As she watched Lexa walk back into the room and approach her, she felt her hands touch her face, cupping her jaw in both her hands, Costia was forced to meet her gaze. "I feel as if there is this wall between us Lexa, it was never there before and I do not understand why it is there now" she told her. She'd never felt this way back before Lexa became the Heda, or even before Costia was taken by Azgeda, she felt like everything had changed between them, it was even more isolating in Polis, Costia really only had Lexa to talk to, Gustus was back in Tondc, as were all of the friends she had come to know growing up in the village. She nodded at Lexa's words, accepting that she'd prefer to stay with her before they marched into battle. Maybe it was the need Costia felt to be close to Lexa that prevented her from leaving or the fact that Lexa wanted her to stay. "Scared people are often dangerous Lexa" she muttered, knowing how many warriors often underestimated the ability of their foes just because they appeared to be scared. As Lexa leaned in to kiss her, Costia momentarily pulled away, as if unsure about the display of affection. However, after the initial hesitation had passed, the warrior leaned in to kiss her, the affection had been missed. Costia couldn't remember the last time they'd touched like this, it wasn't unwanted, she was just unsure of it.

"You are an excellent teacher Lexa" Costia chuckled softly as she watched Lexa's hand trailing along her arm. It was a comforting motion to her, it allowed her to relax. Closing her eyes the warrior felt content to just lay there. She could feel Lexa's breath on her neck from where she was resting her chin on her shoulder, it didn't bother her, in fact it helped her to relax further, she knew that moments like these were rare and the closeness that they shared distracted her from the pain in her shoulder and the thoughts of how Trikru were going to retaliate after the attack."If it means that much to you Lexa, I'll avoid questioning it in future" she muttered in response to her lovers words. She just wanted Lexa to be happy and if that meant becoming Heda then she wasn't going to object. In truth she hadn't actually realised how much becoming Heda meant to Lexa, she knew that it was a great honour to be chosen for the rank but personally she hadn't known that Lexa wanted it that much or that it meant 'everything' to her. As Lexa began to run her fingers through Costia's hair, the girl let out a sigh of contentment. As Lexa's fingers trailed down to squeeze her leg, Costia visibly stiffened as a timid smile played upon her lips "Really? Maybe I should feel honoured that I'm the only one that gets to see your smile" she muttered as she felt her lips touch her neck and her smile broadened "Of course part of me feels sorry for everybody else, your smile is so beautiful Lexa..." she told her, bringing her hand down to trail along Lexa's leg, copying her lovers movements. amber3

"It happened, but it could have been avoided" Costia muttered, closing her eyes against the images that flooded her mind whenever somebody reminded her of the time Azgeda had tried to take advantage of her relationship with the Commander. The time in which she had been tortured for information that she did not possess. She never wanted to be in that position again, she never again wanted to feel the pain she had to endure as a prisoner of the Ice Queen. More than her desire for self-preservation, Costia knew how much it pained Lexa to see her hurting, how much it worried her that history could repeat itself and she would do almost anything to keep her from harm. As Lexa turned to face her, Costia felt a small twinge of guilt spark in her gut at the look in her eyes. The warrior could read her lover fairly easily most of the time, unless Lexa was trying particularly hard to block her out. They'd spent the majority of their lives together, she'd learnt almost everything about her during that time. The things that she loved, the things that she hated, her favourite places to be and favourite things to do and yet, there was so much that remained a mystery to Costia, things that Lexa either couldn't tell her or wouldn't. "I trust your judgement Lexa, we will do what we must to protect our people and keep them from harm" she took a moment to clear her throat, to rid her voice of anything that might betray the emotions that had been wrestling within her moments ago. "Our losses will be great, even if we do take them by surprise, there is no denying that... Their technology, their advanced weaponry, I do not doubt the armies capabilities, we have taken down bigger armies than that of the Skaikru, but I do think that you're underestimating the damage that their weapons can do" sub-consciously she lowered herself to sit upon the bed, her gaze never leaving Lexa. This was a more comfortable position for her to be in, a familiar position that Lexa would not see as challenging, it was relaxed."I do not see how the Sky People or the Mountain Men would ever find out about us Lexa, we are not exactly on speaking terms" the warrior muttered, it wasn't exactly meant to come out sounding like a joke, but it did. However there was truth in the words, Costia and Lexa rarely showed affection in public, those moments were reserved for their time alone, when they could go undisturbed. "When we do wipe out Skaikru, we'll still have the Mountain to worry about, the question still remains which is the bigger threat? The old enemy whom continues to take our people into the mountain for an unknown reason or the new enemy that has been slaughtering anybody who they view as a threat, even if that means slaughtering children" the warriors heart wept for the people Skaikru had slaughtered in Tondc, the children that were rumoured to have died there. At Lexa's words, Costia watched her intently, a questioning look upon her face "What would you have me do Lexa? Should I go? Or should I stay?" Costia asked her, folding her hands in her lap as she awaited what she viewed as a straightforward answer.

