Costia could hear people in the back, arguing, she thought that the argument sounded a little one sided as she could only hear a single voice yelling. The voice of a girl. She didn't mean to eavesdrop on their conversation but it was difficult not to at the volume in which the girl was yelling at whoever was back there with her. Even so, she only caught snippets of the argument, they were talking about somebody who was missing and she definitely heard the words Skaikru and reapers. That wasn't a good combination. Tightening her grip on her spear until her knuckles turned white, she stood waiting until eventually a man emerged.
Guessing that this was whom the girl had been arguing with Costia stood aside so that the man could leave unopposed. He was dressed for a long journey, wearing practical clothing and he carried a bag with him. If she had to guess, she'd say that he didn't intend on returning to the post any time soon. At his words Costia let out a grunt of acknowledgement, Niylah would see to her, this left her wondering who Niylah was, probably the girl who had been doing all of the yelling. Before another minute passed her suspicions were answered as a woman emerged from out the back, she looked a little older than Costia herself but she guessed that there was only a couple of years between them.
Costia arched an eyebrow questioningly at the girl, relaxing her grip on her spear a little as she watched her intently "Trade?" she questioned as Niylah spoke, a smirk playing on her lips "Maybe" she spoke softly, almost cautiously as she took a couple of steps towards the counter. As the girl spoke again Costia let out a small chuckle "No, I have not been here before... I rarely get a moment to myself, my time is taken up by my duty to my village, I don't usually have the time to travel to trading posts such as this one" Laying a hand on the counter Costia met Niylah's gaze "I guess that all depends on what you have to trade, if I'm perfectly honest I'm in no hurry to leave, the silence in here is a welcome change from the fast pace of my village" she offered Niylah a small smile, one that seemed genuine but you could never tell with warriors. "But I'll offer you a tip, such a pretty face should not waste time frowning when a smile could easily lift your spirits" the smile that the trader was wearing was so obviously fake it was painful. Costia knew of fake happiness, she often used the very same smile to trick Lexa sometimes if she was displeased and did not want the Commander to know.[/p][/font] amber4

It was early morning, the sun had barely risen and a soft drizzle fell from the sky, giving moisture to the land. A young woman trekked through the forest, she wore what appeared to be an overcoat of fur over her clothes that otherwise didn't look particularly warm. However, she didn't look like the cool morning air bothered her, she was probably used to the conditions. She held a spear in her hand and a sword rested on her hip, both these weapons were signs that the girl was a well trained warrior and therefore a force to be reckoned with if anybody were to challenge her.
Her name was Costia, she was a warrior of The Woods Clan and a close 'friend' of the Commanders. Ordinarily she would either be in Polis at the Commanders side or in the village of Tondc, seeing to her duty as a warrior. She frequently travelled between the two places, torn between her desire to be with Lexa and her duty to her village. Costia was done for the moment, Lexa was in Polis and busy with official work, she didn't have time for relationships at the moment, her duty as Heda did put a strain on their relationship.
Costia was travelling to a nearby trading post, that was why she had left the village so early, before many of the villagers had awoken. Before Gustus had awoken, he would assume that she'd left for Polis. But no, she was looking to go to the trading post to barter for some goods, maybe she hoped to find something of use, or maybe something would interest her and she would be forced to trade for it by an overwhelming desire to possess it. Or maybe the girl just wished to be away from the people she knew, take some time out where she no longer had to worry about her duties to her people, or to Lexa and she wouldn't be reminded of the troubles that they faced.
Seeing lights ahead, Costia picked up the pace, emerging from the trees to be confronted by a building. It wasn't particularly large, but it was obviously what she had been looking for. Confidently she strode forwards, pushing open the doors to step inside. Blinking rapidly to allow her eyes to adjust to the light from within. "Hei?" hello? she called out in trigedasleng, the native language that her people used. She assumed that the trader could not be far, they would not leave their post when their was a chance that thieves could take a chance and steal all of what they owned. The only way she could think to describe the trading post was that it was a very organised mess. To the untrained eye, it looked to be piled high with clutter, but it was obvious that the owner, whoever they were, knew exactly where everything was and had no problem in locating an item when it was needed.

| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ |
.:Name:. Costia .:Nick Name:. No nicknames .:Affiliation:. The Coalition, Lexa, Trikru .:Age:. 20
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Costia is of average height, she has pale skin and jet black hair that falls in waves down past her shoulders. Often parts of her hair are braided, which isn't unusual amongst the grounders. She is often seen wearing clothes that are made of naturally coloured cloth and when the weather gets particularly cold she wears clothes that are made of an assortment of animal furs. Costia has several scars on her shoulders, the largest being the mark that symbolises that she is a warrior of her clan, the others symbolising each and every human life she has taken as taking a life whilst in battle is seen as an honourable thing and nobody can become a warrior before they make their first kill. She also has several tattoos, one on her wrist which is a jagged angry design in black ink. The other is on her lower back, this one is more gentle with its design and is also in black ink, she says that the two symbolise the two sides to her life, the dutiful, fierce warrior that she has trained to be and the gentler side to her which her friends have come to know. .:Height:. 5'5 .:Portrayed by:. Olga Kurylenko
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Costia has two sides to her personality, the smaller portion of her life is being the warrior that she has spent her life training to be, she is a fierce, deadly warrior in battle and when she wishes to be, but this is only a small part of who she is. Those who bother to get to know her will find that she is a kind girl, always looking to better the days of those who perhaps are feeling a little down. She goes about her duties without complaint and is often the first to volunteer to patrol their territory for signs of trouble. She is undeniably loyal to her clan and the Heda, but maybe that links back to the relationship she holds with the Commander. She values the life that she leads in her village and there aren't a lot of people whom she doesn't get along with, the fact that she can be such a skilled warrior, willing to take a life so quickly and without hesitation and still be the caring soul that you see on an average day within the village of Tondc would no doubt surprise some people. But it is who she is, she understands her duty, loves the power she has to protect her people from harm but at the same time would never dream of harming somebody without provocation. .:Special Skills:. Costia is fluent in the English language, she was trained to speak it when she began her training as a warrior. She also is skilled in spear throws and a talented swordsman. However she has some flaws as does everybody, she is unable to learn the basics in archery and isn't really good with poisons either, she prefers to kill using her own weapons, not relying on a poison when there is a risk, however small, of catching yourself with the blade.

.:Birthplace:. Earth, Tondc .:Family:. Mother and father (both deceased) .:Occupation:. Warrior .:History:.
Costia grew up in the village of Tondc, her parents died when she was very young... She wasn't even two when they were slaughtered by a patrol of Azgeda warriors close to the border they shared with the Trikru. After the death of her parents she was taken in by her 'uncle' Gustus who treated her as if she were his own daughter. Gustus was not her biological uncle... But the fact that Costia was not related to him by blood didn't make him less eager to act as a parent to the child. Apart from the absence of her parents she had a fairly normal childhood, sparring with the other children, learning more about their history and their culture. Costia grew up with a best friend, as most children did... They did everything together, sparred, learnt to hunt, even on occasion they would sneak away from the village and pretend to be brave warriors fighting the Azgeda army. Her name was Lexa and the pair were inseperable... When the time came for them to begin their training Costia watched proudly from the side-lines as Anya selected Lexa to be her second, Gustus chose to mentor Costia himself and she did not protest, she thought that it would be great fun for her mentor to be her adoptive father. She wasn't exactly wrong in these assumptions... Gustus pushed her hard, he didn't go easy on her and often she would retire to bed at night beaten and bruised, her limbs aching from the hard day of training and then she'd be up at the crack of dawn to begin again. However, Costia never once complained, she enjoyed the brutality of the training because she knew that the harder she trained the better a warrior she would become. When she was fifteen she began to develop feelings... Romantic feelings towards Lexa and she was scared of these feelings, not because of the fact that these feelings were aimed towards a girl (because we know that sexuality doesn't matter in The 100's world) but because of who these feelings were directed towards. She was terrified that Lexa would not return her feelings and that she would be totally freaked out at the idea of her best friend harbouring this massive crush on her. But she had little to fear, a couple of months after these feelings developed, Costia finally plucked up the courage to tell her friend how she felt about her and to her delight, Lexa revealed that she felt the same way but had not wanted to complicate their relationship by revealing such a secret. They began 'dating' (or the grounder equivalent?) and neither of them had ever been happier. However, when they were both sixteen it was revealed that Lexa was to be the next Commander as the previous one had died and their spirit had chosen her... This complicated their relationship somewhat because of Lexa's added responsibilities to her clan and the new coalition that she had planned to form but they never once doubted the feelings they held for each other and never once questioned their relationship.
