Raven had been suspicious for a while but she’d pushed the thought to the back of her mind because there were bigger, more important things to worry about, like winning a war and saving their friends. But now they were home and nothing was currently trying to kill them so she couldn’t avoid it any longer. Raven was way past late. She’d held on to the hope that maybe extreme stress had caused her to just skip a month but she knew her body and how it responded to things like stress, and this had never happened before. But she needed to be sure. So she waited until Abby was alone in medical and had her do a blood test.
It was positive. She was definitely pregnant. She left medical before Abby could say a word only asking her not to tell anyone. She wouldn’t of course and Raven knew that. She trusted Abby. Finding a space alone in camp hidden away, Raven sat down. She wouldn’t dare going to her tent or engineering or anywhere Wick could find her. She was going to avoid him and that conversation like the plague; or at least for as long as she could. Raven just let herself cry. She wasn’t ready for this. Now was not a time to bring a baby into this ruthless world where they were always on the brink of war and surrounded by death.
Raven’s hand slowly stroked the scar on her abdomen left from when the grounders tortured her after falsely accusing her of trying to poison their commander. She thought back to the gunshot wound she’d suffered by Murphy’s hand and more recently to the bone marrow extraction. Her whole body shivered when she thought of it; of the excruciating pain she'd endured. The whole time this baby had been inside her fighting to survive just like the rest of them. She almost smiled at the thought. Getting up she knew there was one thing she had to do; tell the father.
She found Bellamy with Miller and approached them. “Could you give us a minute?” She asked, and Miller obliged leaving them alone. Consciously trying to keep every breath steady Raven turned to Bellamy. “I need to talk to you,” she said, her tone conveying the seriousness of the topic they were about to discuss. “Could we go somewhere private?”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Things were finally settling down . . . somewhat. Most everyone had physically healed, yet it was the mental, emotional, and psychological healing that wuold take far longer. The damage of those was far more extensive. Bellamy was no exception to this. With Clarke gone, he did everything he could so that he would have to be left alone with his thoughts. He'd assumed the two of them would get through this together. He had put his hand on her to pull that lever so that she didn't have to be alone. But now, he was alone. He had his sister and the others of course, but he could not burden them with his pain.
So he just set his feelings aside, for the betterment of the camp. What other choice was there? Night was the worst. Every time he closed his eyes he saw them. Images of everyone. He the blood of over 600 bodies on his hands. There was no coming back from that; no amount of time would heal these wounds. Day time, it was easier to numb himself to the monster he was. Right now, he was in the company of one of his closest friends: Miller. Nathan was telling him a past childhood story on the Ark, when Raven joined them.
Bellamy turned his attention to her, the expression in her face and tone in her voice indicating the seriousness of the topic she was going to bring up. Bellamy hadn't the slightest idea what it was but he face remained stoic. Nathan didn't need to be told twice to leave as he made his absence. She then asked to speak to Bellamy in private. He gave a short nod and led them to his tent, allowing her to enter first before he joined. Raven was someone who had really been through hell. With Murphy shooting her, losing Finn, and gettng drilled . . . yeah. There was most definietly a lot of healing left for her to do as well.
But she was tough. Strong. Bellamy had never once doubted or dismissed that. Once they were both inside, in the privacy that his tent provided, Bellamy knew it was best to get sraight to business. He was not one to beat around the bush. "What's going on?" He asked her. It was better than asking what was wrong. So much was wrong. So many suffered from the trauma of what they had endured. So Bellamy chose his words carefully, knowing that there was a way to phrase them . . . knowing that here, in this hell of a place called Earth, there was always something wrong.

She followed him to his tent. It was as good a place as any. Entering first, she kept her eyes on the exit just in case she needed to make a quick retreat. "What's going on?" Raven decided early on that she wasn't going to keep this from Bellamy. He had a right to know being the one to knock her up and all. She hated secrets, being hurt by them enough in the past. Raven pushed thoughts of Wick and her hypocrisy out of her mind. One massive confrontation at a time.