"It would be nice... To spend a whole day with you" Costia sighed, but it was a sigh of contentment, she was truly happy when she was in Lexa's arms. Most of the time the couple had their own duties occupying their minds, Lexa's duty as a nightblood, Costia's as a young warrior for her clan. The idea of training all day didn't worry her, grounder training was brutal, often she'd sparred with the other seconds and although they were not allowed to kill, it could get brutal enough, there was no equipment to train, they used real weapons and you had to be in complete control if you wanted to avoid seriously wounding your opponent or yourself. "Will I be even better than you?" Costia asked her teasingly, a smirk on her face. She'd seen Lexa fight, it was incredible how talented she was and Costia was happy that she'd never be on the receiving end of her sword. Costia smiled at her words "As long as you are by my side I do not care where we go Lexa" she told her, her words genuine, they could go live in the dead zone for all that she cared as long as she had Lexa for company. "But Lexa... Do you want to become Heda?" she suddenly asked one of the many questions that floundered around in her mind. She'd never asked it before because with Lexa being a nightblood, the thought of her becoming the next commander just seemed so natural. However, nobody ever asked if it was what she wanted, even if she had no choice. As Lexa kissed her, Costia briefly leaned into the kiss, this was a side of Lexa that was only reserved for her. Here they were not duty bound, they were not two warriors who'd been trained all their lives for war. They were just two girls, two normal girls whose love for each other could go unchallenged. As Lexa pulled away from the kiss and spoke about her smile, Costia couldn't help but shake her head "I watch you when you're out there, you smile, but not like you do when you're in here with me" she told her with a sigh. "I don't know, you seem to be under so much pressure" it was true that Lexa barely had any free time, Anya was strict with her training and Costia knew that this was necessary, because of Lexa's extra responsibility of being a Nightblood, but she didn't like it, she wished that Lexa could just be left alone like the other seconds.

"You don't have to prove anything to me Lexa" Costia muttered as the Commander walked to stand on her balcony. She knew that she'd crossed the line and although she didn't wish to put Lexa in a difficult position she felt as if everything she had said, had needed to be said. A warrior was supposed to fight, it was what they knew, what they were trained for. Just as she was about to give up and give in to the idea that Lexa would never allow her to join the battle she heard the Commander's next words. "Lexa, the opportunity to fight is all that I ask for, I do not care where you put me, I just do not wish to be treated like a child" she told her, following the Commanders movements carefully. "I am more concerned that you do not seem to be afraid, fear is what keeps you alive Lexa" she muttered, her voice now displayed no emotion, it was neither relieved, nor angry. "I have no intention of being used by anyone ever again Lexa" lowering her gaze she resisted the urge to shudder, those memories still haunted her, they were memories that she wanted to forget but knew she would never be able leave that in the past, but she had to try. As she heard movement, she looked up to see Lexa had turned to face her and she found that she was nodding along to her words "I give you my word Lexa, I will obey your every word, I will not disobey you" she dipped her head out of respect to the Commander. "I understand, in battle you are my superior, I am your subject, I promise that I will not be disobedient" amber3

