Oh right. Bellamy didn’t know. Cause who would have told him? Nobody, certainly not Monty. He didn’t like to put himself into the spotlight, that was usually Jaspers job, though that belonged to the past as well. And now the question arose because he brought it up as casually as he did. But maybe it would be good to talk to Bellamy about it. Bellamy he could trust with it. Others might have looked at him differently, but there was no way Bellamy would. He knew what it was like being around illegal children, he had raised one, and a great one at that. Octavia was… brilliant, just pure brilliant. Without being asked to, almost a little boldly Monty lowered himself onto the floor to sit and be a bit more comfortable while talking to the friend. “I was born as illegal child.” He finally explained. “My biological mother was underage when she had me. My biological father was immediately floated, she was floated when she turned 18. If it hadn’t been for the greens, I would have either been locked up all my life or died as a kid as a I would have gotten no medical attention being an illegal child locked up in the skybox. My parents had a permit to have a kid, but my mom is infertile, so she couldn’t have their own. They fought to adopt me and made me legal. I was a very lucky baby.” He would have been dead without them, one way or another.
“I think she will survive, but be alright? She was broken. She could hardly look at me long enough to ask me to take care of you, not that she had to. I would have wanted to either way. I owe you a lot and either way, I care about you.” He would go after her, if he had any hope of that being the right choice, but Clarke needed that. And he needed to make sure Bellamy would be okay, not just for her. “How is your sister?”

Monty had spent a lot of time up in the dropship, working on a potential communication device and helping with Jaspers injury. He hated the entire situation. He didn’t know how else to help his friend, the superficial lights in the dropship were off and the few lights he managed to get to were not infused with the right light. He needed sunshine. He needed the right kind of light to feel refreshed again. Sometimes Monty wondered if humans were actually secret plants, because for beings that did not need light to live, the light could make a lot of problems.
Monty had perched himself on a rock outside, fixing two pieced of Metal together to build a tank to catch rain water in and maybe to disperse it properly. The others were being pushed to build the wall, yet Monty refused to help with that. He wasn’t strong. He wasn’t that big of a potential help at the wall, so he decided to do something he actually could do: Help with the objects they would eventually need as well. Though he heard one of the other delinquents shouts. It was annoying, even to him and he had Jasper as friend, he was used to endless chatter. “You know, they might work faster if you motivate them, not threaten them. That actually reminds me a lot of the Ark. Do as we tell you to do or get floated.”

“Jasper is probably going to throw a fit once he finds out I’m probably holding a record here now.” Montys voice was clear of bitterness about what he said, laced with pain about the fact that his friend loved the spotlight and would do a lot to be in it – one reason why Monty knew Jasper would probably be a bit of a pain for a while now. It was a truth Monty knew about Jasper before they came down here and it didn’t change. As much as he loved his friend, he knew he’d find a way to make his pain the more important one. And that was fine, that was how he was healing. But Monty was in pain as well and he could not heal like that by patting someones back and telling them how awesome they were for enduring the pain of stubbing their toe. He needed support and hoped, kind of, to find it with Bellamy, who never let them down. “Two sets of dead parents. Not the record anyone would want to hold.” It was a record he despised, but it made at least a bit of light of the situation. He could cope with losing his parents, much better than the rest.
“Neither are you alone, Bellamy. You… you care for all of us, you risked your life” Both of them had done the best they could and they were paying the price. “You’re not alone, Bellamy. I hope you know that. I’m here for you, too. And I am pretty sure a lot of the others are. They’re coping as well, but the month on the ground where you kept us alive, it’s not forgotten. For what it’s worth: We’re here for you. I’ll be there for you as much as I can.” None of them could undo anything. If Monty could, he’d want to take a lot fo the burdens Bellamy and Clarke carried on their shoulders from them. If he could, maybe Clarke would still be there. “I worry about her. Do you think she’ll be okay out there?”

“I have taken a few of them to medical.” And they knew where to get the rest of them. Monty intended to care for them a little while longer. Neither Abby, nor Jackson had too much of an idea what plants needed. They didn’t know they had blood of a sort as well and all that. They knew how to use them, Monty knew how to keep them alive and how to grow more, hence why he kept some in his tent, with the intention of asking for an assigned place where he could grow those plants they needed. He’d try to get them to find him those planting pots his parents used to have. They were the easiest for him to handle and he was the most familiar with it. It would be an extra distraction.
“I have enough to numb the entire camp for two weeks. Please take it. And use it. You’ve been injured. And going by what you’ve displayed in the camp before, you will not stop working, so please at least ease the pain a little. It will not knock you out or make you high, if that’s your fear. It can’t harm your mental state in any form. You will feel better, I promise.” Did Bellamy have a reason to mistrust his promise? Hopefully not. So far if he made something worse, it was through genuine mistakes and not malicious intend.
Monty all but froze at the question. He had told everyone so far he was fine – most of them didn’t care, it was a matter of small talk, but Bellamy was different. He was usually not the man to ask this kind of question unless he was actually interested in an answer. Given what they’ve been through he might be as interested in Montys wellbeing as he was in Bellamys, as Clarke was in his as well. “My best friend won’t even look at me. People I care about are in medical. Others are dead. There’s no trace of my parents, might be holding a record there. Yay.” The latter was as sarcastic as it could get. “How are you?”

