" How can you know for sure that I'm not wary of strangers?" Klara asked as a reply as Emori told her she should be wary of strangers. She really thought what she just said, how could this girl she just met be sure that she wasn't careful when she met strangers? It was such a lie, maybe she wasn't as wary as the other grounders could be but she was and she knew it could seem weird to the others but that was just why she was her and not any other grounder. Her instinct was one of the main things that made her along with being an orphan and never knowing her father who died during a war. And deep down, she knew she shouldn't always trust it but it never really disappointed her or put her in too much danger and she wanted to believe that some people were worth taking the risk, that there was still hope. She knew she sounded crazy but that was why when Emori told her that only time could make her trust her, Klara nodded to show her that she understood " Okay... but just know I don't want to harm you.". It was kinda amusing to see how intrigued the thief seemed to be. " Well, I just mean that luck is an important factor but it's not the only one" Klara answered as Emori spoke about leaving things to luck. Klara might be crazy but she wasn't suicidal and she was well aware that luck didn't make everything but sometimes it helped a lot especially when your job was as risky as hers. Plus, luck was something she had lacked during her whole childhood so she wasn't silly enough to believe that as she had lacked of it back then, life would be nice enough to give her more luck now. " My job stays dangerous leaving things to luck or not anyway. There are too many unknowns." " Okay, I won't try to prevent you from going out there if that's what you want but it would totally mean that you're ready to leave things to luck..." Klara said softly hands up to insist on the fact that she won't do anything to force her to stay even if she thought it was wiser. When Emori evoked her brother, Klara's big sibling instinct immediately came to the surface, she understood how the thief was feeling even if the orphans weren't really her siblings. " I understand that you're worry about your brother but you won't be able to help him if you get caught..." Klara began to reply but before she could finish, Emori told her how dangerous it was to be on your own outside and Klara added " Of course I know that. That's actually why I was going to offer to help you find him once night will have fallen, when the warriors will be less numerous... because if it's dangerous for him to be alone, it's also dangerous for you...". Klara really was ready to help. " I'll let you say I told you so..." Klara said chuckling. She just had time to clench her teeth when Emori removed the arrow from her shoulder and despite her attempt to contain any sound, a small groan left her mouth at the pain. Klara could now feel her blood running down her back but quickly Emori wrapped her shoulder in the piece of cloth she had torn from her shirt and tightened it so it would stop tye bleeding. seren1

When Klara turned back to face Clarke, she saw how impressed she looked at the sight of the cave and she was glad that the girl seemed to like the place. " Of course it needs some plants to hide the view to be really safe so I'll help you to find some and put them there but expect for that, it can be quite a comfortable place.". Her words were true, she liked this cave, it actually was one of her favorite places. She didn't usually share its existance with other people, not even with other Trikru scouts but the situation was different. Clarke couldn't hide from Trikru in their territory and it was the same for Azgeda so this unknown cave at the border seemed perfect. As Clarke spoke about the place being beautiful, Klara said " Well... I try to keep this place as great as I can so feel free to tell me if I can help make it feel like a real home." According to what Clarke told her and to what she had heard, Klara was pretty sure that it was hard for the girl to feel like home down there so if she could do anything to help with that, she would be happy to do so. Helping people, especially psychologically lost people, was a need for her, that was one of the reasons why she took care of the orphans and that probably was what pushed her to help Clarke. When the Skaikru girl thanked her, Klara replied " You know you don't have to thank me, helping people is what I do and if it can bring them some hope too, then I'm glad it does. But I don't think it's a gift, I think it's understanding... I mean, I know that hope can be a dirty four letter word sometimes... but there's always a little light somewhere to chase the darkness in your heart." Clarke Griffin

It was so good to breathe the fresh air of the silent night, to look at this wonderful sky full of stars. Looking at them, Klara remembered some of the great times she had with her mother and a small tear ran down her cheek. These times were far away now. Now, the little girl who lost her mother had become some sort of mother for the younger orphans and a big sister for the olders.
Seeing a shooting star, Klara wished that her mother would be glad of what her daughter had become even if Klara wasn't really proud of everything she had to do to get there. After all, everybody already had to do something they didn't want to and they weren't proud of but they had to live with it and Klara was like everybody, she lived with what she had done.
Suddenly, Klara felt watched so she looked around and it's only then that she noticed the other girl who was sitting in the glade not far from her. Klara was quite sure she had already seen her in TonDC so she decided to get closer to get acquainted. "Sky is beautiful tonight... It's amazing to see all these stars shining..." Klara told the girl as she was coming next to her.