"I'm sorry" Costia mumbled, she could tell that Lexa didn't like the topic "You know that I don't mean to upset you" she breathed, closing her eyes she managed a small smile, she treasured moments like these, where she could just spend time with Lexa without any interruptions. Anya and Gustus would be busy for a while tending to the wounded and maybe even thinking about launching a counter attack on Azgeda for what they did today. Of course usually Costia didn't speak of the darker things that plagued her mind, she didn't wish to worry Lexa with them, to upset her with her negative thoughts, but they were always there. "Maybe tomorrow you can help me adjust to using my other arm, I can't do much with my sword arm whilst it's healing, it's frustrating" she muttered, it was a weak attempt at changing the topic, to occupy Lexa's mind with something else other than the morbid thoughts Costia had planted in her mind. She sat up, turning her head to face Lexa, her own smile broadening as she noticed the one on Lexa's face. Her smile was so beautiful, so perfect and yet Costia rarely saw it. "The way you speak of Polis, it just sounds so different from Tondc..." she spoke with a wary tone. The idea of Polis fascinated her, she had never been of course, her job was to remain in Tondc and protect the villagers there. She loved her life in Tondc, the villagers were like an extended family to her, it was dangerous, Azgeda was a constant threat, as was the mountain and of course the natural predators of the world that would sometimes take a chance if they were particularly hungry. However Costia loved the thrill that village life gave her, to walk out in to the forest early in the morning and hear all the sounds of the forest. To never know what's going to happen the next day, the not knowing was what made it so appealing, one day was never the same as the next. Polis sounded so safe, so predictable. However, if it was where Lexa was going then Costia would of course follow. She'd follow her anywhere. As Lexa spoke about how she wouldn't lose her and commented on Costia's talent as a warrior the girl couldn't help but chuckle, She found the sentence amusing and thought that Lexa couldn't be that naïve. If that is what she wanted to believe, to give her peace of mind then she would allow her to believe it. "I love you" she muttered, raising her hand she brought it up to stroke her face, "you should smile more... It suits you" she told her, looking into her lovers eyes as she studied her. She could look at her for hours, she'd never get tired of being near her, of the closeness that they shared, it wasn't possible. amber3

Costia's eyes never left Lexa as she pulled her hands free of her grasp and moved back to stand beside the bed "Did you expect the ring of fire that killed three hundred Trikru warriors?" she questioned her "or the assassin that snuck into our village and MURDERED eighteen innocent people?!" her own hands balled into fists as she spoke, a slight quiver in her voice giving away the emotions that she tried to hide away inside. "These people are unpredictable, you do not know what they are capable of, have you ever met an army that can wipe out a whole unit without even drawing a weapon?! What if their technology allows them to use other weapons, like the mountain men". She looked down to her hands briefly, either unable to meet Lexa's gaze or else unwilling to. "I do not mean to question your abilities Heda, but... if these people managed to wipe out a whole unit of the Trikru army with minimal losses, now there are more of them, wouldn't it be wiser to relocate, we could avoid losing anymore of our people" she knew that Lexa would never go for such an idea, it probably sounded weak, like the words of a coward. The Skaikru had murdered eighteen innocents, Blood must have blood, vengeance was needed. As Lexa spoke, the glare returned to Costia's face "So tell me Heda" she hissed, her anger boiling up again "are you ordering me to remain in Polis? Do you wish to treat me like a prisoner, forbidden from leaving the capitol just because you are afraid?" she'd lived in Tondc her whole life until Lexa was chosen to be the next Commander and she asked Costia to come with her to live in the capitol. "You say that you love me, why then do I feel as if this is a lie?!" she snapped at her, "everything was so much simpler before you became Heda" she trailed off to mutter those final words. Back before Lexa became Heda, everything was so much easier, they never fought like this, Lexa never had to choose between her duty and her heart and she definitely never tried to control Costia, not that she had the authority to do so anyway. At the mention of Titus, Costia visibly stiffened. She knew that Lexa trusted him and that he was the flamekeeper and had been a part of her life ever since her Conclave. However Costia didn't like him, he always seemed to be interfering, whispering in Lexa's ear. "A distraction? That's ridiculous! I have fought in battles before, you know that! You know that I am more than capable of handling myself on the battlefield, you cannot keep me here forever, shielding me from the very thing I've spent my whole life training for!" now she was shouting again, unable to keep her voice low. She was hurt by Lexa's words, offended by them. "You make it sound as if you think of me as a burden and it is so frustrating! It's frustrating that you always seek to protect me by hiding me away from the danger that is out there, my whole life I have trained to become a warrior... You once told me that you wouldn't lose me because I was too good a fighter for me to die in battle, was that a lie Lexa?" Costia didn't want to be a burden to the Commander, she didn't want to weaken her in battle but at the same time she wanted to fight, to defend her village. She wanted to be treated like the capable warrior that she was and not like a child that couldn't even be trusted to handle a knife.