She tried to keep herself composed as she turned to Bellamy. Her heart was beating so hard she was almost sure he could hear it. Raven didn't think it would be this terrifying. Realising she actually cared about what Bellamy was going to say; how he was going to react...it was making her panic. Her eyes kept darting towards the exit while she continuously rubbed her hands together nervously. She could still pretend there was nothing wrong and just leave. Maybe even lie later on and say it was Finn's. But she'd done the math, it was definitely Bellamy's and eventually he'd figure that out too. Before she could chicken out she finally looked at him, her uneven breathing giving away her panicked state.
"Look, I'm going to cut right to the chase." It was best to get it over and done with as quickly as possible; like ripping off a band aid. "I'm pregnant and it's yours," she stated firmly; or as firmly as she could. "I don't expect anything from you okay? I just thought you had a right to know." Raven was preemptively letting him off the hook. She wasn't going to ask for his help or guilt him into feeling an obligation to her or the baby. He didn't ask for this, well neither of them did. But she was giving him an out, while not even sure if she wanted him to take it or not.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy was glad for the fact that she got right to the point. He himself was one who was often blunt and straight forward and apreciated that from her now. She was visibly nervous, anxious about something, and it made him all the more curious as to what was troubling her. Then, she revealed it. "I'm pregnant and it's yours." He just stared at her for a moment. There was no doubt about the legitimacy of her words. Raven wasn't stupid. Far from it in fact; she was highly intelligent. She wouldn't be this nervous, or say these words with such confidence if there was a flicker of doubt about who the father was. Hell, he figured she'd even want it to be Finn's since the two of them had an actual relationship compared to him and her who had just had sex and then moved on.
He kept his expression guarded, the words taking their time to absorb in his mind. She was pregnant; and it was his. He was going to be a father. He had no idea how to react to this. But he had to admit . . . it was the first time since Mount Weather that he felt something stir within him; something that gave him his humanity. Something that didn't make him feel like a monster, or feel the pain of his actions. He had destroyed so many lives . . . yet now, he helped create one. There was a beauty in that which he focused on; he needed to focus on it. But her words of not expecting anything well . . . it made him wonder.
"You don't expect anything from me, or you don't want anything from me?" He wouldn't blame her if it was the latter. He was a monster; a murderer. He would never forgive himself for he had taken over 600 lives. Would she want him to be the father of her child? He hoped so. Damn, he really did. Because a child . . . it was a renewed hope. Something good that came from this hell of a world. A little bit of heaven, that was much needed. He couldn't bring himself to say or ask anything else in this moment. His eyes locked onto hers, as if her next words had the power to crush his soul or save it.

"You don't expect anything from me, or you don't want anything from me?" Now that was the question of the hour, huh. She didn’t know how she felt about his response, was he happy with the news then? Or did he want nothing to do with her or the baby? Raven felt the room tense as he spoke, as if she was at a crossroads. She could say no, she didn’t want his help. Having been through hell and back, she could probably do this alone. But did she want to? The obvious answer was no, of course not. Raven knew what it was like to have no parents to care or love her. That’s not what she wanted for her baby. Sure she’d be there and love the child more than anyone or anything else. But she had to give it its best shot and that meant having Bellamy around. She wasn’t going to be the reason this kid didn’t have a dad before it even takes its first breath.
He was a good man, and after seeing how he’d protected not only his sister but their entire camp, she had no doubt in her mind that he could be a great dad. She let the thought sink in. Everything was happening so fast. A couple days ago all she thought about was the nightmare of Mount Weather and now all of sudden all she could think about was this kid. Raven felt a fierce need to protect it even though she’d only just become fully aware of its existence. And right now that meant getting over her stubborn nature. “Look in an ideal world, yes, I want you to be a part of this,” she began tentatively, knowing full well that the world they lived in was anything but ideal. “But if you’re not in this 100 per cent then you can walk away and pretend this never happened.” Because that’s what she needed from him, either he was going to be a part of this kid’s life for good, or he wasn’t going to be a part of it at all. “You’re choice.” Raven wasn’t going to force him, and she damn well wasn’t going to beg.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT In an ideal world. This -- their -- world was far from ideal. But, that didn't mean it couldn't be ideal for a baby. For their baby. An innocent child who had no choice but to be brought into this hell. The situation sounded all too familiar. Bellamy had become a brother when Octavia was born, and he never had a choice. In this, he did. In a sense. He could walk away, even though his own morals and values grounded him. Made him feel like he didn't have a choice. Yet that feeling, was also mixed with this unfamiliar anticipation of being a father.