" Maybe. We can't know how we would react in a situation until we live this situation..." Klara admitted, Emori wasn't totally wrong, maybe Klara would react just like she did if the roles were reversed. Plus, if people had already use the fact that she gave them her trust, it was understandable that Emori didn't want this to happen again so she had a point. " Well... Then tell me what I can do to prove you that I really just want to help" Klara didn't like the tension between them, she just wanted to help and why not befriend with the thief but for that Emori had to believe that Klara didn't mean to harm her. But she knew it was hard to trust others especially when they weren't of the same clan. However, she also knew that sometimes you don't have the choice and trusting someone you don't know can be your only chance. Seeing how carefully she was listening at her while she was explaining her job, Klara understood that Emori wasn't familiar with the clans and the job you can have when you're part of one. But she didn't want to make the girl withdraw into herself because she asked her questions that she didn't want to answer to. So, she just kept this in mind in case they began to speak later. And as Emori said that she had to be good at her job, Klara answered " In this job it's not only your skills that count, luck is also a huge factor..." Survival wasn't something easy even when you had skills but Klara had a feeling like she didn't need to tell this to Emori, because if her instinct was right, surviving was probably the life of the thief. And Klara was well placed to know that. Realizing that her reaction was maybe a little excessive, Klara took a deep breath to relax a little, Emori had really uspet her saying that but it wasn't a good reason to yell at her like that. Once she calmed down, Klara said " You know, you should maybe consider staying for a bit longer than what you think if you want to be almost sure to get out of Trikru territory safe... Warriors are going to look for you for a while..." It wouldn't be safe for Emori to try to run away from Trikru territory until the warriors stop looking for her so she would have to stay there for a little while. But Klara will be here to help her until the time to go. Once Klara had sat down, she watched Emori crouching down next to her and tearing her shirt to have a piece of cloth to stop the bleeding. Then, when the thief told her that she needed to try not to make too much noice, Klara gave her a little smile before nodding at her " Don't worry for me, just do it." Klara knew that it was going to be painful but she was ready for that. seren1

The last weeks had been quite intensive for Klara and probably for most of Trikru scouts. Indeed, loads of them had been sent to learn as much as they could about the invaders who fell from sky. So, once again, Klara had had to leave the orphans she take care of in TonDC when she received the order to go on mission. After gathering plenty informations thanks to all the scouts sent, the orders had changed and the scouts had now to watch carefully and of course discreetly the Sky people. That was why Klara was in the woods this day. She was walking from her hiding place to the invaders camp, her weapons with her. As she was getting closer to the camp, she heard some noises but the person making these noises was actually getting away from there. She decided to go see who was making these noises. So Klara quietly got closer to the sounds but once she got there, she saw a girl from Sky people struggling with... An Azgeda warrior! Normally, Klara wouldn't have help the girl, she wasn't supposed to do so but right at the moment, she had this feeling like she had to do something. She couldn't explain why but she had to do it, plus the Skaikru girl wasn't attacked by any grounder, she was attacked by an Azgeda warrior. And everybody knew how Azgeda and Trikru hated each other so Klara shouldn't have any problems because she fought against an Azgeda warrior who was on Trikru territory by the way. As she saw the other grounder stabbing the girl next to her stomach, Klara got out of her hiding place and after throwing one of her small blade in the grounder's forearm, she took her sword and came between the girl and her enemy. She quickly glanced at the girl to see if she was okay before blocking the Azgeda warrior's attack. She looked behind her once again while putting all her strength trying to repel her opponent's blade " Go find somewhere to hide!" Klara knew the girl wouldn't be able to go very far so she will be able to find her in one of the hiding places around once she will be done with her opponent. Ava McKenzie

It was a beautiful and quiet night... The perfect night to wander around alone in the woods after spending the whole day taking care of the orphans. This day had been a day like every others when Klara wasn't on a mission and she enjoyed that kind of day where she could spend time with the kids, having fun with them and sometimes teaching them some new things.
But this day was also a special day for her, it was the sad anniversary of the death of her mother. It happened years ago but still Klara wasn't over it. She would probably never totally get over it actually. She couldn't help thinking that maybe if she had had more healer skills, she could have saved her mother.
That was why, after checking if all the orphans were sleeping, Klara had decided to go walking around the village, she needed to take some air. After walking for a moment, she found herself in a small glade so she sat down and just looked at the stars thinking that maybe her mother was one of them.