Monty was usually not as outspoken as others were. He was quiet, but observant and, well clever. Unlike some of the others he could make mental connections, that others would not be able to make, simple because his mind worked out of the usual framework. As such it had been easy for him to not only see but anticipate that Bellamy would not come out of it unscathed, yet he knew, like back at the dropship, he would be the one not bothering medical about it. Back at the dropship Clarke would have gently forced him to accept help. But with Clarke gone, who would do it? Octavia maybe, but she had so much to do as well. She was helping everyone, stepping up. As they landed he wouldn’t have expected that despite the strength he could see beyond her covers even then. She just performed a quantum leap, while others stayed behind. He smiled, though kept his head lowered.
“You wouldn’t accept that even if I tried.” He observed. And it was a bad idea as a big part of their food relied on hunted prey unlike on the Ark. There was no point in being a vegetarian if you were starving. It was illogical. “This is no food, technically. This is a herb we used on the Ark as well. I got several of them when we were outside.” While outside Bellamy seemed to be the only one not bothered with him picking up the plants. “You’ve been hurt in Mount Weather. You have not seen a doctor about it. You should make a tea of a few leaves. It’s a natural painkiller, it’s calming and antiseptic. I brought enough for the entire camp and to grow more.” And it worked against depression, but just minimal, but that was not the reason why he brought it to Bellamy. It was a painkiller. And Bellamy might be in pain. Plus Monty knew Bellamy was putting the others first, which was why he pointed out that they had more than enough.

The first day in Camp Jaha most people were recovering. It felt like he was walking around in a Trance, not yet willing to deal with all that happened. Monty spent the first time looking around, hoping to see his parents, but failing to do so. Maybe they didn’t manage to get to earth. Maybe their communication was cut off from Alpha Station. It just added to the pile of things Monty Green did not want to deal with initially. He buried his mind in action. In the morning he joined a team going out for supplies. While they hunted he looked around, collecting whatever helpful plant he could spot. They had mechanics now, so he tried to help the medical team as much as he could, which wasn’t much.
It was one plant that made him think of the previous day, finally. Of a certain womans request. He had to follow through. This guilt he carried and the loneliness it brought… he did not want to deal with it. And because of that Monty plucked as many of the plants as he could. In the Camp, in his tent, he prepared the plants as much as possible, before carrying an assorted few with him over to Bellamy Blakes tent. He couldn’t knock – it was a tent – so he just went inside. “Bellamy… I have something for you.”

| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ | .:Name:. Monty Green .:Nick Name:. No nickname .:Affiliation:. The 100, Sky Person
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ | .:Physical Appearance:. Monty is clearly a descendant of people from the continent of Asia on Earth (unlike his adoptive parents). He has straight black hair and warm brown eyes. Monty usually doesn’t bother too much about his appearance. He pays more attention to making himself known with his knowledge rather than looks, which is why he usually doesn’t dress to impress but for comfort and practical reasons – really pink shirts with sequins just get in the way when you try to feed carnivore plants. .:Height:. 5’8 ½’’ .:Portrayed by:. Christopher Larkin
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ | .:Personality:. Monty is a smart young man. He has a deep sense of compassion and would rather help people than to harm them. He prefers peace and quiet, not just in his workspace, which is usually as removed from the chaos of the camp as is safe. He is a very loyal individual, willing to follow those who earned his loyalty to whatever it takes. Towards those he feels loyalty for, he is willing to risk a lot for, trusting them, despite evidence sometimes not supporting it, as loyalty and friendship was just more important to him. Monty can be very sassy and sarcastic sometimes, but also extremely blunt – if he dares to me. .:Special Skills:. He’s got a vast technical knowledge and knows almost every plant that used to exist on earth. As he witnessed evolution on the Ark firsthand, he is capable of identifying which plant could be an evolution or subspecies of which.
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ | .:Birthplace:. The Ark .:Family:. Birthparents are both dead (floated), his adoptive parents are presumed to have died in the crash of Agro station. .:Occupation:. Trained to become an Engineer and Agriculture Scientist .:History:. When Monty was born his mother was barely 17 years old. She had no permit to have a child, making him unregistered and illegal. His father was immediately floated for it, his mother arrested and floated as soon as she turned 18. A couple from Agro Station, the Greens, had a permit to have a child, but they could not conceive one, so they volunteered to help the few unregistered babies survive. It was in his time with the two people in charge of the pharmaceuticals on the Ark that the couple fell in love with the small child they helped raise. As they had a permit they approached the council with the option of adopting the child and not having their own in favor to make the boy legal and registered. Montys childhood can only be described as a good one. He had two loving parents, who never made him feel like he was any less just because he was quite obviously not their biological son. They treated him like he hung the moon and the stars and in return he worked hard on his knowledge to make them proud. He was friends with Jasper Jordan from a very young age on. The two were a bit of nerds, but eventually they started to get each other into trouble as they discovered the magic of mushrooms and other plants. They started experimenting with those drugs, which eventually led to the inevitable: One of them forgot to replace the plants and they got discovered. Monty will never forget the look of disappointment and fear in his mothers eyes as they dragged him away, as it was maybe the last time he ever saw her. He and his friend got sent down with the 100 on the mission to determine if earth was habitable again.