He couldn't deny that. He didn't want to deny that. His family, his responsibility. He had failed his mother. He had failed his sister. He wondered if he would fail this child too. Or if it would be his saving grace. The only thing that could bring him back. In an ideal world. They could create that for this baby, couldn't they? Bellamy hadn't had a father, and he wasn't sure what Raven's family history was. But this child, could be different. He or she had two capable parents. They could make this an ideal world for the baby.
"So let's make this an ideal world for him or her," Bellamy began to say, speaking aloud his thoughts. "Let's give this baby a mother, and a father." His way of saying he was in. Not just half assed in, but fully in. He had helped raise Octavia, so fortuantely, had the experience of raising a baby. He wasn't worried about that. He was worried about his numerous failures. Yet, felt all the more determined to never, ever fail this child.
"I'm in, Raven. 100%." And he would prove that. For words were just words. Actions spoke louder. "And I'm proud. To be a father to your child." It had been one night of pure physical need between them, but that didn't mean he didn't care about her. He did. Deeply. She was a good, a great person. Strong. Intelligent. How could he feel anything but pride in that? He did not plan on having children anytime soon, but this was what fate had granted them. And perhaps, it was one of the few times that fate was not playing a cruel game with them.

Make this an ideal world? She wanted that more than anything. But every other day something would try to kill them. It might have been quiet for a little while but who knew how long that would last. A war could start any minute, and she was pregnant. She was pregnant and afraid. But if Bellamy was telling the truth then at least she wasn’t alone. "Let's give this baby a mother, and a father." The sincerity in his voice gave her hope. But she tried not to get her hopes too high. “I want that too.” She didn’t know the first thing about having a baby or raising a child. Raven was a mechanic and it wasn’t exactly a baby friendly job, so she’d never really had to deal with them before. As Bellamy enforced his earlier statement by mimicking her words, she felt the weight on her chest that she hadn’t even noticed before, lighten slightly. Almost like she could breathe a little easier
Her defences were still up though and they were going to stay that way, for now at least. Bellamy sounded genuine in his words but who knew how long that would last. Sure he didn’t seem like the type to go back on his word and leave her, but they never do. "And I'm proud. To be a father to your child." Raven smiled for the first time since she began this conversation and unthinkingly took a step towards him. His words…they were personal and that he was proud to be the father of her child; that meant a lot to her. Taking a step back again, Raven quickly broke the silence in the tent and spoke. “Well, you’re not too bad yourself,” she said, playfully pushing his shoulder. “What a pair we’re going to make, huh,” Raven chuckled quietly with sarcasm in her tone. A makeshift king, though she’d never call him that to his face, and the youngest mechanic on the ark, a title that hardly mattered anymore.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT He felt relief when she assured him that she wanted that too. She had given him the option, though based on her words . . . it truly did sound like she wanted him to be in the child's life. And that meant more to him than he was capable of expressing. He didn't feel as if he deserved love or to be loved after the people he had failed in the past. It was perhaps the reason he had never been in a romantic relationship with anyone before. But here, before him, was a woman telling him that she was carrying his child, and not opposed to him being an actual father to him or her -- and not just the partner to helped conceive it.
That, meant so much to the older Blake sibling. He gave a slight smirk when she teased him, saying that he wasn't so bad himself, before playfully punching his shoulder. Now that was the Raven he knew. And he was glad that she seemed to be at a bit more ease, though he knew there was still a great deal they would need to discuss. "Most definitely," he agreed in her latter spoken words of the pair they would make. "This kid is gonna be tough as hell," he stated with a hint of pride in his voice. Pride already felt in their child.
