Madi felt a warm wave rush over here when the old brick building finally came into view. Nightmares still haunted her more nights than not, but she felt a lot safer with her new foster mother by her side. The girl had been like a wild animal when she‘d first come out of the bunker in which her family had died before her eyes. She was hardly even recognisable as a little girl, everything about her encrusted in weeks of filth.
Although she‘d been raised to be tough and self-sufficient as was her people‘s way, she was still a child and seeing her parents and brother waste away in front of her had shaken her psyche pretty badly. With her will to fight gone, she probably wouldn‘t have survived if Clarke hadn‘t found her. It took a long time to trust the fair haired stranger, but she didn‘t have anyone else left and so she came out of her shell eventually.
She‘d been very excited when they‘d spotted the huge ship in the sky having been told so many stories of Clarke‘s friends and she couldn‘t wait to meet them. Disappointment and fear gripped her when her foster mom revealed that this wasn‘t the spacecraft they‘d been waiting and hoping for.„What do we do if those people find our place?“ , Madi asked as she started to pick some flowers, worry edged into her young face.

The girl grew a bit calmer when she heard the young woman answer her in her own language. She looked more like one of the Skaikru though, not that she'd seen many of them living at her family's isolated farm but she'd heard about the fair colour of their hair. Her father and brother had left for the surrounding markets to trade for things they couldn't make themselves every few weeks. They'd told Madi stories about these strange people who'd fallen from the sky, the girl was only rarely alowed to come along herself since it was too much of a risk. Her father had quickly learned there language, seeing it as an advantage for trading and maybe having them on his family's side if anything should happen. He'd also taught his children how to speak the foreign language, although Madi had only ever spoken it to her family to practice, never to an actual Sky Person.„My...my name..is Madi.“ , she answered hesitantly as her lips formed around the words that still seemed strange to her. She nodded as the young woman asked if she was hungry. Her family had been out of rations for a while during their last days in the bunker and the girl couldn't remember when she'd last had something to eat. Her mouth felt dry as well and she licked her cracked lips. „Water!“ , she asked Clarke with a pleading expression and was thankful that the woman had decided to help her, even though she was still confused and wishing for her family back.Tag: Clarke Griffin

Madi blinked her eyes open, needing longer than usual to adjust to the light around her. After spending weeks inside an underearth bunker, she wasn't used to so much light hitting her face and with its white walls and installations, the laboratory was brighter than anything she had seen in her whole life anyway. The surroundings seemed alien to her and she felt panic rise inside her chest when she couldn't find the bodies of her family anywhere. Of course she'd known that she was the only surviving member of her family when she'd spent what seemed to her like her last hours in their shelter, hugging herself close to her parents' and her brother's corpses. She had known it on a logical level, but her mind was far too traumatised to think on any logical level and to not have them around her anymore started to make her frantic.
She didn't even notice the person speaking to her as her eyes darted from one corner of the space around her, almost wishing to conjure up her family somehow if she just looked for them hard enough. „Nomi! Noni!“, she called her parents in her native language. She finally noticed the fair haired young woman standing beside her, who looked almost as foreign as her surroundings. „Chon yu bilaik?“, she asked, demanding to know who this girl she'd never seen was and wondering how she had gotten to this strange place.

| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ | .:Physical Appearance:. Madi's cheeks are still round with baby fat causing Clarke's annoying habbit of squeezing them even though she's almost as tall as her. Her green eyes appear especially bright with her pale skin although it's often smudged with dirt. Her long, brown hair is partially braided with one of the braids interlaced by a chain and most of the time adorned by her dark beanie.

She was always a very fierce girl, even when she was a toddler, always taking on the boys and mostly beating them in fights. She always loved playing pranks on her peers and the adults, which would often get her into trouble but she never shied away from the hard work she would get as punishment. She always makes the best out of her situation and tries to find some light even in the darkest of hours.
.:Special Skills:. Madi learned how to track animals and can assess all the information hidden in her surroundings. She can creep through the woods or any other landscape without anyone seeing or hearing her if she wants to.
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ | .:Birthplace:. Small Trikru Village .:Family:. Father: Fenrir – died during Praimfaya Mother: Agneta – died during Praimfaya Brother: Olan – died during Praimfaya
.:Occupation:. None
.:History:. Madi's life started in a small Trikru village during a rainy, stormy night. Her father used to love telling her the story of how she came into the world fighting. The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck and everyone present during the birth believed that she wasn't going to make it, but the little girl didn't give up and she soon let out that powerful scream her parents had been waiting for. She was quicker than most of the other children her age, running at the age of ten months and getting into all sorts of mischief. Her parents and older brother were kept on their toes trying to keep her in check, but she'd often slip away from them an get into some sort of trouble.
As most young children, she was prone to accidents, scratching her knees or some other body part. When Madi was barely a year old, Olan accidentally hit her in the face with his selfmade toy car and her nose began to bleed. She almost never cried even when in pain, so their mother didn't notice. Only when the boy asked her why his sister's blood was black, did the woman squat down to examine her daughter and her heart sank to her stomach. Following this incident, Madi's parents kept her locked into their home to avoid her getting hurt again and any of the villagers seeing her black blood until they had figured out what to do about it. Madi's parents were proud of their culture and usually followed their traditions, but they just couldn't bare possibly losing their daughter. It didn't take them long to decide that they would leave their village, even though it pained them to lose their friends and family, it would pain them even more to lose their child. They packed only the bare necessities and headed out into the woods to find an isolated area where they could make their new home. They lived a harsh life for a while but soon set up a new farm house where they could live and work peacefully without the fear that Madi's nature would be discovered.
Madi lived a calm and happy life with her parents and brother with everything the land had to offer them until they noticed a change in their surroundings. They usually felt blessed by the rain as it meant drinking water for them, their animals and their crops, but one day, the water falling from the skies was sour and it burned. It burned their skin, it burned their land and the sky seemed to be changing. The family fled to an abandoned bunker from the old ages they'd been using for storage, confused and scared of what was going on in their world. The water and food in the bunker didn't last for long, since they'd had no idea was going on and hadn't been prepared to stay in the shelter for a long period of time. After her father had opened the trap door, it didn't take long for Madi's family to start feeling sick. She felt ill herself, but the air and the water from outside they'd had to start drinking didn't seem to affect her as harshly as the rest of them. Her mother was the first one to die, so many burn marks on her body she could hardly be recognized. Her father and brother didn't even have the energy to cry for her anymore, let alone bury her. She was lying on the ground of the bunker, surrounded by the dead bodies of her family, her eyes barely open as she was slipping further and further into the darkness to follow her loved ones. Her lips were cracked open from being so dry as much as her skin was from the burning air. Madi was ready to let go until an angel stepped into her blurred vision. An angel with long blonde locks of hair and a face so fair, especially compared to the burned skin she'd only seen for so long now. The angel scooped her up and carried her away into the light. It's been almost six years now since Clarke saved her life, nursing her back to health and keeping her safe. Although she hasn't forgotten her real mother, keeping the memory of her family alive as best as she can, Clarke has become a kind of adoptive mother to her. She used to comfort Madi when she couldn't sleep by telling her stories of the Ark and of her friends. The little girl loved hearing about Bellamy, Raven, of Clarke's mother Abby and even of John Murphy. She held on to the hope that she would be able to meet them someday.
