whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy was currently hunting, having veered off from the rest of the group. He would rather they stay in higher numbers and he was perfectly fine on his own. Tensions with the Grounders were as high as ever and it was best that they travel in groups. Bellamy remained unafraid. Hell, he welcomed them to even try something. He was equipped with a dagger and his gun should a threat appear, but right now . . . the focus was hunting, not going on a wild goose chase for Grounders. A rustle in the leaves caused him to pause as he spun around, gun aimed at the potential target.
When he didn't see anything emerge from within the bushes, he quietly took a step toward it. The source could be their next meal and it was worth the risk. He drew a bit closer but in one swift motion, a warthog burst out from the bushes and ran right past him. Bellamy attempted to shoot but the sudden panic that seemed to strike the beast caused him to miss. Something wasn't right. Another sound prompted Bellamy to this time look at the ground. Several of the insects began to scurry in the same direction as the animal. Bellamy had seen that before. He turned his gaze straight ahead and saw the cloud that was heading this way. Acid Fog. Damn it! He didn't even have any cover and he wouldn't make it back in time. So he did all that he could was run. Following the beast and insects, he bolted toward the opposite direction, needing to find some sort of shelter.
Ideal scenario would be a cave. As he ran he saw a figure in the approaching distance. It looked to be a young woman and because of her lack of familiarity, Bellamy could deduce that she was a Grounder. He was about to run past her, ignore her -- as she didn't prove to be a threat to him, he wasn't going to attack her for no reason. But at the same time . . . he felt the need to warn her. Perhaps it was because he was raised by a single mother, and had a younger sister, and there was that instinctive protectiveness toward women. Whatever the reason, he could not ignore her. "There's acid fog approaching!" He hurriedly warned her as he stopped only for a brief moment. In addition to that, there was a cave not to far away. "There!" He pointed out, motioning toward it, hardly stopping and yet, it was enough to make sure she followed.

[googlefont="Amatic SC:400"] aint it fun The small puddle of water resembled liquefied crystal as the sun which hung high above the grounder’s head reflected itself, shining in its glory. Dipping her hands first, Leilah cupped a handful only to raise it to her lips before she proceeded to fill her dried out bottle with fresh water. She wasn’t far from her village, though having been deprived of water for hours, she was quite parched and couldn’t help herself. Leilah left her village at dawn to accompany another warrior to patrol. However, things had gotten out of control when he had left her in search for something-- or perhaps someone, Leilah had just barely caught bits of his sentence before he tore through the trees in his way, leaving her dumbfounded and conflicted. She wasn’t certain whether she should have sprinted after him or if he had ordered her to stay behind. Thus, she decided to do the former and follow his tracks.
That was up until she had completely lost him. She had been searching for him for what felt like hours and she eventually had to give up and return before she endangered herself. Although danger was inevitable on Earth, Lei knew the woods like the back of her hand; she had spent most of her younger days hunting and training with her father, mostly on higher grounds. Suddenly, before Leilah could finish filling her bottle, a black lump had blurred passed her hand. Swiftly turning on the base of her heels, still in a crouching position, Leilah narrowed her eyes at the lone insect shuffling farther away from her. Seemingly putting as much distance between itself and an invisible force as possible. Stiffening in her position, Leilah clamped her eyes shut momentarily before she shot up upon her feet and muttered incoherent curses under her breath. And in the blink of an eye, Leilah tucked her unlocked bottle in the pack she carelessly slung across her shoulder and ran the opposite direction of the insect. Determined to get to her village for shelter before it was too late.
Dodging loose tree branches and stumbling on rocks, Leilah mustered what strength she could find in her legs to move faster. Her gaze narrowed at a shape running towards her, assuming it was the warrior she had left with, she allowed herself to slow down slightly. As the shape became clearer, Leilah looked back and forth between the guy who had already passed her by and the direction she was headed as his words registered in her mind. Hesitantly, she pivoted and took off after the unfamiliar guy. ‘’It’s not far behind. Hurry.’’ She called out behind him. Catching up within seconds, Leilah threw her body forwards barely catching herself onto the edges of the cave opening. Reaching out, she felt on the stone wall for anything to use as a shield. Glancing over her shoulder, she searched for the stranger to ensure he had made it in with her. Just then she felt an odd bump on the wall, returning her attention back to it. ‘’Here, give me a hand.’’