As Lexa told her to stop talking Costia momentarily obeyed, listening to her lovers words and giving the occasional wince as a twinge of pain irritated her shoulder as Lexa tended to the wound. "You may not want to talk about it, but we need to talk about it" she breathed as she wrapped a cloth around her shoulder to act as a bandage. "I could have died today, I very nearly did... You need to be prepared for when that happens, you cannot appear weak" she didn't speak these words to upset her beloved. She spoke them because she cared for her and did not want her reputation to be tainted by appearing weak in front of others, especially if she was to be the next Heda. The moment Lexa wrapped her arms around her, her lips softly meeting her neck, Costia allowed a brief smile to grace her features. Allowing her lover to gently pull her closer to the head of the bed. Leaning against Lexa, Costia looked up to meet her gaze "how safe is safe though?" she muttered the question, a small shiver running up her spine as Lexa trailed her fingers along her forearm, her gaze lowering to watch the movement. amber3

"Then help me" Costia breathed, taking a step towards Lexa as she turned away "Help me to understand" she didn't understand whenever Lexa spoke like this, it was true. She knew Lexa was under a lot of pressure to avenge the people Trikru had lost to the Skaikru. But it was a constant worry, since Lexa was so dedicated to the coalition. She knew on some deep level that Lexa had to leave, did she want her to go? No, definitely not. It was always so lonely whenever Lexa left Polis, many times Costia would accompany her, but Lexa had made it clear that this was not to be one of those times.
"Your death is one of the things that worries me, yes" she admitted, meeting her lovers gaze "I know that Gustus and Indra will protect you, they'll keep you safe but am I not allowed to worry?! Skaikru are like no enemy we have ever faced before, even the mountain men send the reapers to do their bidding, Skaikru have guns, what weapons do we have that can compete with their guns and their technology, three hundred warriors failed to defeat them, what do you intend to do differently?" she questioned, folding her arms over her chest as she awaited an answer. As Lexa slipped her hand into hers, Costia forced a smile "Titus will be here, he is more than capable of training the nightbloods, of protecting them, they do not need my protection" she mumbled, her anger finally subsiding little by little. "I do not understand why you wish for me to stay here, this would not be the first battle I have fought in and it wouldn't be my last" she raised an eyebrow questioningly as she squeezed Lexa's hand "What use am I here when the people in my village are being slaughtered, I sit here doing nothing, I was not trained to sit around and hide like a coward whilst my friends die for my clan, for my village" amber3

As Lexa sat behind her on the bed, she turned her head a small smile appearing on her face, she knew that the process of getting the arrow out of her shoulder would not be a pleasant one. It would be painful and she probably wouldn't have full use of her arm for a while. She scowled at the thought, it was her sword arm, she didn't like the idea of having to adapt to wield a weapon with her other arm until her wound healed. She looked down warily as the girl took hold of the shaft of the arrow, as she broke the shaft of the arrow off using her knife it sent a small jolt of pain into her shoulder, making her wince.
"You know that's not true Lexa" she muttered, managing a chuckle despite the pain in her shoulder "Anya puts us in different groups to separate us on purpose, there will be times like this where we don't know where each other are and sometimes we'll get hurt, but we need to be able to deal with it when it happens" she managed a shaky sigh as she thought of the worry she felt whenever they were separated. It happened often enough, but it wasn't often that one of their groups was attacked. As Lexa leaned in and gave a kiss to her shoulder, Costia felt herself relax slightly before she uttered the words. This is going to hurt. After that she didn't give Costia much time to prepare herself before she gave a good hard tug on what remained of the arrow and wrenched it from her shoulder. Costia let out a short sharp cry as the pain flared up in her shoulder once again, her eyes squeezing themselves shut as she tried to compose herself. "Then one of us will die..." she muttered once the pain had subsided enough for her to speak "and we'll have to learn to deal with that... You'll have to deal with that" she breathed, looking her lover in the eyes. It was obvious what she was implying. Costia knew that as a nightblood Lexa would eventually become the Commander, she would be protected until her time came. Costia didn't believe that Lexa would be put into unnecessary danger, she on the other hand was a warrior, her job was to fight on the front line and defend her clan. There would be plenty of opportunities for her to lose her life, she'd just gotten lucky today, if Gustus had not been there, she would already be dead.