Since Clarke wanted her to get some rest in the tent, Klara had gotten in but she decided that she will settle not far from the tent entry to be ready to defend herself and protect her companions if something happened. She quietly watched Clarke as the girl was checking if every sides of the tent were closed. Then she put her weapons next to her and she lay down even if she knew she wasn't going to fall asleep very quickly. Klara was lying on the ground, eyes closed, just trying to relax a little, when Clarke spoke. She could feel her friend's eyes on her but she didn't open her eyes and just let a little smile appear on her face. Klara opened her eyes at Clarke next words " As trust isn't something common these days, I'm honored to know that you trust me." She knew that Clarke trusted her but she just wanted her to know how glad she was to have a friend like her. Then Klara took a more serious tone before saying " You shouldn't believe in me that much... It was easy to find hiding place in woods I explore since I'm four years old. But finding a bunker for everyone is another thing." Clarke Griffin

Klara didn't want to talk about her life to Emori, she was still a stranger. But apparently, the thief understood that and Klara was thankful for her not to insist. After all, everybody had some things they didn't want to talk about especially with strangers. Actually, the scout was pretty sure that Emori was keeping things from her too and she didn't mind it. If she wanted to say something, Klara would listen but she won't make her speak about something she didn't want to talk about. " I know, I was joking... Why are you that much on the defensive? I just want to help..." Klara didn't expected an answer to that question, it was just that the girl seemed to overeact everytime Klara said something. The scout was aware of what would have happened to Emori if she had left her in Trikru territory on her own. That was why she had done what she did. Klara noticed how surprised the thief seemed to be when she spoke about getting hurt quite often. She assumed that the girl didn't know much about the scout life. She probably didn't know much about life in a clan neither. Klara didn't recognize any of the clans when she looked at Emori so she assumed she was a nomad. But honestly, Klara didn't really care about where she was from. " Well... As a scout, I need to get very close to dangerous people sometimes to get the informations I've been sent to get... But when I'm not on a mission I prefer to avoid dangerous people too." When she wasn't on mission, she spent time with the orphans, taking care of them but she also liked spending some time on her own in the woods. That was what she was doing when Emori attacked her. Klara was aware that her injury could have been worse but it was what she had to handle for saving the thief and it didn't make her regreting what she did even if Emori was beginning to get on Klara's nerves. The scout could understand that the girl was on the defensive after what happened but she didn't like the fact that the girl was treating her of being selfish. " Listen, I know you don't trust me and I don't ask you to because honestly I don't trust you either. But one of the first things you'll learn about me is that I'm not the kind of person who only thinks about herself. I think others more or at least as important as myself." Klara could have just came back to TonDC to see a healer and she could have handled the questions about what happened. But she didn't, she decided to help the girl until the end knowing that if she didn't go after her to help her hiding, the thief's chances to get out of Trikru territory without walking into warriors weren't very high. So Emori didn't have the right to say that Klara did that because it was better for herself. She wasn't like that, she put others first. Klara got in the cave first letting to Emori all the time she needed to follow her. " Make yourself comfortable" Klara said when she noticed that the girl finally came in. As Emori told her to sit so she could take a look at her wound, Klara gave her a smile and said " Okay. Thank you for doing that." before sitting down. seren1