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had to admit, he wasn't sure how the Grounder was going to react to his presence. She could oppose it, violently reject it, or claim the space of the cave for her own. But instead, she told him to hurry, and granted him entrance -- as he had waited for her to enter before he followed inside. Furthermore, there was a massive boulder that they could use to blog the fog from entering, one that she told him to help her with. He didn't need to be asked twice. He hurriedly moved toward it, using his strength to push it toward the entrance and exit of the cave opening. It seemed they did it just in time as well for he could see the air transforming to that typical color it did whenever the acid fog was near.
He moved back, his hand instinctively grabbing her arm to pull her back as well so that not an ounce of the toxic gas would touch their skin. Once he could be sure that the makeshift door they had created was secure enough, he turned around, realizing that he hadn't even inspected the cave before diving in. Who knew if there was some sort of creature who had claimed it as their home. But seeing how the size of their shelter wasn't too big, it seemed they were in the clear.
Bellamy then took the opportunity to just get comfortable, casually sitting on the ground with his back against the cave wall and knees propped up, resting against his chest. He looked at the Grounder, knowing it would be dangerous to completely lower his guard, but he figured that if she wanted to kill him . . . she would have found a way to keep him out of the cave and let the fog do its work. "Thank you," he told her, knowing it needed to be said. Whatever tensions existed between their people, he would thank her where appropriate. And if they were forced to kill each other later well, so be it.

[googlefont="Amatic SC:400"] aint it fun Perhaps it was unnecessary, but Leilah still offered aid in pushing the boulder to block the deadly fog out as quick as possible. She allowed herself to take a second to breath out, before reacting in pure instinct when she felt the stranger’s hand clasp around her arm. With her free hand she grasped for her dagger, ready to defend herself if needed. Although, when she realized that he had only done so to move her before what amount of fog had slipped into the cave made contact with any bare part of her skin, the grounder let herself relax some without dropping her guard. Tucking her dagger back, she eyed the sky person from the corner of her eye warily. ‘‘ You’re from the sky people?’’ She stated more to herself rather than questioned him.
Leilah had never met one before, she always successfully eluded being sent to attack any of them. It was safe to say that she believed her leader could be unnecessarily hard on outsiders, though not without good reason; they had dark histories with other outsiders and former enemies. But without given a valid reason to take the life of anyone innocent, Leilah would never proceed to follow such order blindly. Nonetheless, that didn’t mean that she would simply embrace a sky person. Startled by the echo of his voice, Leilah tipped her head in confusion. ‘‘ Shouldn’t I be the one thanking you?’’ Her orbs glimmered with mischief, despite her grim facial expression as she dropped her pack on the ground and sat down on one knee next to it. Fishing out her bottle which had lost a fair dose of needed water, Leilah proceeded to satisfy her parched throat.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy looked to the woman when she both questioned and statedt hat he was from the sky people. So that was what they called them. Which was fine. Since the Arkers had their own name for their kind. "And you're a Grounder," he stated more than asked. Now, they knew what the other called their group. Yet considering she hadn't shown any violence toward him -- not yet anyway -- he figured he couldn't judge all of them too harshly. But that by no means meant he trusted her or her people. They were basically at war; a war that was building and would come soon enough.
However currently, they were united against a common environmental threat. Funny that it was what brought two foes together. She then posed a question regarding her being the one to thank him. He casually brushed it off, not having done it for her gratitude for anyone to owe him a favor. Hell, he wasn't sure why he had warned her. He only knew that he didn't regret it. It was very, instinctual for him. "No need," he told her truthfully. "Though maybe it'll show your people that mine shouldn't all be speared and shot at." His tone wasn't bitter; it was as blunt as he always spoke. Perhaps there was even a tease in there . . . even if it wasn't meant to be an overly amusing one.

