying like that. Nina didn't know Bellamy other than the few times they had been partnered together in class, but she already wanted to smother him with a pillow because of his stubbornness. Of course, it didn't help that Nina was equally stubborn. Now she was more than determined to make sure he took the food. Her persistent demeanor could be exhausting for other people and she intended to make sure he was no exception. "Sounds like a challenge to me," Nina said with a quirked brow, placing her hands on her hips. "You think I'm being annoying now? Just you wait, Blake."
Nina snorted. "Well I used this thing called a medical dictionary," she began. "I picked up that medicine and read what it was, and then I was thinking to myself, 'huh, I wonder what this is for.' So I went to medical, like I was doing anyway, and I found the medicine and what it was used for. It listed all sorts of side effects and other medical information that was very informative." Nina knew she was sounding condescending, probably only bound to piss him off, but she was beyond caring at this point. Taking her hands off her hips, she crossed her arms over her chest. "Your daily ration isn't going to make a difference," she pointed out.
"Look, if you want to make sure the medicine actually does something, you need the extra food. The calories need to be there to help the medicine combat the illness." Nina was actually a little surprised that she had managed to remember all of this from the medical book she had picked up. "If you're going to take the risk of stealing the medicine you might as well make sure it does something."
