The group had lost track of Clarke and her captor, their trail cold once they'd headed off again, but at least the Arkers hadn't lost another in the process. Even if Bellamy had come away with an injury, it was better than the likely alternative. He had been determined to find the girl and his persistence was admirable, but they needed to approach the rescue wisely, albeit boldly. Since their attempt to track Clarke down it had come to light she'd been taken to the grounder capital, an apparent 'safety' Pike was reluctant to put much confidence in.
Still, Marcus and Abby had felt in a position to discuss the matter with those who held the girl along with whatever else they hoped to achieve at the summit, perhaps simply through lack of options, while Charles focused on getting the survivors of Farm Station settled in a more secure environment. They had been through so much these past months, a little relaxation without having to watch their backs every second was the least they deserved and he would do his best to provide it with the help of their fellow Arkers.
With Bellamy still recovering from his wound he would be staying behind instead of attending the summit, though Pike wasn't sure whether the younger man would have chosen to go to the meeting anyway. If Bellamy's earlier perseverence to get to Clarke was anything to go by, there was a good chance he'd have preferred to go along with Kane, whether or not the company would have been accepted. For now, Pike was glad for the other's assistance in settling the Arkers. "How's your leg?"

The end of another class. Nothing out of the ordinary, the usual mix of students. Some who struggled to muster any enthusiasm for the focus of the lesson, with others seeming eager to learn despite the slim chance they'd ever get to use such skills. Regardless, he enjoyed teaching them anyway and occasionally there would be a student who stood out from the others for whatever reason. A swift learner, or someone who took to a particular task as if they were born for it. There were always gifted students passing through along with those who had no interest in Earth Skills.
As Charles had gone about packing away the tools he'd used that day, he'd paused, lost in thought while he stood near the table, palms pressed to the surface as he leaned against. Until a voice drew him from his contemplation and he straightened up. Bellamy Blake, a past student with a promising future. Or so it had seemed to him and no doubt would have been, he thought, had the young man's life not taken the turn it had. Though Pike tried not to pay heed to idle gossip on the Ark, some talk would inevitably get anyone's attention. Talk of a hidden second child, for example. A rare occurrence on the Ark and even more unusual to be concealed for so many years. It had been an achievement of sorts but the discovery of which had devastating consequences for the Blake family.
After several moments studying the other, he spoke up, gesturing with one hand as he stepped around the table. "No... no need. Go ahead." They each had their duties and this was now Bellamy's, and though every task on the Ark was important, it was troubling to see a bright young recruit from the guard now tasked with cleaning up after others. Charles went back to putting away the items from the class as he thought over the scandal of the illegal child, eventually looking Bellamy's way once more. "I was sorry to hear about your mother. She was a strong woman."

.:Name:. Charles Pike .:Nick Name:. Pike .:Affiliation:. Arker .:Age:. 40s
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Charles Pike is of average height and a fairly muscular build. He has a bald head and a goatee style beard. During his early time on the ground, he dressed in Grounder-like attire, whether salvaged or made to mimic the style for camouflage among enemies. However, once he arrived at Arkadia, he resumed wearing the usual Arker style of clothing, including guard attire once he became chancellor. .:Height:. 5'9 .:Portrayed by:. Michael Beach
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Pike is committed to the cause he believes in; the protection and survival of the Arkers. Resolute and determined toward this goal, he is difficult to dissuade, although he will occasionally listen to the differing opinions of those he trusts, at times accepting these. However, this is rare and once those views are proved wrong, he's unlikely to be swayed again.
.:Special Skills:. As an Earth Skills teacher on the Ark, Pike is well-versed in such skills with expertise in basic survival and tracking. Being from Farm Station also assists with this knowledge as well as that of sustainable living. A charismatic orator, he also has leadership skills and the ability to inspire other Arkers. His steadfast nature and personal experience of grounders mean that he views them all as a threat, reluctant to look past this and judge each grounder individually, instead refusing to trust them at all, even when tolerating them.

.:Birthplace:. The Ark - Farm Station .:Family:. Unknown .:Occupation:. Teacher/Chancellor .:History:.
Charles Pike was an Earth Skills teacher on the the Ark, teaching many of the Arkers during this time, including Bellamy Blake and Clarke Griffin. It was requested that he teach a more intensive crash-course to the 100 delinquents before they were sent down to Earth in a dropship. Although he pleaded with Jaha to either let him tell them of their imminent journey to the ground, or that he be allowed to go with them, both requests were denied. Instead he used more severe methods during the class in an attempt to get through to the delinquents.
After the Ark's turbulent journey to the ground Farm Station, including Bryan and Hannah Green, landed in Azgeda territory. Though they initially thought they were safe, they were attacked by Ice Nation grounders who slaughtered many of their number, including Monty Green's father. Once Farm Station were reunited with the other Arkers and they learned of what happened at Mount Weather, Pike made his views on grounders clear, distrustful of them and their truce with the Arkers. He made concessions for Echo only because Bellamy Blake vouched for her, with Pike trusting Bellamy rather than Echo.
After the betrayal and massacre at Mount Weather, Pike reasserted his anti-grounder stance and maintained that they were still the enemy of the Arkers. With Bellamy's assistance, Pike and several others planned to kill the army of 300 grounders sent to apparently defend Arkadia, though he was reluctant to believe this knowing the army could be turned on them at any time. The first attempt was stopped with Pike and the others being arrested, but after a suggestion from the group that he should be on the ballot for chancellor and Bellamy leading a chant in favor of Pike, he was eventually elected by the people of Arkadia.
Pike, Bellamy, Hannah and several others wasted little time in destroying the army camped near Arkadia as they had intended; the purpose of which was meant as a tribute to those Arkers who were killed and as a warning to Grounders. While some formed a resistance, Marcus Kane and Octavia Blake among them, Pike and the others set about stepping up their defenses along with ensuring the long term survival of the Arkers.