" Stop, you're going to make me blush." Klara said smiling at her friend before adding " Seriously, you know I will probably never believe it. Not that I don't believe what you say but I just can't..." Klara answered. Klara wasn't the best person in the world, she had done some bad things too. And knowing that nobody was perfect didn't make her any better. But she was also aware that the things you had to do to survive didn't have to define you, that was why she got to know Clarke and was now her friend. " Yeah, some wounds don't heal easily even after a long time... But with some more time and some speaking, they always end up healed. But by the time they do, other wounds have appeared because people don't know diplomacy, they only understand violence..." That was a sad thing to say but unfortunately it was true. Loads of people were all about violence and didn't seem to be able to give some love to others. Clarke and Klara weren't like these people, they were able to hug each other and to feel how good it felt to hug someone. " I definitely like this idea" Klara said smiling. As Clarke told her before, they should rest so after glancing at the two other grounders for a moment and even if she didn't trust them at all, Klara went in the tent wanting to get in it before she changed her mind. Listening to Clarke, Klara found herself smiling at the girl as she was saying how glad she was to have a friend like her. " You should stop saying that or I will end up believing it." She said giving her a wink to let her know she was joking. Then she took a more serious tone and added " More seriously, that's not that I want to defend people... But I don't think they're all hypocrites. I think a part of them don't know how to deal with their war crimes so they don't even trust themselves which makes trusting someone else very difficult... But the others are just stupid people who don't see how a wonderful person you are." And when Clarke told her she hadn't been hugged in a while, Klara told her " I haven't been hugged a lot when I was a child so I got a lot of hugs in stock if you need." Klara knew that Clarke was right, the fact that they had no reasons to trust the others shouldn't prevent them from resting and sleeping otherwise their mission was doomed to failure and it couldn't happen. But if she had to go in the tent to try to get some sleep, Klara would keep her dagger with her during the night to be able to protect the others if something happened. " Okay, I'm coming. Let's just hope you're right about them." Klara told her friend, she trusted her so if she thought that the two others could manage to keep watch them she was ready to let them a chance. Seeing that the girl was bleeding from two points on her leg, Klara had assumed that the bullet had gone through the other scout's leg. Otherwise she wouldn't have brought her that far to make her climb a rock because Klara knew that moving someone with a bullet stucked in their body was very dangerous. So Klara wouldn't have let the girl down, she would have helped her without moving her too much to make sure that she didn't lose the use of her leg even if it meant they would have been more insecure.
Klara knew that her plan to make the other scout climb the rock wasn't the best plan ever but they were running out of time so they couldn't waste what hey had left trying to find a better idea. So, except if the girl had a better plan in which case Klara would be happy to hear it, they would have to follow her plan. And at the injured scout words, Klara understood that she didn't have anything better so they would have to climb together.
The girl quickly found a solid grip not needing Klara to indicate her one, then she put her hand on the former thief's shoulder. And before the latter one could ask her if she was ready, the girl hoisted herself up so Klara began to go up adapting her speed to the girl's one and leading her so she could find the best grips on her way up. She knew that rock quite well, she had climbed it loads of time. Klara didn't linger at the top of the rock, climbing down as fast as she could. But it wasn't fast enough for the girl to be able to get down properly. So when she saw her sliding from the top of the rock, Klara managed to be at the right place to be able to cushion the impact. Once she was down, the girl asked Klara about depth of the cave "Deep enough for us to start a fire when we will be in the large room of the cave where there is everything we need to make the fire and to take a look at your leg." Klara answered the girl with a smile. She was a lot more relaxed now that they had reached the cave and that there were only few steps left before they could sit down and take care of the girl's injury.

" I have to keep some of my mystery otherwise you might not be following me right now." Klara told Emori a little smile on her face. She could see on the other girl's face that her part of answer hadn't fed the thief's curiosity but Klara wasn't ready to tell her her whole story, to reveal her past. She was still a stranger. Plus, Klara wasn't sure she could give Emori what she wanted to hear. She could barely explain to herself why she helped this girl, it was all about that feeling she had like she needed to do something. Something pushed her to do what she did. Maybe it was because of her past or maybe she felt that the girl was someone good and deserved a second chance. Klara needed to figure that out before being able to answer to Emori's questions. " I know. And if it all happened again I would have done the same. I'm definitly not blaming you for this." Klara didn't mean to make the girl feel like she was blaming her for that arrow but maybe it hadn't been really clear the first time she said it. " Getting hurt is part of my job... I was trained as a scout so I don't really care to get hurt, I'm kind of used to it." Getting injured could happened almost everytime in a scout life, but even if it was paintful, knowing that it was to save a life make it better. Then as they were speaking about her wound and the girl answered her question, Klara said " Thanks. At least it shouldn't be deadly so I guess I can say I'm lucky." There wasn't any vital organs in a shoulder so the worst that could happen to Klara was losing the use of her arm if the injury got seriously infected which was hopefully not going to happen. And unfortunately she couldn't go see healers to make sure of that. She couldn't take that risk. " Yeah, one sure thing is that it's better for both of us if no questions about what happened get asked." It was better for both of them, for Emori because Klara wasn't going to betrayed her by saying everything she knew and explaining how she helped but also for her because she couldn't afford to be asked questions about why she helped a thief who was trying to rob her. After thinking about that, Klara realized they were arrived so she informed Emori " Here we are! Come in." she said tilting her head to invite the girl to enter the cave. seren1