But that kid, was going to be tough . . . considering it had both Reyes and Blake genes in it. His expression sobered a little as he now took a step toward her too. "How soon do you want to tell people?" He asked, leaving this decision to her. Did she want people to know now? Later? They would eventually find out when she started showing. But, he didn't want to pressure her into this. He wondered if she had told anyone at all before him -- though he assumed Abby knew for medical reasons and to discover the pregnancy as Raven sounded completely certain when she had told him.

"This kid is gonna be tough as hell," Raven smiled at the thought of him or her. They were slowly becoming more and more real. It was both terrifying and exciting, but she found that she really liked talking about them. “Any child of mine’s going to be a damn genius,” she teased. Raven was feeling more at ease, she’d gotten past the hard part of telling him. She hadn’t been sure if she would make it through that. Now they’d just have to get past the hard part of actually having and raising this kid. Yeah, should be fine, she thought sarcastically.
"How soon do you want to tell people?" Her thoughts automatically went to Wick. They hadn’t really talked much since Mount Weather. After she’d recovered from the extraction, Raven’d had a very short and difficult conversation with him which basically entailed her telling him that she cared about him but she wasn’t ready for any kind of relationship, and that he deserved someone better who could give him what he wanted. They’d barely spoken since, only exchanging words over work. And now she was having a baby with Bellamy Blake. That was sure to go over well. “Soon,” she answered. But she needed to tell Kyle first, he deserved at least that. “I mean they’ll figure it out by themselves eventually.” She would start showing of course, and that wouldn’t be easy to hide for very long. “I just need to tell someone first.” She obviously meant Wick, and had a feeling Bellamy probably knew that too.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy couldn't help but give a small smile at Raven's tease regarding their kid being a genius. Tough as hell. A genius. And, not to mention that it would be the first child born on Earth from their generation. From the group of Arkers. That in itself held quite a lot of significance. "Tough as hell and a genius. Definitely our kid," he said in the same slightly teasing voice, though not without truth. Who knew that the first child he ever had would be with Raven. He had never even thought about having children before . . . he never thought it in his future. Yet now that it was, he realized he wanted it.
He realized that it could be the very thing that saved him from this pit of anguish Mount Weather had thrust him into. She told him tha they would soon tell people, that they would figure it out. She also mentioned that there was one person in particular she needed to tell, and Bellamy knew who that was without her needing to say the name. Wick. He had carried her back from Mount Weather and he knew the two were close. It made Bellamy feel all the more honored to know that Raven wasn't rejecting Bellamy from this baby's life . . . despite her having someone who could fulfill that father's roll. Though he didn't know just how close the two were, and wondered if it was any of his business to ask. Probably not. Bellamy knew Wick from the Ark, the two of them had been friends so he was unsure how this would influence their relationship, not to mention his and Raven's.
"I have to tell Octavia," he told Raven. That being the one person he wanted to find out from him. If Clarke was here, he imagined he would also be telling her. But that wasn't exactly an option. And he doubted it would be with the way she left. Abby probably knew considering Raven was so certain about her pregnancy. Bellamy knew her and Wick was none of his business . . . or was it. He supposed he had to know, because, he was thinking ahead. To living arrangements. To when the baby was born. "Are you and him together?" He bluntly asked, and decided he better add a bit more of an explanation. "Normally I wouldn't give a damn. But, seems pretty relevant to know now." Circumstances had changed. She was carrying his child. If one thought he was protective over his sister, well, he would be all the more so for a child. His and Raven's child.

Her nerves lessened and she felt a lot less panicked now that they were having an easy conversation. The hard part was over and the relief was almost overwhelming. "I have to tell Octavia," Raven wondered how she was going to take the news, that she was becoming an aunt. Well; she hoped. They both had people they cared about who needed to know about this and soon. Though she expected the reactions would be very different. Her stomach started to clench again just thinking about it. She never wanted to hurt Wick. They’d been friends for years and then they were, well, whatever they were for a short while, so she cared about him a lot.