"No choice? You have every choice Lexa, you are the Commander, you can choose to stay, you are just choosing to leave!" Costia hissed at her as she tugged her arm away from her. She knew that Lexa felt a duty to her people, but what would happen to her people if she were to be killed, Azgeda would take advantage of that opportunity and the clans would probably be at war again. "Fear? Of course I'm scared for you Lexa, I'm terrified about allowing you to leave because I know that if you go to Tondc I might never see you again" she looked into the Commander's eyes, her glare unwavering. She waved a hand dismissively at Lexa's next words "I do not need to be reminded of what they did Lexa! I know what they did, it was an act of war, they must pay for what they did to the people of Tondc, but you do not need to be there!" she argued with her, eager to persuade her lover to stay but knowing that ultimately she would fail. "I don't see why you have to be there, you have sent your armies to fight your battles before, were you there when Anya's unit launched an attack on Skaikru?! No, you weren't there, you didn't need to be, your presence would not have altered what happened!" her voice began to steadily rise again as she tried to persuade the Commander to stay in Polis. "I'm sorry about Anya, I know she meant a lot to you, but she trained you to know what choices were right and what were wrong, if you go to Tondc it will be a mistake" At Lexa's next words Costia actually hesitated, the words surprised her, Lexa didn't usually take this tactic when arguing with her. She didn't usually use her rank against her. "None of my concern? You are my partner, we belong to each other" she balled her hands into fists as she fought with her emotions, trying to smother them. It was true, she didn't have as much control over her emotions as Lexa did but that was because she hadn't needed to control her emotions as much growing up, she didn't need to hide from them. "I deserve to know where you are, what you are doing, if you are still going to be alive tomorrow! If you insist on going then at least allow me to accompany you, I am a warrior, it is what I have been trained for" Costia continued to stare at Lexa, her eyes almost pleading with her to allow her to go with her "Is that all you think of me? As a subject? As somebody who should follow orders? Because you know that isn't me Lexa, you know that I will not stand around whilst you go out and fight!" amber3

Costia was thinking, going over everything in her mind, everything that had happened before the attack. Maybe it could have been prevented, maybe the lives that had been lost could've been saved if she had acted differently. No, it could never have been prevented, Azgeda warriors had swamped their camp, there were three times as many Azgeda warriors than Trikru. It was obviously supposed to be a massacre, the thought angered Costia, those were her people, her friends and most of them were now dead, slaughtered before many of them had time to reach for their weapons.
She had fought valiantly during the battle, but of course it had not been enough, none of it had been enough. She had been speaking with Gustus just before the attack, he wasn't just her guardian, he was also her mentor and she, his second. She had lost sight of him during the battle but she wouldn't forget the moment the arrow had hit her. She had been fighting with an Azgeda warrior that was twice her size, the general who was in charge of their scouting party had just sounded the retreat as it had become evident that they were vastly outnumbered, suddenly she had been knocked off her feet, a searing pain in her shoulder had made her cry out in pain as she'd been lying on the ground, staring up at the warrior that would surely end her life. However, Gustus had come to her rescue, dispatched the warrior with his heavy battle-axe and hauled her to her feet. She'd been taken back to Tondc with the rest of the few survivors and that was where she was now. Sitting on the bed, awaiting for Lexa to return, Lexa was her girlfriend, they were partners, they belonged to each other.
She could hear horses outside, hear their hooves on the ground and the babble of startled conversation as people hurried to meet whoever had just arrived. She heard a familiar voice call out and it was then that she knew Lexa had returned. She knew that she must've heard about the attack, knew that she would be worried. The girl flinched slightly as somebody threw the door open a little too violently and there she stood. Costia could instantly see the relief and the concern upon her face. You're alive. As the words left Lexa's mouth, Costia couldn't help but offer a weak smile "It would seem that way" she mumbled as the girl crossed over to the bed and touched the arrow tip that was still embedded in her shoulder. She grimaced as she shifted uncomfortably on the bed, "You know you have no say in where either of us are assigned, we must stay with our mentors, go where they go" she told her, lifting a hand to touch Lexa's face "you worry too much" she breathed. This was their lives, they were warriors, it was all they had ever known, they were born to fight for their clan, to die for their clan if that was to be their fate. She was prepared to die for her clan, she had been ready to give her life in that battle for her clan, even if she did not wish to die, she had been ready for death.

