The trees rustled from the wind, sending loose leaves down in their direction. Malia swatted at flies in annoyance, trying to keep them away from herself and her horse. They weren't too far from the Sky People's camp, and the spot they would be meeting at. Malia had sent riders to their camp to offer a deal. They would help the Sky People survive on the ground, and in return they'd help them stage an attack on Azgeda. Malia had been planning to attack them for a while, and now they would be finally taking action. When she was younger, her village had been ambushed by an Ice Nation patrol. Her parents had been killed, along with many others. She had been training to be a healer before that, but began to train as a warrior instead afterwards. She wanted to become leader so she could get revenge. It had been slow, but she worked her way up the ranks and became leader of Trishana. Now as leader, though, she knew that revenge wouldn't come easy. She would need help, and hopefully the Sky People would provide that. She did not know if they had any training or proper weapons, but they needed someone to fight with them, and she only had something to offer to them in return. Still, she wasn't completely certain that they would agree to her offer. It would be dangerous and some of them would most definitely die. But they would also get taught how to live on the ground, something it seems like they haven't been very good at. Winter would be coming eventually, which itself brought a number of problems. Malia was sure that their help was needed if the Sky People were going to survive here. Allies were always welcomed, anyways. She hadn't mentioned anything about not bringing weapons, since Malia and her guards would definitely be bringing theirs. She was wary, though, and make sure to stay alert. She didn't know how these people acted. She didn't quite know what to expect. As they came to the place they had agreed to meet to discus it, Malia and her patrol dismounted and tied their horses' reins to the trees. A few warriors were hidden in the woods, just in case. Her eyes served the area, and she took a slight breath before stepping forward to meet them.

John liked horses, just that he liked them as animals and not as means of transportation. He knew that if they were going to meet the grounder group they would have to find another way of moving around so in the last moment, before going to sleep the night before, he decided to steal the off-road vehicle from the camp. It was a bold move and a bit annoying because as there was only one vehicle, it was very easy to notice that it wasn’t there any more. He also had to get rid of the guards at the entrance and bribe his way through the entire camp. For most of the guards that didn’t even work.
Yet now, he and four other members of the ark crew were slowly driving towards the meeting place. The air was cold as they advanced through the woods and Rampage was the one driving. The other four, three men and a woman were mostly his law breaking partners. For some reason, attacking Asgeda seemed to the others like the automate bad idea. Yet John knew better. Besides that Asgeda were tyrants, as the Ark’s leadership, and tyrants had to be fought wherever it was possible. He wasn’t going to stay away from an honorable fight started for an honorable cause. The Ark’s council could put their diplomacy somewhere safe and deep.
Soon enough, the vehicle reached the meeting place. Apparently the Trishana were already there and Rampage recognized Malia, their leader.
He spoke to her before and Malia was both fascinating and scary at the same time. Like any grounder leader she seemed very unpredictable and was definitely dangerous. Yet her intentions seemed fair and Rampage respected her and definitely respected grounders more than his own people. Grounder law at leas had a logic to it.
He stopped the car and all 5 of them came down. Rampage held his stolen pistol as the others revealed a rifle, a bat and two long swords.
“Greetings Malia of Trishana!” He bowed slightly as a sign of respect. “I am afraid that this is all I could gather from that wretched camp full of bloody cowards. There are a few that see reason in attacking Asgeda first. We are some of them. Some are to afraid of the law to even mention such a thought. Yet we believe that Ark law is useless. We recognize Trishana law and we will follow you in battle.”
Rampage approached Malia, not knowing exactly what to do but waiting for her to speak and hoping that his diplomacy was enough to not send the grounders into a killing spree.

Malia studied the man, John, for a moment. He seemed a bit bold to her, but she could say the same about many others.
"John kom Skaikru," she greeted him, but without the respect he had shown to her. "How is this enough for an army? A few more warriors is not sufficient enough to make a difference in the odds of winning this war. Azgeda's army is large. Are there others who are willing to fight with us? I doubt this deal will work if you lack men on your side."
By 'men', she meant all people, not just the male population. Though most warriors seem to be men, by fault. She studied the people John had brought with him. Five people, in total. This would not work with such little numbers. Malia already had an army. She had wanted allies, another army, to join them. She narrowed her eyes a bit. She did want to help them, but for that they would need to keep up their part of the deal.