Raven felt the nerves and feeling of growing panic return. Telling Wick; hurting him was going to be so much worse than this. But it was necessary, for his sake. She wanted him to be happy, and that meant moving on. Raven was damaged goods to begin with. The grief and injuries she’d suffered on the ground had hardened and changed her. Wick was still okay, well mostly okay. She didn’t want to break him, like she was broken, like Bellamy was broken. He deserved better.
"Are you and him together?" Raven couldn’t help her natural instinct to roll her eyes even though it was a fair question. She paused for a few moments. “No, that...ended.” she finally said, not prepared to go into detail. “Not so big on commitment, not since…” Finn. Folding her arms over her chest, she cleared her throat. “Real mom material, huh.” She said sarcastically, changing the subject. Now wasn’t the time to dwell on grief. “Why, you jealous Blake?” She asked teasingly with a smirk. Raven obviously knew that wasn’t the case but joking about it helped with panic and nerves about confronting Wick with the news. That was going to be a damn nightmare.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She answered his question saying that it ended, that she wasn't big on commitment since . . . well, he knew who she was referring to. Finn of course. That was understandable. She had told him that she hadn't been with anyone but Finn which indicated the lengthy duration of their relationship. The commitment they felt toward one another. At least on the Ark. Down here, things had gotten complicated and while it wasn't any of Bellamy's business, he wasn't blind or deaf. People knew. She remarked about being mom material, as he detected the sarcasm in her voice. "If you're committed to the kid, then that's all you need to be a mom." She didn't need a man in her life necessarily. A mother's commitment to her child encompossed everything.
Bellamy could say this confidently . . . because it had been his mother's commitment to both him and Octavia hat had allowed them to be raised without feeling the absence of a father in their lives. They were not lacking in any love. And while Bellamy was here as the father, he wanted to be, he didn't doubt Raven's capabilities. "You'll make a good one." He wouldn't say that unless he believed it. She was strong, loyal, and clearly had love to give the child. It was a statement he fully believed in; hell, it was a fact. He may not know what it was to be in a romantic commited relationship -- as raising Octavia had always been his priority . . . but raising her had given him enough insight into parenting. Or at least he hoped. He supposed this would be putting that theory to the test.
He gave a playful eyeroll at her tease, jokingly accusing him of being jealous. "Cute." A word he often used to describe her in such moments . . . sarcastically stated, but not entirely untrue. Jeaously. Had Bellamy actually had a romantic partner to qualify as a relationship, perhaps he would know what jealousy was. But he didn't. At least not right now anyway. His priority had always been his sister, and while that didn't entirely change, it was now also going to be his child. "I was asking for the baby's sake, not for me." He knew she was just joking, but he felt the need to explain.
He wanted her to know that he didn't see this as being about them. Though maybe he needed to work on developing a better sense of humor. "But hey, if that's your way of saying you want me to be," he teased in return, even managing a slight smirk. It felt . . . comfortable. Oddly enough. To be able to engage in lighter conversation despite everything else that was happening, and had happened. "Did Abby give you anything to help with the nausea?" He wondered. If not, maybe he could get Monty to make something with the proper herbs; a special tea of sorts. He knew that nothing cured morning sickness, but there were things that could help soothe it, even remotely.

"You'll make a good one." She smiled genuinely, appreciating the sincerity in his voice. "Thank you." She was going to try her very best and like he said she only needed to be committed to the child. Judging by the fierce, instinctual protectiveness she was already feeling, that wouldn't be a problem. She'd grown up with a mother that definitely wasn't committed and no child of hers would ever feel like they weren't wanted. She'd love the hell out of that baby. And seeing as Bellamy was on board too, she knew he'd do the same. But it was still a comforting thought knowing that he believed in her too.