[googlefont="Amatic SC:400"] aint it fun The unfamiliarity behind the word he had called her was the reason behind Lei furrowing her eyebrows in confusion, momentarily, as she put away her bottle. Though, when she put two and two together, Lei just shook her head imperceptibly and resisted the scoff stuck in her throat. She found it slightly amusing, in a sort of way, but said nothing more of it and let the subject pass.
Leilah had never been good with showing any sign of gratitude, it always gave away a discomforting feeling that made her quite awkward; her only way out of it was attempting to smoothly show it indirectly. Thus, she responded to his dismissal with a simple nod. However, as he continued Leilah lowered her gaze to conceal the scarcely noticeable knowing smirk that formed on her lips. She wasn’t proud of the way her people addressed the situation of these sky people landing within their territory, though she was very well aware that they all had reacted the way they did with good reason. Unfortunately, whatever her opinion was, she doubted it would even matter; she was already known to have disobeyed their rules by sheltering a being her people saw as nothing more than a disgrace, a stain. ‘‘My people only want blood to answer blood…’’ She argued on their behalf, despite her disagreement with them concerning that matter. But that wasn’t anything she felt comfortable enough to share, more so with the enemy she currently was at war with, thus she swallowed her opinion, as much as she was itching to voice it. ''But maybe you're right...we shouldn't be wasting all those spears and arrows.'' She made an attempt at a slightly dark joke, the ghost of a smirk lurking in the corner of her lips.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Blood for blood. An eye for an eye. Bellamy was hardly one who promoted peace. He was someone who believed they had to fight back. It was kill or be killed by these people. Yet the way she said these words . . . didn't sound overly aggressive. It made him curious, intrigued almost by her statement and the tone she used when saying it. "So how much blood is enough?" He questioned. From his, and he supposed the other Arker's perspective, they had not waged war. But apparently, that was not how the Grounders perceived things. They had been the first to cast a spear against one of their own. It was what made Bellamy sure that peace was not so easily attained. That there would be a war soon enough.
She then spoke it another unexpected tone; a hint of jest in her voice. A tease. One that elicited the slightest of smirks from the Arker. "Yeah. Save them for the real enemies." His words weren't so much a returning tease, though that didn't mean he didn't appreciate the humor so naturally integrated into her words. He wondered if there was even any point in trying to tell them that they weren't a danger. He supposed the two sides had surpassed any hope of that. "You don't sound as hostile as I've seen your people act," he pointed out. Was she a warrior? Weren't they all? Or were there those who did not engage in violence? At least they had the choice. With Bellamy, and the others who came down . . . they didn't exactly have a choice. They had to fight. They had been forced to be warriors.

[googlefont="Amatic SC:400"] aint it fun Their ways of living might have appeared as savagery in the eyes of anyone from the outside. Hell, even Leilah disagreed at times, there were somethings her people reacted to with too much aggression that seemed rather unnecessary at times. But when it came to war, when it came to bloodshed; they wanted nothing but justice. Although, vengeance could also get the best of most of them, leading them them to retaliate blindly without any sign of mercy. And thus, no words emitted from her when she parted her lips. She wasn’t certain when her people would stop; but she had an idea it wouldn’t be until either all or the majority of her people were pleased, or in case their leader merely called them off. Though if she would do something likely, Leilah knew that no one from her clan would be particularly happy with the her. ‘‘I can’t tell you that,’’ she finally managed to let out something.
Leilah doubted they had many enemies to worry about at this time. Their leader had already brought together the twelve clans, and before the skaikru invaded a part of their territory, they only had-- and still have-- to watch out from reapers and the Mountain Men, along with the traitors who’d been banished. ‘‘Perhaps we should.’’ Lei stated rather nonchalantly, lowering her gaze, momentarily.
‘‘Would you have preferred to exchange profanities?’’ With an arched brow, she glanced at the skyboy with a narrowed yet quizzical gaze. She never found a rational motive to detest the sky people, not the way she did the Mountain Men for continuously attacking her people and reprogramming the mindset of those caught, turning them into something despicable. ‘‘You saved me, consider this me repaying you.’’ Though perhaps she owed him more than a civil conversation, Leilah let a shrug roll off the base of her shoulders as she continued. ‘‘And I would suppose most of them have a personal vendetta against your kind,’’ that or they were loyal enough to their leader that they didn't even try to inquire her as to why they hated the sky-fallen. Though, perhaps the wisest thing to do would be not to question the Heda.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She couldn't tell him how much blood would be enough. He knew he shouldn't be surprised, but still. It was frustrating to know that the Grounders would just keep trying to kill them until, what, they had claimed the life of every Arker sent down here? "Can't say I'm surprised," he admitted his thoughts in a low voice. He shouldn't have expected anything different from a people who were so engrossed with war and violence. She then questioned as to whether he preferred exchanging profanities. "No," he answered bluntly.
"At least you're capable of having a civil conversation." Circumstances could be blamed for this one, but it was indeed easier to sit here and not be trying to kill each other . . . or defend onesself. Bellamy was more a man of action than words, but in this case, this whole conversation felt like one that needed to be had. She then added on that he had saved her, that this was her repaying him. "Think that'll score me points with your people?" He asked with the utmost sarcasm. Truthfully, he didn't care at this point. The Grounders had taken too many lives. Bellamy knew peace could not be so easily attained. Her last words caused him to pause.
He knew that by saying that his people were not dangerous would undermine their strength -- which he would never do. The delinquents were all strong, forced to be warriors. But by saying that they were a threat, would only make it sound like they wanted a war . . . which they didn't. Hell, they were barely surviving at this point. "Yeah well guess there's only one way that this is going to end. And it won't be pretty." It would result in death, on both ends. "We didn't come to the ground to fight, but we will if that's what it takes." He knew he wasn't saying anything that was entirely new, unless the current Grounder he was with hadn't been made aware of the conversation Clarke had with Anya. Clarke had told her their intentions and it wasn't to fight . . . but nor would they admit defeat. Ever.