John felt quite trapped after Malia spoke. As expected, a moment of silence followed. She wanted the entire Skaikru to fight Asgeda, that showing that she definitely wasn’t among them at all. He sighed slowly and said: “Malia... Skaikru is not really the example of unity you might imagine... I suppose that if you spoke with the Council you would have not gotten to any deal. We are just a growing rebel faction. We want Skaikru to have alliances with the local grounder groups and also to have no tyrant leader... As I said... the group is increasing, we are recruiting. But you can’t expect us to strike a deal with Jaha or that he would march, leading an army against Asgeda.”
Rampage noticed the smiles of one of the men in his group. He became nervous knowing that the guy was usually keen on pranks and also, what he called, a lonely self developing character. Many times he brought them advantages in their actions yet sometimes he got them into deep trouble. The grounders were sure not to be involved in a second possible scenario. Trouble should stay away while they were involved. Suddenly John’s friend went to the back of the rover and opened the doors. He came carrying a metal crate followed shortly by one of the girls who as well went at the back of the rover and brought yet another crate. Both opened them and Rampage could see that the first contained somewhere around 10 rifles. The other one held cylindrical tubes with small devices attached. Rampage though “Damn idiots! We’re gonna have the entire guard upon us if anyone finds out where those weapons went... At least they didn’t get more...” He also guessed what the cylinders might be. Probably home made explosive devices containing most likely fuel. What kind of fuel, he had no idea. Trying to not seem surprised he gave a killer look and a smile to his friends and said: “How about an ambush to even the score a bit? And maybe weapon training... for hidden positions. I’ll try to bring more men as well...“
He gazed at Malia as fierce as he did when he arrived. He tried to ignore the fact that her crushing presence as a leader was far more trained than theirs. Tag: Malia

Malia automatically flinched away from the weapons as soon as they were revelled.
"We are not using those," she said in her language, a mix of emotions rushing over her. For that split second her mask had broken, and raw emotion was evident on her face. Her second-in-command, Mikah, murmured to her.
"We would have a greater advantage over Azgeda if we did. I know you do not like it, but this is how we will win this war."
Malia bit her lip, her mask resurfacing on her face. "Fine."
To the Sky People, she said, "You have a deal. Some of my people will learn how to use these. The weapons will be kept in our weaponry, under guard. No one will go near without my permission. In exchange for your help, we will assist you in surviving here."
It was evident that she was not expecting the weapons. She had not had a good experience with these, and so she was...wary and afraid of them. She hoped that nothing would go wrong, since these were very dangerous. Mikah was right, though, because Azgeda would not have these. They might have a chance of defeating them now.

John was still amazed by the sudden introduction of the weapons though now at least he felt that the war leader was impressed. He was glad that his second had changed her mind concerning the use of the weapons and explosives. Though the part with the stashing and taking care of the weapons, was sort of scary. They could take care of the rifles and deposit them wherever they wanted. But the explosives were not something to be played around with. Approaching Malia a bit more and almost whispering he said: “I am not sure it is a good idea for you to transport the explosive pods. One slip of a foot and we’re all done for without Asgeda moving as much as a finger. We should transport the explosive pods with the rover. Sincerely telling you, I only suspect what are they made of... I will have to see closer what fuel they have inside and how do they work. I will transport them myself and place them where you wish. All the gear should be kept away from water and anything wet. Also they should be kept away from fire. The pods are tricky, they should be kept away from almost anything... Only a few people should have access to them.” Going back a few steps Rampage spoke: “So it’s a deal! We shall show Asgeda the true meaning of freedom. Let the tyrants fall!” John’s men began shouting victoriously as they approached the weapon crates. Coming closer to Malia again, John spoke: “By any means do not use the pods randomly, and by God do not use them near civilian populations or villages. Crimes of war are the last thing I wish to fight with while I am awake at night.” Remembering all the happenings onto the Ark, John lowered his gaze with a sad look. Tag: Malia

What John said seemed to anger her. "We are not fools, John of the Sky People," she said, her eyes narrowed, her voice almost snapping at him. "I was going to have you transport the items to my village. I would not have my people carrying explosives on horseback." She gave him something close to a glare, clearly thinking that he had insulted her intelligence. "The use of the weapons is entirely up to us. Whether we use them on villages or not is my decision. I do not care what you think." Malia did not want to kill innocent people, but Azgeda had killed many of hers. She was not going to spare the innocents when Azgeda had not. They did not deserve it.