Klara appreciated that Artigas tried to make her feel better but she was still sorry and nothing that the warrior could say would make her less sorry. She listened to him as he said that he wasn't a child, that he could look after himself, Klara could see that by herself, she didn't doubt of that and it didn't change how she felt. What he said then touched her more, she was now more than certain he was going to be a very great warrior, he had such values. She let him finish before telling him " You know what... I'm glad you... were with me today... because now... I can say that... I know one of... our future best warriors... Because with such values... I'm certain that you're going to be... such an amazing warrior Artigas..." If they had more warriors like him their people should be more than safe. Klara could feel that Artigas was sorry to have asked about her family back in TonDC. " It's okay... You couldn't know..." she said trying to make him feel better like he did before. Then when he told her that he was her friend so that made them family, a smile appeared on Klara's face " I guess so... So how should... I call you now?... Strik bro?" she chuckled. She was just trying to let Artigas know that she wasn't going to give up and she also wanted to clear the atmosphere a little bit even if it was a hard thing to do when your life is at stake but if it could help both of them relaxing a little Klara was ready to make some jokes. However she also kept something in mind: the orphans. She still wasn't sure if she will make it to TonDC but she had to make sure that they would be safe whatever happened. So after taking a more serious air Klara asked Artigas " I know that... you have already done a lot for me... and I'm grateful for that but... I have a favor to ask you..." she stopped there wanting to make sure he agreed to honor her favor in case she didn't get to TonDC alive. Artigas

Klara was glad that Clarke stepped into the hug but she felt like her grin was hiding something. " Hey, can you at least tell me what's hiding behind that grin on your beautiful face?" Klara asked a smile full of concern on her face. Clarke was a very good friend which made her family for Klara so she was worried about her like any member of a family could be for his relatives. Klara was like that with all her friends and people she considered as family. She was worried and could be overprotective. That was how she was, in need to know that everyone she cared about was okay. But with Clarke it was different, loads of people saw her as Wanheda because of what she had to do in Mount Weather but Klara was one of the few who didn't and she kept seeing what was best in her friend. " Well... I was going to stay out here and be on guard for a moment... And before you say anything I know it's not my job but I also know I'm not the only one not trusting the two others... But if you want me to share the tent with you, I'm coming." Klara said with a smile for the last part. If she was in the tent with Clarke it meant that she could still protect her so she was totally okay with this idea. Plus, it would probably be more comfortable than being sit on some tree stump alone or with people she didn't trust not far from her. Clarke Griffin

If Klara hadn't known the area as well as she did,the girls' chances to stay alive would have been much lower and Klara was aware of that. For one of the first time in her life, she was glad she had spent so much time outside of TonDC alone in the woods. It was very useful now that she was a scout, it could help in cases like this where she had to move quite fast but also tobe careful where she walked.
The other girl seemed to believe in Klara's reassurances, apparently she was an optimist and it kind of give Klara back the little hope she had lost. So she kept leading the other scout as well as she could, more determined than ever. She had to do that if not for herself at least for the other girl. They were almost at the cave now so it should be okay even if she could hear the voices of their pursuers behind them.
Klara was aware that it would probably be a little difficult for the girl to climb the rock and if the latter had told her that she didn't thought she could do it, Klara would have understood and would have thought of another place to hide. But as the girl said that she could handle it, Klara was glad she won't have to waste time think of the nearest place to hide which was easier to access and she was also happy to see that the other scout seemed to trust her. She let the girl make the last few steps on her own, watching how much she hobbled to get an idea of how bad her injury was but she didn't see much there. Then at the girl's words, Klara said "Of course." she wasn't going to let her climb without helping her. "I can carry you so you can reach the top of the rock and get there at the strength of your arms if you think you can do this. Then you can wait for me up there and I will get down first so I can catch you up just in case." Klara proposed to the girl.
