Baron hadn't been able to rest his mind in the time following their argument via text messages. He knew it wasn't something they would break up over but . . . none the less. He didn't feel right about it. He cared about Abra so much, and he also knew this distance was not helping matters. So he had made a decision: he was going to fly down to her to surprise her. Quickly making arrangements, and getting things in order, he was on a flight back to the States to see her. He wanted to -- needed to -- make this right and another texting conversation or a phone call just wasn't going to cut it.
He needed to not only tell her how much she meant to him, but also, show her. And that was something that needed to be done in person. Once the flight landed, he didn't waste any time. He quickly stopped at his house to drop off his things and change. Somewhat formal attire because tonight, was going to be a special one. He then went to get some groceries, candles, and flowers. Part of him hoped she wasn't home and when they pulled up to her place, relief set in upon not seeing her car. He bid his driver goodbye, knowing it was best that no one would see his car in the lot. Making his way he set to work. A matter of a few hours later, everything was set.
A romantic homecooked meal he prepared, with a set table, dimmed lights, and candles to make up for the rest of the lighting. Flowers were placed in a vase in the middle. Baron adjusted the crooked fork, eyeing over everything to make sure it looked perfect. He wasn't sure why he felt nervous, but he could have sworn his heart skipped a beat when he heard the key unlock. Quickly taking off his apron and folding it to the side, he straightened up and stood next to the table, hands folded behind him and smiled when he saw her enter her apartment. "Welcome home."

So gather ye demons, it seems it's your day I sin but I've paid more than ten thousand graves Abra was in stunned silence as she stared at him, her lips slightly parted, her voice caught in her throat. There was Baron, in the flesh and blood, not an apparition. Her eyes slightly widened as she looked at the beautiful home cooked meal, the sight of it making her heart flutter, the smell like heaven to her nose. And the flowers, her favorites, dahlias; her heart did a somersault.
"Baron... what are you... when did you..." She didn't know where to start, what to address first. Abra hadn't been expecting this level of thoughtfulness after their fight, not after she had been so horrible to him. She had been distant ever since that night, had told him in the heat of the moment to go spend time with that little witch if they were such good friends.
She had come to regret saying it once the fire of her anger cooled but apologizing was not something she was good at. Having closed the door the woman approached him, her steps slow and deliberate. Abra couldn't hide the smile that found her lips, the way happiness invaded her stare. "You know, I'm still mad at you..." She said in a teasing tone, not at all serious.

Baron smiled at her obvious shock, unable to form a sentence and it just made him more pleased that he could surprise her in this way. That he could make her smile, with the hope of making her feel appreciated and valued. He watched her as she approached him, moving closer to her as well as she teased that she was still mad at him. The smile still remained on his lips, wrapping his arms around her. "Well then, it's a good thing I have a three course meal planned to earn your forgiveness," he teased in return. He then leaned down, one hand going to gently cup her chin to tilt her head upward, until their lips met in a tender kiss.
He closed his eyes, the sensation of her lips so incredibly missed and basking in the emotions it always caused to stir within him. Slowly easing out of it, he opened his eyes, the smile reforming. "I missed you too," he added playfully, another tease referring her words of still being angry. His hand fell to hers as he wrapped his fingers around it, starting to lead her the few steps towards the table, always pulling out the chair out for her when she was there. "I hope you didn't have anything else planned tonight," he told her, having had a legitimate concern that she would be busy tonight. It was one of the many risks of attempting to surprise someone.

So gather ye demons, it seems it's your day I sin but I've paid more than ten thousand graves There was no hesitation leaning into the kiss. The rush of emotions his presence invoked was unmistakable, stoking a familiar fire in the pit of her stomach. Baron has been sorely missed, as was evident in the way she moved to stand before him, chasing the taste of him was as long as possible. The moment was, regretfully, short lived. "No plans," she answered softly, almost breathlessly as he guided her into the seat. It was frightening that he could have that effect on her with only a kiss, quieting her mind while sending her heart into overdrive.
Abra was a woman accustomed to the criminal underbelly where the worst of the worst made themselves known; murderers, thieves, gangsters and thugs. In quote moments like this one she greatly appreciated that Baron was not like that. He was different from other men she had dated and it was welcomed. He was stubborn and strong-willed, not letting her walk all over him but he knew how to treat his woman with dignity and grace without coddling her.
Now seated across from him with a hand beneath her chin she stared at him, amused and enamored. The smile she wore was genuine, caring, adoring. "You've been paying attention," she mused aloud while reaching for the bottle of wine, carefully pouring herself a generous glass before doing the same for him. "You've bought my favorite flowers, made a wonderful meal, chosen excellent wine. Baron, this is perfect."
