For Gabriel Santiago, this was a dream come true. All those years of hardwork and his reputation had finally paid off as he was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Field work the likes of so many had never seen, and may never seen. And he was fortunate enough to work with brilliant minds such as Russell Lightbourne, among the other families that were here. Though he was the only one who came without one, solely on his own, with the time they would spend together, the journeys they would embark on . . . everyone was already becoming rather close knit. All intrigued by what they would find; all bringing different areas of expertise. It was truly an incredible opportunity and Gabriel was fully immersed in his work and ensuring he did not disappoint anyone.
Though . . . perhaps fully immersed was a bit inaccurate. During the time they spent in the ship, he had started to form a bond with Russell's daughter, Josephine. She was brilliant in her field, and well . . . an overall incredible person. From what he learned of her anyway, which only made him want to know her more and more. He enjoyed her company, far more than he possible as he hadn't been coming on this mission to meet anyone in an intimate nature. And he knew that perhaps it should stay that way considering she was Russell Lightbourne's daughter. Still; her company was impossible to refuse. No sooner did he think it, that she appeared. Her presence drew a smile from him as he looked at her for a moment before turning his gaze back to his papers. Otherwise, he may be staring at her a little too long, appreciating her beauty a little too intently. "There's some extra dinner on the counter," he offered casually, pretending to read the papers in front of him.

Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream This was not how she imagined her life going. She'd imagined having completed a collage scholarship, no longer living with her parents, having a degree and a high paying job. That certainly hadn't happened but that wasn't to say she was unhappy. This was the opportunity of a lifetime and she had no intention of taking it for granted. How many people had the opportunity to study alien lifeforms, or to work alongside other brilliant minds on a new planet? Yeah, this was definitely a win in her books.
And then there was a certain handsome stranger who was quickly becoming more then a stranger. Josephine hadn't intended to find romance on this journey, though she certainly wasn't opposed to it. Gabriel was nice. And so incredibly smart. And he challenged her to do better, to be better. And had she mentioned how handsome he was? And... speak of the devil... there he was...
The smile that lit up her face was prevalent. Josie had noticed that the attraction seemed to be a mutual feeling though neither of them had acted on it. Their friendship consisted of flirty comments and eluding words; that was when she wasn't questioning his science and he wasn't pushing her to study harder.
"Oh," she hummed, her voice soft with amusement as she moved around him toward the dinner he'd offered. "Dinner and a show, my, you know how to treat a girl."