Storming down the hall, it was clear that Costia was in a bad mood, clad in the armour that she never seemed to take off, her sword on her hip. She had just heard the news that the Commander intended to travel back to Tondc after the attacks from Skaikru targeted their home village, this was the first she'd heard of it and she was outraged that her beloved would keep something like this from her. At the very least, Costia wanted to accompany her partner back to the village, if she could not persuade her to stay within Polis that is. Gustus was in Tondc, she had yet to discover if he had survived both attacks that all together claimed three hundred and eighteen trikru lives. However she remained in Polis, willing to stay with the Commander, to keep her mind at rest and to avoid being separated. Obviously Lexa didn't value trust as much as Costia did, if she did then she would inform her of her plans or allow her to accompany her back to Tondc. Throwing open the door to Lexa's own private bedroom, she spotted the Commander packing her things and didn't hesitate in showing her disapproval. "When were you planning on telling me?" she demanded. "Lexa, we're supposed to be partners and you were just going to up and leave!?" she closed the distance between them as she crossed the room and stopped at Lexa's side. "Were you just going to leave before I woke?! Leave me wondering where you had gone and when you were going to return, if you did return at all?!" she reached out and grabbed the Commanders wrist to stop her from packing anymore of her belongings "You want to be there, I get that! It's our village, it's in our blood, but is it the right move strategically, the mountain is close to Tondc and the Skaikru are a constant threat, you should stay here, where you are safe" she spoke with a firm almost commanding tone to her, they rarely fought about things but when they did it was usually about Lexa or herself going somewhere that perhaps could put them in danger and if the other disapproved they would let it be known.

A smile played upon her lips at the girls words "That makes me curious... As to why you would laugh at something that is not funny" she told her, lowering her gaze to the axe that she held in her hands. At the question the smile quickly turned into a smirk, her eyes flashing as she looked up to watch Niylah. "I have nothing and yet, I have everything" she told the trader, making sense to herself even if nobody else understood the puzzling words that escaped her.
"I wouldn't exactly call my lifestyle exciting" Costia muttered with a small shrug of her shoulders, as if the statement didn't matter much. "I have seen my friends slaughtered on the battlefield, felt the bite of arrows and blades as they have bitten into my skin... That isn't exciting, the blood... The war..." she trailed off suddenly, her eyes staring unblinking for a while before she seemed to snap out of her daze. "The most terrifying feeling in the world isn't whether or not you'll survive your next battle, it's the thought of the ones you love most perishing and leaving you to survive in a world without them" As Niylah approached her, she took a hesitant step backwards, perhaps she was cautious of this trader. She obviously had many hidden talents, although the warrior seriously doubted that she'd be able to overpower her if she tried, she didn't want to take unnecessary risks. "It is true, I have nothing on my person to offer you, but... I have connections, reliable connections... Whatever you want for the axe, it is already yours" she told Niylah firmly, she knew that she could make such promises. Lexa had never denied her anything, anything she asked for was hers as long as it would not compromise the clans or the coalition and Costia would never dream of asking for anything that might hurt the ones she loved. She rarely asked for anything anyway, only for the Commander to take some time off once in a while, but that never seemed to be possible.

Costia watched Niylah as she spoke and she found that she was subconsciously nodding along to her words. Tearing her gaze away from the girl she made her way over to look at a shelf that held a wide variety of items, some of which the warrior had not seen for a while. As the trader let out a laugh Costia's eyes latched back onto her, one side of her mouth twitching back up into that smirk that she had been wearing only moments ago "care to share the joke?" she asked, turning away from the shelf to watch the girl "where I come from, we don't often have time for humour..." As the girl met her gaze, Costia was quick to look away, watching from the corner of her eye as she listened "Oh, well isn't that a pity? I have many tips that you could find useful" this time it was her turn to laugh, although laughter never lasted long when there was so much to grieve over in the life of a warrior, many of the people who inhabited earth suffered through hardships, it was difficult to find somebody who hadn't . As she heard Niylah get to her feet she turned once again to face her. Waving away her words dismissively she smiled "everybody needs a little bit of chaos in their lives, otherwise things get boring and I think we can both agree that boring is never fun" speaking the words that she found to be true, she followed Niylah over to where they kept the weapons that they had acquired. Axes. That was what she had said. "You certainly are full of surprises" she chuckled, putting her spear to one side, she took the axe when it was offered to her and began to run her finger along the blade. It came away slick with blood, making the warrior nod her approval "You did a fine job, what do you want for it?" she asked curiously. At the traders next question Costia's face went blank. What was she doing all the way out here? There were several trading posts nearer to her village than this one. "That's a good question" she muttered, almost to herself as she experimentally swung the axe, making sure that there was nothing nearby that she could knock over. "Maybe I just don't want to be found... Returning to Tondc with a new weapon should get everybody off of my back about why I have been gone all day, at least" amber4
