A sliver of moonlight crept through the canopy of leaves, illuminating the path for the wandering soul. It was a quiet evening, with only the sound of wind rustling the foliage heard around her. Each step was slow, and seemingly silent as Lilith moved between the trees.

There had always been something about the dead of night that instilled her with a feeling of ease, or calm serenity, but most of all, peace. Lilith had always understood the chemistry of peace. Many of the Trikru seemed too but age, and experience, and time proved to be the enemy of all things.

Lilith and the others had been covered in war paint, their hearts hardened and emotions steeled. Now, a mature woman, it seemed the only times she was at ease was when she was alone in the forests. The clan knew where she was – it was only natural they did.

But for the moment she was alone, occasionally stargazing...and at peace.

It was a beautiful and quiet night... The perfect night to wander around alone in the woods after spending the whole day taking care of the orphans. This day had been a day like every others when Klara wasn't on a mission and she enjoyed that kind of day where she could spend time with the kids, having fun with them and sometimes teaching them some new things.

But this day was also a special day for her, it was the sad anniversary of the death of her mother. It happened years ago but still Klara wasn't over it. She would probably never totally get over it actually. She couldn't help thinking that maybe if she had had more healer skills, she could have saved her mother.

That was why, after checking if all the orphans were sleeping, Klara had decided to go walking around the village, she needed to take some air. After walking for a moment, she found herself in a small glade so she sat down and just looked at the stars thinking that maybe her mother was one of them.

It seemed that these moments of peace were always few and far between, and never lasted as long as one wanted. It was while Lilith had her face turned toward the night sky, watching a star streak across the landscape as the hum of insect soothed her wild soul, that a noise had caught her attention.

Lilith had not seen or sensed the other woman’s presence but her feathers were familiar. That long black hair, those striking eyes, even from this distance she recognised the newcomer as the woman that cared for some of the orphans back in the village.

Her mismatched hues stared at the woman while no motions were made to approach her. Lilith only watched her from a distance for the moment, wondering what it was that drew this woman to the peace of this glade.

It was so good to breathe the fresh air of the silent night, to look at this wonderful sky full of stars. Looking at them, Klara remembered some of the great times she had with her mother and a small tear ran down her cheek. These times were far away now. Now, the little girl who lost her mother had become some sort of mother for the younger orphans and a big sister for the olders.

Seeing a shooting star, Klara wished that her mother would be glad of what her daughter had become even if Klara wasn't really proud of everything she had to do to get there. After all, everybody already had to do something they didn't want to and they weren't proud of but they had to live with it and Klara was like everybody, she lived with what she had done.

Suddenly, Klara felt watched so she looked around and it's only then that she noticed the other girl who was sitting in the glade not far from her. Klara was quite sure she had already seen her in TonDC so she decided to get closer to get acquainted. "Sky is beautiful tonight... It's amazing to see all these stars shining..." Klara told the girl as she was coming next to her.

Lilith had not moved yet, had not spoken a word or made a sound as she other woman became that she was no longer alone. Klara spoke and Lilith silently agreed with what was said; the sky and stars were beautiful but the mutual appreciation was not enough to sooth her uncertainty as she came closer. Lilith was immediately on the defence, her muscle tensed and coiled in anticipation of an attack or the need for a sudden retreat.

A low growl rumbled from deep within her throat, a warning to not come any closer and it was the only sound that the woman made. Lilith did not speak, did not utter a word and only watched the female with an intense gaze. There was a mild curiosity but a lingering suspicion as the stranger settled beside her. Lilith wondered if this woman was after something in particular or simply making small talk.