"Cute." Raven smiled at that, a word he'd used before when she would tease him. It turned into a smirk as he still felt the need to offer an explanation. "Sure you can go with that," Her smile quickly disappeared while she rolled her eyes at his next words. "Touché, Bellamy." Raven chuckled holding both of her hands up in mock defeat. "Did Abby give you anything to help with the nausea?" Ah yes. Morning sickness. That was going to be fun. She hadn't even really noticed it pegging her unsettled stomach as a side effect of the trauma she suffered. It wasn't exactly far-fetched. But now the cause was clear. "No, she told me the news and I just left." She furrowed her eyebrows as she thought back. "Or ran, really." Now with the advantage of hindsight she realised just how absurd her sudden departure was. She should probably see Abby and fix that at some point. Another thing to add to the list. "Then I came here to tell you...so I wouldn't have a chance to change my mind." She hadn’t really even given herself time to fully process the news. “I didn’t want to keep this a secret from you, it wouldn’t be fair.” She said honestly, sure of her actions now, especially after seeing how he reacted.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT He gave another slight smirk when she playfully admitted defeat. It felt good. Natural, for them to be able to engage in such light hearted teasing. Perhaps it was a way to deflect from dealing with the severity of the news . . . but still. At least they were capable of casually teasing each other. It helped ease any discomfort of her revelation. She then answered his question, saying that once Abby gave her the news, she had bolted. Left, ran.
He could understand that. It wasn't exactly news that was easy to process. Hell, Bellamy wasn't even sure it had fully registered yet, despite their ability to talk about it right now. She told him that she had come here to tell him, that it wouldn't have been fair to keep it from him. "I appreciate that," he said, returning the words she had said to him, though he meant it, with the utmost sincerity. "I know that I'm not your top choice for the father." Maybe she would have preferred it to be Finn's . . . considering how close the two of them had been growing up. And he also knew that she could have just as easily lied about that. But she didn't.
That reason, and the fact that . . . well, after everything Bellamy had done . . . she still was giving him the opportunity to be a father, when he knew himself he was hardly deserving of love. "But you don't ever have to question my commitment. And I hope to prove that to you. Cause we're in this together." And it was going to be a lot. A hell of a lot. "We'll go see Abby tomorrow to get a proper check up." We. Not just her. "I can ask Monty what he can make to help soothe the nausea." Though unfortunately, there wasn't an actual remedy for morning sickness. It was just one of the things a pregnant woman had to endure. He recalled his mother's experience with it. Bellamy had been so scared at how sick she was, and then even more scared when she told him the reason for it.

"I know that I'm not your top choice for the father." Well she couldn’t exactly deny that. Who would have thought she’d have a baby with Bellamy Blake. They weren’t always exactly friends, let alone anything more. Hell she distinctly remembered holding a knife to his throat with his hand wrapped around hers. How far they had come. Raven was at least sure of the respect she had for the man. He was the reason they were all here, alive. Mount Weather ripped away whatever innocence that remained and left them broken with blood on their hands. It kept her up at night. Every night. That’s why it could never work with Wick. She didn’t want to snuff out his light.
But perhaps this child would bring a little bit of that innocence back. The thought brought her some comfort and she suspected it did the same for Bellamy. “You’ll do.” She said offering a teasing smile. “I doubt I’m your number one choice as the mother of your child either.” They would make quite the pair.
For now, her doubts had subsided and she really believed in the promises he was offering her. They were like lifeboats and she eagerly held on to each one for dear life. “We'll go see Abby tomorrow to get a proper check up.” She smiled at him. A real genuine smile. Sure they weren’t each other’s first choice but this was the card they’d been dealt. And he was really going to do this with her. “That would probably be best. Poor Abby’s probably a little worried.” Especially after seeing the speed with which she bolted. "I can ask Monty what he can make to help soothe the nausea." Raven suddenly stepped forward and embraced him. Hugging him tightly for a moment before immediately stepping back. She quickly cleared her throat and smoothed down her clothes. “Yeah thanks. I’d like that. Morning sickness sounds like a bitch.” She didn’t know what came over her. She felt grateful and apparently decided to show it. It was as much a shock to her as it probably was to him. “Hormones,” she quickly added referring to the hug, waving her hand and using the excuse to hopefully get past it and maybe pretend it didn’t happen.
